  • Lindsey Vonn Looking Sexier Than Ever Following Tiger Woods Split

Lindsey Vonn has been spending a good deal of time since her split from Tiger Woods concentrating on herself–and she looks sexier than ever as a result.

The American World Cup alpine ski racer is clearly doing much better than Tiger Woods is these days, too. While he is being accused of cheating on her with
Amanda Boyd–she is looking fabulous on the cover of CNET Magazine.

Lindsey Vonn spoke recently with Entertainment Tonight, and preferred to dish about her role as an athlete rather than her role as Tiger Woods’ ex.

“Hopefully in the future they can come up with something that will help me improve my training,” she told the publication.

It was via Facebook that Lindsey Vonn announced her split from Woods, and she did explain her reason for that decision.

“I think social media is a really good platform to be able to communicate with fans,” she said.

Lindsey Vonn just returned from London where she cheered on Lewis Hamilton as he won the 2015 British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Just a day ago Lindsey Vonn cheered on Roger Federer at Wimbledon.

“Love this place! #GoFed #wimbledon,” she captioned an Instagram photo.

Yes, Lindsey Vonn appears not only sexy and fit, but also to be doing much better than Tiger Woods.

Kudos to the athlete and American beauty for holding her head and her standards so high.

  • Ernests Gulbis Ends Roger Federer’s 9-Year Streak, Advances To Quarterfinals

On Sunday, Latvian tennis pro Ernests Gulbis defeated Roger Federer and advanced to the quarterfinals. Gulbis also ended Federer’s 9-year streak of joining the final 8 at Roland Garros.

After their match, which lasted 3 hours and 42 minutes, Gulbis said “I’ve been playing very well in France. I won tournaments in Marseille and Nice (in 2014). Hopefully Paris is the next one.”

Federer felt regretful after losing, but also praised his opponent. “Gulbis did a good job of hanging around, and clearly coming back in that second set was crucial for him. I just with I could have played a bit better overall,” he said.

The match ended with a tally of 6-4 (5), 7-6 (3), 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. During their match, Gulbis had fewer unforced errors, and hit more winners and aces than Federer. Federer finished the match having 42 winners and 59 unforced errors, while Gulbis had 53 winners and 53 unforced errors.

Gulbis has been waiting for a win like this for a long time. He has improved his game and has gone from the top 130 to the top 20. However, he has never gone beyond the third round in all of the four major tournaments that he joined, and he was defeated by players who are beyond the top 50.

Gulbis said that beating Federer is his biggest win in the entirety of his career. “Sorry I had to win. I know how everyone likes Roger. It was a tough match, but this is sport.”

In 2013, Federer suffered back problems, which resulted in his worst season in 10 years. Despite the loss, he remains confident that he will be able to defend his grass-court title in Germany next week. He is also aspiring for his eighth title at Wimbledon, which will start on June 23. “I’m very excited about my chances for Wimbledon,” he said.

Gulbis will face Tomas Berdych in the quarterfinal round.

  • Stanislas Wawrinka Wins His First Grand Slam

Swiss tennis player Stanislas Wawrinka nabbed his first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open on Sunday. In an interview with CNN, the 28-year old Wawrinka seemed thrilled and maybe even a little surprised.

“I never dreamed about that, never expected to be in that situation and that’s just crazy … You don’t really know what’s happening, I started to tell myself ‘You just won a grand slam.’ It’s something amazing for me.”

Wawrinka wasn’t the only one surprised by his victory.

When Spain’s Rafael Nadal beat Wawrinka’s compatriot Roger Federer in the semi-finals Friday night, many assumed that Nadal would take the Australian Open title.

A victory for Nadal would have tied him with tennis legend Pete Sampras at 14 Grand Slam titles. He would have been the first man in the Open era to win each of the Grand Slam titles twice, and only the third in history to do so. (Australians Roy Emerson and Rod Laver accomplished the feat previously.)

Sampras himself tipped Nadal to win: “It’s a tough match-up and I’m not sure [Wawrinka] has the firepower from the back of the court. He’s got to deal with Rafa and his nerves, it’s his first major final so he needs to settle down and work his way into the match … I think Rafa’s just playing too well.”

Wawrinka had lost to Nadal in all 12 of their prior matches – and all 26 sets. But before their Australian Open match-up, Wawrinka pointed to his record with Serbia’s Novak Djokovic: “I’m playing my best tennis here, I’m physically ready. I’m going to try everything. Before I beat Djokovic it was the same — I had lost 14 times to him before that.”

But another Grand Slam win wasn’t in the cards for Nadal this time around. The Spaniard suffered a back injury on Sunday, and although he played through the pain barrier, he lacked the power to overcome Wawrinka.

    The final score: 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.

The win puts Wawrinka at number 3 in the world:

In what the tennis world has quickly come to recognize as his typical humble style, Wawrinka said: “It’s really not the way you want to win a tennis match, but in a Grand Slam final I’ll take it.”

  • Roger Federer’s Life is Getting Better-er

Roger Federer’s Life is Getting Better-er

    You’ve heard the song, right?

Top-ranked tennis player Roger Federer has been doing more than breaking Grand Slam singles title records and providing us eye candy since Andre Agassi’s retirement– According to an excited tweet from Roger himself, it looks like the Federer family is expecting another child next year. Married to former tennis player Mirka Vavrinec for the past four years, they’re adding another member to their clan already started by identical twin girls Myla Rose and Charlene Riva.

2013 was a difficult year for Federer due to a back injury, but he’ll begin his 2014 season on December 29 at the Brisbane International. Optimistic about playing with no injury and playing for one more cheerleader in the home stands, Federer recently told The Sunday Mail that, “This stretch is very important for me, and I really don’t want to have any more setbacks.”

    The world misses him,

and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for Federer next year.
