  • Andrea Tantaros Dating Former Red Hot Chili Peppers Rocker Dave Navarro

Andrea Tantaros and Dave Navarro are a most unlikely couple, but sources have confirmed to Us Weekly that they are most certainly dating.

Dave Navarro is a guitarist for the band Jane’s Addiction. He is probably best known, however, as a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, as well as for hosting the tattoo competition show Inkmasters. Andrea Tantaros works for Fox News on two of their shows–Outnumbered and The Five. She regularly appears on the Fox Business Channel and writes weekly columns for both the New York Daily News and Newsmax.

The conservative political analyst and the rocker with the many tattoos were introduced by a mutual friend.

Back in January, Dave Navarro shared his love for Andrea Tantaros via social media, raising the eyebrows of anyone aware of their distinct differences.

“Even though they seem like opposites, they have a lot in common. They both have a wicked sense of humor and share a love of politics and dark eyeliner,” a source tells Us Weekly.

Andrea Tantaros and Dave Navarro were most recently spotted together in New York City–sharing some PDA–where he is presently filming the seventh season of Inkmasters.

What’s your take on this most unusual relationship? Do you see a future for Andrea Tantaros and Dave Navarro or is this simply a testing of the waters or a temporary fling?

  • Will Ferrell Impresses in Drum-Off Against Chad Smith on ‘Tonight’

If you just happened to flip over to The Tonight Show on Thursday, you may have thought you were seeing double at first as lookalikes Will Ferrell and Chad Smith, the drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, appeared on the show to compete in a drum battle. The drum-off came after an exchange between Ferrell and Smith on Reddit and Instagram back in February.

The back story to the drum-off between Will Ferrell and Chad Smith is nearly as entertaining as the battle itself. Ferrell fans have often commented on how much Smith looks like the funny man, which Ferrell addressed earlier this year. “A lot of people think that it’s me playing for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. But that would be an insult to Chad Smith. The truth of the matter is there is no Will Ferrell. Only Chad Smith,” Ferrell said on Reddit.

Smith responded to Ferrell’s comments with an Instagram video and jokingly challenged Ferrell to a drum-off. “I’ve seen your skills,” Smith says in the video. “You don’t got ’em.” Check out the challenge video below.

After viewing the Instagram video, Will Ferrell accepted the challenge on Reddit. “Hi, Chad. Will Ferrell here. I saw your video and I graciously accept your invitation to a drum battle,” Ferrell said. “If we can raise $300,000 for Cancer For College I will face off with you in the greatest drum vs. cowbell showdown the world has ever seen. We can do it on stage at a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert or in front of a mutually convenient public library. Your call.”

The showdown finally took place on Thursday on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Smith and Ferrell dressed just alike on the show, and at first glance, it really is hard to tell the two apart.

Check out the full video of the battle and see who won below–in case you’re expecting Ferrell to repeat his drum performance from Step Brothers, think again.

The winner of the drum battle? Will Ferrell, and the icing on the cake was the Red Hot Chili Peppers performing at the end, with Ferrell on the cowbell. Now that you’ve watched one of the most entertaining drum battles you will see this decade, enjoy a clip of Ferrell playing the drums a tad bit differently on Step Brothers.

  • Axl Rose Disses the Red Hot Chili Peppers

Axl Rose Disses the Red Hot Chili Peppers

By now most people have probably heard that the Red Hot Chili Peppers didn’t really play their instruments during their performance at this year’s Super Bowl. The group’s bass player Flea made the admission on the band’s website a few days ago.

So it was only a matter of time before people in the music world chimed in, to either show support for the Chili Peppers or to speak negatively about them and talk a little trash.

Apparently, former Guns N’ Roses front man Axl Rose has taken the opportunity to talk trash and he did it in an op-ed piece and through his Twitter account.

In the op-ed piece Rose criticized the band a little, and used a bit of sarcasm to do it. “Consider that maybe sometime before their actual performance that rather than use a guitar cord or standard wireless, that in the name of science and for all mankind, Flea courageously had a newly invented breakthrough in microchip technology installed in his ass that picked up the frequencies of his bass and transmitted them to his amplifier,” wrote Rose.

The “November Rain” singer also called the Red Hot Chili Peppers a karaoke band. “If the band wasn’t really playing or wireless or whatever and Anthony was really singing, they may have set a new world record for the largest karaoke audience ever!”

Within 24-hours after the Super Bowl, Flea took to the band’s website and said they had no choice but to mime their performance, because the NFL didn’t want to risk bad sound or some sort of technical issue.

The band has done the same thing before on a TV show, Flea said, but not since the 80s. “The Red Hot Chili Peppers stance on any sort of miming has been that we will absolutely not do it,” he wrote. “The last time we did it, or tried to, was in the late 80s. We were thrown off of ‘The Top of The Pops’ television program in the UK during rehearsals because we refused to mime properly. I played bass with my shoe.”

  • Bruno Mars Jumps High On Charts

Bruno Mars Jumps High On Charts

Bruno Mars absolutely killed it during his Super Bowl performance. The halftime show rocked and everyone seemed to think so since it was the most watched halftime show ever.

Mars’ second album, “Unorthodox Jukebox,” went from No. 18 to No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart with 42,000 — up 180%, according to Nielsen SoundScan. But that’s not all for Mr. Mars. His first album, “Doo-Wops & Hooligans,” jumps from No. 82 to No. 19 with 16,000 (up 303%).

    Pretty crazy, huh?

The impact of Mars’ playing at this Sunday’s Super Bowl has done something for him that’s never happened to previous performers. Traditionally, the halftime performer has a much larger catalog of music to select from. Mars’ only had two albums to choose from.

So what exactly does that mean for the “Just The Way You Are” singer? Since he only has two albums worth of music, his sales are highlighted and spread across a smaller amount of music-generating even more attention to his small catalog.

While the Queen Bey nailed her performance last year, she didn’t have a current album riding high on the charts at the time like Mars did.

  • 2014 Super Bowl Halftime Show Recap

2014 Super Bowl Halftime Show Recap

The Super Bowl has come and gone and the halftime show was an absolute hit. Not only did Bruno Mars kill it, the Red Hot Chili Peppers added a little extra spice (no pun intended) to the entertaining show.

The show started as the stadium’s lights shut off in a trickling effect. The second the lights were out, the audience erupted with hyped-up applause. Mars was sitting in the middle of the field on a moving stand playing the drums. It was the perfect buildup to an already anticipated show.

The singer slowly met the stage and began into the first number of the performance. His gold sequined jacket lit the stage perfectly as he slid smoothly across it along with his backup dancers. They continued to move in unison as he pumped the audience up even more.

It was a fast-paced performance that was high energy and loads of fun-complete with the splits courtesy of Mars.

As Mars continued to sing, he seamlessly threw in some Red Hot Chili Peppers lyrics informally welcoming the band to the stage. The Chili Peppers soared up through the stage like a bunch of bandits ready to cause havoc.

Bare-chested the boys took over the stage like a bunch of wild pirates ready to party. Unfortunately the length of their stay was limited to one song.

Closing the performance, Mars went into “Just The Way You Are” introduced by a video tribute from soldiers to their loved ones. The song ended with Mars singing the ballad with strength and intensity as fireworks exploded in the background.

  • We Sure Hope This Red Hot Chili Peppers Fan Likes Bagpipes

We Sure Hope This Red Hot Chili Peppers Fan Likes Bagpipes

Buying concert tickets online is always a scary proposition. Sure, most of the time it works out – most people out there are honest, right? But sometimes you’re left with a pair of tickets to see The Beagles. What, you thought the The Beatles were still touring? Hey buddy, that’s your fault.

Name confusion is less likely to blame then simple fraud in this case. A redditor claims that his friend ordered two tickets to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers, only to receive tickets to see the “Red Hot Chilli Pipers” instead. “My friend paid $228 for two Red Hot Chili Peppers tickets, and got this in the mail…” they say. Is it a case of a simple misprint?

As it turns out, it’s no misprint. The Red Hot Chilli Pipers are a real band – and a rather successful one at that.

“Bagpipes with attitude. Drums with a Scottish accent. A blazing rock band and a show so hot it carries its own health warning. The Red Hot Chilli Pipers have been rocking the world from New York to Beijing with musicianship of the highest order and a passion for pipes that will leave you breathless,” reads the band’s site.

The band, which was formed in 2002, is named after the more famous band of similar chili hotness – but they aren’t specifically a RCHP cover band. In fact, the Pipers are known for their bagpipe-heavy renditions of classic songs from the likes of Queen, Coldplay, Journey, and more. They’ve released 5 albums to date.

“She paid for the peppers, unfortunately. I thought it was her own stupidity at first, but turns out the seller just scammed her.” says the redditor.

But maybe it was OP’s friend’s sheer stupidity. The only tour dates on the RHCP’s current schedule are giant festival shows.

Or maybe it’s all one big ad for the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. If so, we’ll change the angle of this story to “bagpipin’ cover band masters the reddit marketing machine.”

  • Neil Young & Red Hot Chili Peppers Play Benefit

67-year-old Neil Young is set to perform with at a benefit concert for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music that Flea and Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers will host.

The exciting event will take place Wednesday, Oct. 30 in Silverlake, CA. Not only will the celebrated Young perform, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will also grace the stage.

The Silverlake Conservatory of Music was founded by Flea in 2001. It facilitates music education as well as offers music lessons and scholarships.

A silent auction will take place and will feature donations from Pearl Jam, Gucci and others. The event costs $2,000 per guest, and a 10-seat table is $25,000.

Very pricey, yes, but it seems that it will be an evening you can’t miss. Plus, it’s for a good cause!

  • Red Hot Chili Peppers Dance, President Obama’s Ship, & Auroras

A viral video is one that becomes popular through the process of Internet sharing, via social media, sharing sites, or good ‘ole email. Everyday we highlight some of the best that are currently viral and some that are trending that way.

Today’s videos feature an amazing aurora video, a video game ad featuring floating apples, Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Hey Jude cover, and the best political ad ever.

Sometimes all a good music video needs is someone playing the drums on a toilet, and everyone dancing. Don’t try this unless you’re the RHCP.

This political ad looks like a skit that belongs on Cartoon Network. Not sure if that should make you want to vote for him or not. Either way, it’s hilarious.

The game will involve gravity physics, and what better way to show this than floating apples going crazy.

I don’t know about you, but it’s one of the better Hey Jude covers I’ve heard. But most I’ve heard have been done at a karaoke bar.

So, what has Megaupload’s founder been up to since the court proceedings? Shaking maracas in Hong Kong.

Auroras have to be the greatest bunch of weird that nature has created.

Justin Long must be bored these days.

Did someone hit someone with a pool que KG? Because it’s not really a bar fight unless that happens, as movies have taught all of us.

Demi was 19, and the kid was 15. Some things never change.

Say goodbye to Jimmy Fallon’s record, and say hello to a new one. What record is that? How much money was spent to hunt older consoles down on eBay. Not really.
