  • Emma Watson: Why Rupert Grint Was Terrified to Kiss Her

Emma Watson is a beautiful actress. Most men would love to kiss the Harry Potter star. Not so Rupert Grint, however. Known for his role as red-headed wizard Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series of films, Grint learned he had to kiss Emma Watson and stewed over it for quite some time.

“I never look back at that scene,” Grint said in an interview with People magazine on Friday at Universal Orlando’s “Celebration of Harry Potter” event. “I’ve known Emma since she was literally 9 years old and we had this very brother-sister relationship. And it just felt very surreal. I have a memory of her face getting closer and closer. Like, ‘Oh my God.’ I can’t really remember anything apart from that.”

Emma Watson and Rupert Grint didn’t practice their kissing scene either.

“One take was enough. It was such a huge moment and there was so much expectation. Quite a lot of pressure actually,” Grint said.

Emma Watson has spoken out in the past about her kissing scene with Rupert Grint, as well as about kissing Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter himself.

“Rupert was the weirdest. Dan [Radcliffe] wasn’t so bad,” she said. “I just had to remind myself, ‘I am an actress. I am Hermione. This is a role.’ But it was really hard. We just have so much history together. They are like my brothers.”

“Dan and I could sort of have a laugh about it. Whereas Rupert’s a bit more quiet so I didn’t really know what he was thinking which made me a bit more nervous,” she added.

If you don’t recall Emma Watson and Rupert Grint’s iconic kiss as Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, you can check it out below.

Grint no doubt realizes there are countless men who would love to have traded places with him, for just one tender little kiss from Emma Watson.

  • Rupert Grint: So Well Paid, It Was “Kind Of Ridiculous”

Harry Potter changed the lives of the children who starred in the film series, and star Rupert Grint revealed how in a recent interview. Grint played the character of Ron Weasley, one of the title character’s best friends in the movie series that spanned more than 10 years.

Grint claimed that the amount he and his co-stars were paid was “kind of ridiculous” and that to this day he is not exactly sure how much it was. “I’ve always known it was kinda ‘there,’ and I’ve got quite an active involvement in stuff like that now, but I don’t really know the exact figures. And I’ve never really wanted to. I’m quite a laid-back person and not overly ambitious, really,” he said.

The 26-year-old actor began starring in the films when he was 11 and shot the last installment, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, when he was 22 years old. As a result, his formative years were spent revolving around making the films. This, plus the fact that Grint had made a lot of money, reportedly affected the way he built relationships.

“It took me a while to figure out whether someone was genuine or they had ulterior motives,” Grint said. “I’ve had a few bad experiences and it was tricky because I left school at quite a pivotal time, in year seven, when you’re just making friends and stuff. So whenever I came back, bonds I had made before had all got a little bit weird. I did lose a few friends but on the whole it’s all been pretty good.”

According to The Mirror, Grint is looking forward to his stint in the Broadway play It’s Only A Play, starring alongside Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane. “During the first few days in rehearsals I was really intimidated because it’s quite a group of people. But there are no big egos. Being on stage is a real team thing, and everyone has been great, really cool. I just feel really lucky to be a part of it,” he said.

  • Rupert Grint Scared Away From Drugs by Shia LaBeouf

One would think that filming 7 (officially 8) Harry Potter movies would make Rupert Grint, best known as Ron Weasley, a more open-minded individual, receptive to fantastical ideas and alternate realities. While that may be true, apparently Grint is not receptive to those alternative realities created by taking LSD, or acid.

While filming The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman, an upcoming film in which Grint portrays an aspiring porn star, Grint witnessed Shia LaBeouf dropping LSD in order to continue his practice of method acting. Apparently the scene was so scary that Grint has decided he will not touch any drugs in the near future: “He smashed the place up, got naked and kept seeing this owl. If anything will make you not do drugs, it’s watching that,” stated Grint.

Grint’s newest project is a theater production of Mojo, a story which recreates the lives of people in rival gangs in Soho during the 1950’s. Grint plays Sweet, a man known for dealing uppers and downers (Ironic, huh?). While this is Grint’s first foray into theater, he says that he would love to follow his compatriot, Daniel Radcliffe, and pursue more theater in the future, adding that “It’s opened my eyes; I’ve learned so much.”

Apparently, Grint has learned so much that he has even been nominated for the London Newcomer of the Year award at this year’s What’sOnStage Awards.

Not only is Grint distancing himself from his Ron Weasley beginnings by portraying a drug dealer and an aspiring porn star, but also a punk-rock legend in the upcoming film, CBGB. IN CBGB, Grint plays former rocker Cheetah Chrome, a man known for his extreme drug usage and crazy antics onstage as a guitarist for the band, The Dead Boys.

In taking these new roles, Grint assures his fans that its not simply for publicity: “It’s not really that I am trying to shock people or make a big statement. It’s just part of moving on,” says Grint. The former child-star actor added, “This is a completely new thing, a whole new level. It does scare me. That’s kind of a reason why I want to do it.”
