  • Amanda Bynes Committed, Reportedly Feels Parents Deceived Her

Amanda Bynes is presently confined to a mental facility in Pasadena, and TMZ is reporting that she hates her parents, and blames them for having her committed.

The publication reports that her parents worked in conjunction with Sam Lufti–Britney Spears’ former manager–to lure her back to L.A. from New York City.

“Lutfi convinced her to take a car service to what she believed was a Pasadena law office, where she would meet with a lawyer about suing her parents for abuse. The building was actually a mental facility. When she walked in the front door, she was restrained and involuntarily committed,” they say.

Despite Amanda Bynes’ anger over being committed, others believe Lufti–in conjunction with her parents–did the right thing.

Sources tell TMZ that Amanda Bynes feels ‘utterly betrayed’ and that her relationship with her parents is ‘destroyed forever.’

Fox News reports that upon her arrival at LAX, Amanda Bynes told photographers that she wanted to be “like Marilyn Monroe” and that she couldn’t wait for her father to be “dead in his grave.”

RadarOnline says Bynes is stuck in the mental health facility in Pasadena, as her initial hold has been extended. In fact, a source tells them she could now be there for as long as two weeks.

“Amanda’s parents are hopeful that she will remain at Las Encinas for the next fourteen days,” the source said. “She would continue to pose a significant danger to herself and others if released.”

In the meantime Amanda Bynes’ parents are once again getting the necessary legal paperwork prepared to petition for conservatorship of their daughter. For the moment, however, they are simply happy she is safe.

  • Amanda Bynes’ Psych Hold Extended, Parents Are ‘Happy She Is Safe’

Amanda Bynes’ involuntary psychiatric hold has been extended another two weeks.

People magazine reports that her parents, Lynn and Rick Bynes, are just incredibly grateful that their daughter is safe at a Los Angeles treatment facility.

“They’re happy she’s safe and that Amanda is finally getting some help,” a source told People.

The 28-year-old actress was taken to the treatment facility Friday after a ruse was concocted by her parents to get help for their daughter. Bynes thought she was heading to meet her parents and their attorney after landing in LA from New York. Instead, her parents whisked her to the hospital, where she remains.

The scheme to get Bynes’ help was an orchestrated intervention, which included Sam Lufti, a former Britney Spears confidante, who helped the family get her home, and her parents’ attorney, Tamar Arminak.

“It was touch and go whether the plan would work,” said the source, who added that currently Bynes “is erratic and disconnected from reality.”

Last week, Bynes went on a spree of erratic behavior, which included stealing a $200 purse from Barneys Department Store. She also took to her Twitter account to rant on a variety of topics, including an accusation that her father had sexually, verbally and physically abused her as a child.

She later deleted the Tweets about sexual abuse and blamed “the microchip in [her] brain.”

Apparently, she often targets her father when she recedes into her illness.

“When she is in one of these states, her anger and frustration is directed towards her father,” the source told People.

Lynn Bynes, who generally keeps quiet about her daughter’s troubles, issued a statement through Arminak, refuting the claims and citing her daughter’s “mental state” for the accusations that “have no basis in reality.”

Bynes’s siblings, Jillian O’Keefe and Tommy Bynes, also released a statement defending their parents.

“We are disturbed beyond words that Amanda would come up with such a fabrication as a way to avoid getting much needed help or treatment,” they said.

“We have the most wonderful parents who have ever lived [and] are pained by [Amanda’s] behavior. … We absolutely give our full unconditional love and support to our wonderful parents.”

  • Lynne Spears Is Not An Anti-Semite

Lynne Spears Is Not An Anti-Semite

Lynne Spears, Britney’s mom, has been locked in a legal battle with her daughter’s former business manager, Sam Lufti, since 2009 after he filed a lawsuit against the family for defamation and breach of contract.

The suit also alleges that the Spears family is guilty of “libel, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress” after several disagreements about the way he was handling Britney’s career. Both parties claim wrongdoing by the other; Lufti says that Jamie Spears forced his way into his home in 2008–a year after he became Britney’s manager–and punched him in the chest over a misunderstanding, and a year later Spears obtained a restraining order against Lufti after saying he was harassing the family.

But the real damage came with Lynne Spears’ memoir, “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Fortune in a Tabloid World”. In it, she spoke candidly about Lufti’s affiliation with the family and claimed he held control over her daughter, which Lufti says damaged his reputation. He filed the lawsuit soon after.

“Since the publication of the book, Lutfi has been subjected to unfathomable amounts of ridicule and scorn,” and has received “numerous death threats from overzealous fans,” the lawsuit reads, also stating that Lutfi can “no longer find work as a counselor of at-risk teens.”

Apparently, Spears also referred to Lufti as a “Svengali”, a term used to describe someone who controls another using deceit. It has a place in the Christian world, as well, and refers to the “Wandering Jew” character in folklore. Now, Spears is afraid Lufti will try and paint her as an anti-Semite during the trial and has obtained a court-order to stop him from calling in an expert witness to testify to that fact.

A jury is being selected for the case now, but it seems to be one that won’t be closed easily.
