  • Kristen Stewart Embarrasses Robert Pattinson With Public Apology

It was the news heard ’round the world earlier this week when Kristen Stewart–of “Twilight” fame–released a public apology for her indiscretions with older, married director Rupert Sanders, effectively admitting the stories were true and causing the Hollywood rumor mill to come to a grinding, shuddering halt.

Her longtime boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, is reportedly very embarrassed that she chose to go public with the apology rather than keep it between the parties involved; the couple has maintained the belief that it’s best to keep their relationship behind closed doors, considering their rabid “Twilight” fanbase and the fact that Hollywood romances are hard to keep going once the tabloids make them a sensation. It’s understandable that Pattinson should be blindsided by the admission, and by the way it was done. In the apology, Stewart said:

“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”

A “source” close to Pattinson perhaps said it best:

“As Rob told me, ‘She only had to call two people: me and Liberty.’”

Liberty is the name of Sanders’ wife, and sadly hasn’t been focused on enough within this whole scandal. She has two children with Sanders, who directed Stewart in “Snow White And The Huntsman”. And while many of Stewart’s fans are urging Pattinson to forgive her, it’s hard to say whether or not Sanders’ wife will do the same.

  • Kristen Stewart Gets Some Lovin’ Behind Robert Pattinson’s Back: Twitter Reacts

Kristen Stewart, a girl who is currently dating a guy most women would lose a few limbs to be with, has reportedly cheated on her beau with first-time director Rupert Sanders, the man responsible for crafting “Snow White and the Huntsman”. Here’s the kicker: Sanders has a wife and two kids, though this didn’t stop him from engaging in make-out session with the 22 year-old “Twilight” star. Oh, to be young and rich in Hollywood.

“Kristen is absolutely devastated,” a source told People. “It was a mistake and a complete lapse in judgment.” This anonymous individual also added, “She wasn’t having an affair with Rupert. It was just a fleeting moment that shouldn’t have happened. She never meant to hurt anyone. She’s a good person who just made a bad choice.”

Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but if your “fleeting moment” with a person involves sucking on his or her face when you’re supposed to be with someone else, that’s considered cheating. What’s more, the only people who should be “devastated” by the news is Robert Pattinson and Rupert Sanders’ wife. They are, after all, the victims of Stewart’s inability to keep her hands to herself. Then again, maybe that’s just me being old-fashioned. Or, you know, just plain old.

Of course, all of this could just be a nasty rumor started to folks with nothing better to do with their free time. That’s something one always has to consider when reading articles of this nature. Still, the fact that Stewart would cheat on a person many feel is the hottest guy on the planet is a little baffling, as is her decision to mess around with an older, married man, particularly one who has children. I hope she can get used to the term “home wrecker”, because I’m sure it’s going to be tossed around like mad if this rumor turns out to be true.

How do folks on Twitter feel about Kristen’s infidelity? You can sample their responses, both good and bad, to the story in the space provided below.

  • Robert Pattinson: There Won’t Be A Wedding

Robert Pattinson should be used to making the covers of tabloids by now; after the “Twilight” series cemented his status as the celebrity everyone wants to know about, he’s been the subject of endless fascination and countless speculation, especially once people learned he was in a real-life relationship with onscreen love Kristen Stewart.

But, as he recently told BlackBook Magazine, the marriage rumors are getting out of control and are just not true.

“There was a magazine, with these pictures, saying I was getting married. No one ever knows what is true or what isn’t,” he said. “Even my own mum called to ask me if it was true.”

Pattinson confided to writer Joshua David Stein that the rumors are just that, and that there are no immediate plans for the two to marry, although they’ve been together for three years now, which is like twenty in celebrity years.

The age difference may have a little something to do with it; Pattinson is 26, while Stewart is only 22. And while they seem to be in love, they may feel she’s too young for such a commitment (although that didn’t stop Miley Cyrus and beau Liam Hemsworth from getting engaged).

  • Robert Pattinson Turns 26: Twitter Reacts

Robert Pattinson, “Twilight” alumni and Kristen Stewart’s beau, turned 26 on Sunday. Now, I’m almost positive that everyone reading this article had that date circled on their calendar, so I’m sure this isn’t news to you. Besides, how could anyone possibly get through the day without celebrating the birthday of someone they’ve never met? It’s difficult, I know. I struggle with this issue each and every day of my life.

Pattinson, who just wrapped his last scene for the “Twilight” franchise, partied like he was one of Time Magazine’s most influential people. Tagging along for the festivities was Stewart, who took some time out of her busy schedule promoting her latest flick “Snow White and the Huntsman” to show her man some love. The flick, in case you were wondering, is scheduled to arrive in theaters here in North America on June 1st. Be sure to circle that date, too.

Pattinson, meanwhile, seems anxious to leave his “Twilight” days behind him. Set for release later this year is Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg’s latest cinematic head game “Cosmopolis”, which features the birthday boy as guy who slowly loses his mind over the course of a single day. That sounds pretty awesome if you ask me.

All of his Twitter followers were kind enough to send their (current) favorite heartthrob plenty of birthday wishes, a few of which can be found below. And if you haven’t wished Pattinson happy birthday yourself, then shame on you. What kind of “Twilight” fan are you, anyway?

  • Robert Pattinson to Star in Mission: Black List, Twitter Reacts

Are you of the popular opinion that “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson is a one-trick pony? Well, you might want to reevaluate that stance, as the actor has made some serious career-altering decisions lately. Not only will Pattinson appear in “Videodrome” director David Cronenberg’s “Cosmopolis” — which will probably completely and thoroughly disturb his fan base, I might add — he’s just been cast in Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire’s endeavor “Mission: Black List”.

The film, based on the true story of the man who helped spearhead the mission to capture Saddam Hussein, will find Pattinson portraying military interrogator Eric Maddox, who co-wrote the book on which the movie is based. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ross M. Dinerstein, Erik Jendresen, and Kevin Waller will produce the film, while Embankment Films will handle sales. The group hopes to sell the film at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

Here’s a fairly in-depth synopsis of the book:

Everyone has seen the footage: a heavily bearded Saddam Hussein blinking under the bright lights of infantry cameras, dazed to find himself in U.S. Army custody. Yet while the breaking news was broadcast around the world, the story of the remarkable events leading up to that moment on December 13, 2003, has never before been fully told. Mission: Black List #1 offers the complete, behind-the-scenes account of the search for Saddam Hussein, as related by the Army interrogator whose individual courage and sheer determination made the capture possible.

In July of 2003, Staff Sergeant Eric Maddox was deployed to Baghdad alongside intelligence analysts and fellow interrogators. Their assignment was clear: gather actionable intelligence—leads that could be used to launch raids on High Value Targets within the insurgency. But, as Maddox recounts, hunting for the hidden links in the terrorist network would require bold and untested tactics, and the ability to never lose sight of the target, often hiding in plain sight.

After months of chasing down leads, following hunches, and interrogating literally hundreds of detainees, Sergeant Maddox uncovered crucial details about the insurgency. In his final days in Iraq, he closed in on the dictator’s inner circle and, within hours of his departure from the country, pinpointed the precise location of Saddam’s Tikrit spider hole. Maddox’s candid and compelling narrative reveals the logic behind the unique interrogation process he developed and provides an insider’s look at his psychologically subtle, nonviolent methods. The result is a gripping, moment-by-moment account of the historic mission that brought down Black List #1.

Personally, I think Pattinson’s skills as an actor are currently underrated. I’ve actually enjoyed quite a few of his non-“Twilight” endeavors, particularly “Remember Me”. That’s pretty high praise coming from a guy who will purchase tickets for “The Expendables 2” as soon as they become available to the general population. “Cosmopolis” looks promising, as well, so I’ll be curious to see how he handles more adult roles.

Robert Pattinson portraying a military guy has generated some interesting responses on Twitter. A small selection of these tweets can be found lurking in the space below.

  • David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis Gets A Freaky Full Trailer

The previously-released teaser trailer for director David Cronenberg’s bizarre mind trip “Cosmopolis” showed viewers a side of “Twilight” heartthrob Robert Pattinson they’re probably not used to. The film, which also stars Jay Baruchel, Kevin Durand, Paul Giamatti, Samantha Morton, Sarah Gadon, and Juliette Binoche, looks like the sort of motion picture Cronenberg used to make, you know, before he started boring everyone with “A Dangerous Method”. No offense to those of you out there who actually enjoyed the film, but I couldn’t even make it all the way through. Gradually putting your audience to sleep is never good a thing. In my opinion, anyway.

The full trailer gives us a much longer look at Cronenberg’s dystopian nightmare, a world full of creeps, sexy ladies, oversized lizards, and Robert Pattinson, the latter of whom desperately wants a haircut. I’m not sure why, exactly, he keeps talking about it, but getting a tidy and proper trim must be extremely important to the guy.

In order to help you understand what’s happening in the trailer you see embedded below, it might be a good idea to have a look at this synopsis:

New York City, not-too-distant-future: Eric Packer, a 28 year-old finance golden boy dreaming of living in a civilization ahead of this one, watches a dark shadow cast over the firmament of the Wall Street galaxy, of which he is the uncontested king. As he is chauffeured across midtown Manhattan to get a haircut at his father’s old barber, his anxious eyes are glued to the yuan’s exchange rate: it is mounting against all expectations, destroying Eric’s bet against it. Eric Packer is losing his empire with every tick of the clock. Meanwhile, an eruption of wild activity unfolds in the city’s streets. Petrified as the threats of the real world infringe upon his cloud of virtual convictions, his paranoia intensifies during the course of his 24-hour cross-town odyssey. Packer starts to piece together clues that lead him to a most terrifying secret: his imminent assassination.

If you’re not the sort of individual who enjoys a good cerebral motion picture that contains sex, violence, and a host of bizarro imagery, then you might want to sit this one out. Because, you know, things look a little freaky. Although a proper release date has not been set as of this writing, “Cosmopolis” is expect to arrive sometime this year. The trailer, as well as some amusing Twitter reactions, reside in the space below.
