  • 50 Cent’s Baby Mama Did Not Invite Him To His Son’s High School Graduation

50 Cent’s Baby Mama Did Not Invite Him To His Son’s High School Graduation

There have been rumors floating around that rapper 50 Cent abandoned his son during his high school graduation. In a statement released by his PR people, however, 50 Cent said that the mother of his son did not let him know when the graduation would take place.

Sources close to the rapper told TMZ that 50 Cent was disappointed and hurt when he saw pictures of his son, Marquise Jackson, on Facebook wearing his graduation robes and hugging his mother.

His son also wrote “Yea I broke down. I was really excited to see my pops at my graduation but he never showed up. smh. My sister and mama is always there for me just know that you wasn’t. I did it without you.”

Marquise graduated from a private school located in Atlanta. Reports say that at the time of his son’s graduation, 50 Cent was in Budapest.

The rapper recently appeared on BET’s 106 & Park to promote his fifth album entitled “Animal Ambition.” During his appearance, he took time to answer questions about missing his son’s graduation. “I haven’t received an invitation. When he graduated I was in Budapest on a movie with Melissa McCarthy, Jude Law, and Jason Statham.”

    50 Cent talks about missing son’s graduation on BET’s 106 & Park

He continued to say that the reason why his personal life is out in the open is because Marquise’s mother went to TMZ. “I wish she’d find someone so she could leave me alone,” he said.

50 Cent, born Curtis James Jackson III, is a father of two. He has a younger son from a different relationship. The 38-year-old rapper blames the mother of Marquis, Shaniqua Tompkins, for his strained relationship with his eldest son.

In an interview with MTV last year, the rapper said that his son has a fear for him. “Cause it’s like, his mother will traditionally say, ‘You wait ‘til your father finds out’,” he said. He also talked about being a strict father, as he always reminds Marquise to take care of his mother and not give her headaches.

  • Pitbull Sues Spirits Company Over Vodka Recipe

Pitbull is suing the E. & J. Winery & New Amsterdam Spirits Company for naming their new vodka recipe the ‘Pit Bull.’ The rapper trademarked his name back in 2000 and alleges that the company has been using his trademark in their efforts to promote the alcoholic beverage. The drink is made up of 2 parts New Amsterdam vodka, 1/2 part lime juice, 1/2 part grapefruit juice, and parts lemon/lime soda.

Pitbull endorses Voli vodka, which is featured both in his music video Give Me Everything and in the lyrics of his song Rain Over Me.

“[Voli] gave me a great opportunity to be an owner of a brand that I really believed in,” he told the Los Angeles Times when he first became involved with the brand. “That’s why I got involved with Voli. It’s in a market where it’s needed and everybody wants it.”

The rapper is now demanding that the E. & J. Winery & New Amsterdam Spirits Company provides him with compensation for their earnings made from the Pit Bull. He also wants them to stop using the name immediately.

A couple of months ago Pitbull’s Voli brand was targeted in a lawsuit over a young man’s death at the scene of one of their promotional events. A boat featuring the Voli logo ran aground, prompting the captain to ask for help from the promo attendees. One of them got too close to the engine and was killed at the event.

Pitbull’s Voli brand is a low-calorie fruit-flavored vodka line–not completely unlike the Pit Bull the defendant’s company was serving.

In happier news, Pitbull appeared at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night where he performed his new song We Are One. The song debuted on Friday.

Do you think the rapper will win his lawsuit or will lawyers argue that he doesn’t hold a trademark for the different spelling of his name?

  • Gucci Mane Pleads Guilty To Firearms Charge, Will Serve 39 Months In Prison

Gucci Mane, born Radric Davis, pleaded guilty to a federal firearms charge in Atlanta on Tuesday and will serve time in prison for 39 months.

The 34-year-old rapper stated his plea after coming to an agreement with prosecutors. His charge carries a fine of up to $250,000 and a maximum of 10 years in prison, but his deal only requires him to serve a little over 3 years. He is due to appear in court on July 28 for his sentencing.

On September 12, 2013, Davis was found in possession of a firearm. He was a felon at that time. Just two days later, a firearm that was different from the one he was carrying 2 days prior, was again found in his possession. On both days, Davis acted erratically while displaying his loaded firearms and threatening his attorney and the police.

In 2012, he was arrested for using a champagne bottle to hit a man on the head at a nightclub in Atlanta. Prior to that, he has also been arrested for violating traffic regulations. In 2005, Davis was charged with murder, but the case was dropped due to the lack of evidence.

Although he was found in possession of firearms twice, reports say that the guilty plea was only for the September 14 incident where he was carrying a loaded .40-caliber Glock handgun and a bag of marijuana. An ambulance was called to the scene and the rapper was sedated before he was brought to the hospital for treatment.

On Tuesday, Aladino Ortiz from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives said that Davis “shows a complete and utter disregard for the lives of others as well as for their personal pursuits.”

According to Drew Findling, Davis’ lawyer, the rapper is doing physically and mentally well and is ready to get back to his career in music.

“The most important thing that took place today is that he accepted responsibility and is ready to move on,” Findling said.

  • Flavor Flav Enters Guilty Plea To Domestic Violence Charges

Rapper and reality TV star, Flavor Flav, pleaded guilty to a domestic violence charge in Las Vegas. The 55-year-old was sentenced to counseling and probation.

Flavor Flav, whose real name is William Jonathan Drayton Jr., admitted to pulling a knife on the son of his longtime girlfriend in 2012. According to the teen’s testimony, Drayton made threats to kill him and chased him into a bedroom. The rapper then stabbed the knife through a door.

Since the event, the family has been going through counseling sessions and has talked through their differences.

Drayton was facing charges that could have had him spend 12 years in prison. His guilty plea resulted in reduced charges. He was also given due credit for spending time in jail after he was arrested, said Tess Driver, the spokeswoman for the Nevada district attorney.

“I love my son and my son loves me, too,” the rapper said in court.

Both Drayton’s girlfriend and her son, who is now 18-years-old, were not present in court.

Drayton is also facing another case for driving without a license and speeding in New York while he was on his way to his mother’s funeral. He was arrested on January 9. Defense attorney Kristina Wildeveld said that the rapper is in the process of resolving that case by paying fines.

“I’m standing here in front of the camera, not behind bars,” Drayton said in front of the cameras after exiting the courthouse.

According to the judge, Drayton could spend a year in county jail if he ever violates the agreement in the domestic violence case. He will be appearing in court on August 18 when he completes his counseling sessions.

Drayton has been touring with the group Public Enemy since he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year.

  • Ice Cube Says He Was “Robbed” After Losing Award To Vin Diesel And Paul Walker

Ice Cube expressed his feelings towards not winning the “Best On-Screen Duo” award at the MTV Movie Awards held on Sunday. “We was robbed,” he said on USA Today.

The award went to Vin Diesel and Paul Walker for their tandem on the Fast and Furious movies. Ice Cube was nominated, along with his co-star Kevin Hart for the movie Ride Along. In the film, Ice Cube plays a detective who has to work with Hart, a security guard and his potential brother-in-law, in taking down a crime boss.

Ice Cube also said that he and Hart had the best on-screen chemistry out of everyone. “For us not to win was crazy.” The issue started when Ice Cube said that the award was only given to Diesel and Walker as a sympathy vote by the fans. He said that MTV should have given the award to Walker “before he passed away.”

On Monday, he tweeted that he was not mad that they didn’t win, and that it was all just a hype. “I would never diss the actors who won. Not even Paul Walker. Seriously people!” said the tweet.

Ice Cube also expressed his disappointment in the MTV Movie Awards in general. The rapper turned actor said that he left the ceremony shortly after arriving. He was not even there to see the tribute to Walker. “I just wasn’t into it,” he said. Ice Cube explained that he has been going to these award shows for 25 years and that he doesn’t need to torture himself if he is not into it. “As soon as you get bored, get up and leave.”

Ice Cube’s movie, Ride Along, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on Tuesday.

  • ‘Draft Day’: Drake’s Still The Man Five Years Later

No, it wasn’t just some April Fool’s joke—Drake’s new song “Draft Day” is the real thing. In the single, the Canadian rapper shows off his knowledge of pop culture and current events, even though he claims he doesn’t read the news because “it’s garbage.” He also name drops a variety of celebrities, including Jennifer Lawrence: “I mean for real, girl you know I had to do it for yah.” Sweet.

The song pays homage to Texas A&M star quarterback Johnny Manziel, whom Drake mentions in the first line. The title, of course, is a dead giveaway: the player just had his pro day workout, during which some loud hip-hop tracks by none other than Drake were played, to the disapproval of some folks. Drake’s music isn’t known for its G-rating, and the new track exhibits the same NSFW language many rappers seem to live by.

Could the new song be Drake’s way of thanking the football player for the added publicity? Perhaps, but few are aware that the two are also fast friends. Drake was one of the people the quarterback was seen hanging out with during his controversial 2012 offseason.

Manziel’s party-filled lifestyle has caught the attention of NFL teams and he has been criticized time and again for his lifestyle. Drake’s shoutout to him on “Draft Day” may just cause another uproar—or amusement. According to CBS Sports, Manziel had nothing to do with the actual production of the song.

Aside from his buddy Manziel, “Draft Day” also mentions basketball prodigy Andrew Wiggins (as “A. Wiggins”), who had announced Monday that he would be entering this year’s NBA draft. The other sports personalities that made it to the song (not in a good way, however) are former MLB slugger Jose Canseco and the Oakland A’s.

Drake also raps that if he had left things to chance he would have “picked a name like Chance the Rapper” (no offense, Chance, but Drake says he doesn’t really know you). According to Drake, he is “focused on making records and gettin’ bigger—just hits, no misses, that’s for the married folks.” While there’s plenty of married folks out there who may be offended, relax. The rapper may just be taking a shot at his fellow contemporaries—Jay-Z or Kanye, perhaps?

Here’s something that’s nice to know: if this were the Hunger Games, Drake says “I would die for my district.” What say you, Katniss?

  • Rapper Benzino Shot By Nephew; Gai Scott Claims He Acted In Self-Defence

Rapper and reality TV star Benzino was en route to his mother’s funeral when his nephew allegedly opened fire at him from another car. According to the police and Benzino’s own Hip-Hop Weekly magazine, the violent encounter happened along a Massachusetts highway on Saturday.

In a statement released by the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, the 48-year-old record producer was driving a red SUV on Boston’s Route 3 before noon, when his 36-year-old nephew named Gai Scott pulled up next to Benzino’s vehicle and fired 7 to 8 shots. Benzino was headed for his mother, Mary A. Scott’s funeral Mass at St. Peter’s Church in Plymouth at the time of the shooting.

Authorities say that the two family members are involved in a long-standing feud, despite Benzino’s claim that he has no idea why his nephew shot him.

Hip-Hop Weekly reported that Benzino was hit on one arm and his back was grazed by one of the bullets. The magazine’s website featured photos of Benzino lying in his hospital bed and showing his bandaged left arm in a sling.

After the shooting, Benzino – whose real name is Raymond Scott – got out of his vehicle and was brought to the Duxbury Police Department, after which he was admitted to SouthShoreHospital in South Weymouth. A representative of the hospital reported on Sunday that Benzino was in good condition.

Police officers who responded to the scene spotted Benzino’s bullet hole-ridden red SUV in the middle of Route 3, and noticed a reddish substance that resembled blood inside the vehicle. Authorities added that they also found several shell casings and projectiles at the scene of the crime.

Gai Scott was taken into police custody and slapped with assault charges with intent to murder. His arraignment is scheduled on Monday in the Plymouth District Court. Gai’s attorney Jon Ciraulo has entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf, and has also stated that his client’s shooting was an act of self-defense.

Benzino has been discharged from the hospital, but the media has yet to get his comments regarding the assertions by his nephew’s camp. However, the elder Scott’s long-time attorney Martin K. Leppo responded on Benzino’s behalf by saying that the events that took place on the highway “doesn’t sound like self-defense” to him.

A Boston native, Benzino is well known for his role in the reality television series, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta as Karlie Redd’s on-and-off boyfriend. He is also a former co-owner of the hip-hop magazine The Source, and a founding member of the American rap group Made Men.

  • Benzino Shooting: Nephew Pleads Not Guilty

Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta reality star Benzino-whose real name is Raymond Scott-is still recovering following gun shot wounds he sustained at his mother’s funeral procession Saturday.

As previously reported, Benzino’s nephew, 36-year-old Gia Scott, shot the former rapper while on Route 3 South in Duxbury, Mass.

Benzino said that he was on his way to Plymouth to pick up fellow reality co-star Stevie J when the shooting occurred.

Investigators say that Scott pulled his Bentley next to his uncle’s Red Dodge SUV and apparently shot seven to eight rounds-in which only two struck Benzino.

Benzino, 48, was rushed to South Shore Hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the arm. He was eventually declared to be in stable condition.

The Boston-native and current CEO of Hip-Hop Weekly magazine was released from the hospital Monday.

Benzino had privately paid his respects to his mother at a funeral home and “decided to skip the procession and funeral because of tensions in the family over money.”

He told TMZ during a phone interview that he’s unsure as to why his own nephew would want to harm him, but that there were persistent disputes within the family.

When asked if it was in connection to the mortgage surrounding his mother’s home, he obliquely states that it most likely had something to do with money issues.

    View the interview here:

Scott, who was charged with armed assault with intent to murder, pleaded not guilty in Plymouth District Court Monday and additionally claimed that he was acting in self-defense.

“When the dust settles with respect to this case, it’s going to be abundantly clear that Mr. Scott, a licensed gun owner, was acting in self-defense and in defense of his family,” said Scott’s lawyer Jon Ciraulo.

Scott is currently being held without bail and is scheduled for a hearing Wednesday.

The courts will then determine if he is dangerous to society.

  • Chief Keef: Rapper In Custody Following Shooting Incident In Northfield, Illinois

Chief Keef surely isn’t liking where he is now. The rapper behind “I Don’t Like” is currently in the custody of the Northfield Police department in Chicago. According to reports, he was present during a shooting incident in a home located in Northfield that landed one person in the hospital on the morning of March 26.

According to the Northfield Police department, the incident is still under investigation. The North Regional Major Crimes Task Force has been assigned to do the probing together with the Attorney’s office of the Cook County State. The police believe that the shooting is an isolated case and that “the community is safe.”

The shooting took place in a house along Happ Road that is being rented by Chief Keef’s manager. The road has been closed off due to the ongoing investigation, and only residents are allowed to pass. According to residents, their neighborhood has been getting a lot of traffic problems and noise. Chief Keef’s neighbors said that fans of the rapper will drive by, shout the rapper’s name, and honk their horns.

The shooting victim was taken to the NorthShore Skokie Hospital and is now recovering at the hospital’s intensive care unit.

Chief Keef was one of the passengers in the car that dropped off the victim. The rapper was questioned about his involvement in the shooting incident at the police station on Wednesday. Keef’s lawyer Leah Starkman confirms that her client was present during the incident but was not the shooter, and was not involved at all. According to Starkman, Chief Keef did not even see what happened.

When asked what the relationship between the rapper and the victim was, the lawyer replied that the victim was just an acquaintance.

Viktor Mehta, the property manager of the house, said he received a call from the police informing him about the incident. According to him, the rapper’s manager has been renting the house in Northfield for almost a year, and that the manager is behind on his rent. The manager told Mehta that this was because his client was in rehab.

Chief Keef was released from a drug rehabilitation center recently.

  • Ray Jasper, Aspiring Rapper, Executed In Texas

Former San Antonio rap artist Ray Jasper was executed by the state of Texas on Wednesday for a murder that took place 16 years ago. In 1998, Jasper was convicted of robbing and killing studio owner David Alejandro. Up until the moment he received his pentobarbital shot, Jasper maintained his innocence. He was pronounced dead at exactly 6:31 p.m., moments after he delivered his final statement.

Before the execution, Jasper wrote a letter addressed to his family asking them to look after one another, have faith in God, and “stay strong”. He also told his daughter that he loved her and advised her to be strong and positive so that she may “have a great life”. Jasper expressed his gratitude to his supporters, after which he prayed to God that he might see his “spirit”.

Neither Jasper nor Alejandro’s family were present to witness the execution. The victim’s family reportedly chose to spend time together in San Antonio instead.

Jasper was 18 years old at the time of the crime, which he committed with two other individuals named Steve Russell and Douglas Williams. The three men had scheduled a recording session with Alejandro, but instead attacked the victim and stole his expensive equipment. While Jasper acknowledged slitting Alejandro’s throat, he insisted that the real cause of death was a fatal stab delivered by accomplice Steven Russell. The two cohorts were sentenced to life imprisonment and are currently serving time.

Jasper became the third Texas inmate to be executed this year. Texas, which is the most active enforcer of the death penalty in the United States, is executing another prisoner next week before it starts using a new batch of pentobarbital obtained from a different supplier. Thirty minutes before Jasper was brought to the death chamber, the Supreme Court rejected an argument that Jasper lawyers made, claiming that a black potential juror was disqualified from participating in Jasper’s San Antonio trial in 2000.

  • Rapper Lil’ Boosie Released From Prison

Torrance Hatch, more commonly known as Lil Boosie, was released from Louisiana State Penitentiary on Wednesday night. A press conference is scheduled on March 10.

The schedule for the Baton Rouge rapper’s release was slated for May, but Lil Boose was able to complete his self-help program on Wednesday afternoon, which earned him credits that made him eligible to be released earlier than expected. Not even the rapper knew that he was going to be released from prison that night.

Lil Boosie, 31, was serving his 8-year sentence on drug charges. He was imprisoned when he pleaded guilty to his third offense of marijuana possession and for smuggling contraband into the Louisiana State Penitentiary and the Dixon Correctional Institute. He also faced a first-degree murder charge for killing Terry Boyd, but was acquitted.

Shortly after arriving in prison, the rapper was quick to violate rules but eventually came around and started joining rehabilitation programs to better himself. Sources say that he would have gotten out even earlier if he hadn’t violated rules during his stay.

In the state penitentiary, Lil Boosie was able to complete a religion-based program, a substance abuse program, and was able to get his GED certificate on March 9, 2013. Upon acquiring his certificate, the rapper said that he wished his grandmother were there to witness his achievement.

After being released from prison, a van took Hatch to the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office where family and friends greeted him and took him home to New Orleans. He must also report to a parole officer on Thursday, as he is freed on the condition of supervised parole, which is said to last until 2018. His parole restrictions are not publicly known yet but will be clear once he has had a meeting with his parole officer.

There are no other pending charges against Hatch, but he is scheduled to appear in court on March 14 in front of Judge Richard Moore.

  • Da Brat Ordered To Pay $6.4 Million For Assaulting Cheerleader

A Cobb County court jury has ordered Grammy-nominated rapper Da Brat to pay $6.4 million in damages to the Atlanta cheerleader she assaulted in 2007. The punishment was meted out on Thursday afternoon.

Da Brat, whose real name is Shawntae Harris, served almost three years in prison for brutally attacking former Atlanta Falcons cheerleader Shayla Stevens with a rum bottle during an argument at an Atlanta nightclub owned by Jermaine Dupri . According to Stevens’ lawyer Mark Link, his client sustained grave injuries that affected her brain’s functions. Although Stevens has survived her brain injury, she has suffered from mental anguish as well as a permanent scar on her face, both of which have prevented her from pursuing her cheerleading career.

Stevens filed a civil lawsuit against the Funkdafied hit maker in 2009 to which Harris pleaded guilty. Apart from serving three years at Arrendale State Prison, Harris was also ordered a seven-year probation period, 200 hours worth of community service, anger management classes, mental evaluation, and treatment for substance abuse. Now, Da Brat must pay Stevens $3.7 million and $2.7 million in compensatory and punitive damages, respectively.

Shayla Stevens, Da Brat’s victim, testifies in court

Harris’ lawyer B.J. Bernstein is surprised that his client was still ordered to pay millions despite that fact that she admitted to the charges and served her time. He said that they are still in the process of planning an appeal.

The 39-year-old rapper and actress rose to fame when she released her debut album entitled Funkdafied. Hip hop tycoon Jermaine Dupri signed her to his label So So Def and molded her to be the “female Snoop Dogg”. Harris was previously involved in a misdemeanor reckless conduct charge in 2001 when she beat a woman with a gun at another Atlanta nightclub. Harris pleaded guilty to the charge and paid a $1,000 fine, served a year-long probation period, and put in 80 hours of community service.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, is also leaving Shady/Aftermath, the Eminem-Dr. Dre collaboration that discovered and signed him as their first artist. 50 Cent expressed his gratitude to the two mentors that helped make his debut record “Get Rich or Die Tryin’ “a worldwide success that sold over 13 million copies.

Along with his G-Unit Records, the rapper has signed a worldwide distribution agreement with independent label Caroline of the Capitol Music Group. The deal applies to his latest album entitled Animal Ambition, which is due to be released on June 3.

  • Drake Upset About Getting Bumped For Rolling Stone Cover

Canadian recording artist and rapper Drake says he is “disgusted” at Rolling Stone magazine for replacing him on the March issue cover at the last minute. Rolling Stone ran the print with Philip Seymour Hoffman on the front cover instead.

The magazine decided to pay homage to the award-winning actor, Hoffman, after his sudden death following a reported heroin overdose on February 2 in his Manhattan office apartment. The March issue features highlights of the late actor’s life and achievements that he had throughout his 46 years of life.

Rolling Stone’s spokesperson, Melissa Bruno, stated on a phone interview with CBC News that the magazine does not comment on their decisions for cover images.

Twitter users also commented and accused the rapper for being childish about him being replaced on the cover. The harsh comments towards Drake were also defended by some of his fans saying that the press always twists conversations and that they still love him.

The cover is not the only issue Drake has with the magazine. On his Twitter page, he ranted about an interview the magazine conducted, and said that he never made any ill comments on Kanye West’s album Yeezus, and was misquoted by the magazine. Drake allegedly said that some of West’s raps were questionable. On one of his tweets, Drake also said the press is evil. He has later deleted the tweets regarding the interview and the cover.

Drake never outright denied saying those things about Kanye West. He just stated that he never made those comments during the interview portion. The comments were probably said off-the-record, but the magazine included it on print.

On his last tweet, Drake says that he just wants people to listen to his music so he can accurately get his message across. He also says that he is done doing magazine interviews.

No, it wasn’t just a rumor: there really will be a biopic of rapper Tupac Shakur. What makes it more real now is that it finally has a producer by the name of John Singleton, who is best known for his directorial debut “Boyz N The Hood,” released in 1991. Singleton will not only produce, but rewrite and direct the biopic as well.

Tupac Shakur died in 1996 at the age of 25. He was fatally wounded during a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, reportedly due to an earlier altercation between him and another crew. The brawl, captured on CCTV, showed Shakur and several other men from Death Row Records assaulting Orlando ‘Baby Lane’ Anderson at the lobby of the MGM Grand. Anderson and his crew were said to have robbed one of the members of the Death Row entourage at a store, and so Shakur and his crew acted in revenge. Later that night after leaving a club, Shakur was shot while driving his car. He died six days later. The murder remains unsolved.

Tupac Shakur is known for his outspoken personality and controversial lyrics, and it will likely be a challenge to capture his spirit on film. The biopic is expected to show Shakur’s rise not only as a rapper but also as an actor. In 1993, he starred in “Poetic Justice,” a romantic movie, alongside Janet Jackson. Singleton directed the film, which was created around the work of writer Maya Angelou. This makes Singleton a good primary source of reference for what Shakur was like as an actor, and who Tupac was behind the scenes.

Singleton was actually involved in the project when it was being conceptualized. Unfortunately, the deal didn’t push through, and there had been other factors that stalled the project. Now, with Morgan Creek Productions and Emmett Furla Oasis Films on board, the biopic is definitely a go. Singleton will first work on the screenplay, with production slated for this summer.

  • Lil’ Kim Expecting Her First Child

Lil’ Kim is pregnant with her first child and while she is very excited about the notion of becoming a mom, she still won’t divulge who the baby’s father is. The 39-year-old announced her pregnancy Wednesday night at The Blonds Fashion Week after-party hosted by Mac in New York City. She even rubbed her baby bump as she made her announcement.

“I’m so excited! I’m a few months along, I can’t wait to be a mom!” she said. “I’m a mom, but I can turn it up a little!”

It’s uncertain exactly how far along Lil’ Kim is, but it’s more than obvious she’s pregnant. She plans to keep working and has no intentions of slowing down during her pregnancy–at least not yet.

“I’m still going to work,” she says. “I’m still going to be hardcore. The baby has made me even more of a beast!”

Despite her pregnancy, it definitely sounds like the after party Lil’ Kim attended when she made her big announcement was quite the high profile–and maybe even crazy–event.

Lil’ Kim made certain to honor the late Notorious B.I.G. at the after party on Wednesday night.

“It’s also going to be Biggie’s birthday and the anniversary of his death soon so we [as she points to her belly] love you,” she told the crowd before breaking into her performance of Lighters Up.

How do you think Lil’ Kim will take to motherhood? Her life hasn’t exactly seemed conducive to raising a family, but people grow up and change and their morals and values can shift. Hopefully that’s the case here and the rapper, her unnamed baby daddy, and their baby will enjoy a happy and healthy life together.

  • Jay Z And Beyonce To Undergo Vegan Challenge

As a way to celebrate his birthday and do something in order to change his life around a bit, Jay Z has decided to start a vegan diet. His wife, Beyonce, will join him as the high-powered celebrity couple decide to go vegan, and he is describing the diet as a spiritual and physical cleanse.

Jay Z is excited about the cleanse, and is embracing the new plant-based diet. He has said that it will go for at least 22 days, which will lead him to Christmas, however the rapper says that he does not know what will happen after that. The idea of becoming vegan permanently certainly seems to be an option for Jay Z, who has one of the most popular songs around right now with “Holy Grail.”

He is determined to live a better lifestyle, and see what effect the new diet will have on his body. He said that the idea began when a friend of his, Marco Borges, had challenged him to embrace a plant-based breakfast everyday. Borges is an exercise physiologist and founder of 22 Days Nutrition, which is a vegan, organic, and gluten-free food and lifestyle company.

Jay Z will keep his fans updated about how the diet is going, and initially announced it through a blog post on his website, Life And Times. In his statement about the diet, he said “So you can call it a spiritual and physical cleanse. I will post my progress…Any professional vegans out there that have any great food spots, please help out!”

He is certainly going all out, and seeks help from others, taking the new diet very seriously. He asked for advice on places to go, and people have already been commenting on the post to give him advice.

Jay Z, who just turned 44, decided to embark on the challenge one day before his 44th birthday, in order to make the challenge last for 22 days, and ending on Christmas day seems to make it even more special for him. He is doing it for 22 days, because as he mentions later in the post, “Psychologists have said it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. On the 22nd day, you’ve found the way.”

Any time celebrities decide to become vegan, it certainly sets an example for others, and sometimes people who are not aware of the issues involved with animal cruelty will become more aware as well.

Jay Z and Beyonce join a long list of celebrity vegans, who have been outspoken about the issue, and why they have chosen that particular lifestyle. Some celebrities that have already become vegan are Ellen Degeneres, Woody Harrelson, Brad Pitt, Olivia Wilde, and several others.

  • Gucci Mane Indicted: Rapper Could Get 20 Years For Gun Possession

Rapper Gucci Mane has been indicted by a federal court on charges of possessing a firearm. ABC reports that the rapper possessed guns on two different occasions in September and threatened a police officer according to U.S. attorney’s office in Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta. The rapper whose real name is Radric Davis, was indicted on November 19 by a federal grand jury.

Prosecutors said that Davis was found with a gun on September 12 and another gun on September 14. The prosecutors further said that the 33-year-old rapper acted erratically on both occasions and threatened people with the guns.

“On September 12 this year, Davis, who was a felon at the time, was found in possession of a firearm,” the prosecutor said. “Then, just two days later, on September 14th, he again possessed a firearm different from the earlier gun. On both occasions, Davis displayed the loaded firearm, acted erratically, and made threats to individuals, including police and his attorney.”

Davis was taken into police custody after he became agitated and threatened people. “This is how people get hurt, and we are committed to ensuring that convicted felons not have guns,” U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates said.

Drew Findling, the rapper’s lawyer, said that he will decide on what action to take after reviewing information in the case.

According to the indictment, Davis pleaded no contest to two felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon in October. Davis was also convicted in 2005 for being in possession of marijuana.

In the same year, Davis was charged with murder but the charges were dropped because of insufficient evidence. In 2010 he was again arrested for violating traffic laws but the charges were dropped as well. Earlier this year, he was arrested after he hit a man over the head with a bottle.

Each charge of  possession of a firearm as a convicted felon comes with up to 10 years of prison time  and up to $250,000 in fines. Gucci allegedly possessed two firearms. If convicted of gun possession the ‘Servin‘ rapper could be serving a maximum of 20 years behind bars.

  • Kanye West Harvard: Kanye Gives Lecture To Harvard’s School Of Design

In case anyone needed another shocking moment of the day, Kanye West was the speaker at Harvard’s School of Design on Sunday. The controversial rapper spoke to a packed lecture hall as a part of the DONDA Design Lecture Series.

West does not seem like the typical choice for such a lecture, but Harvard may have simply been trying to draw in a crowd, and chose the popular rap star because of the amount of fans that he has. He spoke to the crowd before a concert that he was set to perform in Boston later that night.

Virgil Abloh, who is the creative director of Kany West’s DONDA brand, spoke to the crowd of students along with West. He was also supported by his fiancee, Kim Kardashian, who posted a pic of him, captioning it with “My baby speaking at the Harvard Graduate School Of Design.”

Prior to the lecture, and as he continued with the show in Boston, Kanye West is currently on his Yeezus tour. In the speech, he spoke to the crowd about how important the thinks design is.

While some may feel that other people might be more qualified to speak to the crowd, West was the one who was chosen, and welcomed with open arms by the students. It is hard to know what he means by such a statement, but in his lecture, he told the crowd “I really do believe that the world can be saved through design.”

Kanye West also mentioned in the speech that he believes that a utopia is possible, however it was followed with a complaint when saying “But we’re led by the least noble, the least dignified, the least tasteful, the dumbest, and the most political. So in no way am I a politician–I’m usually at my best politically incorrect and very direct. I really appreciate you guys’ willingness to learn and hone your craft, and not be lazy about creation.”

After a break that was caused by technical difficulties, Kanye West has resumed his performances.
