  • Mila Kunis To Partner With Rob Zombie On New Show

Mila Kunis has managed to maintain a successful career while picking and choosing the roles she wants, and while some of her choices have been surprising, they always work for her. From providing the voice of Meg on Family Guy to training for months as a ballerina for Black Swan, Kunis knows a good role when she sees one, and now she’s got her sights set on a project with spooky rocker/horror director Rob Zombie.

According to Starz, Mila and Zombie will be bringing a horror/comedy series their way called Trapped, which “takes place over a single night in the home of a wealthy family under attack by a murderous cult”, according to a press release.

“We’re excited to work in partnership with Rob Zombie as well as Mila Kunis and her Orchard Farm Productions associates Susan Curtis, Cami Curtis and Lisa Sterbakov on this horror-comedy series,” Carmi Zlotnik of Starz said in a statement.

No casting details or start date have been released, but fans of Zombie’s films can probably expect at least a modicum of gore and silly humor.

The show will be produced by Kunis’ Orchard Farms company, which also produced Black Swan, Ted, and Jupiter Ascending. This isn’t Mila’s first foray into horror; she’s also lending her voice to an animated feature called Hell And Back, reportedly due out next year. Zombie, meanwhile, has given us House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, two Halloween remakes, and the upcoming 31, a film about a deranged clown.

Mila Kunis made headlines earlier this week when she and husband Ashton Kutcher were the topic of conversation during an interview between Jon Cryer and Us Magazine. Cryer, who worked with Kutcher on Two And A Half Men, says they are a happy couple who remind him of an onscreen duo.

“They really complete each other. It’s the old Jerry Maguire thing. It’s a total cliche, but in their case it just happens to be true. She really grounds him. He’s always got something cooking, but he loves coming back to her, coming home to her,” Cryer said of Mila Kunis.

  • John Wayne Gacy Attraction Will Likely Draw Backlash

John Wayne Gacy is a name synonymous with horror, which is why Rob Zombie included him in his Villa Park, Chicago haunted house. But that part of the attraction will likely draw the ire of some, and Zombie is prepared for it.

The Great American Nightmare debuted in California, and this year will run in Villa Park and Arizona with attractions based on his films and real serial killers who haunt and terrify guests. The Gacy room features a man in a clown suit who blows up balloons as two dolls dressed as Boy Scouts look on from the couch.

“The Gacy room is funny. Last year what it was was these little dead kids lying around and John Wayne Gacy is sitting in the chair folding balloon animals for you. … There probably will be (backlash). There was last year in California. They didn’t like the Manson one because that was a California issue. … This is the home of all serial killers — the Midwest. So they’ll hate everything, I guess,” Zombie said.

Residents from the area aren’t happy about the Gacy room, including Jennifer Bishop-Jenkins, founder of Illinoisvictim.org. As an advocate for the victims of violent crimes, she says she was shocked by the attraction.

“This is a really thoughtless, exploitive thing to do. They’re clearly only interested in money. There were real families whose children were brutally murdered who are still alive and living in the Chicago area right now. And I cannot even imagine how troubling this must be to see this killer used as entertainment,” Bishop-Jenkins told MyFoxChicago.com.

The Villa Park location will be open through November 1.
