  • Jerry Seinfeld: Twitter Lights Up Over His Strange Way of Clapping at Clubs-Mets Game

Jerry Seinfeld became a hot Twitter topic on Sunday night when people reacted to his strange way of clapping while cheering on his team at the Cubs-Mets game.

One Twitter user even compared Jerry Seinfeld’s clapping to character Elaine Benes (played by actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus) during an episode of Seinfeld.

Another Twitter post compared Jerry Seinfeld’s strange clapping to other odd characters who were the subjects of other Seinfeld episodes.

This next post shared no comparisons to Seinfeld episodes, but simply dissed Jerry Seinfeld in a most blatant way.

And then this guy summed up his feelings about the game while mentioning Jerry Seinfeld’s rather peculiar behavior.

He then decided to go straight to the source of some of the most offensive clapping you might ever experience.

Did you get to witness firsthand what Jerry Seinfeld sadly believes is the act of cheering for his team? Wouldn’t it have made a great Seinfeld episode?

  • Seinfeld Actress Killing Explained

The Seinfeld show made such an impact on our culture that it is still quoted daily. You can hardly have a conversation with someone without hearing phrases like “not that there’s anything wrong with that” or “yada, yada, yada.”

Jerry Seinfeld is seeing success with his Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee series, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a hit with Veep.

While most Seinfeld episodes were standalone shots at certain non-topics, there were occasionally running gags and even ongoing story arcs. One of these involved Jason Alexander’s character George getting engaged and nearly married to Susan. Alas, poor Susan never made it to the altar. She was killed off in the show due to poison glue on her wedding invitation envelopes.

Now Jason Alexander has accidentally let slip to Howard Stern why that character was killed off. He was trying to soften a statement made by another Julia Louis-Dreyfus about actress Heidi Swedberg who played Susan, but he just made it worse.

Howard Stern baited Alexander, saying, “Julia Louis-Dreyfus told me you all wanted to kill [Swedberg’s character Susan].”

“I couldn’t figure out how to play off of her,” Alexander said of Swedberg, “Her instincts for doing a scene, where the comedy was, and mine were always misfiring. And she would do something, and I would go, ‘OK, I see what she’s going to do — I’m going to adjust to her.’ And I’d adjust, and then it would change.”

Alexander was chagrined when show creator told him that the character of Susan would be sticking around on Seinfeld because she and George were getting married. Fans wondered why in the world this would happen. They hated Susan. But that made perfect sense to Larry David’s warped sense of humor.

“What he said was, what Heidi brought to the character is, we could do the most horrible things to her, and the audience was still on my side,” Alexander said.

But the difficulty in working with Swedberg was more than Alexander could take. Once her character was expanded, other actors saw it too.

“They go, ‘You know what? It’s f—ing impossible. It’s impossible,’” said Alexander. “And Julia actually said, ‘Don’t you want to just kill her?’ And Larry went, ‘Ka-bang!’”

The idea of killing Susan on the show took Larry David’s sadistic use of her to new heights. He was in.

But once Alexander’s conversation with Stern made headlines, the actor felt bad. He thought it sounded like he did not like Swedberg and that the whole cast had conspired against her. He took to Twitter to explain himself.

“OK, folks, I feel officially awful,” Alexander wrote. “The impetus for telling this story was that Howard said, ‘Julia Louis-Dreyfus told me you all wanted to kill her.’ So I told the story to try and clarify that no one wanted to kill Heidi.”

“People clearly liked the [George-Susan] interplay, even though I believed I was ‘off.’”

“[Swedberg] was generous and gracious, and I am so mad at myself for retelling this story in any way that would diminish her,” Alexander continued. “If I had had more maturity or more security in my own work, I surely would have taken her query and possibly tried to adjust the scenes with her. She surely offered. But, I didn’t have that maturity or security.”

Alexander hopes people watch the Seinfeld re-runs and now understand what happened.

  • Heidi Swedberg Was ‘F***ing Impossible’ To Work With, Gets Apology From ‘Seinfeld’ Actor Jason Alexander

George Costanza might be known for his stinginess but the actor playing him wasn’t stingy with the apologies and praises he heaped on Heidi Swedberg.

But that’s probably because Jason Alexander was working hard to clarify his statement that his Seinfeld fiancée was “f***ing impossible” to work with.

During Alexander’s recent guest stint on The Howard Stern Show, he said Swedberg’s character Susan was killed off because she lacked chemistry with the show’s stars.

Susan Ross was a recurring character who eventually ended up as George’s fiancée. She died during season 7’s finale when she was poisoned from licking the glue on the cheap envelopes that George bought for their wedding invitations.

The 55-year-old Alexander mentioned to Stern that Swedberg was a terrific girl but he had trouble playing off her during their scenes together.

“Her instincts for doing a scene, where the comedy was, and mine were always misfiring,” he explained.

He said that fellow actors Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Jerry Seinfeld also felt the same thing. And with the writers having problems with the direction the storyline was heading, the series’ co-creator Larry David decided to kill off the character.

The theater actor said David got the idea when Louis-Dreyfus commented “don’t you just want to kill her?”

Of course, she meant the character, not the actress.

But when the interview came out, what was meant as a funny anecdote became a story on how the Seinfeld crew hated Swedberg so she was killed off.

Alexander quickly took to social media to clarify what he said and to defend his co-star, who he described as “a sweetheart.”

“I feel officially awful,” he wrote before insisting that he and the rest of the Seinfeld cast really liked Swedberg.

Alexander further wrote that “she is a kind, lovely person who undoubtedly worked really hard to create Susan” and blamed himself for their lack of chemistry, citing his insecurities and immaturity.

“She was generous and gracious and I am so mad at myself for retelling this story in any way that would diminish her,” he added.

  • Anne Meara: Mom of Ben Stiller, Wife of Jerry Stiller Dies at 85 on Saturday

Anne Meara, the mother of Ben Stiller and wife of Seinfeld and King of Queens star Jerry Stiller, died Saturday at the age of 85.

Along with husband Jerry Stiller, Anne Meara was half of the comedy duo known as Stiller and Meara. They appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show 36 times over the years, and did nightclubs in big cities all over the U.S., including Las Vegas.

Anne Meara appeared in several films, too, including The Out-of-Towners, Fame, Awakenings, and Reality Bites, which was directed by Ben Stiller. She starred alongside her son in Night at the Museum.

Neither Ben nor Jerry Stiller said much about Anne Meara’s death, but issued a statement to the Associated Press on Sunday, saying she had passed away on Saturday.

The statement described Jerry Stiller as Anne Meara’s “husband and partner in life,” and went on to say, “The two were married for 61 years and worked together almost as long.”

“Anne’s memory lives on in the hearts of daughter Amy, son Ben, her grandchildren, her extended family and friends, and the millions she entertained as an actress, writer and comedienne,” the family statement concluded.

Besides her husband and son, Anne Meara is survived by her daughter, Amy, and several grandchildren.

  • Seinfeld Hits Hulu on June 24

Seinfeld Hits Hulu on June 24

Last month, Hulu paid a fortune for the streaming rights to everyone’s favorite show about nothing, Seinfeld.

Now, Hulu has finally given us a premiere date. Every single episode of the classic sitcom will be available on Hulu starting June 24.

If you’ve never seen Seinfeld, here’s the most accurate yet completely misleading summary of all time, provided by Hulu:

Jerry Seinfeld stars as a stand-up comedian whose life in New York City is made even more chaotic by his quirky group of friends who join him in wrestling with life’s most perplexing, yet often trivial questions. Often described as “a show about nothing,” Seinfeld mines the humor in life’s mundane situations like waiting in line, searching for a lost item, or the trials and tribulations of dating. Co-starring are Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Jerry’s ex-girlfriend and current platonic pal, Elaine Benes; Jason Alexander as George Costanza, Jerry’s neurotic hard-luck best friend; and Michael Richards as Jerry’s eccentric neighbor, Kramer.

Nobody is exactly sure what Hulu paid for Seinfeld, but reports estimate between $130 and $180 million. Netflix paid about $120 million for the entirety of Friends.

So, if you’re done with that, Seinfeld is waiting for you on Hulu. All 180 episodes.

  • Seinfeld Is Coming to Hulu, and It’s Not Coming Cheap

Seinfeld Is Coming to Hulu, and It’s Not Coming Cheap

No official announcement from Hulu yet, but multiple outlets are reporting that the third-most-talked-about online streaming platform has possibly made itself more attractive to subscribers – by snagging Seinfeld.

For years, Seinfeld has remained a streaming holdout – never appearing on Netflix, Amazon Prime, or any other major player. Of course, you could always watch Seinfeld on TBS – whenever it aired. Or, you can currently watch Seinfeld (legally) on Crackle. There, you can watch about a dozen or so free episodes at any given time, and they rotate in and out fairly consistently.

But Seinfeld coming to Hulu will mean that the entire series is available to stream for the first time ever.

The Wall Street Journal says that the deal values each episodes at $700,000. Variety puts the total value of the deal at near $180 million. That’s more than $60 million more than Netflix paid for Friends.

Hulu wasn’t the only SVOD company in the running as both Yahoo and Amazon expressed interest. Last summer Jerry Seinfeld said that “conversations” were taking place to bring Seinfeld to Netflix but that never materialized.

Seinfeld is a huge show – one of the most-watched of all time. And grabbing the exclusive streaming rights is a big headline. But is Seinfeld a big enough draw to get people to sign up for Hulu Plus?

  • Jessica Seinfeld: Jerry Seinfeld’s Wife Writing Two New Books

Jessica Seinfeld is writing two new books. The wife of comedian Jerry Seinfeld is the author of three best-selling cookbooks already–one of which catapulted her into a media frenzy amidst accusations she stole another writer’s ideas.

‘Deceptively Delicious’ teaches parents how to trick their kids into eating healthy foods by disguising them in favorite recipes. The book actually triggered a lawsuit that thrust Jessica Seinfeld onto the front of many tabloids. It was later dismissed for lack of evidence.

The new books Seinfeld is writing include yet another cookbook, as well as a collection of ‘humorous essays and observations.’

Page Six reports that cookbook will hit bookstores in the fall of 2016. No release date has yet been announced for the collection.

The second book underway by Jessica Seinfeld will no doubt have people wondering if she has a sense of humor similar to that of Jerry Seinfeld. After 16 years of marriage, one would expect his dry, joking nature would definitely rub off on his wife.

Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld are the parents of three children–Sascha, Julian, and Shepherd. Aside from being ‘deceptively’ well-fed, do you expect their kids are funny, too?

Have you read Jessica Seinfeld’s previous two cookbooks? Will you be checking out her new books once they are released?

  • ‘Big Bang Theory’ Actress Succumbs to Cancer

The Big Bang Theory has lost one of its own. Actress Carol Ann Susi, known as the voice of Mrs. Wolowitz–Howard’s (played by Simon Helberg) mother on the CBS show, lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday. Although her voice was always heard and frequently imitated, Carol Ann Susi’s face was never seen on the show. She was a regular Big Bang Theory cast member since 2007.

According to a report from the Hollywood Reporter, Susi grew up in Brooklyn and moved to Los Angeles in the 1970s. She played the role of Kolchak’s secretary, Monique Marmelstein, on ABC’s The Night Stalker. She made guest appearances on shows including Cheers, Doogie Howser, M.D., Mad About You, Just Shoot Me, Seinfeld, and Six Feet Under.

Warner Bros. Television and Big Bang Theory producers Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro, and Bill Prady issued a written statement about the Big Bang Theory star’s passing.

The Big Bang Theory family has lost a beloved member today with the passing of Carol Ann Susi, who hilariously and memorably voiced the role of Mrs. Wolowitz,” the statement reads. “Unseen by viewers, the Mrs. Wolowitz character became a bit of a mystery throughout the show’s eight seasons. What was not a mystery, however, was Carol Ann’s immense talent and comedic timing, which were on display during each unforgettable appearance. In addition to her talent, Carol Ann was a constant source of joy and kindness to all. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with her family during this time, and we will miss her greatly.”

Cast members mourned her passing via social media.

The remainder of the cast and crew of The Big Bang Theory–as well as the show’s fans–are no doubt mourning the passing of Carol Ann Susi. She was just 62 years old.

  • Bryan Cranston And Aaron Paul Star In An Emmy Video

    Scroll down for the video.

Welp, here it is, our two favorite television actors in the last seven years making a little tongue-in-cheek joke about History Channel’s reality TV-show Pawn Stars.

Though they don’t return as their iconic characters – Jesse Pinkman and Walter White – both Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul reunite with their dynamic acting chemistry, and it’s just as good as you’d imagine. Julia Louis-Dreyfus (the third Emmy winner in this little clip) also stars in the skit.

Cranston plays a decked out Elvis-glasses-wearing stereotypical southern business man named Buzz Jackson while Paul works as his saggy overall-wearing trucker hat partner (or son?) Randy Jackson. They both run a business that isn’t so much an illegal empire of manufacturing and distributing blue crystal meth, but instead, a little pawnshop called Barely Legal. Louis-Dreyfus (playing herself), recently made a drunken impulse buy for a private island triggered by Celine Dion envy and needs to drum up some dough by trying to sell her 1996 Emmy (for playing Elaine on Seinfeld) for Best Supporting Actor. Both goofballs, Cranston and Paul, make nods to both the Emmys and Breaking Bad, but we won’t spoil that for you, just watch the damn thing.

The comedic short from Audi sets up for next Monday’s Emmy Awards – it was produced by PMK-BNC and written and directed by Paulilu, the same guys who made the Dollar Shave Club’s viral launch video and last year’s Spock vs. Spock Audi ad starring Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy.

“We knew we had a great concept, a winning team and a client, Audi, who understood the value of this type of content,” says Joseph Assad, executive producer at PMK-BNC. “We flew in face of convention by putting out a video at six minutes, but with the high-caliber acting and the quality of the idea, we knew we could push some boundaries.”

There’s an episode of Pawn Stars where a man named David actually tried selling Ronald Dunbar & General Johnson’s Best Rhythm & Blues Song – 1970 “Patches Grammy Award. David ended up selling the thing for $2,350.

    “Well hello there mamasita.”

  • Seinfeld on Netflix? Jerry Seinfeld Says ‘Conversations Are Presently Taking Place’

Seinfeld on Netflix? Jerry Seinfeld Says ‘Conversations Are Presently Taking Place’

Could you one day be able to stream every episode of the ‘show about nothing’ on Netflix?

Probably not. Well, who knows? Maybe? Jerry Seinfeld says it’s at least a remote possibility.

“Jerry, any word on Seinfeld coming to Netflix?” asked a redditor during a Thursday AMA session with Seinfeld.

“You are a very smart and progressive person. These conversations are presently taking place,” he said.

Of course, conversations are simply conversations. I had a conversation about running a couple miles yesterday. Let’s just say conversations have a mixed track record when it comes to turning into actions.

Here’s what’s standing in the way of your Saturday Seinfeld binge session – syndication success. Not just regular old syndication success, but the more than $3 billion type. Reports indicate that both Seinfeld and Larry David have scooped up at least $400 million thanks to repeat fees since the show ended in 1998. You know how there’s always an episode of Seinfeld on – somewhere, somehow? That’s because there is, and people eat it up.

It’s this syndication popularity (along with impressive DVD sales) that makes the parties involved reluctant to make deals with a streaming company like Netflix – or even sell episodes direct to viewers on iTunes.

Other than network and cable TV, you can currently watch Seinfeld (legally) on Crackle. There, you can watch about a dozen or so free episodes at any given time, and they rotate in and out fairly consistently.

Clearly not the best streaming setup.

A Netflix deal would be the Seinfeld and future Seinfeld fan’s dream come true. For now, you’ll just have to settle for watching reruns on cable, buying the DVDs, or finding uh, less wallet-bashing means to get your Seinfeld fix – not that there’s anything wrong with that.

  • Kelly Ripa Goes On Vacation To Greece With The Seinfelds

Kelly Ripa is fresh from her European vacation with the Seinfelds. Ripa will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she celebrated by going on a family vacation with husband Mark Consuelos and their kids Michael, Lola, and Joaquin. Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld brought their children Sascha, Julian, and Shepherd along with them.

“I gotta tell you, it was magical. It was one of those trips where it all came together so beautifully. We started out in Paris for a couple of days – just a quick, quick trip to Paris – and then we spent the bulk of our trip, 10 days, in Greece, going from island to island,” Ripa said.

Jessica Seinfeld, who is Ripa’s close friend, congratulated her on Instagram by saying that she is the greatest friend in the world and she does a fantastic job on her morning show Live with Kelly and Michael. “Congratulations my love,” she said.

Ripa shared her pictures from her European trip including pictures on the Eiffel Tower, Poseidon’s Temple, Santorini, and Athens.

“It was like having no kids because they all amused each other and nobody drove us insane, so it was like a vacation.”

The trip was also a milestone for Jerry Seinfeld, as he took his first ever selfie. His wife shared the picture on Instagram with the caption, “Jerry’s First Selfie. Ugh. Stop. #greeceistheword.”

    Jerry Seinfeld, Jessica Seinfeld, Instagram

Ripa enjoyed the trip so much that she encouraged viewers to take a Grecian vacation there as well. “If you’re taking a trip someplace overseas and you’re thinking, ‘Where should we go? What should we do?’ I highly encourage you to visit Greece because the people are the kindest and the loveliest, and it’s so beautiful,” she said.

Ripa will be receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015.

  • Julia Louis-Dreyfus Nude on ‘Rolling Stone’ Cover

Julia Louis-Dreyfus graces the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Stone–in the nude. The Veep star’s cover shot and the third season of the show make headlines at about the same time–the new season aired Sunday and the magazine hits news stands Friday.

Inside the pages of Rolling Stone, Louis-Dreyfus dishes on Seinfeld as well as the upcoming season of Veep. She says she gets to curse a lot in season three, and that seems to please the actress to no end.

“Once, when we were trying to come up with the particular perfect, horrible, swear-y thing to say in Veep, I said, ‘You do realize that if we were 12, we would get in big trouble for this conversation,’” Louis-Drefus told the magazine. “That was not part of the curriculum in high school, and the fact that it is now a part of the curriculum of my life is a pleasure, which is the understatement of the universe.”

Julia also mentions that she landed the role on Seinfeld as Elaine Benes partly due to her ‘disposition.’ And she talked about sexism in Hollywood.

“There is sexism — I’m not denying its existence,” she says. “But I’m saying that I will deny its effort against me. I just pay it no nevermind and say, ‘Get out of my way.’”

On the magazine cover, Julia Louis-Dreyfus sports nothing but a copy of the U.S. Constitution on her bare back.

Prior to this post she shared one indicating her expectation of landing some new Twitter followers.

Do note the reference to Toronto Mayor Rob Ford in her tweet with her use of the ‘drunken stupor’ excuse.

Will you be picking up a copy of Rolling Stone this Friday with Julia Louis-Dreyfus–nude–on the cover? Given the number of Seinfeld and Veep fans she has–the news stands could sell out quickly.

  • Constitution Tattoo Flub Gets Response From Julia Louis-Dreyfus

The new Rolling Stone issue featuring a naked Julia Louis-Dreyfus has people buzzing – for the wrong reasons. While Louis-Dreyfus looks stunning on the cover, but people are paying more attention to the US constitution tattooed on her back. Below the constitution is the signature of Founding Father John Hancock – who never signed the constitution.

In fact, it was the Declaration of Independence that the Second Continental Congress president signed.

The misplaced attribution was noticed right away. John Hancock’s autograph is so famous that his name has become synonymous with the term ‘signature.’ Netizens turned to social media to question the obvious blunder.

One user commented that John Hancock did not sign the constitution. Another asked how Rolling Stone could miss something this important.

The National Constitution Center, located in Philadelphia, also commented on the cover flub, by tweeting a picture of the cover next to other Founding Fathers Benjamin Franklin and George Washington. A text said “Thanks for the shoutout,” before noting that Hancock is not included.

According to a representative of the magazine, it was not a mistake, but was done only because the Declaration of Independence couldn’t fit in the image. Publicity director of Wenner Media, Melissa Bruno, said that the Declaration of Independence is on the other side, but the signatures couldn’t all fit. Louis-Dreyfus also responded on Twitter to criticism, saying it was another Mike f***-up, referring to the character Mike McLintock, the director of communications for the HBO comedy series Veep. She also called him a “dummy,” with the hashtag Veep and crackexcuse.

The TV star’s cover focuses on her career as “The First Lady of Comedy.” After her successful role as Elaine Benes in Seinfeld, she is back as Selina Meyer, vice president of the United States in Veep. The series has been met with critical acclaim and won a number of awards.

The Rolling Stone issue will hit newsstands on April 11.

  • John Pinette: ‘Seinfeld’ Actor Found Dead in Hotel

Comedian John Pinette died Saturday afternoon at the Sheraton Hotel in Pittsburgh, Penn.

According to a supervisor from the Allegheny County medical examiner’s office, Pinette suffered from liver and heart disease.

Pinette’s personal doctor signed off on the cause of death so no autopsy was performed. Authorities do not suspect foul play.

However, in August he delayed performances to seek treatment in a rehabilitation facility for a prescription drug addiction.

“Thanks to everyone for your concern and well wishes,” he tweeted following treatment. “Want to apologize for having missed shows last weekend, but I hope you understand!”

The 50-year-old comedian was a native of Boston and a noted impressionist. He was also known for his self-deprecating humor about this weight.

One of his most famous bits is the one about a Chinese Buffet:

The comedian appeared in films like Duets, Dear God, The Punisher and Junior.

He was also a guest-star on the series finale of Seinfeld, playing the victim of a carjacking.

According to his Facebook page, he was scheduled to perform at Ontario Improv this Thursday.

His final post on Facebook read, “Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all have a GREAT weekend! Don’t forget to catch me at the Ontario Improv Comedy Club next week, April 10-13!”

Condolences have started to pour in on Twitter:

  • Wayne Knight Confirms That He Is Not Dead

Wayne Knight, probably best known for his character ‘Newman’ on the television comedy series Seinfeld, is not dead!

Rumors started circulating early Sunday morning that the actor had passed away in an accident near the New York-Pennsylvania border. When the news started to spread, Knight became the number one trending topic on Google. Thankfully, the rumors were NOT true, and Knight took to Twitter to confirm that he was alive and well with a series of tweets.

“Some of you will be glad to hear this, others strangely disappointed, but….I am alive and well!” he wrote. “Does someone have to DIE to trend? Geez! Thanks for all the love everybody. I didn’t know you cared. Glad to be breathing!” Knight later added.

Knight then took a moment to acknowledge the woman who actually died in the accident that spurred the rumors. “Regrets to my friends and family who were shocked this morning and the family of the woman who actually died in my “supposed” accident,” the tweet read. “Thanks to the small town of new followers who came onboard just to tell me they’re glad I didn’t kick! I feel good about the result as well.”

  • ‘Seinfeld’ Reunion Feels Like The Show Never Ended

Ok, so it wasn’t exactly a Super Bowl ad — at least not in the typical sense. What was declared by comedian Jerry Seinfeld as a “big, huge, gigantic project” that he and co-writer Larry David put together, was in fact, a promo for his Crackle.com web series  “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.”

The 2-minute promo that aired during the Super Bowl was a snippet of a ‘Seinfeld’ webisode featuring  Seinfeld playing the TV version of himself, Jason Alexander as the neurotic George Costanza and Wayne Knight as Newman the postal worker. Though the show has been off the air for 16 years, the guys seamlessly stepped back into their much loved characters.

The promo features Jerry and George taking a short car ride over to their favorite New York meeting place, Tom’s restaurant. As usual, it’s not long before the two end up having a heated conversation. Jerry admits to George that he was disappointed about not being at the Wasserstein’s Super Bowl party. Apparently, the previous year George “over-cheered” at the party and also failed to use good bathroom etiquette after relieving himself in the Wasserstein’s master bathroom. Toward the end of the clip, George gives Jerry his blessing and tells him to go watch the second half of the Super Bowl without him. Just before Jerry could even get out of his seat, Newman (Jerry’s archrival) enters the scene. Ahh…feels like the show never ended.

In the days leading up to the Super Bowl, Seinfeld was asked in a radio interview whether or not his Super Bowl short film was ‘Seinfeld’ reunion or a promo for his web series. Seinfeld said,  “It’s not. But “It’s not-not” either of those things.  In retrospect, that now seems like a reasonable answer from a comedian trying to be evasive.

Seinfeld said in a statement, “Fox approached Larry and me about doing some kind of ‘Seinfeld’ reunion for the halftime broadcast because of the New York connection. So we thought throwing Jerry, George and Newman into a Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee was a fun way to do it.”

So far the mini reunion is a hit — the fans love it.  See the full 6-minute webisode on Crackle.com.

  • ‘Seinfeld’ Reunion: Will They Do A Super Bowl Commercial?

Fans of the TV show ‘Seinfeld’ could be in for a treat. On Jan. 6, comedian Jerry Seinfeld revealed that he was doing a “big, huge, gigantic” project that he co-wrote with Larry David. About a week later he was spotted at Tom’s Diner in Manhattan with former cast member Jason Alexander. Tom’s Diner was the Seinfeld crew’s meeting place on the show.  So, is this a sign of a reunion?

    (image)

In a Thursday interview with Boomer & Carton on WFAN radio, Jerry Seinfeld hinted at a reunion of the cast of  ‘Seinfeld’. He said that he and his old crew had gotten together to film a one-off scene of some kind, a short film a bit longer than 60 seconds in duration. Seinfeld also said that the mystery project was scheduled to air “very soon”. In the interview, Seinfeld was asked if the film was a  promotion for Sunday’s game or for his popular web series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.” The comedian gave a typical “Seinfeld answer” — “It’s not. But “It’s not-not” either of those things, he responded.

“I gave you more now than I’ve given anyone,” said Seinfeld. “I told you what it isn’t. And then I also told you that it isn’t not that, either.”

Sounds like a Super Bowl commercial. Could it be?

On Friday, Seinfeld’s publicist Tom Kearney was also being mysterious about the project. Kearney quickly dismissed the idea that the short film was a commercial but did confirm that the public would know soon.

This reunion is not the first for the cast since the show ended its run in 1998. Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Michael Richards last appeared together in one episode of Larry David’s ‘Curb your Enthusiasm’ in 2009.

    (image)

Ok, so we don’t really know what they’re up to but whatever it is will likely be entertaining and funny.

Yada yada yada, still sounds like a Super Bowl commercial.

  • Seinfeld Reunion Will Happen Soon, Very Soon

Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander and Larry David walk into a diner, not just any diner, but the now landmark NYC Tom’s Diner which served as the framework for Monk’s on the Seinfeld show. A picture is taken of Seinfeld and Alexander walking towards Tom’s and is tweeted for the whole world to see. That, along with Seinfeld discussing a “secret project” during a Reddit AMA and an interview on the WFAN sports radio show Boomer & Carton are steering hopeful fans in the direction that they will get to see George, Jerry, Elaine and Kramer back in action.

Boomer and Carton pressed the comedian on what he was doing with Alexander and David. Were the old friends simply getting coffee like Jerry and George did on the show every week? Was it part of Seinfeld’s web show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee? Were they planning some other future project? Although the radio hosts did not get all the juicy details, Seinfeld coyly confirmed that there was some sort of Seinfeld reunion in the works.

Seinfeld told Boomer and Carton, “It’s a secret project. I gave you more now than I’ve given anyone. I told you what it isn’t, and then I also told you that it isn’t not that either.” What? Okay, here’s what we do know. Seinfeld described the secret project as a “one and done” experience, that we will get to see it very soon, it’s not a commercial for the Super Bowl and it may even have already been filmed. So fans everywhere can certainly get excited but expectations should be kept in check as the project could be any number of things.

#seinfeldreunion quickly became a popular trend on Twitter:

  • “Seinfeld” Reunion: The Cast Is Back Together For A New Project

After having a popular sitcom for many years that is still a beloved treasure to many people, the cast will be getting back together and having a Seinfeld reunion.

The cast members of Seinfeld have all gone their separate ways since the end of the show in 1998, but as a group of people that worked together for nine seasons, they have continued to remain close friends.

It still has not been revealed what the new project will be about, but rumors started swirling around after Jerry Seinfeld and Jason Alexander were seen outside of Tom’s Restaurant, along with Larry David.

The restaurant was used on the the Seinfeld set for Monk’s Cafe, which was a frequented location for Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer.

People started talking about a possible Seinfeld reunion immediately, and now the news has been officially confirmed, although a small amount of details about the project have been released. Some people thought that it could be for a Super Bowl commercial or for Seinfeld’s web series.

Both of those rumors have been shut down, although fans have not learned much else yet. In a recent interview where he denied that the Seinfeld reunion would be either of those things, Jerry Seinfeld said “But, it is not not those things, either. It’s a secret project. I gave you more now than I’ve given anyone. I told you what it isn’t, and then I also told you that it isn’t not that either.”

He said that it was a film project, and that other Seinfeld cast members were involved, adding that Jason Alexander will be playing George. The project has been described as “one-and-done,” and Jerry promises that fans will be able to see it “very, very soon.”

Larry David, who was the creator and executive producer of Seinfeld, is also set to have a part in the upcoming Seinfeld reunion, although he will not be seen on camera. Since leaving Seinfeld, David has enjoyed great success with his HBO show Curb Your Enthusiasm.

As fans wait in anticipation, the Seinfeld reunion is getting closer, and the big fans are likely to be creating a ton of buzz with this news. What does everyone think the reunion will consist of?
