  • Rosario Dawson May Be Joining More Marvel Shows On Netflix

Rosario Dawson is set to appear on the second season of Daredevil next year, but fans will be happy to know that she may be showing up on crossovers as well.

Daredevil, AKA Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders are all coming to Netflix in the near future, and Marvel announced this week that Dawson’s agreement with the company means she could be involved in any of those shows as Claire Temple.

“After working with Rosario in the first season, we knew instantly that we had to have her back for our second. Claire Temple proved a fan favorite in Season 1, and we can’t wait for fans to see all the plans we have for her next,” said executive producer Jeph Loeb.

According to ScreenRant, Dawson isn’t the only actor who may be involved with crossovers for the many comic-based shows coming to Netflix.

Ultimately, Dawson’s expanding role and crossover potential is only one example of how Marvel aims to capitalize on its complex, interconnected universe. With a Defenders television event in the works, rumors that Doctor Strange will appear in Iron Fist before his own film, and the recently announced superhero line-up for Captain America: Civil War (Avengers 2.5?), the possibilities are endless in terms of how the studio can further coalesce its characters and story lines to create a truly comic book experience.

One of the many upsides to Netflix original programming is that every episode is available at once, meaning fans can binge-watch at their leisure. That may be the case with some recently cancelled network shows once they are added to Netflix’s content, as viewers are learning today that some of their favorite sitcoms and dramas have gotten the ax. Not only that, some shows are simply ending and will see the entire series go up on sites like Hulu (Mindy is reportedly one of those shows). • Dianna Agron Kisses Thomas Cocquerel at Coachella 2014

Glee star Dianna Agron was spotted kissing Australian actor Thomas Cocquerel at the annual Coachella festival on Saturday.

E! News confirmed the two are dating.

Agron posted several photos from the festival, which kicked off over the weekend in Indio, California, on Twitter but none included Cocquerel or made mention of him.

Like Cocquerel, Agron’s previous beau Nick Mathers hailed from Down Under. In August 2013 Agron was reported to be dating the Australian restaurateur but the relationship proved short-lived: news broke earlier this year that they had broken up.

As recently as February, Cocquerel was thought to be dating actress Lily Collins after they were spotted having dinner at a swanky Los Angeles restaurant and taking in a Lakers game at the Staples Center.

Agron is best known for her role as Quinn Fabray on Fox’s popular musical comedy-drama Glee but she’s been busy beefing up her resume with movie roles lately. She’s currently filming Tumbledown, a romantic comedy in which she stars alongside Blythe Danner, Rebecca Hall, and Jason Sudeikis.

She’ll also star in the thriller A Conspiracy on Jekyll Island with Minnie Driver, Maggie Q, and AnnaSophia Robb and the independent film Zipper with Richard Dreyfuss and Lena Headey, both set to release in 2014.

To top it off, Agron is rumored to be starring with Rosario Dawson in Famous, a drama about a Manhattan escort service.

Agron and Cocquerel weren’t the only celebrity couple spotted at Coachella over the weekend.

Emma Roberts was there with fiancé Evan Peters.

Sarah Hyland and boyfriend Matt Prokop and Joe Jonas and girlfriend Blanda Eggenschwiler also attended the festival.

  • Rosario Dawson Recovers Vanesa Hudgens’ ID

Let’s hope actress Vanessa Hudgens hasn’t been cruising around town because she’s been missing a little something…her driver’s license. But thanks to her Gimme Shelter co-star, her I.D. is no longer lost.

That’s right, Rosario Dawson recovered the 25-year-old’s I.D. Hudgens’ took to Twitter to spill how Dawson had saved her.

“The amazing moment when Rosario reached into the pocket of a jacket that was loaned to her by Alice + Olivia and found my driver’s license,” the 25-year-old beauty posted on both her Twitter and Tumblr page. “(I borrowed the jacket a month ago and it’s just been sitting in the pocket waiting to be returned back home to me) #CRAZYBANANAS!!!! #crazytiming #thankgod lool”

The film Dawson and Hudgens’ co-starred in was definitely something different from her Disney Channel days. Hudgens’ took on the role of a homeless mother.

“It was fun, it was really fun. Just because its so rare that you get to do that. I put on 15 pounds, ate whatever I wanted. I’m not complaining. I cut off all my hair, which really set the tone. It was such a liberating thing and kinda reminded me—if I can do that, I can do this,” Hudgens said about her role in the Ron Krauss-directed film.

  • Rosario Dawson Plays Vanessa Hudgens’ Mom in Film

Rosario Dawson Plays Vanessa Hudgens’ Mom in Film

Rosario Dawson plays Vanessa Hudgens‘ character’s mom in the new film Gimme Shelter. Hudgens plays the role of a pregnant homeless teenager with Dawson as her incredibly abusive crack addicted mother.

During a recent interview with Yahoo, Dawson dished about how this role was very different from those she typically plays, and not in the least bit glamorous.

“That was the challenge and what drew me to this, playing Vanessa Hudgens’ mother,” she said. “We both had to really go for it, and if she hadn’t gone all the way, what I was doing would just seem cartoonish and vice versa. When we were going to do this, we were on our way to Cannes – and talk about indulgence and all the glamour, beauty, partying on boats, fabulous dresses and so on! – and suddenly we’re in this motel and I’m barefoot and I’m attacking her, and we’re in it. But that’s what you want as an actor, to challenge yourself.”

Dawson is almost unrecognizable in this role in Gimme Shelter.

Rosario admitted that some of the film’s content hit home with her–taking her to some fairly dark and unusual places in her past.

“We’re doing a fight scene and they’re actually fighting me! It was really painful. So you do put your own life into it,” she explained. “My mom was just 16 when she got pregnant with me, and I never knew my biological father. He didn’t choose to be in my life. And then my step-dad stepped in and married my mom when I was one, so I always grew up with a dad . And my grandmother, who raised five kids on her own, could easily have told my mom, ‘You got pregnant – get out of my house!’ But she didn’t, even though she was mad, upset and disappointed. She was scared for my mom and me, but also kept her door open and kept us in. So this film is so close to home for me for so many reasons. My mom also worked in a shelter, in San Francisco, when I was 10, where they took in abused women and their kids. And I grew up in New York in the 80s and 90s and there was this big crack epidemic.”

Rosario Dawson has family members who became crack addicts–as she plays in Gimme Shelter–and lost everything they had to the addiction.

“I have family members who suffered crack addiction and lost their entire families and careers and children from it. So all that drew me to doing this film,” she said.

Gimme Shelter with Rosario Dawson and Vanessa Hudgens is likely to shed new light on to both of these actors. Hopefully it sheds light on the crack epidemic and the plight of the homeless, too. It is currently playing in theaters nationwide.
