  • Nastia Liukin, Sasha Farber Quickstep Their Way to A Perfect ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Score

Nastia Liukin and her temporary pro dance partner Sasha Farber danced the quickstep Monday night on Dancing With the Stars–all the way to a perfect score. The pair earned 40 out of a possible 40 points from the judges.

Four couples remain in season 20’s competition. In addition to Nastia Liukin and Sasha Farber (Do you think Derek Hough will be back?) are Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy, Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess, and Riker Lynch and Allison Holker.

Carrie Ann Inaba called Nastia Liukin’s quickstep a ‘showstopper.’

“I feel like you are now a dancer, you are not just a gymnast…that was amazing,” Julianne Hough told her.

Bruno Tonioli said he saw in Nastia Liukin “a glowing, glamourous blond bombshell…I’m telling you, it was a technical tour de force and you were really a star out there.”

And Len Goodman said the secret to a quickstep is to move fast but not to hurry. He then added, “That’s what you did…it had speed but it had control.”

It was definitely an exciting night for Nastia Liukin, but she wasn’t the only dancer with a perfect score. Riker Lynch now has that claim to fame as well.

Which of these four Dancing With the Stars couples do you think will walk away with that coveted mirror ball trophy?

One couple will be eliminated Tuesday night, with the remaining three going on to the Dancing With the Stars finals on May 18th.

Will Nastia Liukin escape elimination and make it one step closer to the win?

  • Nastia Liukin, Sasha Farber High ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Scorers in Derek Hough’s Absence

Nastia Liukin and Sasha Farber were the high scorers on Dancing With the Stars this week–even in light of Derek Hough’s absence on the dance floor. Hough is nursing a couple of injuries, so Farber filled in for the pro dancer.

“Derek’s definitely got some big shoes to fill…It’s not the best circumstance for me to step in,” Sasha said during an interview with E!.

Derek hasn’t taken complete leave of his Dancing With the Stars duties, however. He’s been choreographing their routines and was involved in the performance.

“It’s literally a team effort,” Sasha said. “I’ve been having so much fun, but I just hope he heals really quickly and gets back in the competition.”

Nastia Liukin and Sasha Farber received two tens and two nines for their routine, which was indeed the highest score of the week. Even though fans may want Derek Hough to hurry up and get back on the dance floor, Nastia Liukin told her pro partner to take it slow.

“We’re taking it day by day, and I think that’s really the only way you can really do it,” she said. “But he does have a busy summer, a busy year ahead of him, so I kind of told him, ‘Please don’t rush it. You have so much ahead of you.’ Obviously I would love to dance with him next week, but if he’s not ready enough to do that then we have Sasha, who has been absolutely amazing.”

Derek Hough is a lucky man. To have the full cooperation and support of Nastia Liukin must mean a lot to him. While some contestants would want their pro partner back at any cost, clearly Nastia has his future in mind as well.

As anyone who dances knows, an injury to a foot or ankle can be career-ending. Clearly Nastia Liukin doesn’t want this to happen to Derek Hough.

Do you think Nastia Liukin will win this season of DWTS? Can she score that mirror ball trophy without Derek Hough by her side on the dance floor?

  • Sasha Farber to Replace Derek Hough on Dancing With the Stars?

Sasha Farber will be training with Dancing With the Stars contestant Nastia Liukin during Derek Hough’s absence. Hough injured his foot and ankle recently and needs some time for healing.

This is leaving some to wonder if Sasha Farber will be replacing Derek Hough for the remainder of this season.

People magazine reported recently on the immediate plan for Team Houghkin.

“Derek Hough suffered injuries to his right foot and left ankle,” a rep told the publication. “He has been diagnosed with a broken toe on his right foot and sprains to his left ankle on both the inside and outside aspects and a bone bruise on the same ankle. Derek will remain in Los Angeles this week to rehab his injuries.”

“While it remains unclear at this time if Derek will be able to perform on April 27th episode, his partner Nastia Liukin will train in Los Angeles this week with pro-dancer Sasha Farber to prepare for the live show,” the rep added.

Fans of Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough are likely saying prayers and sending well wishes his way, in hopes that he will be able to once again perform in the competition.

Hopefully–in the meantime–Nastia Liukin will get her rehearsal time in with Sasha Farber, and be ready to roll if Derek Hough is given the green light by his doctors to perform.

Do you think Nastia Liukin stands a chance at winning Dancing With the Stars if Sasha Farber winds up replacing Derek Hough for the remainder of the season?
