  • Taylor Swift Cancels Thailand Concert After Coup

Country-pop superstar Taylor Swift has cancelled her sold-out concert in the politically turbulent Thailand.

The concert, which was scheduled for the night of June 9, was confirmed as being cancelled by the concert promoter BEC-Tero Entertainment. On their website they cited the reason for the cancellation as being “due to recent events in Thailand.” The statement continued by saying that it was a difficult decision for all parties involved.

“Due to recent events in Thailand, Taylor Swift’s concert in Bangkok scheduled for Monday June 9, 2014 has been cancelled,” the statement read. “This has been a difficult decision for all parties. Taylor, AEG, BEC Tero and 13 Management all express regret and sincere apologies to the fans in Thailand.”

“Ticket holders are able to refund their tickets for this special event at all ThaiTicketMajor branches during normal business hours from Thursday 29th May 2014 at 10.00 hrs. until Monday 30th June 2014,” the statement continued. “For further information, please contact Thaiticketmajor call center at 02 262 3838. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”

Thailand came under military rule last week after a coup d’état. The military has suspended television broadcasting from international networks in Thailand, and they have issued a 10 p.m. curfew and ban on street gatherings. This comes after months of street protests and political instability.

Swift was due to tour the region as part of her Red Tour in the coming weeks. Aside from Thailand, Swift is scheduled to perform in Shanghai, Tokyo, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.

“I’m sending my love to the fans in Thailand,” Swift wrote in a Twitter post earlier today. “I’m so sad about the concert being canceled.”

  • Taylor Swift Cuts Off Signature Long Locks [PHOTO]

When it comes to a celebrity’s clothes or hairstyle, there are tons of people around the world that either pay close attention or decide to mimic whatever style that person is using. I mean, remember the whole Jennifer Aniston haircut thing in the 90’s? It seemed that women form coast-to-coast wanted that particular hairstyle called the “Rachel.”

And in 2014, nothing has changed, because if a singer or actor, for example, cuts their hair and goes with a new look, there’s a good chance that look will be imitated to the tenth-degree, as some folks don’t really care about having a style of their own–they just want to attach themselves to the latest trend.

So it’ll be interesting to see if Taylor Swift’s new haircut will cause people to head to their hairdresser and change their look.

Because while on the European leg of her Red Tour, the 24-year old chopped off her famous long locks for a much shorter look, and replaced the blonde dye for a reddish-brown color. Taylor posted a photo of her new do standing next to fellow pop star Ellie Goulding, who’s become huge in the UK off of her new single “Burn.”

“London, I could never thank you enough,” wrote Taylor alongside the photo. “See you next time! PS: Short hair, don’t care.”

When it comes to giving others fashion advice, Swift says the best thing to do is keep it simple and try not to follow too many trends. That way, you won’t see a photo of yourself years from now and say ‘what on earth was I thinking.’

“I think the best option for what to wear is something that won’t make you cringe in 20 years, like passing trends,” she said in an interview with Yahoo.

“When everybody’s wearing neon, I’m not. When everybody’s got spikes on everything, I’m not doing that. When everybody’s trying to look tough, I’m not. When you ignore fads and just wear what you like that’s classic and simple, I think that’s the way to go for longevity as far as style is concerned.”

  • Fan Rushes Stage at Taylor Swift Concert

We all know that country super star, Taylor Swift is quite the popular little lady, selling out tours like it’s nobody’s business. And did I mention her fanbase is a tad obsessed? Well they are.

It turns out there’s one particular fan who took his obsession for the 24-year-old blonde star a little too far at her latest tour stop in London.

Saturday, Feb. 1 Swift was finishing up singing hit, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” during her show at the O2 Arena in London when an over zealous fan rushed the stage.

Eager to meet Swift, the male fan ran to Swift handing her something right before immediately getting carried away by security. Swift didn’t seem too bothered by the act, continuing to not only smile but sing.

She even tweeted after the show to fellow-musician and tour buddy, Ed Sheeran.

The show in London was the first of the tour’s four performances at that specific arena. Swift will be back at it on Tuesday, Feb. 4, Monday, February 10 and Tuesday, Feb. 11.

  • Taylor Swift Makes Touring Records

We just heard about pop diva, P!nk’s tour success (her recent tour stop of Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena marked the 18th sold out performance) but is she the only one breaking records this week?

    Nope.

Leave it to genre bouncing musician, America’s sweetheart, Miss Taylor Swift to also come out on top.

Known for her country prowess, Swift lands among the other top-grossing touring artists in a comfortable No. 3 spot. Her claimed spot is all thanks to the mile-high ticket sales from the last four arenas on the North American part of her Red tour.

The final three-night stand concerts took place in the heart of where country music resides, Nashville, TN. With sold out crowds at Nashville’s downtown Bridgestone Arena on Sept. 19-21, Swift’s tour was blazing hot. (It did help that Euro cutie with an acoustic guitar, Ed Sheeran, was there performing as an opening act.)

The country superstar performed everything that weekend from “22” to “I Knew You were Trouble.” She also performed her song, “Everything has Changed,” her duet with Sheeran.

Here’s a peak at the duo singing at one of her many tour stops on the Red tour.

The overall grosses from the tour currently resides at $115.3 million. Since starting the tour in March, the “Red hot” tour has had attendance at 1.3 million from an astonishing 66 sold out shows.

The tour will resume the final weekend of November with a five-city run all the way through markets in New Zealand and Australia.

You better grab your tickets now because the tour ends on Dec. 14. (Since these are hot tickets, your best bet is to check with the individual box offices the day of the concert.)

  • Taylor Swift Brings Out Surprise Duet Guest

Taylor Swift is country music’s “it girl” and seemingly making her way around to each genre. She’s collaborated with tons of big names in the music industry (spanning genres mind you) from guitarist, John Mayer to the “You’re So Vain,” Carly Simon. And recently on her, “Red” tour, the country superstar has been pulling out all the stops, surprising audiences with guest treats.

But last night at the Staple Center in Los Angeles, the sensational Swift did it again, rocking out at her concert and giving her energetically, eager audience a little something extra to scream about.

“We have a wonderful, incredible, insanely talented, incredibly cool artist about to come out on stage to sing for you,” Taylor teased. “She’s not from around here. She’s actually from the U.K.,” said Swift before the English star appeared at the top of a large staircase with a blown up picture of her lit up on the screen directly behind her.

The Staples Center went absolutely wild, surely booming with hopeful anticipation that the hit song that’s ventured it’s way to nearly every commercial and radio station would boom from the lips of Ellie Goulding.

Sure enough, “Anything Could Happen” was the chosen song. Goulding started with the first chorus while Swift followed with the second. Swift was beaming with “fan girl” enthusiasm as her slender arm draped happily over Goulding’s shoulder. Swift then instantly flipped on more of her stage charm, beaming with confidence as she shook her hips from side to side with the beat of the song.

Apparently both parties had a ball performing last night, because Goulding Instagrammed a photo of her and Swift’s performance with the caption, “So.much.fun. Love that girl.
