  • Sadie Robertson Defends Grandpa Phil Robertson: ‘He’s My Family and Family Sticks Together’

Sadie Robertson killed it on Dancing With the Stars Monday night surrounded by the entire Robertson clan.

The 17-year-old high school student’s father Willie and uncles Jase, Si and Jep helped out with her Duck Dynasty-inspired dance with partner Mark Ballas by using duck calls.

The routine was awesome and earned the team 37 out of 40 points.

Before the performance, a segment was aired of Sadie sharing about why the year 2012 was the most important of her young life so far — it’s the year Duck Dynasty first aired.

In a clip, which aired prior to the performance, Sadie, whose DWTS costumes are all dad-approved, said her life was turned upside down in 2012 when Duck Dynasty first aired.

“I was 14 and I didn’t realize how big it was going to be,” she said. “But there’s definitely been some bad things about being in the public eye.”

Sadie said it was all good, recalling the first time someone asked for her autograph. She went on to say there was the negative flip-side of fame.

“Everybody knows who you are and they’re looking for you to mess up,” she said. “My grandpa said some things that upset some people and the press came after him.

“My family would not be where we are without our faith. That’s what’s carried us this whole way. You know, we put our faith in God and we like to share that with everybody.”

Sadie said it became so difficult for the family following her grandfather Phil’s comments about homosexuality to GQ magazine in Dec. 2013, the Robertsons nearly called it quits.

“The thing is, no matter what he would have said, we would have stuck by him, because he’s my grandpa,” Sadie said. “Yeah, he’s very opinionated, but he’s my family, and family sticks together.”

  • Duck Dynasty Sued by Camo Company

Down is up and up is down. Who would have ever believed that any manufacturer or seller of camouflage clothing in the world would ever sue A&E and their cash cow, Duck Dynasty? But that is exactly what is happening.

It all started when one of the stars of the hit A&E series, uncle Si Robertson, once said, “My favorite color is camo.” Sounds innocent enough. The phrase took off. And A&E, which already licenses camo materials with the show’s name and logo, began to license camo wear emblazoned with the phrase.

But hold up. It turns out there is already a company that has claim to that phrase as a camo sales gimmick. The company is called Hajn, and they are based in Florida. And this is not just a case of a smaller company beating A&E to the punch after that episode aired. Hajn says it registered the phrase as a trademark and put it on shirts, pants, hoodies, hats, magnets, stickers and bumper stickers in 2011, which is a year before Duck Dynasty started up on A&E.

    So, the lawsuits cranked up.

“A&E’s conduct constitutes clear acts of unfair competition that risks considerable consumer confusion in that customers purchasing apparel from A&E believe that these goods are affiliated, sponsored, endorsed or related to Hajn,” the suit said. “Alternatively, A&E’s conduct constitutes reverse palming off, in that consumers believe that Hajn is selling Duck Dynasty related apparel.”

Hajn says they sent A&E a cease and desist letter, which they ignored. Hajn says they are entitled to a piece of the action.

“A&E generated $400 million in revenues from sales of Duck Dynasty branded merchandise at Wal-Mart in 2013 alone,” the suit said.

“Our client is a hardworking and enterprising small-business owner who took the time and effort to trademark his intellectual property,” Hajn attorney Greg Weiss wrote. “We had no choice but to pursue his rights though this lawsuit after our warning went unheeded.”

A&E’s lawyers have not commented, saying, “We don’t comment on pending litigation.”

  • Duck Dynasty: Si Robertson Releases Country Album

Watch out fellow country music superstars …Si Robertson is releasing a new country album!

Robertson, who is most well-known as Uncle Si on A&E’s reality show Duck Dynasty, recently showed off his singing skills on the Duck Dynasty Christmas album Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas, but now he is going solo and has released a brand new album called Me and My Smoking Hot Honey on iTunes.

The album features six songs, one of which Si collaborated with Kix Brooks on, called Can’t Take the Swamp Outta the Man.

The duo debuted the song at Si’s vow renewal ceremony last month as a surprise for Si’s wife of 43 years Christine Robertson. “[Christine] loves Kix Brooks!” Si told Fox News, so you can imagine her surprise as Si and Kix sang the song as she made her way down the aisle.

Apparently, Si had a blast working on this album and has even mentioned making a career change; leaving the duck calls behind and doing music full time. “I’m gonna make this my new career choice,” he said. “I had a blast!”

Below is a list of the songs that are included on Si’s album:
    1. Can’t Take the Swamp Outta the Man – Si Robertson and Kix Brooks

  • Duck Dynasty Christmas Special a Major Hit

Duck Dynasty Christmas Special a Major Hit

The Robertson clan has become a worldwide sensation. Millions of viewers tune in to A&E every week to find out what the bearded Robertson men will be up to next. This week was a special week for the Duck Dynasty enthusiasts, as back-to-back episodes aired including the much anticipated Christmas special.

Because of their growing popularity and massive empire, it was no surprise that the Christmas special brought in 8.9 millions viewers. While the numbers are impressive, they still did not break their overall record of 11.8 million viewers during their fourth season premiere in August.

We all know that the Robertsons can hunt, and we found out that they could sing after the release of their Christmas album, Duck The Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas, but did you know that they can act too? During the nativity play at their church, each member of the Robertson family took part in telling the story of the birth of Jesus. “Considering the talent involved, it’s borderline miraculous we pulled off the play,” Jase Robertson said.

Earlier this month, the infamous Uncle Si talked to Us Weekly recalling his favorite Christmas memory. “We lived in a farming community. The hands that drive the tractors. . . they don’t make a lot of money,” Si explained. “Daddy had fell off an oil rig, broke his back and was not working. Two weeks later, the woman comes back and hands mama an envelope. It was something like $500 or $600 in an envelope with ‘Merry Christmas’ on it for the kids,” he continued. “That’s my favorite Christmas memory. This is people that didn’t have much, giving a lot. Which is what Christmas is all about: giving.”

In true Robertson tradition, Willie ended the episode with a very touching message. “Everyone knows that the meaning of Christmas is giving,” he said. “But what makes the season truly special is the variety of ways to give.”

  • Teen Arrested in Duck Dynasty Scarecrow Case

A teenage suspect has been arrested and is being charged of theft by taking after he stole the life-size scarecrow replica of Si Robertson.

The scarecrow was made by the Ball Ground Elementary School fourth-grade parents for the city’s annual scarecrow contest. It took 40 hours to complete and, surprisingly, looked almost identical to Uncle Si.

Ball Ground Police Chief, Bryon Reeves, said they started the search for the scarecrow after a concerned citizen called to report it missing last week. They then had another tip that the scarecrow was sitting at a neighboring home, but when they went to retrieve it, it was gone again.

“We discovered after a little investigation that a juvenile had taken it. I made contact with the juvenile who lives a little further away and he admitted to taking it,” Reeves said. “It was nothing but ashes it was completely gone.”

City Manager Eric Wilmarth said the juvenile admitted to taking the scarecrow, but did not live in Ball Ground, he just happened to be passing through and thought the scarecrow was “cool”.

“He was just passing through downtown Ball Ground and thought Uncle Si was pretty cool and wanted him. He just didn’t think about the consequences, and I am sure didn’t think there would be so much publicity,” Wilmarth said. “The young man has expressed remorse — he is sorry for what he did — it’s just one of those things you can’t back up and undo.”

After realizing what he had done and the consequences for his actions, the juvenile decided to dispose of the scarecrow by burning it.

“It’s unfortunate that they lost their scarecrow, but maybe … out of his own remorse, he might make them a new one,” Reeves said. “If they learn anything, it is that stealing is wrong no matter whose it is; if it’s not yours, don’t take it.”

Allison Martin, who is one of the parents who helped make the scarecrow, said the parents have made the decision to forgive the thief.

“To begin with we were kind of upset, the main reason we had done ‘Duck Dynasty’ was because of the background and their beliefs and we truly believe in them, and as a community we have to forgive,” Martin said.

Doug Knott, the principal of Ball Ground Elementary School said he is taking this incident and turning it into a positive learning experience for the students.

“As you can imagine, the students were very proud of their creation and the positive attention he had received from the community and strangers alike. While it is very disappointing to think that someone would take the scarecrow, I’m sure the individual did not take the time to think through these actions,” Knott said. “Though initially the loss was hurtful to our students and our community, our students are very forgiving and ready to move this into a positive learning experience.”

  • Duck Dynasty Shirt Landed a Student in Hot Water

As the Duck Commander guys say on A&E’s Duck Dynasty, “You can’t spell ‘stupid’ without ‘S,I,” and that’s a sentiment that many people are feeling after a high school student was forced to take off his Duck Dynasty shirt. The shirt features the popular Uncle Si Robertson with one of his funny sayings, “I will hurt you physically and metaphysically.” School officials at Dinwiddie High School in Virginia found the shirt threatening to the other students.

Hunter Spain and his family are huge Duck Dynasty fans, the popular show that follows a bunch of self-proclaimed redneck millionaires around watching them do everything from conduct business to duck hunting. “For this to be considered as a threat to the school,” said Edna-Jo Spain, Hunter’s mother, “I couldn’t understand it. Anybody that ever watches Duck Dynasty knows that Si Robertson is famous for his little funny slogans.”

Considering Duck Dynasty is one of the most popular shows on TV right now, it’s hard to believe that the people at the school would take it seriously, but Hunter was given the choice to turn his Duck Dynasty shirt inside out or go home and change. He opted for the latter and said, “I’m not going to look stupid in front of all of these young ladies in the school. So, I decided to get a different t-shirt.”

The school has released a statement on the offending Duck Dynasty shirt, and they said that it simply violated dress code. “If you are a Duck Dynasty fan you understand the meaning of the shirt,” said David Clark, school superintendent. “But if you haven’t watched Duck Dynasty you may question if the shirt implies violence. As a school division, we would like to keep our slogans on student shirts as non-violent as possible.”

What do you think about the Duck Dynasty shirt? Respond below. A lot of Twitter users weren’t too happy about the decision:
