  • Stephanie Tanner, Jodie Sweetin’s “Fuller House” Character, Romances San Francisco Giants Right Fielder in Episode 10

Stephanie Tanner is back. Jodie Sweetin has reprised her Full House role for the show’s Netflix reboot Fuller House. Now living in her childhood home alongside sister D.J. Tanner (played by Candace Cameron Bure) and D.J.’s best friend Kimmy Gibbler (played by Andrea Barber), Stephanie Tanner is single, so she loves going out on dates.

Romper.com reports that in season 10, Stephanie Tanner lands a date with San Francisco Giants right fielder Hunter Pence. It seems Pence gets Stephanie a gig singing at his baseball game, as well as tickets for the family to see the game and hear Stephanie Tanner sing.

In real life, Hunter Pence is engaged. He proposed to girlfriend Alexis Cozombolidis at Disney World in December.

In real life, Stephanie Tanner–well, the actor who plays her–is engaged, too. Jodie Sweetin and Justin Hodak announced their engagement last month.

Hodak shared a very romantic Instagram post in honor of Jodie Sweetin’s recent birthday.

“To my one and only @jodiesweetin. I love you more than anything. Happy Birthday. May we grow together for many more to come,” he captioned it.

Although a wedding date hasn’t yet been announced, this will be the fourth marriage for both Jodie Sweetin and Justin Hodak.

Are you excited to see Jodie Sweetin–as Stephanie Tanner–back on TV in the Netflix reboot Fuller House?

  • Kansas City Royals Leading World Series 2-1: Why This Might Spell Doom For The San Francisco Giants

The Kansas City Royals are now in the driver’s seat after beating the San Francisco Giants 3-2.

This victory puts the World Series at 2-1 and gives Kansas City home field advantage going into the next game.

It is the second straight win for a fired-up Kansas City team, one that hasn’t claimed a World Series win since 1985.

Things have gone far more swimmingly for the Giants, who are hoping to win their third title in five seasons.

Understandably, the Kansas City Royals were something of an underdog coming into these seven games.

In a surprising turn of events, it is the Royals that have the upper hand.

And if things follow a familiar pattern, it could mean great news for Kansas City Royals fans.

It turns out that teams that take the 2-1 lead following a 1-1 go on to win the entire World Series most of the time.

If that weren’t bad enough for fans of the San Franciso Giants, there’s another troubling fact to contend with.

The Giants apparently aren’t that great at playing catch up, often going on to lose the World Series games in this type of scenario.

As Scarlet O’Hara said, “Tomorrow is another day.”

It’s possible that the a determined San Francisco Giants team could march onto the field at Kansas City and proceed play the Royals off the field of their own stadium!

All that we know is that the odds are not in their favor.

One exciting and bizarre takeaway from the 2014 World Series is that we may get a shiny new superstition courtesy of the Kansas City Royals. Or more specifically “Royals” by Lorde.

It seems that San Francisco Giants fans went to great lengths to get the song banned from the airwaves until after the Series is over.

Meanwhile, at least one Kansas City radio station intends to play Lorde’s song every hour on the hour.

It could be that the outcome of this World Series will lead some to view “Royals” as either a good luck charm or major jinx.

Who do you think will win the World Series: The San Francisco Giants or the Kansas City Royals?

  • San Francisco Batkid Throws First Pitch at Giants Game

Miles Scott, better known as the famous Batkid, made a grand appearance Tuesday at the Giants stadium in California.

The 5-year-old boy, whose leukemia is on remission, became San Francisco’s superhero in 2013 through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Greater Bay Area made a rendition of Gotham City and designed a stage of crimes where Batkid had to save the day, including the team’s mascot, Lou Seal, and a damsel in distress. President Obama left Batkid an endearing video message and the mayor even presented the miniature superhero with keys to the city.

Ever since then, Batkid’s stardom has taken off.

Tuesday’s event, however, was more of a celebration for the Giants’ home opener and game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Batkid was chosen as the honorary pitcher for the team and had the chance to throw out the first pitch during the ceremony.

He arrived at the park in a Batmobile styled Lamborghini, which he helped steer inside the arena.

Check out this Vine showing his impressive entrance:

As Batkid exited from the driver’s seat, he fixed his superhero helmet and waved to the roaring crowd. He was then greeted by baseball player and Giants pitcher Matt Cain and was led to the mound.

While alongside his partner Batman, he threw the first pitch.

It bounced off the ground a few times before making it to Cain, but there’s no denying that the kid has a strong arm for his age!

Cain and Batkid ended their bonding moment with some final snapshots and then San Francisco’s superhero fist pumped goodbye to the crowd.

  • Madison Bumgarner Earns 50th Career Win

If you’re a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Madison Bumgarner is probably one of your least favorite people right now.

On Saturday the San Francisco Giants handed the Dodgers another loss in the series, while Bumgarner garnered (see what I did there) his 50th career win.

Working into the seventh inning, Bumgarner had 10 strike outs. Only two runs were allowed by the Giants defense.

The Giants offense were also pretty on point during Saturday’s game. Home runs from Michael Morse, Pablo Sandoval and Buster Posey gave the Giants a 7-1 lead by the bottom of the sixth. While the Giants didn’t get anymore runs after the sixth inning, it didn’t really matter since the Dodgers only got one more run at the bottom of the seventh.

“We’ve always had a good defensive team, and we’re starting to swing the bats now. So we’re a pretty well-rounded team. Today the bullpen came in and did a great job, and the offense was unbelievable again. It’s nice to have that kind of support. It makes it easier to go after guys and challenge them,” said Bumgarner.

During his 6 1/3 innings, the left-hander was charged with only eight hits and two runs.

Said Bumgarner, “I was throwing a little bit of everything. It seemed like they had a lot of baserunners today, but I felt like I made good pitches all day. The command was there and my stuff was pretty good.” He added, “You don’t want to give guys free passes at any time. You have to make them earn it of you can. But at the same time, you don’t want to just give in and just throw a meatball up there. You’ve got to make pitches and work on command and get ahead of guys.”

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Saturday’s win makes Bumgarner the fourth-youngest pitcher in Giants franchise history to reach the 50-win mark.

  • Melky Cabrera Suspended For Positive Drug Test

Melky Cabrera, outfielder for the San Francisco Giants, has been suspended for fifty games as of this afternoon, after officials discovered he’d tested positive for testosterone. This is his first season with the Giants.

Cabrera previously played for the Kansas City Royals, the Atlanta Braves, and the Yankees before signing on with the Giants, and some would say this has been his best season yet. He has the second-highest batting average in the National League and was elected MVP of the 2012 All-Star Game. He released a statement today regarding the drug test and apologized for letting down his teammates. The Giants are currently tied with the L.A. Dodgers for first place in the National League West.

“My positive test was the result of my use of a substance I should not have used,” Cabrera said. “I accept my suspension under the Joint Drug Program and I will try to move on with my life. I am deeply sorry for my mistake and I apologize to my teammates, to the San Francisco Giants organization and to the fans for letting them down.”

Cabrera’s suspension is to be held without pay and is effective immediately, meaning he will miss the rest of this season and, more than likely, the beginning of next season.

  • Matt Cain Pitches First Perfect Game In Giants History

The San Francisco Giants have a long and illustrious past. They were the first franchise to get to 10,000 wins. They were once so good they refused to play in the World Series because they “considered the new American League as little more than a minor league.” They are the team responsible for “The Shot Heard Round The World” which is one of the most famous sports calls in history. But, for all of their accolades, there is one thing that had never been done in the 130 year history of the San Francisco Giants.

    (image)

On Wednesday night Matt Cain became the first Giants pitcher in their 130 year history to pitch a perfect game. Earlier this year the big story for Cain was whether or not he was even going to be a Giant next year because this was the last year of his contract. Near the end of Spring Training though, the Giants and Cain were able to work out a deal that is the richest contract in the history of Major League Baseball for a right hander. Last night the 5 year $112.5 million contract was justified in just 9 innings.

The game was not without drama, even though Cain struck out 14 Astros hitters. In the 7th inning a ball was driven deep into “Triples Ally” and Gregor Blanco made a diving catch to save the game. “That was the defining play,” Cain said. “He makes that play in the beginning of the seventh inning, and then I had to get two more outs. The place is going crazy and I was literally having to re-check myself to be able to see the signs that Buster was putting down because it was so much adrenaline, so much stuff going on.”

    (image)

This perfect game was the first in Giants history, but it was also the 22nd in Major League Baseball history, with the last one coming on April 1st of 2012. Cain wasn’t the only one with nerves though. Catcher Buster Posey was feeling it too. “I was as nervous as I’ve ever been on a baseball field, not gonna lie,” Posey said. “It’s a different type of nervousness than in the World Series or playoffs because you want so much to put the right pitch down. But ultimately this is a guy making pitches and what I just tried to do is be confident in everything I called and not deviate from what I had done the entire game.”

As you can see from Cain’s line, he pitched so good, some are calling it one of the greatest games ever pitched. His overall game score of 101 is the second highest game score in the history of baseball, behind only Kerry Wood’s 20 strikeout gem.
