    The Manson family members murdered four other people who were at the home besides Sharon Tate.

    Sharon Tate was a rising star in Hollywood and was married to famed director Roman Polanski.

    Sharon Tate is still remembered for her spirit and talent, including by other young Hollywood stars, like Lindsay Lohan, who made her admiration known via Instagram on Thursday.

    All well and good. Except Thursday was Charles Manson’s birthday.

    Of course, many followers and observers voiced their opinions on the propriety of posting pics of oneself dressed like Sharon Tate on that particular date.

    Some gave her tribute to Sharon Tate the benefit of the doubt that perhaps Lindsay Lohan just didn’t know and chose very unfortunate timing.

    Others, however, weren’t so kind.

    Lindsay Lohan has made another questionable decision by dressing like Sharon Tate on the birthday of the man who arranged her murder, Charles Manson.

    It’s truly a mystery why Lindsay Lohan would choose to dress up like the murder victim and post a picture of herself wearing garments typical of Sharon Tate on Manson’s birthday.

    As reported by People magazine, The Mean Girls star posted the shot to Instagram on Thursday, with the caption, “I LOVE SHARON TATE #CANCERmeetsAQUARIUS #themelook #hippieWINTERCHIC.”

    Lohan, 29, is decked out in ’60s style attire for the picture, including a floral crop top, matching short shorts and vintage boots.

    Sharon Tate was murdered Aug. 9, 1969, by members of Manson’s cult, who broke into her Beverly Hills home and stabbed the pregnant 26-year-old actress to death. Manson, 81, is currently serving nine consecutive life sentences at Corcoran State Prison in California.

    According to UPI, Manson was sentenced to death in 1971, but California’s temporary abolition of the death sentence the next year commuted his sentence to life imprisonment. Manson made headlines once again last year when he became engaged to a 26-year-old woman.

    Whatever led to Lohan’s decision to “honor” Sharon Tate on her murderer’s birthday has left a sour taste in some of Lindsay’s four million Instagram Followers, who believe the post is inappropriate.

    “I’m not sure if you realized that you posted the photo on Manson’s 81st birthday…#badtiming,” one follower wrote.

    Another said, “I’m sure she would be proud that you are celebrating her on her killers bday.”

    Sharon Tate died on August 9, 1969, when members of Charles Manson’s cult broke into her home in Beverly Hills and stabbed the 26-year-old actress to death. Sharon Tate was pregnant when she died.

    Manson is in prison, serving nine consecutive life sentences at California’s Corcoran State Prison.

    People responded to Lindsay Lohan’s bizarre post in a couple of ways. Some assumed she knew it was Charles Manson’s birthday, while others hoped she didn’t know, and that her game of dress-up was nothing but a fluke.

    If there was a good answer to the last Tweet, then there would be answers for many of the other bizarre things Lindsay Lohan has done throughout the past few years. Dressing up like Sharon Tate just drives home the fact that the young, troubled actress doesn’t have her act together–and may never have it back together again.

    Sharon Tate’s sister Debra came very close to spending the night with her sister that fateful evening when Charles Manson’s “family” came calling. So when she heard about Manson’s upcoming nuptials, she had something to say.

    Don’t you hate it when you tell your friends you’re getting married, and there’s always that one person who just can’t make up their mind to be happy for you?

    Charles Manson finally found someone to call his own. It’s probably tough, what with that swastika tattooed between his eyes. Well, that and the murders.

    This is what Manson is now: a punchline; a trending story alongside OJ Simpson, Kim Kardashian’s oiled-up butt, and Bill Cosby’s latest rape accusation.

    But Charles Manson led a group of murderers. Those murderers killed a young actress names Sharon Tate. She was pregnant, almost ready to deliver. So when her sister dogs Charles Manson, she’s coming from someplace deep.

    “It’s always something with him,” she said. “I wonder how long it will take for her to figure out this is just a con. It makes me wonder what is missing in her life that she would want to marry an 80-year-old man. Is she a victim? Is she mentally deranged?”

    Manson’s intended, one Afton Elaine Burton, is not some newcomer to the Manson game. She moved to be nearer to his prison home nine years ago. Back in August of this year, she started the paperwork to marry Manson.

    “I’ll tell you straight up, Charlie and I are going to get married.” she said then. “When that will be, we don’t know. But I take it very seriously. Charlie is my husband. Charlie told me to tell you this.”

    But Mason himself shrugged it off.

    “Oh that,” he said. “That’s a bunch of garbage. You know that, man. That’s trash. We’re just playing that for public consumption.”

    It looks like Manson just says what he wants to whenever he wants. What are they going to do? Throw him in jail?

    When Debra Tate speaks out about Charles Manson, she is following in the footsteps of her own mother. Doris Tate campaigned for the rights of victims’ families to be able to speak to sentencing and parole hearings about how long a violent criminal should be in jail and whether they should be allowed out.

    Sharon Tate’s sister is outraged that the man responsible for her sister’s death, cult leader Charles Manson, has been given a marriage license to marry a 26-year-old fan, calling it “ludicrous” and “insane.”

    Debra Tate, whose pregnant sister was slain in 1969 by Manson’s “family,” has spent the better part of her life trying to keep her sister’s murderer behind bars and out of the spotlight.

    However, with the news that the 80-year-old has been granted a marriage license to wed Afton Elaine Burton — who has been his greatest supporter in recent years and has helped keep him in the news — Tate is having a difficult time keeping attention away from the convicted murderer.

    ‘It’s always something with him,’ she said.

    Tate just can’t grasp why the young woman would devote her life to a man who committed one of the worst crimes of the 20th Century.

    ‘I wonder how long it will take for her to figure out this is just a con,’ Tate said. ‘It makes me wonder what is missing in her life that she would want to marry an 80-year-old man. Is she a victim? Is she mentally deranged?’

    Tate said Manson‘s bride-to-be, known as “Star,” seems to be under the delusion that the killer is leading a movement to save the environment.

    Manson may have been granted a marriage license, but he won’t be getting too intimate with his new bride. According to TMZ, he will be allowed to kiss his bride on their wedding day, but that’s as far as it will go.

    Sharon Tate’s sister Debra Tate is like most Americans when it comes to the controversial marriage of notorious murderer Charles Manson.

    She doesn’t understand why he would even be allowed to marry.

    According to Fox News, Tate has spent years fighting the system to make sure Manson spends the rest of his life in prison.

    So, of course she finds this latest development to be quite “ludicrous.”  Now, she’s speaking out about her displeasure of the entire debacle.

    “It’s always something with him,” she said. Apparently Manson’s bride-to-be, 26-year-old Afton Elaine Burton, has absolutely no idea who he really is.

    Several media outlets have reported that Burton believes he’s an environmental enthusiast focused on “saving the environment.” However, Tate definitely isn’t buying it. “I wonder how long it will take for her to figure out this is just a con,” Tate said.

    “It makes me wonder what is missing in her life that she would want to marry an 80-year-old man. Is she a victim? Is she mentally deranged?”

    But, there’s no doubt she’s committed to him. Shocking details about their relationship definitely prove she’s committed to making things work regardless of his incarceration.

    Burton reportedly moved to Corcoran, California at the age of 17 just to be closer to Corcoran State Prison.

    Although Burton claims to be “in love” with the 80-year-old convicted murderer, many speculate Manson’s motives for marriage are simply for personal gain.

    She has openly professed her love for him and intends to fight for his exoneration. If she marries him, she’ll reportedly have access to his personal information, which would normally be denied to people considered nonrelatives.

    However, Tate is fighting to make sure he’s never released. She’s also working to prevent the spread of his following on the Internet.

    “I don’t want any more heinous actions by another family like his because of something I didn’t do,” Tate said.

  • Sharon Tate’s Sister Calls Charles Manson’s Marriage Ludicrous

    Mass murderer Charles Manson recently made headlines when he obtained his marriage license to marry his 26-year-old groupie Afton Elaine Burton, also known as “Star,” and now one of the victim’s sisters is speaking out calling the impending nuptials “ludicrous” and “insane.”

    According to ABC News, Manson and his followers Leslie Van Houten, Patricia Krenwinkel, and Susan Atkins were convicted in the gruesome slayings of Sharon Tate, the pregnant wife of director Roman Polanski, and four others on the night of August 9, 1969. Two others, Leno and Rosemary LaBianca, were killed the next night.

    Sharon’s sister Debra Tate has spent the majority of her adult life making sure that Manson remains in prison, and is outraged that he has received permission to get married.

    Debra explained that Burton believes Manson is leading a movement to save the environment. Burton even wore a shirt while speaking to the Associated Press that read ATWA, which stands for air, trees, water, animals.

    “I wonder how long it will take for her to figure out this is just a con,” Tate said. “It makes me wonder what is missing in her life that she would want to marry an 80-year-old man. Is she a victim? Is she mentally deranged?”

    Since Sharon’s death, Debra has made sure to attend every parole hearing Manson has, arguing on behalf of her sister on why he and his followers should remain in prison.

    “I don’t want any more heinous actions by another family like his because of something I didn’t do,” she said.

    Prison officials explained that Manson and Burton will be allowed to have a private ceremony in the prison. They are allowed to invite ten outside guests, and will be allowed to kiss and hold hands during the ceremony. While Burton is allowed to wear whatever she likes, Manson will be wearing his prison scrubs. Manson will not be restrained during the ceremony, but will not be allowed any physical contact after the ceremony is over.

  • Charles Manson Denied Parole For Last Time

    Infamous killer and mastermind Charles Manson was denied parole today for the 12th–and presumably last–time. He did not attend the hearing.

    77-year old Manson was originally given the death sentence in 1972 for his role in orchestrating the murders of seven people, including pregnant actress Sharon Tate, but the sentence was overturned after California declared capital punishment unconstitutional. He won’t be given another chance at parole for 15 years, by which time he’ll be well into this 90’s.

    While the details of the murders and the stories of those involved–including Manson–are too numerous and complicated to include here, they have been written about to get effect and at some length by people who are fascinated with the Manson Family. Prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi’s book, Helter Skelter, is particularly well-written and paints the L.A.P.D. as bearing most of the blame for a bungled investigation, due in part to their failure to connect some of the murders.

    Perhaps one of the saddest things about the deaths is that they were random. Manson Family member Susan Atkins, the young woman who ended up spilling the beans on the entire ordeal while she was in a women’s detention center, said she and the three other Family members responsible for the killings chose the Tate house because it was isolated, situated as it was in the hills. Sharon Tate was eight months pregnant with a baby boy when she was stabbed to death.

  • Charles Manson Up For Parole For 12th Time

    Charles Manson has spent a good many years in prison, avoiding a death sentence only because the state of California changed their laws in the ’70s regarding capital punishment. He was initially arrested and sentenced for the 1969 murders of pregnant actress Sharon Tate and six others in her home along with a group of his “followers”.

    It comes as no surprise that Manson hasn’t become a model citizen in the subsequent 50-odd years; authorities at the prison where he is currently incarcerated say he’s been denied parole eleven times before and committed various infractions, one of which got him back in the news last year–possession of a cell phone, on which he’d made calls to several states.

    Manson, now 77, is about to be given another chance at parole, but the odds are pretty slim that it will be granted given his behavior over the past fifteen years, which is the amount of time that’s passed since his last hearing.

    Updated photos have been released of Manson which show him looking considerably changed from the last mug shot. The most recognizable thing about him–aside from that wild-eyed stare–is the swastika tattoo on his forehead. The photos can be viewed here.
