  • Lindsay Lohan Suing Rockstar Games Over Supposed Likeness

Lindsay Lohan is reportedly suing Rockstar Games due to imagery they used in Grand Theft Auto V, saying it looks too much like her and that they never asked permission.

The images include a photo on the cover of the game which shows a blonde in a bikini, holding up a smartphone while flashing a peace sign. Though that picture has been compared to Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton, Lohan thinks it looks too much like her for comfort. There’s also a scene in the game where a young starlet has to avoid paparazzi, and another where the player is asked to secretly film a girl having sex in a hotel resembling the Chateau Marmont, a place Lohan has actually lived in for long periods of time.

Lohan hasn’t been making many headlines lately; fresh out of rehab after arrests, brawls, and substance abuse issues, the 27-year old actress has been staying out of the spotlight for the most part. She did share some photos on Instagram over the Thanksgiving holiday as she cooked up a dish of marshmallow-topped yams, however.

No word yet on whether Rockstar Games has admitted to borrowing Lohan’s likeness for the game or how much Lohan is asking for in the lawsuit.

  • Rockstar Depositing Virtual Money Into GTA Online Players’ Bank Accounts

Rockstar Depositing Virtual Money Into GTA Online Players’ Bank Accounts

GTA Online had some netcode issues plaguing players on its rollout, resulting in a number of patches being released in order to stabilize the experience. Aside from working to fix these issues, Rockstar Games is also rewarding players for not abandoning them during the rough launch. To show their affection, the developers are making it rain in the bank accounts of GTA Online players everywhere. Called “the stimulus package,” will be in the form of digital money–no, not Bitcoin-in the amount of half a million dollars.

The money will be dispersed via two virtual deposits; each for $250,000. To qualify for Rockstar’s thank you, players must meet the following criteria:

  • You must play or have played Grand Theft Auto Online at any time during the month of October 2013 in order to qualify for the GTA$500,000 deposit in your in-game bank account.
  • Players will first have to install a forthcoming GTAV title update which we expect to happen next week. That title update (1.04) is expected to fix the remaining instances of issues that have caused vehicle purchase loss and will also enable the functionality through which we’ll be providing this GTA$ stimulus cash to players.
  • We will announce at the Rockstar Newswire when each deposit is made.
  • Each of the two GTA$250,000 deposits will be made by Rockstar and should automatically appear in the in-game GTA Online bank accounts of eligible players. Beyond downloading the forthcoming title update mentioned above, there should not be any additional special action required by eligible players to redeem.
  • For those who qualify, but haven’t received their money, Rockstar offers the following:

We expect that it will take up to 2 full days for the Stimulus Package to be fully delivered to the entire player base from October 2013, so please be patient if you do not see it appearing in your in-game bank account just yet. We will update this post on Friday when we expect all the GTA$ Stimulus Package deposits to have been completed.

With all of that in mind, what do you plan on doing with all that digital money? Did Rockstar go far enough to make up for their launch day blues?

  • ‘Grand Theft Auto Online’ Finally Fixed, Claims Rockstar

Developer Rockstar today issued yet another new patch for Grand Theft Auto Online, the multiplayer side of the record-selling Grand Theft Auto V. This title update is supposed to end players’ troubles with losing progress and gear once and for all.

Ever since GTA Onine launched at the beginning of October, players have encountered instability and numerous glitches. The game was unplayable for many fans during its opening days due to crowded servers. In the weeks that followed, many players complained of progress, vehicles, in-game money, and even entire characters simply disappearing.

Rockstar’s latest patch is meant to deal with these complaints. The developer said it has now implemented a system that prevents progress and in-game cash loss when Rockstar’s cloud servers are down or when there are network problems. A glitch related to players losing vehicles or vehicle mods has also been patched.

With the game’s largest issues now possibly behind it, Rockstar revealed that its big “special stimulus package” that it announced on October 11 should start rolling out “in the next couple of days.” Players who played GTA Online during October will be receiving $500,000 of in-game cash as a sort of apology for the game’s difficult opening month.

The fixes come just in time for GTA Online‘s first content add-on, which Rockstar recently announced would be coming in November. The add-on will add new weapons, vehicles, and customization options to both GTA V and GTA Online.

  • Grand Theft Auto V Might Make It To PC After All [Report]

Grand Theft Auto V launched on Xbox 360 and PS3 last month, and has already made more money than you’ll ever see in a lifetime. Hell, it’s even been awarded with seven Guinness World Records. Despite all this, there’s still no PC version of the game. That all might change in 2014 though.

Eurogamer reports that Rockstar’s latest open world crime simulator will be coming to the PC in the first quarter of 2014. The report comes from multiple unnamed industry sources who said that GTA V’s PC release will be similar to GTA IV’s PC release – eight months after the console release. If that’s the case, we’ll see GTA V hit the PC in May. It’s not exactly the first quarter anymore, but it’s still the first half of the year.

A PC version is nice and all, but what about next-gen versions? GTA V players will tell you that the game’s ambitious scope would have been better served on hardware that’s not eight years old. Well, Rockstar addressed that very subject back in July:

We don’t have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time and we are completely focused on delivering the best possible experience for the consoles people have right now.

With the report of a PC version on the way, it makes a next-gen version seem almost plausible. After all, Rockstar could stand to make a lot of money from repeat purchases by releasing the same game on next-gen consoles, but with an improved framerate and full 1080p visuals. This generation proved that people are willing to double dip on HD remasters of older games, and the same might just be true next generation.

  • Rockstar Details Grand Theft Auto Online, Confirms Microtransactions

Last week, millions of gamers around the world helped make Grand Theft Auto V the most successful game launch in history. Now those same gamers are making their way through the world of Los Santos, and will no doubt find themselves facing the end credits screen soon enough. That won’t be the end, however, as their own personal story will begin in Grand Theft Auto Online.

Rockstar took to its official blog today to update players on the status of the free Grand Theft Auto Online update coming to GTAV in October. The developer says that it still plans to roll out GTA Online on October 1, but wants players to know that it probably won’t be perfect at launch.

The first couple of weeks we expect to be heavily focused on tuning the experience as it goes from internal testing to the reality of being played by tons of people in the real world so that all the usual teething problems for an online game are overcome. We hope it will all run incredibly smoothly, but please bear with us if it doesn’t, and help us fix any and all problems!

During the first few weeks and throughout the life of the game, Rockstar wants the players to decide the evolution of its first persistent online world. The team wants players to tell them everything, from what kind of missions they want to see in GTA Online to how they should approach future content updates. Rockstar will also be setting up a dedicated email address for players to submit bugs and suggestions.

Oh, and Rockstar is already prepping to make sure it has the server capacity to handle everybody logging into GTA Online when it goes live next month.:

One thing we are already aware of, and are trying to alleviate as fast as we can, is the unanticipated additional pressure on the servers due to a significantly higher number of players than we were anticipating at this point – we are working around the clock to buy and add more servers, but this increased scale is only going to make the first few days even more temperamental than such things usually are. This is part of the problem some of you have been experiencing with the iFruit App and some Social Club services – we apologize in advance for this and thank you for your patience in this area.

As for the gameplay of GTA Online itself, Rockstar says that players can expect all the fun of the single-player campaign but with up to 16 friends. You can take on heists, compete in races and sports, and customize your character to however you see fit.

Rockstar also confirms that the GTA Online economy will run off of its own currency called GTA$. Players will be able to earn the in-game currency through complete missions and winning races, and that money can then be used to buy in-game items. If you don’t want to earn your money, you can bypass all that by spending real world money to purchase GTA$. Rockstar affirms that GTA Online can be fully enjoyed without spending a single dime, and that the microtransactions are only there for those who don’t want to put in the effort.

On a final note, Rockstar says that it already has a number of expansions in the works for GTA Online, including a content creator, the beach bum pack, a Capture the Flag mode and co-op Heists missions. All of this will be made available for free as will all other expansions for GTA Online.

  • Grand Theft Auto V Mythbusters Searches For The Truth

As you might expect, the overwhelming popularity of Grand Theft Auto Va billion dollars in three days is astounding–has led to the creation of user-generated content celebrating the game and all the things you can do. reddit, is, of course, one of the primary ground zeroes for such content, as is the ubiquitous YouTube. For those of you who follow the video game/YouTube content creation industry, you are well aware of how lucrative it can be. For those of you who aren’t, make no mistake, the term “industry” was not used lightly.

Aside from creating awesome content, it helps to either be really early to a trend, or create a niche people didn’t know they wanted. This appears to be the case with Grand Theft Auto V Mythbusters, a combination of two great tastes that, at least in the first issue, tastes great together. The idea is simple enough, the creators–DefendTheHouse–take suggestions, or “myths” about GTA V’s gameplay, and try to determine whether they are true or not.

The success/failure of their attempts confirms or busts these gameplay myths, which was demonstrated nicely in the first episode, meaning there are more to come:

To generate feedback and ideas for upcoming content, the creators asked viewers for suggestions, which helps complete the “make money from YouTube” circle. More episodes, more video views, and more subscribers. And this, folks, is where the money from YouTube is made. Just ask PewDiePie about his bank account if you have any questions. As for the potential earning power of the GTA Mythbusters videos, the first one has received over 1.2 million views in only two days, and it features a healthy like-to-dislike ratio. The question is, will the creators capitalize on their opportunity and keep these viewers coming back.

So far, the 305,000-plus subscriber count is a good sign.

  • Grand Theft Auto V Brings In $800 Million On Its First Day

On Tuesday, Rockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto V to the world five years after the last game hit store shelves. Demand for Rockstar’s latest open-world action game was high, but just how successful was it?

Take Two Interactive announced today that Grand Theft Auto V made more than $800 million in world wide sales on its first day. That means Rockstar’s latest holds the new first days sales record for a video game. The previous record holder was last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II which managed to sell through $500 million worth of copies in its first day on store shelves.

Take Two is obviously pleased by GTAV’s performance, and can’t wait to make even more money when the game launches in Brazil and Japan later this year:

“All of us at Take-Two are thrilled with the initial response to Grand Theft Auto V. Once again, the team at Rockstar Games have outdone themselves, setting the entertainment industry’s new standard for creativity, innovation and excellence,” said Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two. “Beginning at midnight on Monday, consumers around the world gathered in anticipation to be among the first to experience the evolution of this remarkable series. In North America alone, more than 8,300 stores opened their doors at midnight to welcome fans whose loyalty and enthusiasm were rewarded with what The New York Times called ‘the most immersive spectacle in interactive entertainment’. We are incredibly proud of Rockstar Games’ creative achievement and could not be more pleased with the success of this launch.”

Besides being a commercial success, GTAV has proven to be quite the critical darling as well. The Xbox 360 version of the game is currently sitting at a 98 on Metacritic with over 25 perfect scores. In fact, the only outlet so far to rate the game below a 90 was The Escapist who called out the game’s story for featuring morally reprehensible characters that betrays Rockstar’s history of telling stories about well-intentioned men being drawn into the darker side of humanity.

Regardless of how the critics feel, the gamers responded with their dollars in such a manner that ensures Grand Theft Auto will remain one of the cornerstones of gaming for years to come.

  • Grand Theft Auto V Gets The NMA Treatment

Tomorrow is the day – Grand Theft Auto V launches on Xbox 360 and PS3. The millions of gamers across the country who pre-ordered will be able to pick up what is arguably the biggest entertainment launch of the year at midnight.

Before you drop everything to play GTAV for two weeks straight, you might want to check out what everybody’s favorite Taiwanese animation outlet has to say about Rockstar’s latest. As expected, the focus is on the series’ trademark violence, sexuality and controversy. Beyond that, you’ll wanna stick around until the end for the cocaine road lines and grave robbing-fueled deviancy.

Regardless of how you feel about Grand Theft Auto, it’s all anybody is going to be talking about for the next few weeks. You might as well get used to it.

  • See GTA V’s World by Car and by Plane [VIDEO]

The release of Grand Theft Auto V is only hours away in the U.S., and gamers are already playing the highly-anticipated title in many parts of the world. Reviews for the game have been predictably outstanding, and midnight launch events are expected to be crowded.

One aspect of the game touched on in nearly every GTAV review is how sprawling and diverse the game’s world is. Grand Theft Auto is the series that popularized the open-world sandbox game, and so GTAV has a lot of history to live up to. The game is set in the fictional city of Los Santos, a satirical parody of the real-world Los Angeles.

PlayStation Access today released two long, spoiler-free looks at GTAV’s Los Santos and Blaine County. The first provides a tour of the game world by air. Appropriately, the PS Access narrators take off from an airport with police desperately trying to stop them. Showing off the massive scale of the map, the tour covers the city proper, the hills surrounding it, and the more sparsely populated desert areas to the north:

The second video provides a driving tour of Los Santos and its outskirts. Taking to the highway in a fast car, PS Access demonstrates a bit of the game’s driving systems and gives a different sense of scale for the game by showing just how much road GTAV has:

  • Grand Theft Auto V “Official” Trailer Released

For years now, developer Rockstar has been sparing with its Grand Theft Auto V trailers. The game was first announced back in 2011 along with a fairly vague teaser. Another look at the game came last fall and introduced the main characters. Now, within the past two months gamers have learned about GTA V‘s gameplay, cars, and an ambitious multiplayer mode dubbed Grand Theft Auto Online.

Though it might seem like a too much to take in after such a long wait, Rockstar has still managed to keep the hype up and make each announcement about GTA V an event. Today is no exception.

Rockstar today released the “official” trailer for Grand Theft Auto V. There will no doubt be other videos released in the run-up to the game’s September 17 released date, but this is the one that will be probably be seen in movie theaters and before YouTube videos in the coming weeks. It succinctly teases the story of Michael, a retired criminal drawn back into the game by circumstances beyond his control. The rest of the trailer makes the game seem like the best heist-movie simulator ever made:

  • Rockstar Details Digital Content Coming To Collector’s Edition Of Grand Theft Auto V

We’re only a few weeks away from the launch of Grand Theft Auto V, and the hype has reached astronomical levels. Gamers everywhere are no doubt putting down pre-orders on both the special and collector’s edition of the game. Both of these editions come with a bevy of exclusive digital content, but are they worth it?

In a post on the Rockstar Games blog, the developer has finally detailed the extent of the digital content that comes with the special and collector’s editions of Grand Theft Auto V. Players who purchase these versions will get exclusive access additional guns, missions, clothing and accessories.

Starting with weapons, Rockstar says that players will have access to two free guns at weapon shops right from the start – the .50 caliber pistol and the Bullpup Shotgun. As for melee weapons, players will be given access to the Hammer.

For clothing, all three of the playable characters will receive a 20 percent discount at clothing shops alongside an exclusive outfit, one additional article of clothing and a tattoo. Here’s what they look like in game (image courtesy of Rockstar Games):

Rockstar Details Digital Content Coming To GTAV

All three playable characters will also receive a special ability boost that allows players to fill up the special ability bar at a faster rate to activate said ability. Here’s what they are:

Michael is an expert marksman – his Special Ability slows down time in a gunfight allowing him to pick off his targets with greater ease. Franklin is a skilled driver with sharp reflexes – his Special Ability lets him slow down time while driving any road-based vehicle, allowing him to quickly navigate through traffic with ease and take corners at high speeds. Trevor is a drug-addled sociopath with a short fuse – his Special Ability sends him into a rage, causing double damage to enemies while only taking half as much damage himself when hit.

For those looking for something a little more exotic, both editions of the game will include stunt plane trials that will challenge players’ skill in flight. There are five challenges in all, and a leaderboard that will allow players to compete with their friends.

Now, Rockstar has included two more digital extras for those who fork over $150 for the collector’s edition of Grand Theft Auto V. The first is an expanded character creator for Grand Theft Auto Online that allows players to create a character based upon Niko Bellic from Grand Theft Auto IV or Claude and Misty from Grand Theft Auto III. The second gives players a number of exclusive vehicles and a garage in Grand Theft Auto Online.

On top of all the physical goodies that come with the special and collector’s edition of the game, the digital items add a lot more value to those who want to spend either $80 or $150 on the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

  • Taking A Look At The Cars of Grand Theft Auto 5

Driving is an incredibly large portion of open world games. Drive to a checkpoint to pick up a certain objective and deliver it to another side of town; or pick up that passenger and keep them alive for a predetermined amount of time while trying to avoid various baddies trying to knock you off of the road. If you’ve played GrandTheftAutoSaintsRowJustCauseScarfaceTheGodfather, or something similar, you know exactly what I’m referring to.

Because of that particular feature, the design of the vehicles is an important detail. Granted, in these games, a much more arcade style of driving is present–as opposed to the realism found in Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport–but, performance still matters.

You can’t outrun the cops in a hooptie, now can you?

Anyway, considering you’ll be doing a lot of driving in the upcoming GTA V, information about the available cars can’t be a bad thing. True, this information is available on the official site, but until Games HQ Media showed up, such a showcase wasn’t available in video form:

If you’ve already visited the vehicles page on the GTA V site, you might have noticed Games HQ Media’s video is awfully similar to Rockstar’s Flash presentation. In fact, it looks like the Flash files were extracted into a video file and then a soundtrack was placed over top of it. While the creators give appropriate credit in the video’s about page, if this was done without the approval of the Grand Theft Auto family, does this mean the video is infringing on Rockstar’s content? With that in mind, would Square Enix approve of a such a video?

I’m also curious if these user-generated videos really add anything to the discussion? Perhaps if some in-game footage of the cars was included. Apparently, Games HQ Media doesn’t have access to that content yet. It’s not like there was a lot in the reveal trailer.

  • Grand Theft Auto Online Launches October 1, Free With Every Copy Of GTAV

At the end of the first Grand Theft Auto V gameplay trailer, Rockstar teased us with a short look at the game’s multiplayer. At the time, most just assumed that it would be similar to Grand Theft Auto IV’s traditional multiplayer. That’s not entirely the case as Rockstar has something much more ambitious in mind with its latest open world game.

Rockstar Games announced today that Grand Theft Auto V’s online multiplayer is actually an entirely separate mode called Grand Theft Auto Online. The mode, which will be released as a free download for all who purchase Grand Theft Auto V, is a persistent, online world for up to 16 players to do anything they want in the world of GTA V.

So, how does all of this work? Here’s what Rockstar Games had to say about it on the PlayStation blog:

In Grand Theft Auto Online, players have the freedom to explore alone or with friends, work cooperatively to complete missions, band together to participate in activities and ambient events, or compete in traditional game modes with the entire community, all with the personality and refined mechanics of Grand Theft Auto V.

Players can invest in their character through customizing their appearance, improving their stats, owning customized vehicles, purchasing personal property, and taking part in missions, jobs and activities to earn reputation and cash to open up new opportunities to rise through the criminal ranks. The world of Grand Theft Auto Online will constantly grow and change as new content is added, creating the first ever persistent and dynamic Grand Theft Auto game world.

You’ll find the first Grand Theft Auto Online trailer below:

Grand Theft Auto Online looks to be incredibly ambitious, and it’s surprising that Rockstar has chosen to include it as a free addition to Grand Theft Auto V. The developer could have sold it as a separate game and it would have still sold millions of copies. GTA fans are no doubt happy that Rockstar chose to include it as part of the base game.

Grand Theft Auto Online won’t be available on September 17 alongside Grand Theft Auto V’s launch. It will instead be available as a free download on October 1 for all those who purchased GTA V at retail.

  • Grand Theft Auto V Gameplay Trailer Released

Since the big reveal of Grand Theft Auto V last fall, each new revelation and trailer has been a huge event for gamers. The trio of trailers released back in April sparked rumors about how the game will play with three main characters.

Since that time, Rockstar Games developers have revealed that players will be able to switch between any of the characters on-the-fly, giving Grand Theft Auto V a unique feature from its predecessors. Today, Rockstar revealed exactly how the game will play.

The first official gameplay video for GTA V was released today. It once again details each of the characters before demonstrating how players will be able to switch between them, even during a high-intensity heist. Some features new to the series are also previewed, including customizable cars and clothing; playing tennis and golf; scuba diving and skydiving; doing yoga; and hunting (animals).

  • Grand Theft Auto V Will Have A Mandatory 8GB Install

Grand Theft Auto games are always huge and brimming with content. It was surprising that Rockstar managed to fit all of Grand Theft Auto IV on one DVD for the Xbox 360 release, but they won’t be able to do that with the latest title.

In a new Q&A released today, Rockstar said that Grand Theft Auto V will ship on two discs on the Xbox 360. It will also required an 8GB install for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions:

Grand Theft Auto V is the largest and most ambitious game we have yet created, and takes full advantage of every ounce of processing power available in the current generation of consoles. In order to provide the best possible experience for such a massive and detailed world, the game will have installation requirements on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 systems. For Xbox 360, Grand Theft Auto V will ship on two discs; Disc 1 will be used for a one-time mandatory install and Disc 2 will be used to play the game. After the install, players will be able to enjoy both Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online without any need to switch discs.

This initial install will require an Xbox 360 Hard Drive or an external 16GB USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space. If using a USB flash drive it must be at least USB 2.0 with a minimum 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use. A new USB flash drive is recommended to ensure optimum performance. For PlayStation®3, the game ships on one disc and will install content as soon as you insert the game. The install is roughly 8GB, and players will be able to play as soon as the install is complete.

As for other differences between the two versions, Rockstar says they’re nearly identical:

Players can expect the same great gameplay experience on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms as they have both been developed in tandem. Like all of our games, trust that we’re committed to making sure Grand Theft Auto V looks and runs as great as possible regardless of whether you pick it up for PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, and we are excited for fans on both platforms to experience Grand Theft Auto V this September. We expect any visual differences to be completely negligible.

The game is already looking really good, but can we expect an even better looking version on next-gen consoles or PC? Unfortunately, Rockstar isn’t saying yet:

The only versions of the game that we have announced are for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 which are set for a September 17th worldwide release. We don’t have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time and we are completely focused on delivering the best possible experience for the consoles people have right now.

Oh, and don’t get any ideas about killing off one of the three main playable characters with another. They apparently have really good health insurance:

In the open world, the characters are meant to be living their own ongoing and unpredictable personal lives, so understandably it’s not always easy to track one of them down in the vast city of Los Santos or the many towns spread about Blaine County at any given moment, but you will be able to find them. Having found them, (or simply after calling them up and arranging to meet them), you’ll certainly be able to hang out with them, annoy them should you choose, and maybe even assault them, but you won’t be able to kill them. They all have remarkable powers of recovery and good health insurance. The game is based on playing all sides of these three characters’ interwoven stories rather than having generic, interchangeable leads, so permanently killing a major character in that way wouldn’t make sense. If a player is determined enough though, they may well find a way to badly injure one of the characters and switching to that character would just put you in the hospital to continue where you left off.

Grand Theft Auto V will be available on September 17 for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

  • Grand Theft Auto V Gets A $150 Collector’s Edition, Comes With A Hat

Rockstar Games announced that those who pre-order the game will get access to a blimp that can be used in-game. It might not be much, but hey, it’s a blimp.

The special and collector’s editions of Grand Theft Auto V are now available for pre-order from pretty much every retailer.

Grand Theft Auto V is unique in that it stars three protagonists – Michael, Franklin and Trevor. Rockstar has kept mostly mum on these new protagonists for a while now, but the developer is opening up a bit today with three new trailers that give ample attention to each protagonist.

First up is Michael, a middle-aged family man that’s looking for a spark to make his life more exciting.

Next up is Franklin, a gang member that’s starting to question his motivations:

The final character is Trevor, a drug dealer that’s just a bit unhinged:

If you prefer to watch your trailers all at once, Rockstar also released a supercut of all three:

Grand Theft Auto V will be available on September 17 for the Xbox 360 and PS3. We can only hope that Rockstar delivers a PC version of what looks to be the last great AAA blockbuster of this generation.

  • Rockstar Games Unveils Grand Theft Auto V’s Cover Art

Since Grand Theft Auto III, the series has employed an iconic cover art that’s uniquely GTA. The latest game in the franchise indicates that Rockstar isn’t ditching the style yet.

Rockstar Games today revealed the cover art for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto V. Like past games, the cover art gives plenty of attention to the protagonists of the title while showcasing other characters and scenes that players will encounter in the game.

Rockstar Unveils Grand Theft Auto V Boxart

The cover art reveal hopefully signals that Rockstar will start sharing more details on GTAV. The game still largely remains a mystery at this point, but that should all change in the coming months. In fact, we should see the biggest info drop on the title at this year’s E3 in June.

Grand Theft Auto V is scheduled to launch across the Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 17. A PC port will probably come a few months after if the delayed release of GTAIV on the PC is any indication. As for a Wii U port, don’t hold your breath.

  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Hits iOS, Android on December 6

Rockstar Games announced today that Grand Theft Auto: Vice City 10th Anniversary Edition will be coming to iOS and Android smartphones and tablets on December 6.

The game developer and publisher last month announced that Vice City would be coming to mobile devices with upgraded high definition graphics and touch screen controls. Both the iOS and Android versions of the game will be priced at $5 through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Vice City is still among the most well-regarded Grand Theft Auto titles. In it, players take on the role of Tommy Vercetti and work their way up the tower of crime syndicates in a fictional city modeled after Miami. There are many references in the game to the movie Scarface, and the most pricey real estate in the game is clearly a depiction of Tony Montana’s mansion at the end of Scarface.

Apart from the fun story and gameplay, Vice City featured what could easily be argued is the best soundtrack in any Grand Theft Auto game. The music was an eclectic mix of the best of the 80s, and was often an excuse to just sit inside a vehicle.

The promised new Vice City trailer hasn’t yet been released, but the decade-old trailers below still show off the game (and the music) pretty well.

  • New Grand Theft Auto V Trailer Unveiled

New Grand Theft Auto V Trailer Unveiled

The second trailer for Grand Theft Auto V has finally arrived. There hasn’t been much video of the game since a teaser trailer for the title was released over one year ago. A few weeks ago the title was announced for a “spring 2013” release and the latest Game Informer magazine contains an extensive preview of the title.

Today, after the audacious countdown clock on Rockstar‘s blog hit zero, the most anticipated and hyped trailer of the year was released. Is it any good? You’ll have to decide that for yourself, but the characters certainly look interesting. Each one of the characters feature in the trailer appears to correspond to some aspect of the Los Angeles-inspired Los Santos setting of the game. One is involved in inner-city gang violence, one is from the upper-class socialite area in the hills, and one comes out of the more, um, “rural” areas surrounding the city.
