  • Jared Fogle: What You Need To Know in Five Minutes or Less

Jared Fogle is a hot topic lately. America is a strange place in this regard. Americans love to see someone rise from obscurity to become famous and rewarded. It’s why we like talent show like American Idol. It’s why Joe the Plumber’s 15 minutes of fame stretched on and on.

Subway restaurants used that part of the American collective psyche to sell sandwiches. They took a guy who had lost 200 lbs by eating just Subway sandwiches twice a day and made him the face of their brand.

Jared Fogle went on to be worth millions. He started a foundation to fight childhood obesity. He wrote a book. He ran a marathon. He had a filmed cameo in the upcoming Sharknado installment. For years he was a wholesome, goofy face selling a product that his own experience said worked. It was a fresh alternative to celebrity endorsements. It was the reverse of that.

Then Jared Fogle answered the door at his home to have a search warrant handed to him. To date, there are no charges filed against Jared Fogle. His neighbors say he left his house wearing a hoodie as FBI agents looked on, and has never returned to the home.

Apparently, Russell Taylor, a former employee of the foundation Fogle started was arrested on child pornography charges. The man attempted suicide in jail. Fogle has not been charged with anything, but FBI agents spent 11 hours going through his home.

Subway issued a statement saying that they had a mutual agreement with Fogle to part ways.

The digging into Fogle’s past began in earnest, but this time it was not for inspirational material. Stories surfaced that Fogle ran an “adult video rental service” from his dorm room in college.

One reporter claims that Fogle told her that “middle school girls are hot.” His lawyers laughed at that one outright, since there is no record or proof that it ever happened.

Some have said they will not eat at Subway because they think Fogle is suspected of child pornography. Some say they will not eat at Subway because they canned Fogle without his ever having been charged with anything.

The producers of Sharknado 3 pulled the Jared Fogle cameo from their upcoming airing of the movie.

Twitter has not been kind to Jared Fogle lately.

  • Elizabeth Banks Disses Tara Reid, She Gets A Response

Tara Reid took the high road and came out a bit classier than Elizabeth Banks this time around.

The Sharknado actress was not-so subtly dissed by Banks in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter.

During the interview, the Hunger Games actress was asked about her early days in Hollywood. And while discussing how hard Hollywood can be to actresses once they reach a certain age, the new director took a surprising swipe at Reid.

“There was a group of us girls coming up,” Banks recounted. “A lot of us are surviving. Some of us are not. I used to go to auditions with Tara Reid. So, you know, we didn’t all make it. We’re not all still here.”

The 41-year-old then added for good measure “but I loved Sharknado.”

Reid admittedly used to be more known than Banks when she appeared in the American Pie series. She was also seen in TV shows like Scrubs but for the past few years, the 39-year-old actress has been more known for her partying, straight to DVD releases and for the campy Sharknado movies.

On the other hand, Banks’ star is rising. The actress has been seen in popular movies like the Hunger Games and The Lego Movie.

However, the swipe against Reid in the interview was surprising and puzzling as it came out of nowhere.

But to Reid’s credit, she didn’t rise to the provocation and opted to take the high road.

When asked by gossip website TMZ about Banks’ comments, Reid replied that “I’ve always been a fan of [Banks’] work and that’s sad to hear she said those things about me.

The Sharknado 3 star also added that if she does run into her erstwhile contemporary, she would still “smile and say, hi.”

Good job there, Reid! Banks should be feeling like a right jerk by now.

  • Elizabeth Banks Takes Dig At Tara Reid, Reid Takes The High Road

Elizabeth Banks is never one to shy away from the cold, hard truth.

And it’s that kind of attitude that led Elizabeth Banks to say some pretty disparaging, but true, things about one of the ladies she began her Hollywood career with.

Elizabeth Banks began at the bottom with bit parts in movies and television, and has now made her way into a very small circle of women who have directed hit films in Hollywood.

While Elizabeth Banks was at the bottom, she shared auditions with a young and vibrant Tara Reid.

In an interview for The Hollywood Reporter, Elizabeth Banks was talking about how life in Hollywood is hard for actresses that reach a certain age when she dropped this little jewel, saying, “There was a group of us girls coming up. A lot of us are surviving. Some of us are not. I used to go to auditions with Tara Reid. So, you know, we didn’t all make it. We’re not all still here.”

Thanks Roma, Paris, Berlin and London! #PitchPerfect2 watch @rebelwilson on @theGNshow tonight!

A photo posted by Elizabeth Banks (@elizabethbanks) on

But Elizabeth Banks quickly added, “I do love Sharknado.”

    That’s harsh. And true.

However, despite the hard truth thrust in her face by Elizabeth Banks, Tara Reid has taken the high road.

She said, “I’ve always been a fan of her work and that’s sad to hear she said those things about me.”

She went on to say that if she met Elizabeth Banks on the street she would still “smile and say, ‘Hi.’”

Aw, poor Tara Reid. I wonder if an apology is coming soon from Elizabeth Banks? That must make her feel like a little bit of a jerk.

Nothing better then spending St Pattys day with @planetjedward and @ianziering

However, I don’t really see Elizabeth Banks as the apologetic type.

    What do you think?

  • Elizabeth Banks On Hollywood Success and Tara Reid: ‘Some of Us Are Surviving. Some of Us Are Not’

Elizabeth Banks shared her thoughts on longevity and, in the process, sorta, kinda dissed Tara Reid.

Elizabeth Banks talked about her career with The Hollywood Reporter recently and said her successful career is only dreamed about for many aspiring actresses.

Acknowledging how hard it is for actresses once they reach a certain age, she said it’s just as difficult in those early days because the competition is just so great.

“There was a group of us girls coming up. A lot of us are surviving. Some of us are not,” Elizabeth Banks, who has added director to her resume for Pitch Perfect 2, told the magazine bluntly. “I used to go to auditions with Tara Reid. So, you know, we didn’t all make it. We’re not all still here.”

“[But]I do love Sharknado,” she added, perhaps to soften the blow.

Elizabeth Banks attributes her success, in part, to her insatiable need to learn and grow.

“I don’t stay in my trailer,” she shared. “I like to sit in video village, probably to the annoyance of some producers and directors, because they really love to talk about actors and they can’t in front of me.”

Elizabeth Banks feels she has a lot riding on her directorial debut with the Pitch Perfect sequel.

“The list of women who get to make studio-level films is very short,” she said. “And I’m not quite in that club yet. Until this movie comes out, then we’ll see. This shoot is the test. I like to get A’s.”

Do you think Elizabeth Banks went to far in her comments about Tara Reid?

  • Bo Derek Blows Talent Curve in Sharknado 3

Bo Derek’s film career has not always been the most consistent thing. She will forever be known as the hot body with braids running through the surf in the movie 10. But that was back in 1979 and only her second role. Since then, Bo Derek has managed to accumulate a total of only 33 credits, including one in Tommy Boy with Chris Farley where, as Farley joked, she looked a lot like her character from 10, and two others where she is credited as herself.

If Bo Derek’s career does not display depth — or even width — it is certainly not guilty of being unrecognizable. And it is her iconic name and look that the producers of Sharknado 3 are hoping to trade on by casting her in the latest installment of the SyFy annual throwdown.

Bo Derek is slated to play May, the mother of April, played in all the installments by Tara Reid. Reid and Ian Ziering, who regularly plays Fin, have seen their careers brought back from the dead by the Sharknado series of movies.

Bo Derek joins other confirmed guest stars such as Jerry Springer, Chris Kirkpatrick from ‘N Sync, and wrestler Chris Jericho.

Another big name joining Bo Derek in the annual SyFy tradition of ridiculousness is billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban. Perhaps there is a Shark Tank/Sharknado connection they are aiming for. In this round, Cuban will play none other than the President of the United States.

“I’m doing it,” Cuban told Fox Sports recently. “Why not? It’ll be fun.”

Cuban pops up from time to time, doing commercials and other spots. In addition to his Shark Tank residency, Cuban once did a turn on the dance floor in Dancing with the Stars.

What has garnered more press than perhaps any other guest star announcement for Sharknado 3 is who would be playing Cuban’s vice president. Joining the billionaire as he runs the shark-plagued nation is none other than conservative political pundit Ann Counter.

Anthony C. Ferrante, who has directed all the Sharknado installments, will return to direct the newest one.

  • Bo Derek Will Be Tara Reid’s Mom. Because Sometimes Apples Fall Far.

Bo Derek, most famous as the perfect braided bod in 10, which she later kinda-sorta nodded to in Tommy Boy with Chris Farley, is now on board for Sharknado 3 on SyFy.

Bo Derek is slated to play May, the mother of April — I’m not making this up — who is, of course, played in all the installments by Tara Reid. Reid and actor Ian Ziering, who plays Fin, have sen their careers — or at least headline recognition — revived by the Sharknado series of movies.

Bo Derek joins other confirmed guest stars such as Jerry Springer, who plays a nutjob tourist; Chris Kirkpatrick from ‘N Sync, who plays a pool lifeguard; and Chris Jericho, who plays a roller-coaster ride operator.

Another big name joining Bo Derek in the annual SyFy tradition of ridiculousness is billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban. In this round, Cuban will play none other than the President of the United States.

“I’m doing it,” Cuban told Fox Sports recently. “Why not? It’ll be fun.”

Cuban is not afraid to let it all hang out there. In addition to his Shark Tank residency, Cuban once did a turn on the dance floor in Dancing with the Stars.

But another big surprise was who would be playing Cuban’s vice-president. Joining the magnate as he runs the shark-plagued nation is none other than conservative political pundit Ann Counter.

    Let the jokes begin.

Anthony C. Ferrante, who has directed all the Sharknado installments, will return to direct the newest one.

  • Ann Coulter Will Be Vice-President

Ann Coulter is adding another item to her résumé — vice-president. As in Vice-President of the United States.

A statement like that is kind of a Rorschach test. Half of you can breathe easy. Ann Coulter is not running for anything. She has been tapped to play the vice-president in the latest installment of SyFy ridiculousness that is Sharknado.

Sharknado 3 will have Ann Coulter as vice-president to Mark Cuban’s president. In this latest round, the storm starts out in Washington, DC before moving on down to Florida.

Cuban has already confirmed his own involvement in the film with a quick answer to Fox Sports.

“I’m doing it,” Cuban told the network recently. “Why not? It’ll be fun.”

Ann Coulter and Cuban join other guest stars like Bo Derek, Jerry Springer, Chris Kirkpatrick from ‘N Sync, and pro wrestler Chris Jericho.

Sharknado staples Tara Reid and Ian Ziering, who play April and Fin, are of course back on board.

Bo Derek will play April’s mother, May. I’m not making this up.

Jerry Springer plays a nutjob tourist. Chris Kirkpatrick plays a pool lifeguard. Chris Jericho plays a roller-coaster ride operator.

Anthony C. Ferrante, who has directed all the Sharknado installments, will return to direct the newest one.

While the entire film series is a hallmark of outrageousness on the very face of it, casting Ann Coulter as the vice-president has set off a wave of taunting and jokes in social media circles.

  • Tara Reid, Ian Ziering Sign on for ‘Sharknado 3’

Tara Reid and Ian Ziering are ready to do it again. The two have signed on for Sharknado 3, which is set to air in July 2015. The SyFy phenomenon will once again feature Tara Reid as April Wexler and Ian Ziering as Fin Shepard.

SyFy made an official announcement about the upcoming TV movie, telling fans that Sharknado 3 will start in Washington, D.C., and “will cause mass destruction in the nation’s capital then roar down the Eastern Seaboard.”

Time magazine reports that director Anthony C. Ferrante is back on board too. Thunder Levin is writing the script.

The first Sharknado was about a freak hurricane that whipped deadly sharks into the air throughout Los Angeles. It became an internet sensation back in 2012 and was followed–just as successfully–by Sharknado 2: The Second One in July of 2013. The network also revealed this week that the sequel became the most watched original movie the network had ever aired. It brought in 3.9 million viewers.

Tara Reid joked about the possibility of a Sharknado incident coming to life during an interview last summer.

“You know, it actually can happen,” she said at the time. “I mean, the chances of it happening are very rare, but it can happen actually. Which is crazy. Not that it—the chances of it are, like, you know, it’s like probably ‘pigs could fly.’ Like, I don’t think pigs could fly, but actually sharks could be stuck in tornados. There could be a ‘sharknado.’”

Aside from the Sharknado franchise, Tara Reid is known for roles in Saved by the Bell: The New Class, Days of Our Lives, California Dreams, and Scrubs. She shared a nude Instagram photo with her followers to ring in 2015. Ian Ziering is best known for his role as Steve Sanders on Beverly Hills, 90210. He is presently a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice.

Will you be tuning in in July to see Tara Reid and Ian Ziering reprise their roles as April Wexler and Fin Shepard in Sharknado 3?

  • Tara Reid Tweets Her Excitement After She and Ian Ziering Sign On For ‘Sharknado 3’ — ‘WooHoo’

Tara Reid and Ian Ziering will once again take on those pesky sharks when Sharknado 3 hits the small screen in July.

Reid, 39, and Ziering, 50, will reprise their roles for the Syfy film as April Wexler and Fin Shepard, the on-again-off-again married couple who somehow manage to save the world from sharks that get caught up in crazy weather and wreck havoc on humanity.

Syfy confimed the sequel at the 2015 Television Critics Association winter press tour Thursday and said the third installment will begin in Washington, D.C., and “will cause mass destruction in the nation’s capital then roar down the Eastern Seaboard.”

The first Sharknado film, set in Los Angeles, became an Internet sensation in July 2013. Sharknado 2: The Second One followed in July 2014 and was set in New York.

According to Syfy, the sequel became the most watched original movie the network had ever aired, bringing in 3.9 million viewers in a single sitting. Needless to say, the third film installment was ordered even before the second premiered.

Reid took to Twitter Thursday afternoon to announce the film and share her excitement.

Thunder Levin, the genius behind Sharknado, also tweeted about the announcement.

Reid said last year in an interview for GQ that a Sharknado could legitimately happen in real life.

“You know, it actually can happen,” she told the magazine in July. “I mean, the chances of it happening are very rare, but it can happen actually. Which is crazy. Not that it—the chances of it are, like, you know, it’s like probably ‘pigs could fly.’ Like, I don’t think pigs could fly, but actually sharks could be stuck in tornados. There could be a sharknado.”

  • Tara Reid Says Humor in ‘Sharknado’ Movies Comes From Playing It Seriously

Actress Tara Reid says the humor found in the campy disaster movies Sharknado and Sharnado 2: The Second One comes from the actors playing their roles very seriously, even though the situations the actors found themselves in were completely ridiculous at times.

“Even though the situation was crazy, you had to play it serious,” the actress told reporters in a teleconference recently. “If you were playing it, laughing all the time, the story line wouldn’t even make sense. It’s like taking it serious in such an absurd, crazy environment and that’s where the jokes come in. That’s where it gets funny, so you really do have to commit to your character and also know what you are playing. And being in that situation that you’re in and playing it serious, then there comes in the humor.”

The SyFy Network’s Sharknado movies tell the tales of freak weather phenomena that dump man-eating sharks from tornados on cities like Los Angeles and New York. Both installments were huge hits for the network and became social media phenomena of their own accord.

In both installments, Reid plays the character, April, and together with her ex-husband Fin, played by Ian Ziering, they take on the sharks.

Reid told UPI the success of the first installment did not affect her approach to playing April.

“It was exciting that the first one was such a hit, but I don’t think that changed how we performed or affected us any way like that,” said Reid. “We were hoping to make another big, fun film that people would enjoy.”

The 38-year-old actress said the excitement to reunite once again to film Sharknado 2 was palpable for the entire cast.

“The vibe on the set was great,” she said. “We got lucky. Everyone truly got along in the movie and had a great time with each other and I think that shows.”

  • Tara Reid Launches New Sharknado-Inspired Perfume

Tara Reid is striking while the iron is hot. The American Pie actress is capitalizing on the buzz generated by Syfy’s premiere of Sharknado 2: The Second One which aired on Wednesday night. The sequel was actually the channel’s most watched original movie ever, besting even the original Sharknado. So it appears that Reid, who starred in both the original Sharknado and the sequel, is picking the perfect time to launch her new fragrance called Shark by Tara.

The perfume sells for $24.95 and can be purchased directly on Reid’s website. The question is whether the Sharknado-inspired scent smells of seawater and fish.

Apparently not, here’s the description of the fragrance: Shark by Tara is a light and refreshing perfume perfect for day-to-day wear. It also incorporates a plethora of “lavender” colored flowers, which is Tara’s favorite color, making them a true fit for Shark by Tara.

Why is “lavender” in quotes? And what does the color lavender smell like?

The original Sharknado, which aired in July 2013, had 1.4 million viewers, and also tons of social media buzz. The sequel not only brought in almost 4 million viewers on Wednesday night, but 1.8 million of those viewers fell into the highly sought-after 18-49 demo.

If you missed the premiere of Sharknado 2: The Second One, it will re-air on Syfy Saturday, August 2 at 7 pm and then again on Sunday, August 3 at 9 pm. And if you buy Reid’s new perfume, let us know what you think of it in the comments section below.

  • Sharknado 2 Beats the Original, on Twitter and on TV

Did you watch the Syfy original movie Sharknado 2: The Second One Wednesday night? Did you talk about it on Twitter? Good for you – you’re just like everyone else. Nerd.

The B-movie series that has captivated a nation premiered its second installment last night, and if you go by the ratings and social media numbers, it took a bite out of the record books.

The official ratings are in, and Sharknado 2 had 3.9 million viewers last night. That makes it the most-watched movie in the history of the Syfy network. And in that coveted 18-49 demographic, Sharknado 2 garnered 1.6 million viewers, which is actually more that the original got on premiere night – total.

    Also, check this out:

It appears that Sharknado 2 bested its predecessor by a huge margin – a pretty notable feat considering social media is mostly to blame (credit?) for Sharknado’s cyclonic thrust into the cultural zeitgeist in the first place.

According to Syfy, that large volume of tweets generated over a billion total impressions.

And that’s why Sharknado 3, which is already a go, will likely best this one.

While you’re here, enjoy Richard Kind teeing off on some baby sharks. If you watched the film, you know that the amount of cameos in this thing is off the charts.

  • Tara Reid Wants The Media To See Her As An Adult

Tara Reid has made a comeback of sorts with the campy SyFy hits Sharknado and Sharknado 2: The Second One, and although she’s been working since her role in the American Pie films, many of them were direct-to-video movies that never got the attention her previous work did. Now that she’s back in the spotlight, she says she wants the media to view her as an adult, rather than the party girl she got a reputation for when she was younger.

“Throughout the years I’ve lost the credibility of how much I did have, with things that weren’t always in my favor. I was the first one. I was before Paris Hilton, before Lindsay Lohan. I’m the oldest one, and I started selling their magazines. They still want to make me that. The magazines aren’t even letting me grow up, and that’s what’s hurting me with the character roles. They need to let me be the woman I am now, not the girl. There’s a big difference,” she said.

Reid is well aware that her latest films–about shark-infested tornadoes that terrorize the country–won’t get her any Oscar nods, but she is grateful to be working in a business that doesn’t always portray her in the best light.

“I feel like a cartoon. Because that’s what sells. Let’s write a bad story about Tara. Let’s show her drunk. Let’s show a party girl. Let’s show the worst situations…they still talk about stories from 10 years ago, my dress falling down or something ridiculous. That’s so old. It’s not even funny,” she said.

Reid says she knows she’s capable of tackling more serious roles as the adult she is, but unfortunately that’s in the hands of the studio execs. For now, though, she can take comfort in the fact that the first Sharknado film was uproariously successful and was the most talked-about television event on Twitter the week it premiered.

“Sharknado was an extraordinary ‘perfect storm’ which captured the attention of movie fans across the globe,” Syfy’s executive vice president Thomas Vitale said after the sequel was announced. “You couldn’t go anywhere without hearing about Sharknado! By reassembling the creative team–and dropping sharks onto New York’s iconic sites–we’re unleashing yet another ‘fin’ wave of shark-mania.”

  • Sharknado 2: Could It Really Happen?

Sharknado 2: Could It Really Happen?

If you have seen the movie Sharknado, you’ve probably thought about how unlikely it would be that the events in the movie would happen in real life.

While it’s not likely that a storm carrying sharks will ever occur in the United States or any part of the world, Tara Reid wants everyone to know that it could happen.

“You know, it actually can happen,” she said.

Sounds crazy right? She’s actually not too far off. There have been many incidents where storms and tornados have picked up animals and tossed them out in other locations. These animals are usually much smaller than sharks. Frogs, fish and birds are the most common animals to be picked up and rained down during a bad storm. While it is possible, it is very unlikely that a shark would be picked up in a storm and thrown out somewhere else.

You may never have to worry about a sharknado in real life, but if you ever do find yourself in a situation where large hungry sharks are raining down on you, take Mark McGrath’s advice if you want to survive.

“You have to stay calm, okay? Because everybody else is freaking out,” he said. “And you have to be good friends with Ian Ziering. If you’re part of Ian’s group, you got a 50/50 chance of survival.”

  • Tara Reid Took Her Role In ‘Sharknado’ Seriously

Even though she found herself in absurd and awkward situations, actress Tara Reid says she took her role in the low-budget television films, Sharknado and Sharknado 2: The Second One, very seriously. Reid said she committed herself completely to her character, even when she was in crazy situations.

The first Sharknado film featured man eating sharks being dumped by a massive storm on Los Angeles, and was an instant hit and social media phenomenon. In the second film, the plot remains quite similar, however the sharks are flying through New York City.

“Even though the situation was crazy, you had to play it serious,” Reid said in a recent teleconference.

Reid said she was excited to work on the sequel, and hoped to make another film that her fans would like equally as well. “It was exciting that the first one was such a hit, but I don’t think that changed how we performed or affected us any way like that,” Reid told UPI. “We were hoping to make another big, fun film that people would enjoy.”

  • Tara Reid Offers Sneak Peek Of “Sharknado 2”

If you loved Sharknado, get ready for the sequel because it’s almost time for Sharknado 2.

Fans of the first movie have been anxiously awaiting the sequel since it was announced.

Sharknado 2 will air on the Syfy channel on July 30 and according to Syfy’s executive vice president Thomas Vitale, it will not disappoint viewers.

“Sharknado was an extraordinary ‘perfect storm’ which captured the attention of movie fans across the globe,” Vitale said after the sequel was announced. “You couldn’t go anywhere without hearing about Sharknado! By reassembling the creative team–and dropping sharks onto New York’s iconic sites–we’re unleashing yet another ‘fin’ wave of shark-mania.”

A trailer for Sharknado 2 starring Ian Ziering was recently released, giving fans a sneak peak of what they can expect from the new movie. Reid did not appear in the trailer, but she did present it.

Sharnado 2 takes place in New York City. Reid and Ziering’s characters soon find that the same weather system that brought the sharks in the first movie is back to wreak havoc on New York. Having survived a deadly sharknado before, they know that they are the only ones who can help save the city.

A variety of new characters show up in the sequel, and it is sure to deliver just as many laughs and questions as the first.

Part of the reason so many people love Sharknado is because it is so random and ridiculous. The bad acting and unlikely storyline makes it one of those movies you love to hate.

Sharknado will likely have the same effect on viewers and many people are hoping it is even better than the first.

What did you think of the Sharknado 2 sneak peek and are you ready to watch the full film when it airs on Syfy later this month?

  • Jason Biggs Apologizes To Tara Reid

Jason Biggs has issued an apology to Tara Reid after making fun of her body.

During a recent appearance on Joan Rivers’ show In Bed With Joan, Biggs took part in Rivers’ game called “Live or Die.” Rivers asked Biggs, who currently plays the character Larry on Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, if he had to choose, would he save Lindsay Lohan or Tara Reid. Biggs responded Lindsay Lohan.

“Lindsay Lohan stays,” he said. “She’s got nice boobs. She really does. Lindsay’s got nice boobs. Tara’s body, I don’t know what’s going on with it. I don’t think she ever knows what’s going on with it.”

“And Lindsay does?” Rivers asked. “Lindsay doesn’t know what’s going on with Tara’s body either,” Biggs replied. “No one knows what’s going on with Tara’s body.”

This isn’t the first time that the former American Pie star has called out Reid. In October 2013, Biggs referred to Reid as a “hot mess” while appearing on an episode of Watch What Happens Live. After hearing of Biggs comments, the Sharknado star took to Twitter to respond to his stupidity. “It’s really sad I just landed in LA and the first thing I read about you that you are calling me a hot mess. I’ve supported u,” she tweeted.

Apparently Biggs feels bad about what he told Rivers, or he simply doesn’t want his name circulating through the tabloids, because he issued an apology to Reid via Twitter.

“The same tabloids that make a spectacle out of @TaraReid ‘s body- insulting her without hesitation- are now trying to make a “story” out of my comment made on a COMEDY show about how no one knows what’s going on with her body. @TaraReid,” Biggs tweeted. “I am sorry if that hurt you. But please do not ignore the irony and hypocrisy that is behind these “news” sources trying to create a feud for the sole benefit of their rag publications. Sorry again if I offended you. I look forward to my “diss” disappearing, along with this made-up fight.”

So far, Reid nor her reps have responded to Biggs’ comments.

  • Sharknado 2 Casts Mark McGrath, Kelly Osbourne; Will Begin Production Next Week

Sharknado, or the B movie that conquered Twitter last summer, is getting a sequel–but you probably know that.

We already knew that both Tara Reid and Ian Ziering had signed on for Sharknado 2: The Second One, and now we have some more casting news to report–much of it coming straight out of 1997. Deadline says that the Sharknado sequel will star Vivica A. Fox, Mark McGrath, Kelly Osbourne, Andy Dick, Judah Friedlander, and Judd Hirsch. Andy Dick will be playing a police officer, so there’s that.

As you can see from one version of the Sharknado 2 poster, tweets matter. In fact, the SyFy original can attribute a majority of the success of the original Sharknado to internet buzz. Seriously, if you lived through the great Sharknado obsession of July, 2013, then you know exactly what I’m talking about.

Sharknado 2: The Second One will see the shark-powered tornado wreak havoc on New York City (hence the Statue of Liberty in the poster).

Production on the new movies is set to begin next week.

  • Tara Reid and Ian Ziering Sign on for Sharknado 2

The chainsaw-wielding, shark-slaying duo are back! Tara Reid and Ian Ziering have signed on for a Sharknado sequel to debut on Syfy in July.

They will return as Fin and April in Sharknado 2: The Second One, ready to battle the hungry sharks as the deadly weather system descends upon New York City, wrecking havoc on people and famous landmarks.

Syfy considered hiring an entirely new cast, sources said, but negotiations finally resolved any lingering issues and the pair signed on this week.

Sharknado was an extraordinary ‘perfect storm’ which captured the attention of movie fans across the globe,” said Thomas Vitale, executive vice president of programming and original movies at Syfy. “You couldn’t go anywhere without hearing about ‘Sharknado’! By reassembling the creative team — and dropping sharks onto New York’s iconic sites — we’re unleashing yet another ‘fin’ wave of shark-mania.”

Sharknado took on the world by storm and social media in July when it aired for the first time. It was one of those “OMG, this is so bad… but it’s SO good.” kind of movies. It attracted 1.4 million viewers with 566,000 of them in the age range of 18-49, which is the most important demographic for advertisers and for the network. During it’s peak, the movie generated 5,000 tweets per minute.

Reid and Ziering started the next wave of tweets for the sequel:

Producer Paul Bales of The Asylum, the company responsible for bringing Sharknado to viewers said, “We’re thrilled to be able to bring back the talent that made Sharknado a hit. Can lightning strike twice? I don’t know, but it’s a scientific fact that you’re more likely to be killed by lightning than by a shark. This film will have lightning and sharks, so that’s got to count for something.”

Filming of the sequel is scheduled to begin Feb. 13 on location in New York City.

  • Tara Reid To Star In Sharknado 2

Are you ready for Sharknado 2? You had better be, because Tara Reid has just signed on for the sequel. If you didn’t catch the first Sharknado, you missed a chance to make fun of a horrible movie. Sharknado starred Tara Reid and Ian Ziering and tells the story of a storm that causes a tornado so powerful it sucks sharks up from the ocean and shoots them back out across a seaside town.

While the movie was definitely entertaining, many people thought it was more fun to make fun of than to actually watch.

Sharknado 2: The Second One will show what happens when a strange weather pattern causes a Sharknado to strike New York City. Fin (Ziering) and April (Reid) having dealt with a Sharknado before are the only ones who can save the city from the sharks.

Sharknado was an extraordinary ‘perfect storm’ which captured the attention of movie fans across the globe,” said Thomas Vitale, executive vice president of programming and original movies at Syfy. “You couldn’t go anywhere without hearing about Sharknado!

That may be true, but in most cases, people were referencing Sharknado for jokes or as an example of a bad movie. Nevertheless, it has become one of those films that you love to hate and just have to watch. If Sharknado 2: The Second One is anything like the first, it will be just as enjoyably bad.

What did you think of >Sharknado and are you excited to watch Tara Reid star in Sharknado 2: The Second One?

  • Tara Reid and Ian Ziering Set to Shoot Sharknado 2

It really was just an inevitability, after the unexpected success of the Syfy original B-movie Sharknado, there had to be sequel. It’s now been confirmed that both Tara Reid and Ian Ziering will reprise their roles as April and Fin for Sharknado 2: The Second One.

The American Pie actress and The Beverly Hills 90210 hunk will start shooting the sequel in a couple weeks. The major difference between the two films is location. Sharknado 2 moves to New York City from Los Angeles after a crazy weather system disrupts the Big Apple and sharks invade the city.

The original Sharknado aired in July, 2013. The story is about what happens when a freaky hurricane crushes Los Angeles and hungry sharks take over the city. Ziering plays hero and rescues his ex-wife (Reid) and their teenage daughter. They ultimately defeat the sharks by throwing bombs from a helicopter, shooting them out of the air and even chainsawing through them from the inside out.

The strange thing, okay one of the strangest things, is that Sharknado was only watched by about 1 million viewers. The average number for this sort of common Syfy movie is closer to 1.5 million. So then why is there going to be a sequel? And why does everyone in country know what you’re talking about when you say “Sharknado?”

The internet really gave the movie a large boost. It seemed the whole world was on Twitter and Facebook talking about the absurd, silliness of what would happen if a tornado and a deluge of sharks attacked a major city.

The idea of “Sharknado” has become a punchline in many a joke on Twitter since the movie first aired last summer.

You can expect to see the sequel on Syfy this July.
