  • Carol Burnett Criticizes Modern Sitcoms, Receives SAG Lifetime Achievement Award

Comedienne and TV personality Carol Burnett shared her thoughts on the present state of comedy as she sat for an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Burnett, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday evening, could not help but notice how much modern comedy has changed. She said much of today’s sitcom’s “sound like they’ve been written by teenage boys in a locker room.”

While there is nothing wrong with sitcoms being edgy, she admitted she misses the old classic way of delivering jokes.

“I am kind of bored of producers saying, ‘It’s got to be edgy.’ Edgy is fine — I’m not a prude by any stretch of the imagination — but what’s wrong with a good ol’ belly laugh? I miss that,” Burnett shared.

Producers wanted sitcoms to be fast and Carol Burnett thinks because of this trend, “some of the writing isn’t good anymore.”

“A lot of comedy today is so fast — it’s like: “Boom! Boom! Boom!” — because they think people can’t pay enough attention,” observed the 82-year-old comedienne.

Burnett faced a lot of discouragement before she became a comedy icon just because she was a woman. In her acceptance speech at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, she shared the discrimination she experienced as a woman trying to make a name in the comedy department.

She hosted the comedy variety series The Carol Burnett Show but revealed the network wanted something different. Carol Burnett was told to do a half-hour sitcom called Here Comes Agnes but she refused. She revealed that she was constantly told by the network that comedy variety was not for girls. “They said, ‘Carol, no, no, no no, look. All the comedy variety shows are hosted by men,” Burnett recalled.

Fortunately, Carol Burnett did not give up. The Carol Burnett Show won 25 Emmy Awards during its 11-year run.

  • Ariel Winter Says There’s A Reason She Didn’t Hide Her Scars At SAG Awards

Ariel Winter took to social media this week to let her fans know there’s nothing wrong with having scars…or showing them to the world.

When the actress chose to wear a black gown to the SAG Awards over the weekend, she probably never imagined it would cause so much controversy on the Web. Rather than being criticized for showing off cleavage–like Susan Sarandon–the young Modern Family star had a lot of fans asking why she would wear something low cut in the back and on the sides, which showed off the scars she carries from having a breast reduction.

“Guys there is a reason I didn’t make an effort to cover up my scars! They are part of me and I’m not ashamed of them at all,” Winter wrote in Twitter.

Ariel recently chose to undergo the surgery because, she says, the size of her chest was not only uncomfortable physically, it was also hard on her self-esteem.

“Being a 5-foot tall girl and having extremely large breasts is really ostracizing and excruciatingly painful. The Internet bullies are awful. I could post a photo where I feel good, and 500 people will comment about how fat I am and that I am disgusting,” Winter said in an interview with Glamour last year.

Winter went from a 32F to a 34D as a result of the surgery, and she says that even though the bullying was part of her decision to make the change, she also did it for herself.

“I mainly did it for myself. Yes, I had many comments, and it bothered me that that was kind of what I was known for. And that was kind of what people were commenting on my photos. That bothered me, but it wasn’t the main reason I did it,” Ariel Winter said.

  • Nicole Kidman May Have Worn The Ugliest Dress At The 2016 SAG Awards

Nicole Kidman is arguably one of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood, but that hasn’t made her exempt from being one of this year’s ‘Worst Dressed’ at the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The 48-year-old Australian beauty appeared on the red carpet with husband Keith Urban wearing a unique tiered dress by Gucci. The frilly gown featured glittery layers of pinks and purples that cascaded and evoked a sort of relaxed, Bohemian vibe. Fashion critics were divided on her dress choice, with some saying that the pastel color scheme complements Kidman’s complexion beautifully, while others say that the design was too “busy” and that she over-accessorized.

Another A-list actress that made it to the list was Julianne Moore, who donned a bright green sequin dress by Givenchy. While the color enhanced her fair complexion and red locks, the fit of the dress did nothing for her figure.

Actress – and SAG winner – Brie Larson also made an interesting choice for the red carpet, earning her a spot on the Worst Dressed list. The Room star wore a baby blue Grecian-inspired dress from the latest Atelier Versace collection. The gown featured an array of unconventional twists and knots, as well as a bizarre neckline and bright orange strap at the back that resembled a duffel bag strap. Nevertheless, the confusing design of the dress did not prevent people from admiring Larson’s gorgeous figure.

Over the years, Nicole Kidman has made fashion hits and misses in awards shows. But despite another lackluster showing in this year’s SAG Awards – in which she was nominated for her performance in the critically bashed TV film, Grace of Monaco – the actress looked happy and glowing at the event.

Keith Urban Compliments Wife Nicole Kidman on the Red Carpet of the 2016 SAG Awards

Perhaps, it’s because her husband, rock singer Keith Urban showered her with affection the entire night. When asked by an E! News correspondent Giuliana Rancic who he would choose among Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, and Nicole Kidman, Urban gave the right answer.

“You can’t choose me,” a visibly blushing Nicole Kidman said. “It’s Marilyn or Grace.”

  • Ariel Winter Is More Glamorous Than Ever At 2016 SAG Awards

Ariel Winter has come a long way since her early days as the geeky 13-year-old Alex Dunphy on the hit ABC sitcom, Modern Family. She certainly has gone through a lot and grown up into a beautiful and elegant young woman.

The actress, who turned 18 on Thursday, turned up at this year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards in a classy and grown-up ensemble. She wore a strapless black dress by Romona Keveza, which featured a mermaid silhouette and an intricate embroidered pattern. The gown showcased both her ample cleavage and her entire back.

For accessories, Ariel Winter chose a pair of sun-inspired diamond earrings, light makeup, and jet black hair, which she parted to the side.

In a brief interview with E!’s Brad Goreski on the red carpet of the SAG Awards, Ariel Winter shared details about her epic Moroccan-themed birthday party.

“We had Aladdin guys and belly dancers and we had a lot of really cool things,” she revealed.

The party reportedly fetched over 300 guests, including Winter’s friends and family members. “I’m Greek, so you gotta factor in family members, how many cousins I have, and stuff like that!”

Co-cast member Sofia Vergara posted a photo on Instagram showing Ariel Winter blowing out her birthday candles.

    Happy bday @arielwinter ??????

She also spoke with the people at TNT to talk about growing up with the cast and crew of Modern Family and her plans for the future. In the interview, she revealed that she is currently applying to colleges and hopes to become a social justice lawyer someday.

“I’ve been through the court system many times with many lawyers, and I just think that with my personal experience, I would have something good to give,” she said.

Ariel Winter Dishes on her Plans for the Future

Last year, Ariel Winter underwent breast reduction surgery to decrease her cup size fro, a 32F to a 34D. After the procedure, she has been vocal about how happy she is with the results, and says that she is now “comfortable” in her own skin.

  • Eva Amurri and Mom Susan Sarandon Bare Cleavage and Midriffs at SAG Awards

Eva Amurri and Mom Susan Sarandon Bare Cleavage and Midriffs at SAG Awards

Eva Amurri and Susan Sarandon likely had people saying, “Like mother, like daughter,” at the SAG Awards on Saturday evening. Both ladies showed off ample cleavage and nicely toned midriffs as they walked the red carpet.

Eva Amurri, 30, wore an Yves Klein dress by Gabriela Cadena in bright blue. It featured wraparound detailing at the bust line and triangle-shaped cutouts throughout her midriff. The dress boasted a thigh-high slit that showed off not only lean, sexy legs, but also some fabulous Casadei heels.

Mom Susan Sarandon–who is still gorgeous and super sexy at 69–chose a Max Mara ensemble consisting of a black bralette topped by a white tuxedo blazer and matching slacks. She accessorized her look with a nude clutch, nude peep-toe shoes, and lots of gold rings. Her blazer was cut low enough to allow her sexy midriff to peek through.

Fans no doubt loved seeing Eva Amurri attending the SAG Awards with her mother this weekend. In addition to allowing them a glimpse at the gorgeous mother-daughter duo, it likely did their hearts good to see Amurri having fun.

It was just this past August that Eva Amurri suffered a miscarriage. She was pregnant with her and hubby Kyle Martino’s second child.

  • Alicia Vikander Wins Best Supporting Actress at SAG Awards, Beats Out Kate Winslet, Rachel McAdams, and More

Alicia Vikander won the SAG Award for Best Supporting Artist at Saturday night’s SAG Awards, beating out Kate Winslet, Rachel McAdams, Rooney Mara, and Helen Mirren for the win.

Nominated for her role in The Danish Girl, Alicia Vikander is favored to win in the same category at the Academy Awards.

The first-time SAG Awards winner, Alicia Vikander was emotional as she gave her acceptance speech.

“Honestly, this is the highest honor,” she said. “Just to be invited to join this stage. Thank you.”

The actress recalled watching her mother–who is also an actress–when she was just a little girl.

“I loved to watch her rehearse and I love to watch her perform,” she said. “I saw a sudden thrill. I saw an excitement of a collaboration and exchange and camaraderie between actors by fellow actors.”

Alicia Vikander, who appeared in her first professional role in her native Sweden back in 2008, also recognized her costar in The Danish Girl, Eddie Redmayne.

“Eddie, you’re here tonight. I want to thank you and everyone in this amazing cast that I was on this journey with,” she said.

In addition to her role in The Danish Girl, Alicia Vikander is noted for her roles in Ex Machina, A Royal Affair, Ana Karenina, and more.

Did you catch the SAG Awards on Saturday evening? Are you among those thrilled for Alicia Vikander’s first SAG Awards win?

  • Kate Mara, Sister Rooney Mara Stun in Cleavage-Baring Gowns at SAG Awards

Kate Mara and sister Rooney Mara were quite a pair at the SAG Awards on Saturday. Noticed not solely for their acting skills, the sisters both wore cleavage-baring Valentino gowns that caught the eyes and cameras of many in attendance.

Lest you think Rooney and Kate Mara wore matching gowns, that is definitely not the case. Choosing the same designer likely proves the depth of their sisterhood.

Kate Mara wore a beige halter with revealing side cutouts, while Rooney chose a v-neck pleated gown with matching cape. It was by far the less attractive of the two gowns–lending to the appearance that Rooney Mara was about to take off and fly. When she omitted the cape, however, there was some sex appeal.

“I don’t know if this is sexy by most people’s standards,” Rooney said, “but for me it’s more revealing than normal.”

Yes, Rooney and Kate Mara both stunned in their cleavage-baring gowns, but for completely different reasons. While Kate Mara’s look was sexy and inviting, Rooney’s made those nearby do a double-take, but for all the wrong reasons.

An aside: While at the SAG Awards, Rooney and Kate Mara let insiders know that most people have long been pronouncing their last name incorrectly. While most say “Mah-ra,” it is in fact “May-ra” instead.

Neith Rooney nor Kate Mara were nominated for a SAG Award, but Rooney received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Carol.

  • Nicole Kidman On Her Second London Theatre Run And Christmas Without Her Father

Nicole Kidman has recently wrapped her second run on London stages and is riding high in her career right now.

The love that Nicole Kidman has for the stage is apparent. In a recent interview, she expanded on how doing a play is so different than a movie.

Now that the play is over, Nicole Kidman said, “It feels sad.”

She added, “The beauty of theatre is that it never comes again. That’s it, done, it’s all just memory then. That’s what makes it spectacular. I loved doing it every night. I had forgotten that direct connection to the audience.”

She added, “And the immediacy — I haven’t had that in so long. You feel the energy of the audience. Even going and signing [autographs] at the stage door was a powerful thing for me.”

That’s not the only reason Nicole Kidman is riding high.

In addition to her numerous upcoming films, nominations have just been announced for the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and Nicole Kidman made a surprising appearance on the list for Lead Actress in a TV Movie for her starring role in the widely panned Grace of Monaco.

Also, Christmas is coming! And Nicole Kidman is looking foward to a well-deserved break with her husband, Keith Urban, her girls and her family.

Nicole Kidman, however, must endure the second Christmas without her beloved father who died of a heart attack two years ago.

She said, “We just hang out, eat, play. My sister has six children and they all come over, and my mum.”

She added, “We have big family Christmases that are never the same because you don’t have the patriarch of the family [my father] there any more. But it is what it is, isn’t it? It takes on a whole different meaning.”

What do you think of Nicole Kidman’s stellar life right now?

  • Carol Burnett Praised By Amy Poehler Ahead Of SAG Award Announcement

Carol Burnett will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award at January’s SAG Awards, and the comedian is earning praise from those who grew up watching her show and learning from her. Amy Poehler was asked to say a few words about Burnett on a new DVD that contains long-lost episodes of the Carol Burnett Show from the first five seasons, and she said that one of the things that drew her to the charismatic redhead is that she’s so versatile.

“We all hail Carol as the queen for a lot of reasons. One is because we grew up watching her, and we will always have those memories of discovering comedy with her and through her. And the other is that she’s so versatile,” Poehler said.

Carol currently has a full plate, as she’s working on her fourth book and is developing a project with CBS Films called Sunrise In Memphis. With her hit show being called a “masterpiece” by SAG president Ken Howard, it’s likely Burnett will have another couple of successes on her hands. She’s won dozens of awards over the years for her contributions to entertainment and will now join fellow trailblazing female actresses Rita Moreno, Mary Tyler Moore, and Debbie Reynolds as a recipient of the highly coveted SAG award.

“Carol Burnett is a creative dynamo and a comedic genius. She embodies the generosity and courage that the greatest actors use in creating enduring and memorable characters. From her heartbreakingly hilarious Starlet O’Hara to the adorably inept Eunice and alarmingly funny Miss Hannigan, Carol has delighted and inspired millions of viewers and thousands of comedic actors. She took risks as a performer and through her courage, encouraged fellow actors to try new things and always, always reach for the sky. Her innate love of actors led to the creation of an ensemble cast that made The Carol Burnett Show a masterpiece of variety programming,” Ken Howard said.

  • Maria Menounos Slammed For “Terrible” SAG Performance

Maria Menounos has quite a bit of experience in the world of television hosting and interviewing, but that doesn’t mean she always wins viewers over. In fact, she garnered a whole lot of hate on Twitter Sunday night when she took over red carpet duties from Giuliana Rancic at the SAG Awards, giving what some are calling a “terrible” and cringe-worthy performance.

Menounos has retweeted a few posts from fans (and even one noted non-fan) who lent her support after the backlash began, but other than that she hasn’t commented on the incident. According to several viewers, her interviewing skills were lacking and included awkward pauses and too many questions that felt rushed.

One viewer said she was physically “cringing” while watching the red carpet events and several others pleaded with E! to keep Maria Menounos away from interviews.

    maria menounos twitter

Maria Menounos retweeted a few comments, but steered clear of the ugly ones:

Maria Menounos may have had a hater express themselves violently last year when someone threw a tire iron at her vehicle as she was leaving an airport. The iron smashed through the back window of her car, and while no one was injured, Menounos said her makeup artist was in the backseat covered in glass. An investigation was opened, but it’s unclear whether anyone was charged.

“We were merging onto the expressway and all of a sudden we heard an explosion. I thought we were being shot at so I told everyone, ‘We’re being shot at! Put your heads down!’ And everyone put their heads down. We waited a second and we didn’t hear another shot, so I lifted my head up and turned around, and the whole back window was shattered and gone, not even a stitch of glass was left,” Maria Menounos said.

  • Maria Menounos Gets Beat Up on Twitter As Fans Clamor for Giuliana Rancic During SAG Red Carpet Coverage

Maria Menounos took a beating on Twitter Sunday as she covered the arrival of A-list celebrities during E!’s Live From the Red Carpet coverage of the 2015 SAG Awards.

The throng of haters included fans of Giuliana Rancic, who begged for the return of their fav red carpet commentator, unaware that she was still on vacation.

Maria Menounos, who recently made a move from hosting Extra to E!, where she will have her own series, Untold with Maria Menounos. She also will be a regular commentator for red carpet events, retain a permanent position on their roundtable series Live From E! and participate in upcoming E! specials.

Unfortunately, it looks like viewers aren’t all that thrilled with E!‘s decision to hire Maria Menounos.

As for Giuliana Rancic, she tweeted on Sunday that she was running errands, which led to the onslaught of hate-tweets targeting Maria Menounos.

Giuliana Rancic later thanked her fans for clamoring for her during the telecast.

What do you think? Was she really that bad?

  • Sarah Paulson Engages In Butt-Grabbing At SAG Awards

Sarah Paulson can’t get over Amanda Peet’s behind. The close friends were joined by Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal as they walked down the red carpet on Sunday to attend the Screen Actors Guild Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Paulson was wearing a black and white Armani dress while Peet glammed up with a J. Mendel dress with a couture clutch by Judith Leiber. The American Horror Story star got too close to Peet, as evidenced by a post on Vine. The video was captured during E!’s live red carpet telecast showing Paulson grazing her hand right along the butt area. Earlier that day, Paulson also showed her love for Peet by tweeting her praises on Peet’s performance on her new HBO show.

“If you aren’t watching Togetherness you truly aren’t doing what you should be doing,” Paulson tweeted. Paulson also gushed about her friend’s incredible body during an interview. “She looks really good,” she praised. “And if you don’t tune in, you’re not going to see the world’s greatest tits.”

She continued to describe Peet’s breasts based on what she saw on Togetherness: “They’re really good tits. The nipples are not huge, which I think is great… great abs, and anyone who can wear tight white jeans on television is winning. The world should get ready!”

Paulson will return to television with American Horror Story’s fifth season after the success of Freakshow. While details are still under wraps, there have been rumors that the anthology series will reach a place where no man has ever gone before: outer space. The president of FX Network teased that the upcoming season will be set on present day, exciting fans of the hit show even further. Fans can expect to hear more about the latest season around March.

  • Sarah Hyland Commits Red Carpet Faux Pas

Sarah Hyland committed what some of Hollywood’s elite would consider to be a terrible faux pas–right on the red carpet at the SAG Awards on Sunday. What did the Modern Family star do that made the media take notice?

    Sarah Hyland ate pizza.

Yes, you read that correctly. She didn’t experience a nip slip or show off too much leg. She didn’t slip with the F-word or mangle her answer when interviewed by the entertainment publications.

Sarah Hyland ate pizza. It was cheese pizza, actually, and she chowed down like she loved it–right there on that red carpet. She actually was quite dazzling as she indulged, too. Wearing a black, pink, and beige sparkling gown with a V-neck that plunged way down to there (where?), Hyland was the epitome of beauty, save for the cheese and sauce that graced her lips.

Sarah Hyland attended the SAG Awards with her Modern Family cast mates. The group was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. They didn’t win– losing out instead to the cast of Orange is The New Black.

Kudos to Sarah Hyland for enjoying that slice of pizza–and more so for not caring what anyone thought as they saw the young actress thoroughly enjoying her treat on the red carpet. Too bad she couldn’t have convinced some of those super-skinny types to enjoy a slice as well.

  • Sofia Vergara Gushes Over Fiancé Joe Manganiello and Her ‘Bling-Bling’ on the SAG Red Carpet

Sofia Vergara couldn’t help but gush about her fiancé Joe Manganiello and the beautiful engagement ring he offered to his love during a red carpet interview at Sunday’s SAG Awards. However, it was hard for viewers to focus on her words with the eye candy temptations the twosome brought to the red carpet.

Sofia Vergara conceded that the ring was spectacular but said she would have said yes to Joe Manganiello’s proposal ring or no ring.

“I opened it up and I checked it to see,” she joked about receiving the ring. “He’s so handsome that it would have been okay, you know? I would have said, ‘Okay, yeah.’”

Sofia Vergara told Access Hollywood that they are deep in preparations for their wedding even though their busy schedules keep getting in the way.

“We’re trying to figure it out because… he’s shooting and promoting Magic Mike this summer and I’m promoting my movie with Reese Witherspoon and so we’re kinda busy, but we’re trying to do it maybe [in the] fall,” she said. “Summer is going to be too crazy.”

The guest list alone has been tough to work out.

“It’s big. We started, like, ‘It’s only 20.’ Yeah right! It’s like now there’s like pages and pages,” she said.

Sofia Vergara continued with her gushing over Joe, who was not by her side during the interview. She had much to say about all the distractions that greeted her when she visited her hunky fiancé on the set of Magic Mike.

“I went to see the filming and it was like really crazy,” she said. “I was very distracted. It was not only him, it was Channing Tatum, it was Kevin Nash. I mean, there [were] a lot people doing it, so I was like in a candy store.”

Sofia Vergara‘s film with Reese Witherspoon, Hot Pursuit, is set to be released on May 8.

  • Sarah Hyland Busted Doing the Unthinkable — Munching on Pizza on the SAG Red Carpet

Sarah Hyland was caught doing what most actresses only long to do — she grabbed a piece of pizza and she chowed down on it while on the red carpet at Sunday’s 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles.

Yes, that’s right, she did the unthinkable.

And by the way, Sarah Hyland looked fabulous as she was caught in the act in a plunging, beaded beige, pink and black gown.

LA Times writer Yvonne Villarreal uploaded a pic of the 24-year-old actress’ unthinkable action on social media, which made women across the country commend her courageous move.

Sarah Hyland was at the awards ceremony with her fellow Modern Family cast mates, who were nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. Unfortunately, they lost out to the cast of Netflix’s Orange is The New Black.

It also wasn’t the best of nights for the Modern Family stars Ty Burrell (who won last year), Eric Stonestreet and Julie Bowen, who were nominated for Outstanding Performances by a Male and Female actor respectively. None of them walked home with the coveted prize this year.

On the other hand, Modern Family tied with Birdman for most nominations at this year’s SAG Awards.

  • Jennifer Aniston Loses At Last Chance For An Award This Year, But Looked Gorgeous In Gold

While Jennifer Aniston was snubbed by the Oscars, all eyes were on her as she walked down the red carpet at the Screen Actors’ Guild Awards on Sunday night. Nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor, Aniston made a huge entrance with soon-to-be-husband Justin Theroux by her side.

The 45-year-old actress wore a vintage Galliano long gown that’s made from embroidered gold material. In an interview with People Magazine, Jen revealed how she “just kind of dropped dead for it.” Her longtime stylist Chris McMillian described the stunning gown as golden like Jennifer. “It was sexy… She looks California, she looks gorgeous, she looks pretty,” McMillian added. Aniston got cheers from the crowd for her revealing plunging dress that’s accentuated by a black border at the bottom. The former Friends star also wore a body chain, the same one that she wore at the Critics’ Choice Award.

When it was time for the interview with E!, Aniston refused to show her nails for the ManiCam. She shot down host Maria Menounos’ invitation with a polite, “No, thank you,” and played cool about it. Aniston laughed at the invitation and made a whiplash motion as she laughed along. Jennifer Aniston wasn’t the only one who refused to do the ManiCam, fellow nominees Julianne Moore and Reese Witherspoon rejected Menounos during the interview.

In the end, it was Moore who went home with the SAG trophy for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor for her role in Still Alice. For Aniston, it was enough that her talent was recognized. Critics praised her transformative role in Cake where she played Claire, a woman who’s being plagued by her inner demons. Aniston prepared for the role by stopping her workout routine, which caused her anxiety and sleeplessness. While the SAG awards was her last chance to bring home a trophy, Aniston seemed relaxed and calm even after the lost.

  • Lupita Nyong’o Addresses Rumored Romance With Jared Leto

Lupita Nyong’o shined in the red carpet as well as onstage during the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards. She joined Jared Leto as they took to the stage to present the award for Outstanding Male Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries. However, their seemingly flirtatious nature is what’s been making headlines right now. Leto was seen staring intently at the Yale-educated actress as she read the nominees, only looking away to read his part from the teleprompter. The rumored couple announced the winner, Mark Ruffalo, who couldn’t be there during the ceremony. After delivering the spiel about accepting the award on Ruffalo’s behalf, Leto then pulled Nyong’o closer to him.

The 12 Years a Slave star was clearly flustered, adding more fuel to the rumors that Jared Leto and Lupita Nyong’o are an item. However, Nyong’o addressed the rumors during an appearance on Ellen. “Ah, but I thought Miley Cyrus broke us up,” Nyong’o quipped, referring to the rumors that Leto was dating the “Wrecking Ball” singer. “That was the last thing I heard.”

“It’s crazy, cause when I read these rumors, they’re so detailed that even I start to question whether they’re true or not. I know I’ve believed them in the past and now I guess I can’t believe anything,” Lupita Nyong’o added.

The rumors began when Leto revealed being infatuated with Nyong’o during the 2014 Independent Spirit Awards. “In case this is the last time I get to thank anyone, I wrote down a couple of names,” Leto said before thanking Wayne Gretzky and the inventor of the zipper among others. The actor then added, “To all the women I have slept with and those who think they’ve slept with me. And [to] my future ex-wife Lupita!” The stars were then seen spending time with each other, which fueled the speculation that the two are dating.

  • Debbie Reynolds: Daughter Carrie Fisher to Present Her SAG Lifetime Achievement Award

Debbie Reynolds: Daughter Carrie Fisher to Present Her SAG Lifetime Achievement Award

Debbie Reynolds will be honored later this month with the Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award. She began her Hollywood career back in the 1950s and has appeared in more than 50 films since then. Some of her classics include Singin’ in the Rain, Tammy, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, and How the West Was Won. Reynolds’ daughter Carrie Fisher will present her with the prestigious award.

Fisher, of course, is best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars series of films. She penned a book several years back that many perceived as a diary of sorts, highlighting the tumultuous mother-daughter relationship she and Debbie Reynolds endured. Carrie Fisher insisted, however, that Postcards from the Edge, which later became a film starring Meryl Streep, wasn’t meant to depict the two.

“The book has nothing to do with my mother and I. It mostly followed stories of drug addiction told by different people, so the movie of it had to completely change. I had to look for things in my life that would make good dramatic scenes, good performance pieces and embellish on that,” she said in 2012.

The SAG Lifetime Achievement Award celebrates Debbie Reynolds’ extensive body of work and humanitarian efforts. Previous recipients include Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, Ernest Borgnine, Betty White, and James Earl Jones.

Fans can tune in on Sunday, January 25th at 8:00 PM on both TNT and TBS. Congratulations to Debbie Reynolds for this prestigious award.

  • Benedict Cumberbatch: Parents as Co-Workers

Benedict Cumberbatch has a unique role in the BBC’s hit TV show Sherlock. In addition to his take on the savvy sleuth, his actual parents play his character’s parents on the show. And while that may sound a bit difficult to most, it’s not the first time Cumberbatch has engaged in this type of scenario with his mother and father. Timothy Carlton and Wanda Ventham not only brought Benedict into the world and raised him, they also accompany him on set every day.

“They’re trained actors with a CV [editor’s note: resume] and were available,” Benedict said at the Television Critics Association Winter Tour 2014, in Pasadena on Monday. “They’ve played my parents in the background in something before…”

“[Working with them on ‘Sherlock’] was wonderful,” he added. “It was the first day on set and everyone was nervous, they were really nervous, but I did — at some point — sort of try to manage their nerves as well as mine and it was a glorious thing. … It was a joy. I mean, it’s going to be something… hopefully I’ll be showing my grandchildren. It’s a real special thing, and I’ve got the utmost respect for their craft.”

That definitely is quite a legacy to pass from generation to generation, and not many people–even award-winning actors–can say they have such a legacy to pass on. Life has been very exciting for Benedict Cumberbatch lately. Currently starring in 12 Years A Slave–which was a big name at this past weekend’s SAG Awards–he also plays the voice of Smaug in The Hobbit Trilogy.

Yahoo! TV even celebrated the actor on January 20th with Benedict Cumberbatch Day, making previous season’s episodes of the show, as well as the actor’s other works, available at low or no cost to viewers.

Cumberbatch chatted recently with Robert Downey, Jr., who played Sherlock Holmes on the big screen. He also dished about that conversation at the Television Critics Association Winter Tour.

“I sat down on the sofa with Robert Downey, Jr. last night and we had our first conversation and shared notes on playing Sherlock Holmes,” he said. “This is the most dramatized fictional character of all time, so there’s a lot to talk about.”

He also shared that Jonny Lee Miller, known for portraying Sherlock Holmes in the U.S. TV series, CBS’s Elementary, is another friend and confidante. Miller and Cumberbatch also starred together in a London stage production of Frankenstein.

“We’re all fans of one another. We’re all supportive… We’re really good friends and I can safely say that Robert’s in the same camp now after last night. We had a wonderful chat,” he said.

Probably the most intriguing question Benedict Cumberbatch was asked as part of the question and answer session at this event was about Sherlock rather than about him. Will there be a fourth season?

“I’m doing it. I’ve commissioned it,” Benedict said.

“Yes, it will continue until Benedict gets too famous,” his producer added.

His parents are no doubt thrilled with this news, too, as they ride their famous son’s coattails all the way to the bank. (And who can blame them?)

  • Brad Pitt Debuts New Hairstyle At Award Shows Over The Weekend

Some fans may have wondered what was going on when Brad Pitt debuted his new hairstyle over the weekend. He showed up to the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday, and then at the Producers Guild Awards on Sunday, with a totally new hairstyle.

The actor who has been known for his long hair throughout his cinematic career, and in his recent film, showed up with it all chopped off, and the sides of his head completely shaved.

He cleared up any confusion with people by stating that it was simply for a part, and not his choice.

The military-inspired look is in fact for his upcoming role in the WWII film Fury, in which he stars opposite Shia LaBeouf and others. The film has recently been shooting in the UK.

Brad Pitt has been seen at each of the awards shows, and will continue to be seen during awards season due to his work in the film 12 Years A Slave.

After already winning best picture-drama at the Golden Globes, 12 Years A Slave has some momentum as the race to the Oscars continues.

It is an important film for people to see, and one that Brad Pitt was excited to be a part of, and be able to share with the world. It tells the story of Solomon Northup, a free man who was taken from the north and forced into slavery for 12 years.

Lupita Nyong’o also won the beset supporting actress award again last night for her role in the film as Patsey, and Brad Pitt has been gushing over the young actress, saying that audiences can expect great things from her.

Brad Pitt is also happy about the positive recognition that the film is getting with its several nominations. After the Screen Actors Guild Awards, he said “It’s great. It also ensures that more people are going to see it. And in my mind this is a film that only comes along once in a decade and everyone should see this. It’s that good. It’s moving, it’s inspirational. It’s why I wanted to go into film in the first place.”

Although Brad Pitt’s part was perhaps too small to be recognized, and especially among all of the tough competition this year, he played an important role in the film, and was also one of the producers, helping to get the film made.

In his second awards show of the weekend, his film shared the award for best picture with Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity.

Brad Pitt and his new hairdo can be seen in Fury, which is set to be released on November 14, 2014.

  • Giuliana Rancic Stuns in Purple Gown at SAG Awards

Giuliana Rancic wowed onlookers as she worked the red carpet at the 20th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday night. Her purple satin gown, accessorized simply with a black belt and understated earrings, drew a lot of favorable attention.

As co-host of E! Network’s flagship entertainment industry news show, Rancic is currently one of the best known celebrity hosts. Rancic also co-hosts E!’s Fashion Police, along with Joan Rivers, Kelly Osbourne, and George Kotsiopoulos.

The Fashion Police quartet gets together after big Hollywood events to critique celebrity fashions. As a presumed expert on the subject, it’s no surprise that Rancic consistently impresses at awards ceremonies and similar events.

According to Rancic, her gown was made by Lebanese designer Basil Soda. The color of the gown drew references to color authority Pantone’s Color of the Year “Radiant Orchid.”

Just last week, Rancic was on another red carpet, this one at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony.

Rancic and her husband Bill star in their own reality show Giuliana and Bill in which they’ve chronicled Rancic’s fight against breast cancer and their struggles with infertility. The series premiered in August 2009 and wrapped its sixth season this year. It moved from Style Network to E! in October following NBC Universal’s decision to launch its new cable network Esquire on Style.
