  • Bristol Palin Slammed After Calling President ‘Childish’ Over Ahmed Mohamed

Bristol Palin may be a bit confused. Maybe she is getting her political news from the same source her mother is: her imagination.

The daughter of political firebrand and half-term governor of Sarah Palin took issue with President Obama inviting clockmaker Ahmed Mohamed to the White House. Ahmed Mohamed is the high school student from Texas who made his own digital clock and took it to school in a pencil case to show his Engineering teacher. Another teacher reported Ahmed, police were called, and Ahmed was arrested on suspicion of making a bomb.

As has been pointed out many times in social media and news programs, it seems unlikely that anyone actually thought that Ahmed Mohamed had actually made a bomb. If they had, they would have followed protocols such as evacuating the school, calling the bomb squad, and so on. Instead, Ahmed is likely believed to have been perpetrating a bomb hoax.

But that is not how the whole issue has been spread about in social media. Instead, people are laughing at the school administration and police in Texas for believing that a clock was a bomb. If it turns out that Ahmed Mohamed even joked that he had a bomb in his locker, the school administration and police will look much better in hindsight. But so far such revelations have not emerged.

What irked Bristol Palin was that President Obama invited Ahmed Mohamed to the white House via Twitter, saying:

“Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It’s what makes America great.”

Bristol Palin saw this as driving a further wedge in America. She laid out her argument this way:

“This is the kind of stuff Obama needs to STAY out of. This encourages more racial strife that is already going on with the “Black Lives Matter” crowd and encourages victimhood.

“The police made a mistake, clearly.

“But why put more people against them? Why egg it on? Childish games like this from our president have divided our country… even more today than when he was elected.”

Now social media users are piling on to Bristol Palin, en masse.

Perhaps what Bristol Palin is forgetting is that it was her own mother who raised the notion of some people in America being “the real America,” so long as they were supporting her in politics.

Sarah Palin said these areas were “pro-America,” implying that other areas were “anti-America.”

Where Bristol Palin gets the idea that Barack Obama, simply by virtue of his being elected, divided America, is curious. Did he do this on purpose? Or was there some sort of sentiment against him that caused this rift simply because a majority of what must be “un-real, anti-America” voted him into office twice?

  • Bristol Palin Says President Obama Dividing the Country by Inviting Ahmed Mohamed to White House

Bristol Palin is speaking out about Ahmed Mohamed, the former MacArthur High School student from Irving, Texas, who has become famous after being arrested on suspicion of bringing a bomb to school. Of course, the rest of the world now knows that Ahmed Mohamed did not bring a bomb, but rather a clock he had built to show an engineering teacher. Bristol Palin knows this, too. She doesn’t have a problem with Ahmed Mohamed. She has a problem with Barack Obama.

Try to follow along. Bristol Palin heard the news that President Barack Obama had tweeted out to Ahmed Mohamed. It is this tweet that Bristol Palin takes issue with.

    President Obama’s tweet read:

“Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It’s what makes America great.”

In response to President Obama’s tweet, Bristol Palin wrote on her own blog:

“This is the kind of stuff Obama needs to STAY out of. This encourages more racial strife that is already going on with the “Black Lives Matter” crowd and encourages victimhood.

“The police made a mistake, clearly.

“But why put more people against them? Why egg it on? Childish games like this from our president have divided our country… even more today than when he was elected.”

Bristol Palin does not here elaborate on how President Obama managed to divide the country when he was elected. She does not say that his presidency divides the country. Rather, she marks a specific point in time, comparing “today” with “when he was elected.”

Is Bristol Palin saying that the very act of being Barack Obama being elected divided the country? Is she aware that he did not elect himself, but a majority of voting Americans did? Twice?

Is Britstol Palin aware that it was her own mother, in the Presidential race of 2008 against Barack Obama, who raised the topic of “the real America,” dividing people into groups?

Yet somehow, Bristol Palin thinks that the President speaking out in a small way to combat Islamaphobia and show unity with all races is divisive.

  • Sarah Palin Mourns Chik-fil-A Matriarch, Readies New Book

Sarah Palin popped up again, but there is no word as to whether she saw her shadow or how long Winter will be. This time, the perennial Facebook-posting non-candidate issued condolences to the family of Chik-fil-A founder Truett Cathy. While Truett Cathy himself died last year, his widow Jeannette Cathy passed just this week.

    Palin’s Facebook post read:

“Prayers for the Cathy family following the passing of Jeannette Cathy, the beautiful, strong matriarch behind Chick-fil-a. What a role model – espousing the values of faith, family and food! Love this family and what they do for America.”

Truett Cathy and his family were long at the center of a controversy about whether their businesses donated to anti-LGBT causes. The restaurant chain and the family behind it were celebrities of a sort among Christian conservatives when they were boycotted by people who believed LGBT folks deserved the same rights as everyone else.

“Our mother has always been the spiritual nucleus and encourager of our family,” said eldest son Dan T. Cathy, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Chick-fil-A, Inc. “I can’t remember a day when she was not in full support of Dad in his work and vision for the Chick-fil-A business.”

Sarah Palin’s Christian conservative bona fides will be out on display again in November when she releases her book Sweet Freedom: A Devotional.

Palin’s publisher, Regnery Publishing, announced her book as aiming to apply “biblical principles” to contemporary issues, including those facing our country.

“In Sweet Freedom, Sarah Palin invites you to draw strength and inspiration from 260 meditations based on guiding Biblical verses. You are not alone in your doubts and anxieties—we all bear the burdens of everyday stresses, and for most of us, our concerns spread beyond our selves to our families, communities, and country. But Palin shows that with abiding faith, and by opening ourselves to the truths that have saved mankind for generations, we can thrive—and experience true freedom.”

  • Nikki Haley VP Chances Weighed by Man Who Launched Sarah Palin

Nikki Haley is the name on the lips of possibly every Republican primary entrant right now, and that’s a lot of men.

When South Carolina governor Nikki Haley shifted her position from not being interested in the Confederate flag issue to advocating fiercely for its removal, she caught the public eye.

“This flag, while an integral part of our past, does not represent the future of our great state,” Haley said.

Americans found Nikki Haley’s honesty in the wake of the Charleston church shootings refreshing. It did not take long for her name to be floated as a possible running mate for whoever wins the GOP primary.

“She’d be on anybody’s list,” Mike Huckabee said. “She’s done a terrific job in South Carolina.”

Now the man who brought Sarah Palin into the 2008 race alongside John McCain is weighing in. Steve Schmidt is a GOP strategist who has also made a name for himself as supporting equal rights for gays.

“Nikki showed leadership in this instance,” Schmidt says, “and she represents a new Republican face in the South. She speaks to the growing diversity of Republican elected officials in executive office, and she’s been a very effective governor in the state of South Carolina, and certainly, she’s going to be a person given serious consideration.”

But Schmidt acknowledges that Nikki Haley has chinks in her political armor.

“Her knowledge of world affairs and national security remains untested and unknown at this point,” Schmidt admits.

One might look back at how the Sarah Palin experiment fared for John McCain in 2008. Palin’s “knowledge of world affairs and national security” were also “untested and unknown,” but Schmidt brought her into the Big Game anyway.

How does Schmidt feel about that decision today?

“My judgment was influenced by an ambition for victory, trying to figure out a way to win the race,” Schmidt has said. “There is no question she helped to energize the campaign and to catapult John McCain into the lead. But the result was the nomination of someone who was fundamentally not qualified to be in the national command authority. That supersedes any short-term or long-term political advantage. Obviously, I have great regret over that.”

There may be a place for Nikki Haley in the GOP primary, but maybe not as a running mate. South Carolina has proven to be a pivotal state in GOP primaries of the past. For a GOP candidate, having Nikki Haley in your corner may be very handy. Whether she should be on your ticket is another matter.

  • Sarah Palin Shuts Down Online Channel, Another Sign Of Her Fading Popularity

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin recently announced that she’s closing down her subscriber-based online channel.

The Sarah Palin Channel, which started last July, allowed Palin to reach viewers without “a media filter” at membership charges of $9.95 every month or $99.95 for the whole year.

Now, the former Fox News contributor has decided to provide her content for free on her Facebook page and website, SarahPac.com, starting on August 1.

Palin stated that she’s shutting down the online channel because she preferred to connect to more people so her voice can be heard especially since the 2016 presidential election is approaching fast.

The former vice-presidential runner further said that she felt privileged to have people subscribed to her channel and that she found it informative to see and reply to comments about current happenings.

However, the channel shutdown may simply be due to low member subscriptions, says Jason Easley of Politicususa.

But a spokesperson for TAPP, which Palin’s channel is a part of, has declined to reveal the membership figures of the online channel.

Nevertheless, the public relations company will issue refunds to those who subscribed for the whole year and wishes Palin well in her endeavours.

Indeed, Palin’s sparkle as a former conservative superstar is fading fast.

Her every word made the headlines back in 2010 upon joining Fox News and she became the face of the Tea Party. Her popularity is now in decline and over the years the former Governor’s appearances on the Fox News network has dwindled.

Last month, Fox News refused to renew Palin’s contract as a contributor, and analysts have concluded that the network has realized that the Republican isn’t worth her huge paycheck (reportedly about $1 million per year), now that she isn’t what she used to be.

  • Bristol Palin Strikes Back at Those Who Suggest She Abort Baby

Bristol Palin has become a punching bag in her short life. Sure, she has put her own opinion out there, choosing the spotlight on occasion. Doing that, especially in the United States, brings all the comments and responses that any public statement is heir to.

But Bristol Palin’s daily lot is much more a by-product of her mother’s misaimed ambitions than her own actions. Many people have babies, cancel weddings, fight with neighbors, and fend off unwanted admirers. But when these things happen to Bristol Palin, is gets trumpeted around the nation as if she were her own attention-hungry mom.

Right now, all Bristol Palin wants is to be left alone. She may not get that, since she has put herself out there in the past. For whatever reason, she felt obliged to tell readers of her blog that she was pregnant with a second child out of wedlock. Maybe she was looking for support and a friendly ear.

“Honestly, I’ve been trying my hardest to keep my chin up on this one,” Bristol admitted when announcing her pregnancy. “I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you.”

Bristol is determined to bear up and handle her actions like a grown woman.

“Life moves on no matter what. So no matter how you feel, you get up, get dressed, show up, and never give up.
When life gets tough, there is no other option but to get tougher.”

At this point, she wants to be left alone to do that without being in the spotlight.

“But please respect Tripp’s and my privacy during this time. I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy.”

Alas, that was not to be. Bristol Palin has the misfortune of being affiliated with, and has occasionally reveled in the spotlight of, her mother. The glee of Palin opponents at hearing she was pregnant was swift.

In response to these and many other statements like them, Bristol took to her blog again to set the record straight.

“I made a mistake,” she wrote, “but it’s not the mistake all these giddy a$$holes have loved to assume. This pregnancy was actually planned.”

Bristol only recently called off a wedding to Dakota Meyer. She says that she and Dakota started a family a little too soon.

“Everyone knows I wanted more kids, to have a bigger family. Believing I was heading that way, I got ahead of myself. Things didn’t go as planned, but life keeps going. Life moves on. But I do not regret this baby. This baby is not a disappointment, and I cannot wait to be a mom times two. Tripp is going to make the best big brother!!”

As for the claims that she is getting her comeuppance for lecturing others about abstinence, she counters, “Let’s get another thing straight, because I can’t tolerate all the talk on this subject. I have never been paid as an ‘abstinence spokesperson. I was employed by the great people at The Candies Foundation.”

The website for The Candies Foundation does highlight that their mission is “to shape the way the youth in America think about the devastating consequences of teen pregnancy and parenthood.”

Both The Candies Foundation and their partner organization The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy mention that, while they highlight abstinence as the most “effective” way to prevent teen pregnancy, they support a two-pronged approach that includes abstinence for those who will stick with this approach and birth control methods for those who do choose to be sexually active.

More than anything, Bristol Palin is offended by those who use her yet-unborn child for headlines like: “Bristol Palin Makes Great Argument for Abortion in Baby Announcement.”

“I am pregnant. This is not the ideal situation, but life is important even if it’s not in the most absolute ideal circumstance. This is more confirmation on what I’ve always stood for. I’ve always been pro-life and I am standing for life now.”

    “Deal with it.”

  • Bristol Palin, Daughter of Sarah Palin and Advocate For Abstinence, Is Pregnant and Doesn’t ‘Want a Lecture’

Bristol Palin, the daughter of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and an advocate for abstinence before marriage, has announced that she is pregnant with her second child.

In a blog post, Briston Palin, who canceled a planned May 23 wedding to Medal of Honor winner Dakota Meyer, announced her pregnancy.

“I wanted you guys to be the first to know that I am pregnant,” Palin, 24, said on Thursday via her blog. “Honestly, I’ve been trying my hardest to keep my chin up on this one.”

An outspoken Christian, Bristol wrote that she does not want “any lectures” or sympathy about her latest pregnancy.

“I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends and to many of you,” Bristol Palin wrote.

Bristol gained attention in 2008 when it was announced during her mother’s campaign as the Republican vice presidential nominee that she was pregnant for the first time with son Tripp. She was scheduled to marry the baby’s father, Levi Johnston, but the engagement was called off.

An outspoken advocate for abstinence before marriage, this comes as a shock to some of Bristol Palin’s fans and followers on social media. She even promotes herself as a speaker on the topic.

in 2009, Bristol appeared on Good Morning America to talk about abstinence.

“Regardless of what I did personally, I just think that abstinence is the only … 100 percent foolproof way to prevent pregnancy,” Bristol Palin said at the time.

Life with her son was documented on the 2012 Lifetime reality series Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp.

Bristol Palin also appeared on Dancing with the Stars in 2010, finishing third.

  • Rachel Dolezal Impression by Maya Rudolph Has ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’ Crowd in Stitches

Rachel Dolezal is, of course, the woman who recently stepped down from her position as head of the Spokane, Washington NAACP after it was determined she isn’t black. Dolezal’s parents blew her cover, telling the media she is, in fact, a white woman.

On Monday night, June 22nd, Maya Rudolph was a guest on Late Night With Seth Meyers. The Bridesmaids star and SNL alum was touting her upcoming film, The Spoils Before Dying. The conversation soon turned to the many similarities in appearance that both Rudolph and Rachel Dolezal share.

“I’ve been getting that thing kind of on a daily basis with Rachel Dolezal,” Rudolph explained of the many fans who have told her recently her she should return to Saturday Night Live to play Dolezal. “I remember Tina [Fey] saying when Sarah Palin was happening, everyone kept saying, her doorman’s like, ‘You gotta be Sarah Palin!’ But it happens to me every day, people are like, ‘Oh, it’s too bad, you haven’t been on SNL since 2007. You have to play this lady.’”

Maya Rudolph then pulled a wig from behind her chair, plopped the curls on top of her head, and proceeded to do her impression of Rachel Dolezal.

Maya Rudolph and Seth Meyers then spoofed an interview Rachel Dolezal gave the media shortly after the scandal first hit the news.

Did you happen to catch Maya Rudolph doing her Rachel Dolezal impression on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Monday?

Did you find it to be hilarious or is it too soon for comedians to be spoofing the situation?

  • Sarah Palin Embarrasses Herself With Late Comment on Duggars

Sarah Palin and daughter Bristol are late to the game in trying to use Lena Dunham to defend Josh Duggar. By now so many people have realized that the comparison does not hold water that they have stopped trying it. But Sarah and Bristol Palin apparently did not get the memo.

On her Facebook page, Sarah Palin started off with an all-caps tirade aimed at Lena Dunham.

“HEY LENA, WHY NOT LAUGH OFF EVERYONE’S SEXUAL ‘EXPERIMENTS’ AS YOU HAUGHTILY ENJOY REWARDS FOR YOUR OWN PERVERSION? YOU PEDOPHILE, YOU”

“I’m not an apologist for any sexual predator, but I’m sickened that the media gives their chosen ones a pass for any behavior as long as they share their leftwing politics,” Palin wrote. “Case in point, they suggest Lena Dunham’s sexual assault on her sibling is cute, and she’s rewarded for it with fame and fortune. Meanwhile, they crucify another, along with an entire family.”

Bristol Palin had already beat her mother to the punch on her own blog.

“I can’t believe how crazy the media is going over the Duggar family compared to the big fat yawn they gave Lena Dunham when she wrote in her book that she sexually experimented with her sister.”

In an earlier post, Bristol Palin had written about Lena Dunham’s admissions, saying:

“In one particularly unsettling passage, Dunham experimented with her six-year younger sister’s vagina.”

    She also said:

“Lena was curious about her toddler sister’s vagina.”

But the devil is in the detail that Bristol Palin and her mother skirted but did not admit to, for to admit it out loud would completely moot their argument:

Lena Dunham was seven years old.

They said her sister was a “toddler” and “six-years-younger,” which sounds shocking. But no one allowed the math into their print. Instead, they used those terms to demonize a seven-year-old as a parallel to Josh Duggar.

Lena Dunham addressed the twisting of her story by Conservatives last year.

Here is Sarah Palin’s full Facebook post:

  • Sarah Palin Slams Lena Dunham As “Pedophile” After Duggar Scandal

Sarah Palin took to Facebook earlier this week to slam Lena Dunham and the media’s treatment of the Duggar family, calling Dunham a “pedophile” for her actions as a 7-year old girl, which were documented in Dunham’s memoir Not That Kind Of Girl.

Palin especially takes umbrage at the fact that the Duggar family has been repeatedly called onto the carpet in recent weeks by the media for Josh Duggar’s actions–sexually molesting several young girls when he was a teenager, some of whom were his own sisters–when Dunham’s alleged actions were labeled by many as simple childhood curiosity. Dunham wrote in her book that as a 7-year old, she touched her 1-year old sister inappropriately and later bribed her with candy for kisses. Many found the passages about that time in her life upsetting, however, and the controversy still rages on as to whether Dunham was a sexual predator.

“Do I think what Lena Dunham did to her sister was sexual assault? Yes. And to those of you who have defended her heinous actions, YOUR voice is silencing to many commenters who openly discussed their own experiences of incest, sexual assault, etc. … It’s NOT NORMAL. It’s NOT OKAY,” wrote Lachrista Greco of Guerrilla Feminism.

Despite the backlash Dunham received, Palin insists that the liberal media is flooding news feeds with hypocrisy, and shared a Facebook post her daughter Bristol wrote.

“HEY LENA, WHY NOT LAUGH OFF EVERYONE’S SEXUAL “EXPERIMENTS” AS YOU HAUGHTILY ENJOY REWARDS FOR YOUR OWN PERVERSION? YOU PEDOPHILE, YOU. Radical liberals in media who have total control over public narratives are disgusting hypocrites, so says my daughter,” Palin wrote.

The Duggar family–stars of TLC’s 19 Kids And Counting–have been all over the headlines in recent weeks after a police report surfaced with details of Josh Duggar’s sexual abuse. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar sat down with Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly to tell their side of the story this week, but the interview has been widely criticized after it was reported that they held back some information, including the fact that they allegedly did not cooperate fully with a police investigation at the time. No charges were ever filed against Josh.

  • Sarah Palin: Awkward Wedding Party Will Go On, But No Wedding

Sarah Palin is back to making Facebook announcements to her legion of adoring fans. This one might have stung a little.

Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol was engaged to be married to one Dakota Meyer this weekend, on May 23. But Sarah Palin was obliged to inform her followers that the engagement is off.

“Bristol and Dakota couldn’t be more thankful for the love and support of family and friends over the past months while preparing for their wedding. They have informed loved ones that unfortunately the announced celebration planned for May 23 will not be held.”

The reason for the breakup, or at least call-off of the wedding, is not disclosed. But things got even weirder. The wedding was to have been in Kentucky. Now the wedding is off. But Sarah Palin insists that everyone is still invited to come party and eat “bar-b-que”.

“Many friends and family still look forward to getting together that day in Kentucky anyway – and the Palins and Meyers are happily looking forward to still being at ‘the old Kentucky home’ on May 23 to celebrate life, in general! Family members and close friends know they are welcome to share a great bar-b-que on the farm that day. All involved, especially Dakota, Bristol and Tripp, and their parents and grandparents, thank supporters for the love they’ve expressed.”

There have been some tabloid rumors that Dakota Meyer and Bristol Palin were on the outs because he had a secret wife. Sarah Palin used her own platform to allow Bristol to post a message about that.

“Regarding salacious headlines in recent days about “secret wives”, Dakota and I discussed our past relationships prior to our engagement. Dakota was legally divorced years ago, as any good reporter could and should have disclosed to readers. As usual, false stories and dramatically written headlines begging controversy should be disregarded, and we have faith that our privacy will be respected at this time by those with decency. Thank you! – Bristol”

Sarah Palin’s own stock has fallen recently when the man who penned a book about her and supported her VP bid in 2008 recanted his support.

Apparently he is among more than a few disaffected former Palin fans who are stunned at her sometimes-unintelligible speech at recent appearances.

The Washington Examiner’s Byron York said of Palin’s recent speech in Iowa: “It would be hard to say that Palin’s 35-minute talk had a theme.” But, one might ask, “Do they ever?”

Sarah Palin: Daughter Bristol Palin Calls Off Memorial Weekend Wedding to Dakota Meyer

Sarah Palin won’t marry daughter Bristol Palin off on Memorial Weekend as planned. Bristol and fiance Dakota Meyer have reportedly called off their wedding.

Recent tabloid rumors claim Meyer married a woman named Cassandra Wain back in 2008, and that he’d hidden the prior marriage from Bristol Palin.

Todd and Sarah Palin’s daughter announced her engagement to Dakota Meyer back in March.

Bristol shared an Instagram post following word about the cancellation of this upcoming weekend’s nuptials.

She didn’t include a caption with her post.

Sarah Palin announced that the wedding was off in a Facebook post earlier on Monday. It includes the same picture Bristol Palin posted on Instagram, but with more (not too much more) of an explanation.

Sarah Palin included a short statement from Bristol.

“Regarding salacious headlines in recent days about ‘secret wives,’ Dakota and I discussed our past relationships prior to our engagement. Dakota was legally divorced years ago, as any good reporter could and should have disclosed to readers. As usual, false stories and dramatically written headlines begging controversy should be disregarded, and we have faith that our privacy will be respected at this time by those with decency.”

Dakota Meyer is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the War in Afghanistan. He is best known for having been awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during the Battle of Ganjgal back on September 8, 2009, in Kunar Province, Afghanistan. He is the second youngest living Medal of Honor recipient, the third living recipient for either Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom–Afghanistan, and the first living Marine in 38 years to be honored in this way.

Do you expect there’s more behind Sarah Palin announcing the cancellation of Bristol’s wedding than the Palin family is ready to share with the media? And if so, are those tabloid rumors true?

  • Samantha Bee Lauded by Jon Stewart in Lengthy Goodbye

Samantha Bee has been a correspondent on Jon Stewart’s Daily Show for 12 years, and Stewart knew that her years on the show–and the countless laughs induced by her presence–most definitely warranted a very noteworthy goodbye.

Jon Stewart said that poignant goodbye on Wednesday night. He lauded Samantha Bee with a montage of clips from her 12 years on The Daily Show.

Some of Samantha Bee’s best moments over the years included her interviews at the 2004 Republican National Convention and her coverage of Sarah Palin. Both, of course, were included in the montage.

Jon Stewart brought Samantha Bee out onto the Daily Show stage following the tribute, for a proper goodbye.

So what’s next for Samantha Bee? She’s headed off to work on a new show somewhat reminiscent of Jon Stewart’s, where she will both executive produce and serve as host. In addition, she’s working on a new scripted series with her husband, another former correspondent on The Daily Show–Jason Jones.

Samantha Bee served longer than any other correspondent on The Daily Show. She no doubt has what it takes, however, to make it on her very own show.

Fans will no doubt stay tuned to TBS–where both her hosted show and the scripted series–are set to air in the near future.

  • Michele Bachmann Channels Sarah Palin as Absentee Muckraker

Michelle Bachmann did not seek reelection to the position in Congress that she rode to fame. She no longer has a seat at the table. But that doesn’t stop her from shouting at the table from a safe distance.

In a recent Facebook post, Michele Bachmann channeled another political armchair quarterback with a free Facebook account, Sarah Palin. Both seem to love piling on to President Obama, without having to put any more skin in the game than some ignored commenters.

Michele Bachmann was particularly chagrined with the activities of President Obama in bringing Iran to heel on the nuclear development front.

In her swipe at the president, Michele Bachmann referenced the recent tragedy of the cashed German airliner whose pilot had deliberately killed himself and every passenger.

“With his Iran deal, Barack Obama is for the 300 million souls of the United States what Andreas Lubitz was for the 150 souls on the German Wings flight – a deranged pilot flying his entire nation into the rocks. After the fact, among the smoldering remains of American cities, the shocked survivors will ask, why did he do it?”

Commenters on her post ranged widely. As can be expected there were rabid supporters:

“Thanks for telling it like it is.”

“Very apt analogy, Rep. Bachmann. You may not want to say this, but I will: Barack Hussein Obama does not like this country and is actively seeking to harm it.”

“he was voted in because he was a black man, only reason, im not sure if they knew his history, its pretty sketchy and the people don’t know or have a clue of the consequences, of islam, its definitely not a peace religion , its a fighting trynnay religion, I still have people telling me its a peace religion, when there countrys cant get there _____ together , its the 21st century.”

    And ardent opponents:

“Bachmann, you are as crazy as a rat in a coffee can.”

“This is truly disgusting, even for you.”

You truly are the epitome of moronic partisan politics that would sooner divide this great country than do anything positive to fix it!”

“I had the opportunity to speak to you on the Jim Bohannon Radio Show, back when you were running for President. You stated you were willing to start Nuclear War, basically World War III, by initiating Nuclear attacks on Iran. Even Mr. Bohanon was shocked. As we all know, we start Nuclear War and every single country that already has them, Russia, China, etc, will launch THEIRS as well. In other words, Mutually Assured Destruction. Also known as MAD. And contrary to the idiots who support this, such as yourself, NO ONE will survive a Nuclear Holocaust.”

“I just think its a crime the amount of abuse that President Obama has had to endure during his terms of office. If Michele Bachmann said this about someone in her community, she would be charged with slander. Or if a child in school claimed the same about one of his classmates, he would receive severe discipline for bullying. Why don’t certain politicians have to observe the same rules of decency and respect that we all learned as children? Our President and the office of the Presidency deserve respect.”

With his Iran deal, Barack Obama is for the 300 million souls of the United States what Andreas Lubitz was for the 150…

  • Phil Robertson Joins Former Rivals to Help Republicans Take Louisiana

Phil Robertson may not be your cup of tea. Maybe you don’t like how he carries around a Bible like some kind of totem, and advises young men to marry women who carry one too.

Maybe you don’t like how he denigrates gay people, wondering aloud how someone could prefer anus over vagina.

Maybe you don’t like how he reduces the complex issues of gender identity and transexuality to veiled accusatory phrases and bathroom jokes like he did at the “I Stand Sunday” event in Houston.

“For all you ladies in Texas, trust me when I tell you this, when you’re seated in your restroom putting on your Maybelline, when I need to take a leak I’m not going there,” he said to an approving crowd.

Maybe Phil Robertson doesn’t know any gay people or transexuals. Maybe if he did, like Dolly Parton does, he wouldn’t talk so flippantly about an issue that is rife with bullying, suicides, and depression.

Dolly said, “[A]s far as the Christians, if people want to pass judgment, they’re already sinning. The sin of judging is just as bad as any other sin they might say somebody else is committing.”

But at least you always know where you stand with Phil. He wants this country to seeing the way his “values” sit. He believes that, “bibles and guns brought us here, and bibles and guns will keep us here”.

Now Robertson is joining Sarah Palin to help shore up support for Rep. Bill Cassidy in his runoff race against Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu in Louisiana.

Robertson campaigned against Cassidy in the state’s primary, siding instead with his Republican opponent Rob Maness. But in Louisiana, if no one candidate gets more than 50% of the vote on Election Day, the top two vote-getters go head-to-head in a second runoff. Maness only got 14% compared to Cassidy’s 41%. Democrat Mary Landrieu got 42%. So now Cassidy faces Landrieu.

And that means all hands on deck for the Republicans, with Maness throwing his support behind Cassidy.

Given the amount of controversy that Robertson has attracted, some are surprised that Cassidy would take his help. But Cassidy needs that far-right element that loves Robertson so much — an element that voted for Maness in the primary — if he is to defeat the Democrat.

“It seems clear given the ideological stand point of (Maness) supporters and the come-togetherness that they will give their support to Cassidy,” LSU political scientist Robert Hogan said. “Maness wasn’t puling from the middle. The Tea Party is motivated, and they usually vote in elections.”

  • Sarah Palin Family Brawl Gets Comment from John McCain

John McCain is outspoken about a number of things, but he typically lets conversation about his former running mate Sarah Palin go across the plate without much comment.

News from the past month that Palin and her family were somehow involved in a “drunken brawl” at a birthday party in Anchorage, Alaska, has held on longer than expected. The initial gossip column reports turned into police report releases, which then turned into Facebook posts from Palin herself, then audio of police interviews getting leaked. When segments of that audio were played for the public on news outlets like CNN and others, people were shocked to hear long passages of censored language from Bristol Palin.

One news anchor found ridiculously long censored bits funny, and commented so to her audience. That reaction, as well as other commentary that the Palin kids’ behavior was a bit bizarre, was then characterized as an attack on conservative women.

Bristol Palin challenged that no one was paying attention to Hunter Biden’s discharge from the Naval Reserve — though many news stories were written about it — and no one cared that Chelsea Clinton’s father-in-law had a criminal record.

Sarah Palin backed her play with an appearance on Fox Business Network decrying liberals who engage in the “politics of personal destruction,” saying, “they want to crush us.”

John McCain admits that he knows little about what happened that night in Anchorage.

“I think these family affairs are — I don’t know much of the details about it,” McCain said. “Things happen in people’s families and I’m not excusing it, I’m not condemning it.”

But he says he thinks that liberals have not given Palin a fair shake in the media.

“I just know that the kind of coverage that this got, in my view, is in keeping with the kind of coverage the liberals have accorded to Sarah Palin for a number of years, which in my view, is biased and unfair and sometimes unacceptable,” McCain said.

McCain did not characterize this as a media attack against all conservative women, just Sarah Palin.

When Palin spoke to Fox Business Network, she hinted that she would like to run for office again someday. McCain said what a lot of people have said before him: it does not help her cause that she quit the last job she had.

“She didn’t ask my advice, but I had hoped she wouldn’t have stepped down when she did as governor of Alaska,” McCain said.

  • Bristol Palin, You’re No Chelsea Clinton

When audio was released of Bristol Palin’s now-infamous police interview after the “drunken brawl” she was involved in at a birthday party, something finally had to be said.

In the audio, Bristol cursed repeatedly — so much so that the “bleep” censor sound that most news outlets used to keep the clip from offending their audiences ran for long, uninterrupted flatline seconds. An anchor for CNN was quite amused by it, particularly the long bleeps, and ended up having to apologize for thinking it was funny.

Sarah Palin popped up on Fox Business Network to declare that her family was under attack because people thought Bristol’s rant was funny.

“The bottom line of course is those liberals … they are out there playing the politics of personal destruction. They do want to destroy personally those they disagree with. They’re very, very intolerant of those who maybe hold opposing views to their liberal failed agenda views. So, you know, they want to crush us.”

And Bristol took to her own blog to similarly declare the whole thing proof that The Media has a “bias against conservative women.”

After describing the events of the “brawl” as she saw and experienced them, Bristol Palin asked a very important question:

Why does the media still choose to put the Palins into an entirely different category of people?

She went on to compare the reporting the “brawl”, and particularly about her audio, to other high-profile political families and their children.

“Did you even hear about Vice President Joe Biden’s adult son who kicked out of the Navy for cocaine? (That’s the real Vice President’s kid…) So pause for a moment and consider the hysteria over our stupid ‘incident’, compared to our actual Vice President’s son not even being able to hold on to a position in the Navy Reserve.

“I’m sure you heard the happy news that Chelsea Clinton had a baby. But did you know her father-in-law and Clinton family pal Edward Mezvinsky is a convicted felon because of committing bank, wire, and mail fraud?

“Of course, you didn’t. Because the friends and family of the revered liberal elite are treated like delicate China. Don’t handle too roughly. They are precious. They are off limits. Don’t push on them too hard.

“In the meantime, I was pushed and held down by some guy… and the media salivates like a dog that’s just been given a bone.”

Here’s the problem: What Bristol is doing is making a false equivalency. First of all, Hunter Biden’s discharge was reported widely. But he didn’t go on a cursing rant about it — at least not one that got captured on audio.

But Chelsea Clinton? That was a startling comparison to make, and likely not one that Bristol thought through very well. She went on to compare her situation to a theoretical Chelsea situation.

“Imagine for a second the outrage that would happen if Chelsea Clinton had gotten pushed by some guy. Had she tried to defend herself, the liberal media would’ve held her up as some feminist hero.

    “But it wasn’t Chelsea.”

Columnist Nell Scovell has taken Bristol’s line of logic seriously. She does a side-by-side comparison of the kinds of things both Bristol and Chelsea have said in the past few months. The result is an obvious contrast in the kind of person each young woman presents herself to be to the world.

Chelsea Clinton would never have marched into a party, ready to pick a fight over some issue. Chelsea Clinton would never have cursed a blue streak at a police officer who was trying to find out who hurt her. Chelsea Clinton has had a life of high-profile privilege, sure. And she is parlaying that into a career, family, and respect.

Bristol Palin very likely is a nice woman who loves and does her best for her child. But she believes that people laugh at her because of her politics. All anyone really pays attention to are the long censor bleeps, the salacious news of brawls, and the ridiculousness of her mom’s response.

  • Sarah Palin Slams Liberals Over Drunken Brawl: ‘They Want to Crush Us’

Sarah Palin has caught crap from “the media” ever since John McCain pulled her out of obscurity as Governor of Alaska. Palin never became Vice President, and never finished her term as governor, but still remains a political firebrand, using her Facebook page and open invitation from Fox News to stay in the public eye.

When Palin was interviewed by Katie Couric and Charlie Rose during McCain’s ill-fated campaign in 2008, she dropped the ball pretty badly. She was unable to answer questions about George Bush’s policy of preemptive military action. She famously could not name which newspapers she read regularly.

In the televised debate with Joe Biden, she proudly announced that she would not necessarily “answer the questions that either the moderator or [Joe Biden] want to hear, but I’m going to talk straight to the American people,” using the forum as an opportunity to highlight her “track record.”

She declared herself a “Main Streeter”, a “Washington outsider”, and a “maverick.” She vowed to bring a “little bit of reality from Wasilla Main Street” to Washington.

It was in this debate that terms like “Joe Sixpack” and “hockey moms” leapt into America’s political discourse. She repeatedly used folksy expressions like “darn right” and “drill, baby, drill.” She winked at the camera.

These things caused the jokes to flow freely from late night talk shows and Sunday morning discussion panels.

When members of the press began to complain that the McCain campaign was keeping Palin from facing them to answer substantive questions, McCain appeared with Palin and accused “the media” of “gotcha journalism.”

Then came the Saturday Night Live spoofs that got as much or more attention that Palin herself, largely because they used actual quotes from her interviews.

Ever since the McCain/Palin ticket lost, there has been a strained relationship between Palin and “the media”. Recently, when her family was embroiled in what has been described as a “drunken brawl” at a party in Alaska, Palin was in the spotlight again. Audio from police interviews revealed what sounded like two of Palin’s children, Track and Bristol, in very inebriated states after the fight.

Bristol Palin declared the news stories about the fight to be an example of a “bias against conservative women” by a liberal media establishment. She argued that no one paid attention to Joe Biden’s son being kicked out of the Navy, though that was widely reported.

When a CNN anchor found the audio of Bristol’s post-fight rant funny, which caught her flak from all sides, she was forced to apologize. Her comments were also couched as something that would never have been said about President Obama’s daughters.

Recently, Palin appeared on the Fox Business Network and told Stuart Varney:

“The bottom line of course is those liberals, they love those Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, where they are out there playing the politics of personal destruction. They do want to destroy personally those they disagree with. They’re very, very intolerant of those who maybe hold opposing views to their liberal failed agenda views. So, you know, they want to crush us.”

Palin seemed to indicate that the recent negative attention her family has gotten is about political differences, about liberal versus conservative. The “liberal media,” she believes, hates her family.

But doesn’t the question deserve to be asked: Wouldn’t any famous family — especially one with a high-profile mother and a daughter who competed on Dancing with the Stars — that was in a “drunken brawl” and wound up on police tapes spewing profanity and half-drunken nonsense, soon find itself talked about on the news? Would it matter — in this age of YouTube videos, TMZ, and blogs — which political party they aligned with?

The attention the Palins get may not be about political differences. But it certainly is about entertainment. Her answers to Katie Couric were shockingly inane, and when re-couched by Tina Fey, they were funny. The police audio from the recent night in Anchorage was funny because it was profanity-strewn, not because Bristol got hurt.

Politics aside, Palin takes herself seriously, when loads of other people do not. It’s not about whether they agree with her. Palin makes the same mistake that Limbaugh has made for years before her: she paints all “liberals” — i.e. people who disagree with her, as well as anyone who would laugh at her daughter’s tirade — with the same brush.

Palin mentioned Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals book. This is likely a poke at Hillary Clinton, who did her senior thesis on the book in 1969, and was pilloried by conservatives for it in later years. Clinton’s analysis of the book has been characterized as “dispassionate, disappointed, and amused by [Alinsky’s] divisive methods and dogmatic ideology.” Nonetheless, Palin and others continue to bring it up as though it were an effective talking point.

If Palin read Rules for Radicals, she might find Rule #5 in that book:

“Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”

But just because you are being ridiculed doesn’t mean you’re being targeted politically. Sometimes it just means that people think you’re ridiculous.

  • Bristol Palin Opens Up About “Brawl”, Says Man Held Her Down

Bristol Palin has opened up about the “brawl” that allegedly occurred with her family recently, saying she can’t sit back and read lies about herself anymore.

The Palins were implicated in a fight on September 6, and stories spread around the web that alcohol and authorities were involved. But Bristol Palin says the media has it wrong, and she took to Patheos.com to set the record straight.

Palin says that after a man hit her friend from behind–resulting in an injury which required stitches–her sister, Willow, found the attacker’s mom and told her to get control of the situation. Instead, the woman allegedly pushed Willow, who got upset and found Bristol to tell her what had happened.

“By this point, I’d already gotten into the car. But when Willow ran to me crying, telling me that some lady had pushed her down, I got out of the car to go talk to her. Any big sister would do this…I never even got to talk to his mom, because a guy in his late thirties or early forties got in my face. He was towering over me – probably at 6 foot something and over 200 pounds. He puffed his chest out and started yelling. ‘You c-nt!’ he looked right in my eyes and said. ‘Get the f-ck out of here, you slut!’ I was alarmed that things had gotten so bad so fast. But it got even worse when this guy started pushing me. He had his hands on me, pushing me down. That’s when I swung and hit his face…It didn’t phase him. He pushed me down to the ground and kept me there. It was scary and awful. He held me down until someone got me out of the situation,” she wrote.

Palin is no stranger to public confrontation; in 2012, she was involved in an ugly incident at a bar after a man began verbally attacking her mother, Sarah Palin. She says she doesn’t understand why the media has run with the story of the recent altercation when there are other things they could focus on.

“This is what I don’t understand. I have mostly stayed out of the public eye for the past few years. I clock in and out of work – yes I actually have a job – like most middle class Americans and chip away at making my son’s life just a little bit easier. So why does the media still choose to put the Palins into an entirely different category of people? This “story” is still running over a month and a half later. In the meantime, did you even hear about Vice President Joe Biden’s adult son who kicked out of the Navy for cocaine? (That’s the real Vice President’s kid…) So pause for a moment and consider the hysteria over our stupid “incident”, compared to our actual Vice President’s son not even being able to hold on to a position in the Navy Reserve,” she wrote.

  • Bristol Palin Finally Speaks Out About Drunken Brawl

Just when you think the news has quieted down about it, here comes the next wave. After weeks of gossip column whispers, police report reprints, Facebook posts, deleted comments, tape releases, and amateur analysis, Bristol Palin is finally speaking out publicly about what happened the night of the “drunken brawl” that thrust the entire Palin family back into the smudgy end of the spotlight.

    First, a bit of background.

The incident, which took place on September 6, was originally reported as a brawl at a birthday party in Anchorage, Alaska. According to an Alaska gossip column, the party appeared to be for multiple people, including Todd Palin. During the party, someone insulted someone else, pushes came to shoves, then punches were thrown. Sarah Palin was heard shouting, “Do you know who I am?!” Bristol Palin repeatedly punched the party’s host and owner of the home. And, in the end, Track Palin was walking around shirtless on the street in front of the house, flipping people off.

Police were called, and people gave statements, including Bristol Palin and others. Police arrested no one, but the reports they wrote up that night were released to the public.

This week, police released audio of the interviews they conducted that evening. In the audio, Bristol Palin can be heard crying and cursing as she describes her side of what happened.

“Some old lady just fuckin’ pushed me. She just hit me. Oh, fuckin’ hell no, no one’s gonna touch my sister… We were in the limo. I walked back up, ‘Did you push my sister?’, and some guy gets in my face, pushes me down on the grass, drags me across the grass, ‘You slut! You fuckin’ cunt!’ I get back up, he pushes me down on the grass again and pulls me by my fuckin’ feet… They took my $300 sunglasses. They took my fuckin’ shoes… A guy comes out of nowhere and pushes me on the ground. Takes me by my feet, in my dress, in my thong dress, in front of everybody, ‘Come on, you cunt! Get the fuck out outta here. Come on, you slut! Get the fuck out of here.’ I don’t know this guy. I’ve never seen this guy in my life.”

According to the police report, the homeowner, Korey Klingenmeyer, is the person Bristol is indicating. Klingenmeyer tells police a different version. He says that Bristol came storming in to start a fight with someone.

“Korey said that he approached Bristol and got in her way, telling her that it was his house and party and that she was not going to start any fights and that she needed to leave. Korey said that he then told Bristol to leave again and she began punching him in the face repeatedly, using both hands. Korey said that it did not knock him down but that it hurt and he grabbed Bristol’s arm and held her back, pushing her down while holding her hand as she was attempting to strike him.”

Willow Palin is heard on the police audio saying, “Korey with the red shirt! He pushes Bristol down on the fucking ground …” She denied that her sister hit Klingenmeyer. But, one partygoer claimed to have captured the incident on video, telling police, “It’s on video! You guys wanna watch it?!” Willow then adjusted, saying, “She missed every fucking time!”

Other portions of police audio feature a very drunk-acting Track Palin giving his statement, which included him misspelling his own last name.

Sarah Palin herself is heard admonishing her kids not to cuss, praising God when Track finds a necklace he had dropped. Later, she yells at police, “I just don’t understand how a girl can get jumped for no reason!” As other partygoers file by to leave, she says, “… They let the bad guys go! … Why do these bad guys get to walk right on by … and Bristol and Willow are the ones who get trashed, made to feel like bad guys? I don’t get it.”

Some days later, Sarah Palin made a point to praise Bristol on her Facebook page, calling her a “straight-shooter” and “one of the strongest young women you’ll ever meet.”

Now Bristol Palin is speaking out about the incident, which is fresh in the public’s mind again since the audio was released. She calls the reporting a revelation of a “bias against conservative women” by The Media.

In her own words, Bristol Palin tells the story:

“Our friend got knocked out from a cheap shot from behind… Why would anyone do this? Well, here’s a hint. The guy was on social media during this incident, tweeting, ‘about to get famous.’

When Willow saw all this happening she looked at the guy’s mom and said, ‘Get ahold of your son.’ But apparently the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree, because his mom pushed Willow. A grown woman pushed my little sister.

By this point, I’d already gotten into the car. But when Willow ran to me crying, telling me that some lady had pushed her down, I got out of the car to go talk to her. Any big sister would do this…

After I got out of the car, I didn’t get far. I never even got to talk to his mom, because a guy in his late thirties or early forties got in my face. He was towering over me – probably at 6 foot something and over 200 pounds. He puffed his chest out and started yelling.

‘You c-nt!’ he looked right in my eyes and said. ‘Get the f-ck out of here, you slut!’

I was alarmed that things had gotten so bad so fast. But it got even worse when this guy started pushing me. He had his hands on me, pushing me down. That’s when I swung and hit his face… Some would say I should’ve never retaliated in defense against him, but certainly he should never have pushed a girl. It didn’t phase him. He pushed me down to the ground and kept me there… It was scary and awful. He held me down until someone got me out of the situation.”

Bristol goes on to claim that this minor incident is getting major attention because she is a conservative. She said that hardly any attention was paid to Hunter Biden’s discharge from the Navy when he failed a drug test. She said that no one pays attention to the fact that Chelsea Clinton’s father-in-law, Edward Mezvinsky, is a convicted felon. She says that this is because those people are liberals, and that liberals are given a free pass by a biased media.

  • Bristol Palin: Drunken Brawl Started in Defense of Sister

Bristol Palin and other members of Sarah Palin’s family attended a house party in Anchorage, Alaska last month–reportedly a birthday party for the homeowner’s twins and for Todd Palin–that ended in a drunken brawl. Bristol claims the brawl started when she was defending her younger sister, Willow Palin.

ABC News obtained audio from the scene after police arrived to break things up. Bristol Palin is heard describing the fight to officers, and explaining to them that her “5-year-old [is] in the car!”

It seems Bristol was waiting in a rented limo outside of the home where the party took place. Willow approached the limo, telling her sister that an ‘old lady’ came up to her and ‘pushed her.’

Bristol told officers, “Oh f****** hell no, no one is going to touch my sister.”

Some reports even claim that Sarah Palin got involved in this brawl, at one point screaming, ‘Don’t you know who I am?’

In a previously released police report, Bristol is described as “heavily intoxicated and upset,” as she explains to officers that she confronted the woman. Following that confrontation she said a man “gets in my face, pushes me down on the grass, drags me across the grass.” She reports that the man swore at her and called her a ‘slut’ as well as other derogatory names.

Bristol Palin then says she was pushed down again and pulled by her feet by the man who “comes out of nowhere,” identified in the earlier police report as Korey Klingenmeyer. He reportedly owns the home where the party took place.

Palin says she doesn’t know Klingenmeyer.

Earlier in October, prosecutors said they wouldn’t proceed with charges in the drunken brawl–even though Klingenmeyer told officers in the police report that Bristol Palin punched him five to six times in the face and that she was “hitting pretty hard.”

He told authorities that he asked Bristol Palin to leave and she responded, “Who the f*** are you?” Klingenmeyer told her he owned the home and Palin said she didn’t believe him and “she will kick his a**.”

It sounds like Bristol Palin–and other members of Sarah Palin’s family–dodged a bullet this time. Even though Bristol claims the brawl started in defense of Willow Palin, it certainly sounds like there was some incredibly unacceptable behavior at play–much of it on behalf of the former vice-presidential candidates’s family.
