    Starbucks used this strategy in its 2016 National Voter Registration Day. They broadcasted the event live as company representatives walked around the park. They also introduced and talked to people who volunteered in the event.

    Draw in viewers from other platforms.

    One of the best ways to launch a product or start a new channel is to through the “cheap seats” route. You start by going live on Facebook and encourage viewers watching on other platforms like YouTube, Instagram or Snapchat (considered the cheap seats) to move to your page in order to see the comments.

    To make things more exciting, you can also go live on the other platforms during a break from the mainstreaming feed and invite viewers to join you on Facebook.

    Provide a preview of your upcoming product.

    Giving your audience a sneak peek or a preview on what’s coming next will drum up excitement and make them feel special. Show a trailer for an upcoming webinar or go live and show your staff brainstorming about a new product.

    Tough Mudder is a great example of how to do it. The organizer streamed Coach T. Mud showing participants their training course. Seeing what they would be experiencing got more people interested in signing up.

    Use video bots for show notifications.

    Take advantage of Facebook’s live video bots and use them to interact and encourage your audience to subscribe to your show. You can do this by asking viewers attending your live feed to type a specific word in the comments if they want to receive notifications. You can also create a URL for your video bot and encourage your audience to click on the link to sign up for notifications. This strategy gives you control over who can see your posts since it’s your viewers themselves who told you they want to be notified about your show.

    Get live customer testimonials.

    Tap a loyal customer to talk about your product or company during a Facebook Live event. A lifestream approach to get engaging and natural flowing testimonials from customers are a very effective way of marketing your product. Meet up with a customer and hang out with them. The informal setting and relaxed mood can go a long way to getting your audience to warm up to your pitch or new product.

  • The Xbox One Will Launch On November 8 [Rumor]

    At Gamescom, Sony announced that the PS4 would be launching on November 15 in North America. At the same show, Microsoft refused to commit to an actual date for the launch despite delaying the console’s launch in a number of European territories. One might take Microsoft’s reluctance to name a launch date as a bad sign, but a recent leak shows that the Xbox One might be out of the gate first.

    Kotaku reports that one of its sources has shared a launch schedule of all the big game related items hitting Walmart over the next few months. All the usuals are here, including Madden NFL 25 and Call of Duty: Ghosts. Even the PS4 is listed as having a confirmed midnight launch on November 15.

    Interestingly enough, the schedule also lists the Xbox One with a launch date of November 8. If true, this would put the Xbox One’s launch one week ahead of the PS4’s. One week isn’t a long time, but it could be the deciding factor for consumers who are on the fence regarding the PS4 or Xbox One. There are gamers who would gladly spend an extra $100 just to get their next-gen gaming on a week early.

    Of course, all of this is a rumor for now, and even the leaked schedule makes note of that by not confirming the November 8 launch for the Xbox One. Every other launch, including the PS4, has been confirmed and set in stone. This means that Microsoft has handed retailers a tentative launch date of November 8, but hasn’t confirmed it just yet.

    Microsoft’s reluctance to confirm the launch date with retailers combined with its continued silence towards consumers is a little worrisome. We’re a little under three months away from the launch of both consoles and Microsoft still hasn’t announced a launch date beyond sometime in November. That’s a problem as it conveys a company not confident in its ability to deliver at launch. It doesn’t help when other rumors about Microsoft hitting manufacturing delays start popping up.

    Xbox fans need not worry though. Microsoft will launch the Xbox One in November – it has to. In fact, it has to launch before the Thanksgiving so it can take advantage of Black Friday. The Xbox may not hit on November 8, but it will be out before November 28.

  • New York Was Home To A Huge Wii U Launch Party

    The Nintendo World Store is located in New York City. It’s one of those stores that every Nintendo fan has to visit once in their life. The store also serves a second purpose as it turns into party central when a new console launches.

    The Wii U launched last Sunday, and Nintendo decided to film the entire thing. Nintendo of America President and gamer celebrity Reggie Fils-Aime was on site to spout a few of the fan’s favorite memes. It would be annoying if it was anybody else, but Reggie asking if your body is ready is just way too endearing.

    As expected, Triforce Johnson was the first person to get a Wii U. He was in line since late October, and his patience and persistence paid off. The others who were there seemed pretty excited to be picking up their console at the Nintendo World Store. It’s not known if people actually traveled out of state to be there, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

    The Wii U has yet to launch in Europe and Japan. It will be interesting to see if the launches in those territories are as crazy as they were here in the US.
