The film is the first of a planned remake/prequel/sequel/reboot trilogy, and Genisys is set to be released on July 1, 2015. The two sequels have the scheduled release dates of May 19, 2017 and June 29, 2018, respectively.

At the Los Angeles offensive, John’s fears of the unknown future begin to emerge when TECOM spies reveal a new plot by SkyNet that will attack him from both fronts; past and future, and will ultimately change warfare forever.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger reprises his iconic role as the Terminator T-800 model, and the trailer features a new Sarah Conner (played by Emilia Clarke), a new Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) and a new, heavily scarred John Connor (Jason Clarke). A new, liquid metal T-1000 model is played by South Korean actor Byung-hun Lee.

    Here is the trailer:

Fans of the Terminator series seem a bit skeptical over the latest reworking of the cash-cow franchise:

All in all, the trailer does feature a scene in which Schwarzenegger dives into helicopter blades.

Terminator Genysis was directed by Alan Taylor, and written by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. The film had a budget of roughly $170 million.

  • Emilia Clarke Cast In Upcoming “Terminator” Film

In the newly announced and upcoming Terminator reboot, Emilia Clarke has been chosen to play the role of Sarah Connor. It is a role of high demand, and one that was made famous by Linda Hamilton in James Cameron’s classic 1984 film, The Terminator.

The casting for Sarah Connor was initially narrowed down to two remaining actresses, Emilia Clarke and Brie Larson, and it was recently reported that Clarke has emerged as the choice for the role.

The new film is being directed by Alan Taylor, who previously directed Game Of Thrones, giving Emilia Clarke a bit of an edge over Larson, and others competing for the role. Clarke has secured the iconic role of Sarah Connor, a central role in the upcoming film, which has yet to be given a title.

She is the future mother of John Connor, who grows up to be the leader of the human resistance in the war between humanity and the cyborgs. The role of John Connor has not been cast yet, however Jason Clarke is in talks for the role. This film will include a young Kyle Reese and an adult Connor, the Terminator robot is tasked to protect Sarah Connor from childhood and into young adulthood.

After receiving much support from her beloved Game of Thrones fans, the casting of Emilia Clarke is likely to make a lot of people happy. She plays the role of Daenerys Targaryen in the popular HBO series, and in addition to her upcoming role of Sarah Connor, she is set to appear in the upcoming film Dom Hemingway.

The new Terminator film will be presented by Paramount, Annapurna Pictures and Skydance Productions in a a collaborative big-budget effort that will also see Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his role as the terminator.

In addition to the new film, fans of the Terminator series are also able to get excited over a new television series that will be made in conjunction with the film. The television idea has already been done once, and while The Sarah Connor Chronicles proved to be a failure for the most part, perhaps another shot at the idea could give it success. Emilia Clarke also has an interesting connection to the first series since her Game Of Thrones co-star Lena Headey was the one who played Sarah Connor in the show.

With Emilia Clarke cast in the role of Sarah Connor in the upcoming Terminator film, the 26-year-old actress will be looking at even more success, and expanding on her career with another big role in a fantasy series.

  • New Terminator TV Show Is Coming, Connected To Film Reboot

Fans of the Terminator series can all get ready to get excited, because a new television series will be coming out in relation to the reboot of the film franchise. The show is still in the early stages of development, and without a title as of yet, but will be done in conjunction with the upcoming film in 2015.

The Terminator television show will be written and executive produced by Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller, who have previously worked on X-Men: First Class and Thor. A television show has been done before, as fans of the franchise are well aware, but it did not enjoy the success that the previous films had.

The Sarah Connor Chronicles starred Lena Headey as Sarah Connor, and Thomas Dekker played the role of John Connor. Since then, Lena Headey has been on the popular series Game Of Thrones, and coincidentally her co-star Emilia Clarke is one of the top two front-runners to be cast as Sarah Connor in the next film, along with Brie Larson.

The new Terminator film is set to be released in 2015, and it has been reported that much like how Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD has merged with the plots of The Avengers and Thor, the new Terminator television series would work the same way, operating in conjunction with the new film reboot.

The plot details are very scarce for both the film reboot and the Terminator television series, however, both are set to have a connection with the original Terminator film that was released in 1984. One thing that has been determined is that Arnold Schwarzenegger will be making a return as the title character. After the role of Sarah Connor is cast, the next big job will be the casting of John Connor.

The first Terminator television series ultimately failed, but did have a niche set of fans when it was on, much like a Joss Whedon show. The idea of a television show based on the Arnold Schwarzenegger franchise is now being brought back to the small screen from Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures, with the hopes that it can work as a side project with the films.

The Terminator show is set to follow a critical moment from The Terminator film, only the show will take the story in a completely different direction than that of what the film did. Since James Cameron created the franchise in 1984, Terminator films have earned more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office, and have been very popular for many years.

  • Emilia Clarke Emerges As Front-runner To Play Sarah Connor

In yet another Terminator reboot, the casting for Sarah Connor is up for question, and the choices are being quickly narrowed down. Two young actresses, Emilia Clarke and Brie Larson, have emerged as the front-runners for the role.

After the great amount of success that the first two films received, the ones that followed have been a bit of a disappointment, but only time will tell on whether this film will be able to revive the franchise.

Emilia Clarke and Brie Larson have both tested for the producers of the film, and it seems that the director may be favoring Emilia Clarke to move forward with the role. She may have the edge, in part, due to the fact that she has worked with the director already on Game Of Thrones.

Both Clarke and Larson have gained a lot of attention over the past year, and Emilia Clarke especially has become a favorite to fans over the past three seasons of Game Of Thrones, in the role of Daenerys Targaryen. Emilia Clarke just may have what it takes to take one of Hollywood’s most beloved heroines, originally brought to the screen by Linda Hamilton in James Cameron’s classic.

In addtion to Emilia Clarke, Brie Larson is the other finalist for the role, and the 24-year-old actress has been noticed by several critics in the past year. She will certainly continue to be looked at, and discussed as the awards season quickly approaches, after appearing in three films including Short Term 12, which is likely to give her several award nominations.

Who do you think should be chosen for the role of Sarah Connor? Should the reboot even be happening? Share your thoughts.

A reboot of the series is set for a release date of July 2015. However, the completion of the franchise is expected to span at least two films, giving fans even more of the beloved franchise. The film will be presented by Paramount, and directed by Alan Taylor, who recently made Thor: The Dark World. The role of John Connor is waiting to be cast until after Sarah Connor, and Kyle Reese is also set to make an appearance in the film.

After the downfall of the last couple of Terminator films, it only makes sense that they restart from the beginning, and hope to regain the interest of the fans again. While it is still unclear who will be chosen to go through with the role of Sarah Connor, Emilia Clarke and Brie Larson have both shown strong acting skills, and fans would likely be happy with either of them in the role.

Emilia Clarke looks to be emerging as the favorite due to her immense success and popularity in Game Of Thrones, and she just may be the perfect fit for a young Sarah Connor.
