Selena Gomez Headed to Netflix in “13 Reasons Why”

Selena Gomez is headed to Netflix. The “Good for You” and “Same Old Love” singer is set to star in a miniseries called 13 Reasons Why.

Based on author Jay Asher’s young adult novel of the same name, 13 Reasons Why “is the story of Hanna Baker, a high schooler who commits suicide. Clay, who has yet to be cast, receives a box of tapes from Hannah, his late classmate and crush after she kills herself. In addition to starring in the miniseries, Selena Gomez will also serve as executive producer, along with mom Mandy Teefy and Kristel Laiblin.

This exciting news comes right after Selena Gomez celebrated the release of her latest album. “Revival” already features two hit tracks, and is the most mature work Selena Gomez has ever done.

In addition to her music, Selena Gomez has made a name for herself in the acting world. She started at Disney with Wizards of Waverly Place, starred in Spring Breakers, and recently voiced a role in Transylvania 2.

It’s uncertain when Selena Gomez’s Netflix project will premiere.

  • Selena Gomez: Is She Giving Up Her Music Career?

Selena Gomez: Is She Giving Up Her Music Career?

Selena Gomez just released her new album, “Revival,” but some publications say she is ready to give up her music career? Is this the truth or just a rumor?

According to a report from Hollywood Life, it couldn’t be further from the truth.

“Selena is still all about acting and music, they will always be a package deal. She may take a hiatus from one or the other from time to time but she will never fully quit from either. She will always be a singer and an actress no matter what!” a source tells them.

Ok! Magazine says the rumor isn’t a rumor, but cold, hard fact instead.

“Underneath her spirited facade, Selena is a mess. She cries all the time thinking about all the hypocrisy and backstabbing that comes with the entertainment industry. This album will be her last,” they reported on October 23rd.

“This is my time. I’ve deserved this. I earned it. This is all me,” Selena Gomez said in a recent interview.

That doesn’t sound like someone who is ready to throw in the towel.

“I am ready to get back on the road and see my fans in person!” she added. “This album marks a new and very important chapter in my life. I cannot wait to get on stage and perform this new material.”

Selena Gomez has already proven with her single “Good for You” that her sound is far more sultry and way more grown up than any music she has done before.

This is likely only the beginning of something really big for Selena Gomez.

Do you think it sounds like she’s ready to give up her music career?

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber collaborated on a new single that leaked this weekend on Drake’s OVO Sound Radio show on Beats 1 Radio.

Yes, you read that correctly. Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber–together.

Called “Strong,” the track features the former love birds trading lyrics throughout its duration.

“What should I do? Should I go? / Who do I talk to? Nobody knows,” Justin Bieber sings

Shortly thereafter, Selena Gomez croons, “Wishing I was better at this damn thing / Cause it’s just been too long and I can’t change.”

All uploads of Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber’s new song were quickly removed from all streaming sites, since the release wasn’t an official one. That means fans of either or both can’t buy the song.

“Strong” doesn’t appear on Selena Gomez’s new album, “Revival,” that came out last week.

Justin Bieber has a new album set to release on November 13th. So far, no track list has been shared.

Might that mean this collaboration between Justin and Selena could appear on his new album?

Obviously that remains to be seen.

Might the two find their way back to one another romantically?

Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato: Twitter Trio Celebrates New Music

Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Demi Lovato have a lot in common. For example, Selena Gomez’s new album, “Revival,” was just released. So was Demi Lovato’s new album, “Confident.” Ariana Grande has a new single called “Focus” that is set to drop at the end of this month.

The three ladies became a Twitter trio on Saturday, as they shared a bunch of love with one another via the social media site.

Grande started things off by complimenting Lovato on her new album.

The “Cool for the Summer” singer responded.

Ariana Grande shortly thereafter Tweeted Selena Gomez, congratulating her on the release of “Revival.”

Selena Gomez kept her Tweet well below the character minimum, but summed her feelings up nicely in reply.

These three young women have an abundance of talent as solo artists. Wouldn’t it be a blast to get Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, and Demi Lovato together for a performance?

Just imagine the Tweets that kind of music would ignite.

Selena Gomez Admits She Still Questions Her Sexuality, Loved Cara Delevingne Rumors

Selena Gomez is yet another of the early 20-somethings who openly admits to having questioned her sexuality. The 23-year-old is on a whirlwind tour, promoting her new album, “Revival,” and she appears topless on its cover. It’s easy to recognize she’s comfortable with her sexuality, and has grown from a Disney Channel icon into a super sexy pop star.

“Oh, I think everybody does, no matter who they are,” she says of questioning her sexuality, in a recent interview with PrideSource. “I do, yeah, of course. Absolutely. I think it’s healthy to gain a perspective on who you are deep down, question yourself and challenge yourself; it’s important to do that.”

Her open-mindedness about her sexuality stems from stems from her upbringing.

“You have to understand: my mother is absolutely fantastic and she worked at a modeling agency when I was a very young girl, so every Sunday I would have brunch with her and all of her gays, and I just remember a lot of mimosas,” she told the website. “It was the best. So, I’ve been around it my whole life and, you know, I love it. I have to tell you: on my 16th birthday, my mom had a bunch of drag queens come out and they sang ‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)’ and it was sooo funny.”

In 2014, Selena Gomez joined pal Cara Delevingne–who is openly bisexual–for a trip to the French Riviera. Speculation about a romance between the two went viral.

“Honestly, I loved it,” she says of the rumors. “I didn’t mind it, especially because they weren’t talking about other people in my life for once, which was wonderful.”

“Honestly, though, she’s incredible and very open and she just makes me open,” Selena Gomez added of Cara Delevingne. “She’s so fun and she’s just extremely adventurous, and sometimes I just want that in my life, so I didn’t mind it. I loved it.”

Reflected in the songs on “Revival,” Selena Gomez has truly come into her own–sexually, musically, and emotionally. She is a power to be reckoned with in the music world–and one who will likely be around for a long time.

What’s your take on Selena Gomez’s candid feelings about her own sexuality?

  • Selena Gomez Talks Topless Photos, Healthy Perspective on Sexuality

Selena Gomez likely shocked fans–especially those who remember her as a Disney Channel star in The Wizards of Waverly Place–by posing topless for her new album. The “Good for You” singer says it’s all part of growing up, and of the perception fans should have of her now. Her new album, “Revival,” is indicative of a whole new Selena.

“It’s not something where I’m like, let me glorify what I do in the bedroom. But I think I have a very healthy perspective on my sexuality,” she said in a recent interview with Refinery. “It’s part of being an adult, and I’m still figuring out how to be one of those, too.”

Just one of several female stars who got their start with Disney, then turned to more grown-up ventures, Selena Gomez reflects on Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato–and how they all did things differently.

“Everyone has found their identity in a really interesting way,” she says of Lovato and Cyrus. “We didn’t come out as these robots that looked and dressed the same. We had to go through our own shit. At the end of the day, it’s respecting every female artist’s choice in how she expresses herself, because that’s what she wants.”

Someone who no doubt loves Selena Gomez’s new topless photos–but lives in a perpetual world of “too-little, too-late,” former boyfriend Justin Bieber even played a significant role in Selena growing up. Gomez says none of what the tabloids reported was as bad as it seemed.

“Of course I got my heart broken,” she says. “Of course I was pissed about it.”

“At this point, there is no anger. There’s closure in a very good, healthy way. We’ve seen each other. I’m always encouraging and I am proud of his journey. I think people are making it out to be something that is more tragic than it really was. We grew up together. We both made mistakes. That’s it.”

Selena Gomez currently serves as a mentor on The Voice. She recently shared with the media that she suffers from lupus, and that while tabloids reported she was battling drug problems back in 2014, she was undergoing chemotherapy treatments and sick as hell.

Selena Gomez has blossomed into a smart, talented, and yes–very sexy–young woman. She has done so tastefully, unlike at least one of her Disney counterparts. If the need to pose topless for her new album helped Selena emerge as an adult in the music world, so be it. She’s no doubt just starting to show off what she is capable of doing and who she is capable of being.

Justin Bieber is no doubt eating his heart out right now.

Are you finding it a bit hard to swallow seeing Selena Gomez all grown up and oh, so sexy?

Have you checked out her new album, “Revival?”

  • Selena Gomez and Ellen DeGeneres Talk Lupus, Time at Rehab Facility

Selena Gomez talked with Ellen DeGeneres on Friday about her lupus diagnosis and the time she spent in a rehab facility last year.

“I read in Billboard magazine today that you have been struggling with, you were diagnosed with lupus, and that you went through chemo?” Ellen asked the “Good for You” singer.

Gomez explained that she was actually diagnosed with lupus about three years ago, but after hitting a physical and emotional wall in early 2014, she needed a way to recharge her batteries.

The Billboard article to which Ellen DeGeneres refers also details how rumors spread about Selena Gomez when she entered the rehab facility. Rumors said she was battling drugs and all sorts of demons, when in fact she was merely trying to heal her body from the perils of this disease.

The two even discussed why Selena Gomez kept quiet about her diagnosis for so long.

“I think it was just very complicated because I didn’t understand and then that was something that I did want to keep private until my whole life suddenly wasn’t private,” Gomez says. “So, it was my moment. I’m really honestly able to relate to people and I get it.”

Selena Gomez went on to explain exactly what lupus is (an autoimmune disease) and that it will never go away.

“It’s kind of one of those situations. You just have to take care of yourself,” she says.

The Lupus Foundation of America describes lupus as, “a chronic autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body, including skin, joints and organs. With lupus, the body can’t tell the difference between good proteins, called antibodies, that protect the body from foreign invaders, like viruses, bacteria and germs. Autoantibodies end up attacking and destroying healthy tissue, leading to inflammation, pain and damage. More than 90 percent of the 1.5 million Americans living with lupus are women between the ages of 15 and 45, according to the organization Lupus LA.”

Selena Gomez is determined to not allow lupus to get her down. She has become strong in ways she never imagined possible. Her album, “Revival,” was released Friday, and she considers it among her biggest accomplishments.

“The roomie/bae loves me (just for us) ? I’m FREAKING OUT. The album is out!!!! Revival!!!!” she captioned this Instagram shot.

Did you see Ellen DeGeneres’s interview with Selena Gomez? Her audience and viewers were treated to a song from Selena’s new album. The former Disney star performed “Same Old Love.”

It’s likely that Selena Gomez will help raise awareness about lupus, and the struggles those afflicted with the disease experience.

Will you be checking out Selena Gomez’s new album, “Revival?” It’s Selena Gomez like no one ever imagined.

  • Selena Gomez Resents Drug Addiction Rumors, Has Lupus and Underwent Chemo

Selena Gomez is resentful of rumors she was battling a drug addiction a while back when she took a break from the entertainment world. The rumors ran rampant for several weeks.

Instead of an addiction problem, the “Good for You” singer was diagnosed with lupus and was undergoing chemotherapy treatments.

“I was diagnosed with lupus, and I’ve been through chemotherapy. That’s what my break was really about. I could’ve had a stroke,” Selena Gomez told Billboard about her time away from the spotlight. “I wanted so badly to say, ‘You guys have no idea. I’m in chemotherapy. You’re a**holes.’ I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again.”

The rumors upset Selena, but also served as a catalyst that drove her to work even harder on her music.

“The hate motivated me,” she said.

The haters rudely scorned Selena Gomez for her weight gain, too, but she threw that back in their faces by posing nude on the cover of her new album, “Revival.”

“I was in a bikini and got publicly ripped for being overweight,” she says. “That was the first time I’d experienced body shaming like that. I believed some of the words they were saying.”

BFF Taylor Swift played a huge role in helping Selena Gomez regain her confidence following this very trying time.

“Taylor makes me feel empowered, like I can trust new people,” she said. “The way she cares about women is so adamant. It’s pulling me out of my shell.”

So exactly what is the disease Selena Gomez was diagnosed with? Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body). Chronic means that the signs and symptoms tend to last longer than six weeks and often for many years.

Chemotherapy is comprised of some immunosuppressant drugs that are known to help with the symptoms of lupus.

Selena Gomez has really have some rough months in the past year. Kudos to her for speaking up about what she’s been experiencing. Maybe those who spread rumors about her or body shamed her will think twice before doing the same to someone else.

  • Selena Gomez to Release ‘Revival,’ Representative of Rebirth as Adult

Selena Gomez to Release ‘Revival,’ Representative of Rebirth as Adult

Selena Gomez has enjoyed a huge fan base as a child star, a tween idol, and the former beloved of another pop icon, Justin Bieber. With the release of her new album, “Revival,” on October 9th, Gomez hopes it will represent her rebirth as an adult in the music world.

Starring for a few seasons as a small child on Barney, Selena Gomez went on to star for four seasons on the Disney Channel on The Wizards of Waverly Place. She crossed over into the music world shortly before she began dating Justin Bieber.

Long referred to as “Jelena,” Justin and Selena made news no matter what they did or where they went. The cameras loved the adorable couple.

While it’s a bit uncertain as to Selena Gomez’s present relationship with Justin Bieber, her maturity in the music world is a certainty.

A summer release from her upcoming album, “Good for You,” soared almost instantly to the number one spot on the singles chart.

Selena Gomez needs her rebirth as an adult in the music world to remain independent. In addition to her past with Justin Bieber, her friendship with Taylor Swift–or at least one facet of it–puts her believability in peril. Selena wants to excel in her music career without fans thinking she’s there because of her BFF.

If “Revival” is filled with songs like “Good for You,” that clearly show off a grown-up, very sexy Selena Gomez–and also show off a far more mature voice than her earlier music shared–then Selena Gomez will soon enjoy that rebirth she is longing to attain.
