  • Macaulay Culkin Sports Long Locks in Selfie With Bob Saget, Seth Green

Macaulay Culkin let his hair hang down in a selfie taken with Fuller House star Bob Saget and comedian Seth Green, following an evening in New York City.

The Home Alone star, who is 35, sported long blonde locks–below shoulder-length–as the gang posed amidst a backdrop of neon signs in Times Square.

Bob Saget captioned the shot, “Fun times last night after show in the #TimesSquare with friends @ClareGrant, Macaulay Culkin, and the master of the selfie, my pal @SethGreen.”

Of far more interest to those viewing the photo than Macaulay Culkin’s long hair, is the notion that he and Bob Saget are friends. E! News reports the likely link is Seth Green. Macaulay Culkin appeared in Robot Chicken, which Green produced.

Rumors have run rampant about Macaulay Culkin since he all but disappeared from the limelight following his Home Alone successes. Tales of his death, drug abuse and health problems pepper social media from time to time, but none have been confirmed.

It’s hard to believe–don’t you think–that the man sporting the long blonde hair in this photo with Bob Saget and Seth Green is Macaulay Culkin–the same person who played the adorable Kevin McCallister in the still-popular Christmas movies.

  • Macaulay Culkin Makes Comic Con Appearance

Macaulay Culkin hasn’t been in the public eye much since last year, when he was publicly accused of suffering from a debilitating drug habit. Culkin’s reps vehemently denied the rumors at the time, but Culkin only spurred the rumors on by appearing disheveled and unwell. According to the rep, the rumors were “not only categorically without merit, but…also impossibly and ridiculously fictitious. We beseech the responsible media to consider the source and its reputation and to please not perpetuate this destructive and insulting story by pursuing it any further.”

This weekend, however, he showed up at the New York Comic Con looking healthy and in good spirits, and when asked by a fan where he’s been hiding since starring in 2004’s “Saved!”, he replied cheekily, “Hiding under a rock somewhere.”

Culkin appeared at the Con with friends Breckin Meyer, Seth Green, and Matthew Senreich on the “Robot Chicken” panel and got silly with the boys, donning a pair of furry ears for the session. The 33-year old actor has been a frequent voice contributor on the Cartoon Network show for several years, often working alongside ex Mila Kunis.

At the Con, Seth Green–who is also a former child actor–spoke up on Culkin’s behalf, saying, “The best thing about Mac is that he had a better career by the time he was 14 than most of us have in our whole lives. If he spends four years, six years, not doing anything, he’ll still be more relevant than anyone here.”

  • Comic-Con 2013: Robot Chicken DC Comics Special Sequel To Focus On Villains

If you ask me, the best thing to come out of entertainment last year was the Robot Chicken DC Comics Special. The 30 minute episode spoofed its way through some of the greatest (and lesser known) DC Comics heroes and villains. Now Seth Green and team are putting together a sequel.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the next special will be called Robot Chicken DC Comics Special II: Villains In Paradise. The special will be formally introduced today during the Robot Chicken panel at Comic-Con 2013. Before that, however, Green shared some details of what the special will entail.

As the title implies, the special will focus on the villains of the DC Comics universe. Specifically, it will focus on Lex Luthor and his daughter. Green hints that the overarching story may have to deal with a what if scenario involving Luthor’s daughter falling in love with Superboy. He says that the special will be “a little bit more of a West Side Story/Romeo and Juliet star-crossed love story.”

Green says that script for the second DC Comics special is done, and that they’re starting to record voices now. They’re also going to start filming in August. The second special will air on Adult Swim sometime in 2014.

If you missed the first DC Comics Special, you missed out on a storyline where Aquaman finally gets his due. After being ignored and abused by the Justice League, he decides to team up with the Legion of Doom to get revenge. It spirals out from there into a series of jokes making fun of everything from Batman’s fight with Bane in Knightfall to lesser known DC characters like Mr. Banjo.

Here’s the trailer for the first special:

  • The Robot Chicken Crew Stopped By Google For A Chat

Robot Chicken has consistently remained one of the best shows on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. The team behind the show are some of the funniest people in the business, and the folks at Google were lucky enough to pick their brains for 30 minutes.

Watch this entertaining panel discussion with the “Robot Chicken” show leads — Seth Green, Matthew Senreich, Tom Root and Zeb Wells — at Google’s LA office on April 17, 2013.

Among the wide range of topics they cover: the genesis of the Robot Chicken Star Wars episodes (and what George Lucas is like in person), whether we’ll ever see Apocalypse ponies on the market, what sketch ideas have gone “too far” and why, and how Seth Green in “Entourage” and Seth Green in real life are not the same person.

  • Star Wars Detours Might Lead Us To The Dark Side Of Television

I think we can all agree that the Robot Chicken Star Wars specials are pretty fantastic. The jokes are spot on, the characterization is flawless and the voice work is superb. The team that made those specials are back with a new animated series that focuses on what made the Robot Chicken specials so funny – looking at the daily life of characters like Darth Vader or Ben Kenobi.

The new series is called Star Wars Detours and it’s hard to describe. The humor of Robot Chicken is still there in some parts, but it feels like it’s been toned down for a younger audience. That wouldn’t be such a bad thing if the animation itself was decent, but they went with a super deformed CG animation style.

Anyways, formulate you own opinion. Check out the lengthy trailer below:

The best part about Star Wars Detours is that it brings back many of the voice actors from the Robot Chicken specials. Breckin Meyer, who voices the best Boba Fett in existence, is back in the role. Seth MacFarlane will also be reprising his role as Emperor Palpatine.

From there, we’re left with a few good jokes, but it just feels far too tame. The Robot Chicken specials were, well, special because they didn’t pull any punches. They took the more morbid and serious parts of the Star Wars films and made them funny. Star Wars Detours just takes the characters and puts them into situations of physical comedy. I love physical comedy as much as the next guy, but it’s just not working here.

To be fair, the show isn’t out yet and it could redeem itself. After all, the new Clone Wars animated series has proven to be quite good even if isn’t quite as good as Genndy Tartakovsky’s original Clone Wars series. Star Wars television series have always been hit or miss, but the recent series have been hits. Maybe Star Wars Detours will prove to be a hit as well.

  • Robot Chicken to Do ‘Super Friends’ Parody Special

Robot Chicken will soon take on DC Super Heroes, TV Guide is reporting. The Comedy Central show is teaming up with DC Comics and Warner Brothers Animation to do a special resembling the Super Friends. The special, created by Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, will air on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim this fall.

Robot Chicken’s DC Comics Special will contain a star-studded cast. Seth Green will provide the voices of Batman, Robin, and Aquaman. Paul Ruebens is slated to play The Riddler. Neil Patrick Harris is Two-Face. Alfred Molina (Doc Ock, Spiderman 2) will play Lex Luther. Nathan Fillion (Castle) is the Green Lantern, Megan Fox is Lois Lane, and Breckin Meyer of Robot Chicken will play Superman.

Robot Chicken producers worked with DC’s Cheif Creative Officer, Geoff John’s on the project to create a parody of the entire comic book genre.

“Having been raised on DC Comics and the Super Friends vs. Legion of Doom, it’s exciting to tell a whole Robot Chicken story within this awesome universe,” Green says. Adds co-creator Matthew Senreich (who is also in the cast), “We’ve been working with Geoff Johns for over 15 years, so playing together on this special only made it more fun to work in the worlds we all love so dearly.”

The Robot Chicken DC Comics Special features many Robot Chicken favorites including the Robot Chicken Nerd, the Humping Robot, Composite Santa, and the Mad Scientist who will be joined by the DC characters to poke fun at those with the most impressive powers and the lesser ones who can’t really be called superheroes… (Aquaman, I’m looking in your direction)

This marks the first full episode featuring DC characters, but Robot Chicken has incorporated them into the show since the very beginning. Remember the first season sketch “Real World: Metropolis”.

Really, it was only a matter of time before a special like this came out. When you have the CCO of DC Comics working for you in the past (Johns wrote for the show from 08-09 and was a co-producer of Titan Maximum), that kind of connection will pay off big time. It’s a good thing they are doing it big, with a cast any blockbuster movie producer would be happy to have.

I wonder if Family Guy will do a DC Comic special now…
