  • Donny Osmond Going Under the Knife, in Good Hands With Adele, Sam Smith Doctor

Donny Osmond has a bleeding lesion on his right vocal cord and will be having surgery to repair it. After a reasonable respite following the surgery, his voice will be good as new. The male half of the Donny & Marie singing duo–he and sister Marie Osmond are presently performing in Las Vegas–knows he’s in good hands because his surgeon has recently operated on other big names in the music world.

Dr. Steven M. Zeitel of Harvard Medical School is doing Donny Osmond’s surgery. He is the doctor who restored Adele back to fine singing order and recently operated on Sam Smith, too.

While this isn’t a life-threatening surgery, it is very serious, because for singers like Adele, Sam Smith, and Donny Osmond, it could be career ending if not done properly.

Given Dr. Zeitel’s previous successes, he was the obvious choice for Donny Osmond’s surgery.

Fans of Donny & Marie will be disappointed if they have tickets for the brother and sister act’s September shows. Shows for that month have been cancelled. However by October it is expected that Donny Osmond will be back in business and singing with his sister again.

Do you think singers like Donny Osmond, Adele, and Sam Smith are severely overworked? It’s only in recent years that bleeding on the vocal cords in popular singers has been prevalent in the news. Should some of these singers slow down a bit? Even if they don’t make quite as much money, perhaps they will enjoy better health, and not subject themselves to this serious vocal cord injury that is only corrected through surgery.

  • Miranda Lambert Need Same Vocal Surgery as Sam Smith, Adele?

Miranda Lambert hated to disappoint her fans waiting to see her at Calgary Stampede on Thursday night, but when you make a living with your voice, you protect it. Lambert’s doctor told her she needed to let it rest, so she did.

“I am so sorry that I can’t be at Stampede this week, but I’ll be back in Calgary just as soon as I can for all of my Stampede fans,” Lambert said in a statement.

“We understand that this news is disappointing for fans,” says Paul Rosenberg, Chief Operating Officer. “We will know more about rescheduling the concert later; in the meantime, we hope that fans use their tickets for admission to Stampede and enjoy all that we have to offer- including live country music at Nashville North.”

Word then got out that Miranda Lambert is suffering from a serious inflammation in her vocal cords. It seems like so many singers are having this problem lately. Sam Smith is famously undergoing surgery to correct problems. Smith, Meghan Trainor, and Adele have all had to cancel shows due to vocal issues.

Meanwhile, Dave Grohl screams himself silly every night, and even plays on while having his leg and ankle braced. What gicves with all these vocal problems, like those Lambert has?

When Sam Smith was forced to cancel tour dates in Australia and Japan, he later revealed that his vocal cords were hemorrhaging and he needed surgery. He has since gotten that surgery, but professionals warn that his voice will sound different.

“His voice will definitely change,” says Dr. Michelle Yagoda, a noted otalaryngologist.

Adele also suffered with vocal cord hemorrhage. And she had surgery, as well. Her voice appeared to make a full recovery, and she went on to perform live and record.

Will Miranda Lambert end up needing surgery?

There are no specific details available yet about Miranda Lambert’s situation, but the Mayo Clinic does offer some information about vocal cord inflammation, in general.

Vocal cord inflammation, such as that suffered by Miranda Lambert, is commonly called laryngitis. With this condition, “the voice sounds hoarse … in some cases almost undetectable.”

“Most cases of laryngitis are triggered by a temporary viral infection or vocal strain and aren’t serious. Persistent hoarseness can sometimes signal a more serious underlying medical condition.”

Fans have their fingers crossed that Miranda Lambert makes a full recovery. Maybe she should start chewing Dave Grohl’s brand of gum.

  • Meghan Trainor, ‘All About That Bass’ Singer, Suffering Hemorrhage On Vocal Chords, Postpones Gigs

Meghan Trainor has had to postpone a couple of gigs after it was discovered that she was suffering a hemorrhage on her vocal cords.

Trainer, 21, announced Thursday night via Instagram that doctors diagnosed a hemorrhage on her vocal cords, saying that she will need to rest her voice to allow healing. The diagnosis forced the singer to postpone two gigs of her MTrain Tour.

“I have never missed a tour date before so this is killing me,” she told fans on Instagram. “I love you all very much and want to get healed quickly so I can show you this amazing tour we’ve been working on.”

Meghan apologized to fans for canceling the gigs and letting fans down.

Meghan Trainor also posted a video to Instagram from New York where she expressed her thoughts via text on her phone screen.

The All About That Bass singer also posted a video to Instagram from New York City, where she is getting a doctor’s second opinion, sharing her distress via text on her phone screen.

“So frustrated, but cant make any noise,” she captioned the pic.

These singers need to give those powerful voices a rest. Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger and Sam Smith have also had issues with their vocal cords this year.

On Friday, Meghan thanked her “Megatronz” for “sending so much love” via Twitter.

Give it a rest Meghan Trainor. Your fans just want you to heal up properly.

Sam Smith, the Grammy Award-winning singer known for hit songs like like ‘Stay With Me,’ is showing off a far more svelte physique these days, thanks to losing some significant weight. Spotted on the red carpet for the NRJ Music Tour in Lille, France on Tuesday, March 31st, it’s plain to see he has taken off many pounds.

Last month Sam Smith explained how he had lost 14 pounds in just two weeks when he started on his new diet.

“Three weeks ago I met a woman who has completely changed my life. Amelia Freer has helped me lose over a stone in 2 weeks and has completely transformed my relationship with food. Everyone go check out her incredible book, and start to live healthy. It’s not even about weight loss it’s about feeling happy in yourself. Amelia Freer recently spoke to Good Morning America about her work with Sam Smith. She explained that she worked with the singer on cutting on sugar and processed foods.

“For me the key is about it being real,” she said. “Getting back in the kitchen, cooking from scratch, making sure they are not relying on junk processed convenience food.”

It’s plain by taking even a glimpse at Sam Smith to see he has lost significant weight.

Now that word is out about how Sam Smith lost his weight, Amelia Freer will no doubt become even more popular.

  • Zayn Malik Releases Solo Ballad On Heels of One Direction Exit

Zayn Malik Releases Solo Ballad On Heels of One Direction Exit

Zayn Malik announced less than a week ago that he was leaving One Direction behind. Now the former boy band member has released his first solo song.

‘I Won’t Mind’ came out on Monday–first on Soundcloud, then later on YouTube. It is a soft ballad featuring Zayn Malik’s vocals against a background of acoustic guitar.

A rep for Zayn Malik confirmed that yes, it is the former One Direction member, singing the song. The song is produced by Naughty Boy Music, and the company–known for working with music greats like Sam Smith–was accused of starting trouble with Zayn’s former One Direction mate Louis Tomlinson.

Naughty Boy raised Louis Tomlinson’s ire by retweeting a video that included the words, “Naughty Boy Saved My Life Zaughty.” It seems Louis took it as a reference to Zayn Malik having left One Direction.

Naughty Boy said the message wasn’t about Malik. That doesn’t necessarily ring true, however.

Billboard jumped on the bandwagon and helped promote Zayn Malik’s new song.

What’s your take on Zayn Malik’s new song. ‘I Won’t Mind?’ Do you think he was already working on his solo music before he left One Direction?

Chrissy Teigen and Ludacris will take the stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 17th as hosts of the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. ABC and dick clark productions announced the date, time, and hosts for the event on Monday.

This is the second time hosting for Ludacris. Chrissy Teigen will no doubt add an element of sex appeal to this year’s show.

“If my extensive collection of all 53 ‘Now That’s What I Call Music’ compilations is any indication, I am both qualified and honored to join Ludacris in hosting this amazing show that spotlights the best music and artists of the year,” Chrissy Teigen said in a statement following the announcement.

“I had so much fun hosting the Billboard Music Awards last year and I can’t wait to be back!” Ludacris said.

The finalists for the 2015 Billboard Music Awards will be announced on April 7th. The winners, however, won’t be announced until May 17th at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.

Last year’s winners included Justin Timberlake. The dad-to-be took home eight awards last year–one of which was for top artist. Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams were big winners, too, for ‘Blurred Lines,’ the song that just cost them millions in court.

Chrissy Teigen is, of course, married to John Legend. He will likely be on hand to watch his wife co-host the awards show with Ludacris.

Will you be tuning in to the 2015 Billboard Music Awards in May? Who do you expect might be among some of the year’s big winners? Sam Smith swept the Grammy Awards and did well at the iHeart Music Awards for this year, too. Do you think he will rake in some awards at the Billboard Music Awards, too?

  • Carrie Underwood Releases New Music Video, ‘Little Toy Guns’

Carrie Underwood is pregnant with her first baby, but that hasn’t kept her from making new music, and sharing that music with her fans. Underwood released a new music video for ‘Little Toy Guns’ with her fans last week.

‘Little Toy Guns’ is about how words can deeply wound children. Carrie Underwood talked about its meaning during a recent interview.

“It’s about words. It’s about a child hearing her parents fighting,” Underwood explained. “Even at a young age she realizes how much they hurt. And she wishes they were plastic and fake, like toys, and they didn’t actually cause any damage.”

The video shows a child sitting in her room by herself as she hears her mother screaming at her father.

“What do you have to say for yourself? Do you even care? It makes me sick to my stomach. I can’t believe I married you,” the wife screams at her husband.

The music video premiered on Friday via Carried Underwood’s Facebook page.

In true Carrie Underwood fashion, the emotion in this new music video runs as high as her singing talent.

In other Carrie Underwood news, the country singer appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, helping perform Queen’s ‘We Are the Champions’ along with Fallon, The Roots, Sam Smith, Ariana Grande, Blake Shelton, Usher, Meghan Trainor, One Direction, and Christina Aguilera. The a cappella version was re-written in congratulations to the New England Patriots for winning the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Are you a Carrie Underwood fan? What do you think of her new music video? Does ‘Little Toy Guns‘ not tug at your heart strings?

  • Dianna Agron Plays Jilted Wife In Sam Smith Video

Dianna Agron Plays Jilted Wife In Sam Smith Video

Dianna Agron has come a long way from her days on Glee as Quinn Fabray. The lovely blonde starlet is coming into her own in Hollywood and is a great up-and-comer to watch!

Dianna Agron is currently filming a movie called Headlock with Justin Bartha and Andy Garcia. There is not much known about the plot yet, but with a cast like that, it’s sure to be a great movie!

However, the reason everyone is talking about Dianna Agron isn’t her upcoming movie or the other options that will surely present themselves to her in the future.

Everyone’s talking about Dianna Agron’s role in the new Sam Smith video for I’m Not the Only One.

In the video, Dianna Agron plays a jilted wife whose husband (played by The Mindy Project‘s Chris Messina) cheats on her, with a somewhat less attractive woman, while he is presumably supposed to be at work. After a few drinks, Dianna Agron’s character exacts revenge on the jerk by burning his stuff.

Dianna Agron is beautiful and poised as the happy housewife. Then, sometime during her drunk drive to the store to by lighter fluid, she becomes drenched in tears, mascara, and incredible anger.

It’s really quite entertaining and surprising to watch her transformation, but the strangest part is watching Dianna Agron go from sloppy drunk and maniacal all the way back to polished happy housewife when her husband returns.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S69lbKwQJow

It’s really a great piece of film showing an entire slice of a much bigger story in only four minutes and 39 seconds. It was such a great choice to put Dianna Agron in as the woman scorned.

Good luck to Dianna Agron in her acting future! I’m certain she won’t disappoint!
