Kate Middleton: Queen Elizabeth is Doting “Gan-Gan” to Prince George and Princess Charlotte

Kate Middleton has nothing but wonderful things to say about her husband’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. In an upcoming broadcast scheduled for next weekend, the Duchess of Cambridge shares some of those thoughts. Our Queen at Ninety will air over Easter weekend on the BBC, in honor of the queen’s birthday.

While everyone else calls Queen Elizabeth “Her Majesty,” Prince George calls her “Gan-Gan,” according to Kate Middleton. The children love their time spent with their great-grandmother.

Kate Middleton also shares that Queen Elizabeth dotes on the little ones.

“She always leaves a little gift or something in their room when we go and stay,” Kate says.

Queen Elizabeth turns 90 on April 21 but her official celebration will take place in June. Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte will no doubt celebrate with her much closer to her actual birth date.

It’s interesting to note that during the broadcast of Our Queen at Ninety, Kate Middleton speaks in her first solo interview since marrying Prince William back in 2011.

  • Kate Middleton and Husband Prince William Tackle The Difficult Topic Of Suicide

Kate Middleton and her husband Prince William visited the St. Thomas’ Hospital in London on Thursday to take on the difficult issue of suicide.

According to Hello magazine, the Duchesse of Cambridge arrived at the hospital looking as beautiful and chic as ever, wearing a smart green Erdem coat and her hair down in loose waves.

During their visit, the royal couple learned about the work being done at the hospital to prevent suicide and to support those who have been bereaved by suicide.

The couple had the opportunity to meet Jonny Benjamin, a man who was saved by a stranger when he tried to take his own life in 2008 when he was 20. Years later, Benjamin launched the Find Mike campaign to find the man who saved him and, as a result, was reunited with Neil Laybourn.

Benjamin, who is now a mental health advocate, thanked Kate and the prince for their efforts in tackling the issue.

Later in the afternoon, Prince William and Kate will join about 20 school children in attending a screening of a documentary Stranger on the Bridge, which chronicles Benjamins’s story, which will be followed by a private discussion between William and Kate and a group of people who have lost loved ones to suicide.

“The Duke and Duchess and Prince Harry are making mental health a major focus of their work in the year ahead,” said a Palace spokesperson. “The Duke of Cambridge is particularly keen to better understand the difficult issues around suicide, bullying, and the mental health of young men.

“These are issues he has been exposed to both in his official work with homelessness charities and in his work as an air ambulance pilot.”

  • Kate Middleton and Prince William Take Children on Snowy Getaway

Kate Middleton and Prince William, along with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, traveled to the French Alps this past weekend for a few days away in a snowy setting. While there they posed for some new family portraits.

A spokesperson for Kensington Palace tells the media of the royal family, “This was the first time either of the children had played in the snow.”

The spokesperson also confirmed that Kate Middleton and Prince William wanted to share their new photos with the public.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share new photographs of their family,” the spokesperson said. “The images show Their Royal Highnesses enjoying a short skiing holiday with their children in the French Alps.”

“This was their first holiday as a family of four and the first time either of the children had played in the snow. It was very special and fun short holiday for the family, and they are grateful that John Stillwell [The PA photographer] was able to capture the moment so well,” the spokesperson concluded.

Prince William and Kate Middleton typically travel to Mustique each year for their family getaway, joined by members of Kate’s family. This year they opted for the cold, snowy weather instead, and it looks like everyone believes it was an excellent choice.

  • Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Family Enjoy Ski Vacation in French Alps

Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte are off on a rare ski vacation in the French Alps. While on vacation, the royal family posed for some winter portraits against a snowy backdrop.

A spokesperson for Kensington Palace tells the media, “This was the first time either of the children had played in the snow.”

The spokesperson also confirmed that Kate Middleton and Prince William are enjoying a long weekend, and wanted to share the new photos with the public.

It was very special and fun short holiday for the family, and they are grateful that John Stillwell [The PA photographer] was able to capture the moment so well.

A Kensington Palace spokesperson confirmed that William and Kate flew out for a long weekend, and wanted to share the snaps with the public.

“The Duke and Duchess hope people enjoy the photos.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton typically travel to Mustique each January for their family getaway, joined by Kate’s family. This year they clearly chose something very different for their family holiday.

  • Kate Middleton to Guest Edit ‘HuffPost UK’ to Bring Attention To Children’s Mental Health Issues

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge and wife of Britain’s Prince William, will join the staff of the Huffington Post UK as a guest host for the day to bring awareness to children’s mental health issues.

According to Reuters, her office issued a statement Friday saying the 34-year-old duchess would invite a team from the Post to Kensington Palace in mid-February and will use the guest role to highlight work being done by teachers, parents, researchers and mental health professionals.

“The Duchess of Cambridge has made the mental health of young children a key focus of her work in recent years. She is delighted that The Huffington Post will help put a spotlight on this important issue,” Kensington Palace said in a statement.

“The Duchess will be commissioning contributions from a number of leading figures in the mental health sector as well as from young people, parents, and teachers.”

Steven Hull, editor-in-chief of HuffPost UK, released a statement confirming that Middleton would be a guest editor for a day.

“We are thrilled that The Duchess of Cambridge is joining the HuffPost UK team for a day as a guest editor,” Hull said.

“Dealing with mental health issues has been a major editorial focus for us and I’m very excited to be working together on such an important project.”

One of Kate Middleton‘s charities is Place2Be, which provides school-based mental health and emotional support services, and helps more that 67,000 children in 175 schools across Britain.

  • Prince Harry, Hospital Patient Recall Comfort of Princess Diana’s Lap

Prince Harry visited a hospital for patients battling HIV on Monday, and shared warm memories with one of the people there. The prince met a woman who, at the age of two, had a very precious memory of his late mother, Princess Diana.

“Your mother’s lap was so comfortable and I cuddled into her,” the woman told him.

Prince Harry replied, “I remember that too.”

Kerry Reeves-Kneip is the director of fundraising and communications at Mildmay Mission Hospital in east London where Prince Harry visited. She shared her own thoughts about the poignant moment.

“He held hands with the mother and daughter,” she told People magazine. “You almost felt you knew him because he was so kind to everyone.”

Reeves-Kneip added that Prince Harry showed such compassion. He crouched on the floor with one man and held his hand. Another patient got down on her knees when she saw him, so he got down on his knees, too.

“He was absolutely amazing, and I am shocked at home relaxed he is. He made everyone feel not nervous. He really wanted to hear the patients’ stories and their journey,” she added.

Prince Harry recalled that his mother visited the hospital often, sneaking in and out so as not to draw attention to herself.

“How on earth did she get away with sneaking in and out and said, ‘If only I could do that!’” the prince said.

“He said it was very important for him to come here. This was a very important place to her and she made a number of visits here,” Reeves-Kneip said of Prince Harry and Princess Diana.

Princess Diana was among the first to break the stigma attached to AIDS patients, when she famously shook hands and kissed the cheek of a man stricken with the disease.

“Before she came here, the local barbers wouldn’t cut the hair of people who worked here, the banks wouldn’t handle our money, dentists wouldn’t treat the staff and bricks were being thrown through our windows all the time,” Reeves-Kneip recalled. “But after the picture of her shaking hands with our patient and kissing him on the cheek went global, things changed.”

Kudos to Prince Harry for carrying on Princess Diana’s charitable work. She was the “people’s princess” and both he and brother Prince William–as well as William’s wife, Kate Middleton–have presented a new generation of royals. They are indeed carrying on Princess Diana’s legacy of love.

How wonderful that Prince Harry met a patient who remembers Diana’s kindness. That was no doubt a very special moment for both of them.

  • Kate Middleton Spotted Out Shopping for Royal Christmas

Kate Middleton, aka the Duchess of Cambridge, was spotted out Christmas shopping in London this weekend, likely preparing for the Royal family’s first Christmas with Princess Charlotte.

Wearing a Reiss houndstooth coat, Kate Middleton looked lovely, as always, as she shopped in the Peter Jones department store in Chelsea. She paired her look with knee-high boots. Her recent new haircut was stunning.

Alas it wasn’t much of a shopping trip, as the only thing Kate Middleton left the store with was a wipe-clean PVC tablecloth. Surely that won’t be gracing the table for the Royal family’s Christmas dinner. What do you suppose the duchess bought an item like this for?

Sources say Prince William and Kate Middleton won’t be joining Queen Elizabeth for her traditional Christmas gathering this year. Instead they will join her and the rest of the Royal family for church, returning to their own home later for a much smaller Christmas gathering.

In a recent interview, Prince William said Prince George is very excited about Christmas, and that he will be “bouncing around like a rabbit” before Christmas Day. He added that he and Kate are unlikely to get much sleep on Christmas Eve.

Christmas with two small children is a challenge for any parents, but Prince William and Kate Middleton seem to take it all in stride.

“We’ll watch George try to tackle his presents as he tries to unwrap them. It’s a very different experience at Christmas, having a family of your own,” William said recently. “It’d be nice if we got a white Christmas because we haven’t had one in many years.”

Do you suppose shoppers will catch yet another peak at Kate Middleton doing more Christmas shopping in the coming days? Surely she’ll buy more than a plastic tablecloth for the holiday.

  • Princess Charlotte Appears in Two Adorable Photos Released by Kensington Palace

Princess Charlotte, the daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton, appears in two new adorable photos released by Kensington Palace on Sunday. Kate–the Duchess of Cambridge–took the photos of the little princess earlier in November.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to be able to share two new photographs of Princess Charlotte,” the Palace said in a statement. “The Duke and Duchess continue to receive warm messages about Princess Charlotte from all around the world and they hope that everyone enjoys these lovely photos as much as they do.”

Princess Charlotte was born Charlotte Elizabeth Diana on May 2nd, inheriting the name of her late grandmother, Princess Diana. She has her father’s bright blue eyes and her mother’s rich brown hair.

It was at her christening in July that Princess Charlotte was last seen in public. William and Kate shared several photos from the special occasion.

Princess William recently called his daughter a “little joy of heaven” and “ladylike.” Kate Middleton says of Princess Charlotte that she is getting used to “her noisy big brother.”

Recent photos of big brother Prince George were released this summer on the occasion of his second birthday.

These new shots of Prince Charlotte were released as a thank you from William and Kate for allowing their children to grow up with some privacy.

Viewing these photos of Princess Charlotte as a baby make it clear she will grow into a very pretty young girl. Prince William and Kate Middleton certainly have two beautiful children.

  • Prince William, Kate Middleton Promote Awareness for Mental Health Needs

Prince William and Kate Middleton attended an event to promote awareness for mental health issues, marking World Mental Health Day. The event, held at London’s Harrow College, featured young people who suffered from mental health issues, and now volunteer for Mind in Harrow and an anti-stigma campaign called Time to Change.

It is said to be very important to Prince William and his wife to build both awareness and understanding of mental health illnesses. Prince William recently took part in an anti-bullying class run by the Diana Awards charity. The Duchess of Cambridge recently visited the Anna Freud Centre in London, where children suffering from mental illnesses are helped.

“We are delighted that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be joining Mind to celebrate this year’s World Mental Health Day. Their support will shine a spotlight on mental health and we hope it will spark conversations in households across the country, amplifying the vital message that it’s time to talk about mental health,” the CEO of Mind, Paul Farmer, said.” We hope it will encourage people to think about the little things we can all do to make a difference to anyone experiencing a mental health problem.”

“The Duke and Duchess are committed to raising awareness about the mental health problems faced by young people and we are grateful that they have chosen to champion Mind’s work. We hope it will inspire a new generation of young people to not be afraid or ashamed to talk about mental health problems,” he added.

Prince William does a wonderful job of carrying on the legacy of his late mother, Princess Diana. He and Kate Middleton are said to be very real people and to be very much like Princess Diana in their charity works.

Both Prince William and his wife will surely pass this wonderful legacy of compassion on to their own children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

  • Duchess of Cambridge: Princess Kate Boasts Trendy New Hairstyle

The Duchess of Cambridge has a new ‘do. Princess Kate now boasts bangs as part of a trendy new hairstyle.

Ever since Princess Charlotte was born, the Duchess of Cambridge has kept a rather low profile. She was spotted last Sunday, however, when she and Prince William drove to church. That was the first glimpse the media had of her new hairstyle.

Comments on the internet suggest fans are thrilled the the new ‘do, and they have lauded it to cheers of “great return” and “chic.”

The new look is refreshing. It also makes the Duchess of Cambridge appear a bit younger. And while she may not appreciate that just yet, she surely will as the years go by.

The new hairstyle frames the Duchess of Cambridge’s face in a lovely manner, drawing even more attention to her beautiful eyes.

The Telegraph calls the Duchess of Cambridge’s new style a sort-of throwback to the 1960s.

Hopefully the Duchess of Cambridge continues to update her look on a regular basis, so that by the time she hits middle age, she won’t be stuck with one style like Queen Elizabeth. She has looked much the same for decades.

Do you like this new look on the Duchess of Cambridge? Should she keep her trendy bangs or opt for a more classic look instead?

  • Chelsy Davy: Reunion With Prince Harry Rumors Are False, Prince Spent Birthday With Cressida Bonas

Chelsy Davy and Prince Harry reunion rumors are running rampant, but a new report says that’s all they are–rumors.

Prince Harry turned 31 earlier this week, and it wasn’t Chelsy Davy who kept him company at a pub until the wee hours. It was another ex–Cressida Bonas–instead.

A source close to the prince says he and Cressida Bonas are still great friends, and that the two catch up with one another frequently. The two are part of the same large group of close friends.

“She was invited along to a birthday party with the big group of people and that was it,” the source says of Prince harry’s 31st birthday bash, which took place in a private room at the Cross Keys pub in Chelsea. “They’re friends.”

It seems the two are only friends, however, as Prince William returned home to the palace alone, with Bonas retiring elsewhere for the night.

Very noticeably absent from the birthday party was Chelsy Davy, another of Prince Harry’s exes, and a Zimbabwean attorney. It seems the prince may have caught up with Chelsy Davy during a recent trip to Africa, however an official reunion–as in dating exclusively–is nothing but pure conjecture.

Ingrid Seward is the editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine and author of The Queen’s Speech. She spoke of Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas’s friendship.

“They are close friends. And Cressy’s not the sort of girl you would fall out with. I wouldn’t read anything much into it at this stage.”

Seward added that the reason behind Prince Harry’s splits from both Cressida Bonas and Chelsy Davis is the limelight in which he lives.

“Why would they want to go back into that?” she asks. “Both of those girls felt the same thing. He will always be friends of Cressida and ditto Chelsy.”

If Prince Harry were to reconcile with one or the other of his exes, which would you prefer? Do you see him fitting better with Chelsy Davy or Cressida Bonas?

  • Duchess of Cambridge: Princess Kate Tears Up Internet With New Hairstyle

The Duchess of Cambridge is tearing up the internet these past couple of days. It seems Princess Kate saw fit to adopt a stunning new hairstyle and people can’t stop talking about it.

Ever since the birth of Princess Charlotte, the Duchess of Cambridge has kept a rather low profile. She was spotted on Sunday, however, when she and Prince William drove to church.

Comments on the internet suggest fans are thrilled the the new ‘do, and they have lauded it to cheers of “great return” and “chic.”

The new look is refreshing. It also makes the Duchess of Cambridge appear younger.

What’s your take on Princess Kate’s new look? Should she keep the trendy bangs? Or should she–because she is the Duchess of Cambridge–stick to a more traditional hairstyle instead?

How do you suppose Queen Elizabeth feels about Kate’s new ‘do?

  • Chelsy Davy, Prince Harry Giving Relationship Another Go

Chelsy Davy and Prince Harry are reportedly considering giving their relationship another go. A recent report from The Telegraph says the two reunited last month when Prince Harry was in Africa.

“Harry still holds a candle for her. Chelsy has his heart,” a source tells the publication. “They saw each other recently. There’s still very much something between them, but Chelsy won’t commit yet because she doesn’t want to lead a life in the spotlight. Harry’s very sensitive to that.”

“He has never fallen out of love with Chelsy,” the source added of Prince Harry’s affection for the attorney. “She’s not like other girls; she’s strong, independent, and a rule-breaker. She does everything on her own terms.”

Chelsy Davy and Prince Harry dated off and on for a total of seven years. They met back in 2004. Chelsy Davy was in attendance when Prince William married Kate Middleton in 2011.

Most recently, Prince Harry dated Cressida Bonas–again in an off-and-on relationship lasting about two years. They called it quits for good in April of 2014.

Do you see a reconciliation in the cards between Chelsy Davy and Prince Harry? Might the young royal be ready to think about settling down?

It’s time that Prince Harry considered something besides sowing his wild oats. He will turn 31 on September 15th. Chelsy Davy is 29.

Might there be a future for Chelsy Davy and Prince Harry?

What would Queen Elizabeth think? Would she approve of his choice if Harry were to propose to Chelsy?

  • Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt Enjoy A Cuppa Tea With Prince William and Kate Middleton at Kensington Palace

Angelina Jolie and husband Brad Pitt joined Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday for tea.

    Jealous!

According to Us Weekly, the foursome have tried to get together for months, but it seems the royals were a little busy welcoming Princess Charlotte to the world.

Finally, on Friday, Angelina Jolie, Pitt and the royal couple enjoyed a private Kensington Palace meeting, confirmed People magazine.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Pitt at Kensington Palace on Friday afternoon,” a Kensington Palace spokesman told Us Weekly exclusively. “They discussed their shared interest in combatting the illegal wildlife trade.”

Angelina Jolie, a United Nations Special Envoy, and Brad Pitt were in London so Jolie could attend a lunch at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office on Monday “as part of her work on UK foreign policy and her ongoing campaign to end war zone sexual violence.”

According to the insider for the magazine, Middleton and Prince William were “really excited” about the afternoon tea with Brangelina. Apparently, they were so excited that they waited outside their apartment 1A home to greet Brad and Angie.

Seriously, are they allowed to do that? Protocol and all…

Brad and Angelina Jolie came bearing a gift for little Charlotte, who was born in May. Although the Pitt-Jolie children are in London with their parents, the couple left the kids behind.

“Everyone got on splendidly,” an Us Weekly source said. “Brad and Angelina spent much longer with the Duke and Duchess than planned. They ended up staying for almost a few hours.”

Sounds like a pretty good way to spend a quiet Friday afternoon while in London.

It’s very proper for the foursome to meet. After all, Queen Elizabeth II made Jolie an Honorary Dame Commander — basically the female equivalent of knighthood — at a private Buckingham Palace ceremony in October 2014, for her humanitarian work.

Does that mean the royal couple addressed her as Lady Angelina Jolie?

  • Princess Charlotte Meets Great-Grandmother, Queen Elizabeth

Princess Charlotte–daughter of Kate Middleton and Prince William–met her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, on Tuesday.

People magazine reports that although Queen Elizabeth wasn’t at the hospital when Princess Charlotte was born on Saturday, she dressed up in a hot pink ensemble in honor of the royal birth, during an engagement.

Princess Charlotte has had a rather large procession of visitors since her birth. Grandparents Michael and Carole Middleton visited this weekend, as did Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles. Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, arrived at the same time her mother visited.

Following Princess Charlotte’s visit with Queen Elizabeth, it is expected that Kate Middleton and Prince William–along with the new princess and her brother, Prince George–will head to their country home. The 10-bedroom mansion is located 110 miles north of London.

On Tuesday afternoon, Prince Charlotte’s birth was officially recorded.

Do you expect that Queen Elizabeth was excited to meet her great-granddaughter, Princess Charlotte? She is no doubt pleased that the baby girl shares her name. Princess Charlotte’s full name is, of course, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

  • Royal Baby Name Announced: Charlotte Elizabeth Diana

The royal baby name has been announced. The new little princess is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, as announced by Kensington Palace on Monday.

Kate Middleton gave birth to her and Prince William’s baby girl on Saturday. Their precious bundle of joy weighed in at an impressive eight pounds and three ounces.

Speculation about the royal baby name ran rampant–even weeks before she was born. Both Charlotte and Diana were among the strong contenders in most publications. Charlotte was one of the early favorites for the royal baby’s name, mentioned alongside Alice, Victoria, and Alexandra

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana,” the statement from Kensington Palace reads. “The baby will be known as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.”

Us Weekly reports that when asked the meaning behind the royal baby name, a Kensington Palace rep replied, “We’ll let the names speak for themselves.”

Elizabeth, of course, is no doubt a nod to Prince William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. And Diana is in memory of his late mother, Princess Diana. Charlotte could be a nod to Prince Charles. French in origin, George IV named his only child Charlotte, but she died in childbirth at the age of 21. George III’s wife was Queen Charlotte.

What do you think of the royal baby name Prince William and Kate Middleton have chosen? Charlotte Elizabeth Diana is certainly among the prettier names to come out of the royal family for many years–definitely trumping Beatrice and Eugenie by far.

Welcome to the world, Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge. You certainly have a lovely name.

  • Carole Middleton and daughter, Pippa Middleton, Meet Little Princess (What IS Her Name?)

Carole Middleton and daughter Pippa Middleton met the new little princess on Sunday, even before Prince Charles and Camilla.

They reportedly now know the name of the little princess, however, the rest of the world is waiting impatiently for the announcement of her name.

It’s not unexpected that Kate Middleton’s own mother would quickly make that first visit to meet her new little granddaughter.

Dressed in a lovely spring blouse, Carole Middleton, who is said to be one “happy granny,” drove into Kensington Palace around 11:30 a.m. local time on Sunday morning in a black Range Rover with her 31-year-old daughter, Pippa Middleton.

A bit later, Prince Charles, 66, arrived at the palace with Camilla, 67, to meet his granddaughter for the first time.

The name of the beautiful, little princess is still unknown and it is presumed the announcement will come once Queen Elizabeth has met her great-granddaughter and learned her name first-hand.

Other visitors to arrive after Carole Middleton include Carole’s husband, Michael Middleton, and close friends of Kate and William, Emilia Jardine-Paterson, who is a godmother to Prince George, and her husband.

It is not clear when Queen Elizabeth II will meet the new princess, although reports claim it will come later on Sunday. She was reportedly spotted in Sandringham on Sunday and was seen wearing pink at a royal event in Yorkshire on Saturday.

Any guesses on the new princess’ name?

  • Royal Baby’s Name: Will New Princess Be Diana, Charlotte, Alice?

The royal baby’s name wasn’t announced on Sunday, but some are speculating it may be Alice or Charlotte. Many are likely hoping she will be named after her late grandmother, Princess Diana.

The Chicago Tribune reports there’s no set timetable for selecting the royal baby’s name.

Prince William and Kate Middleton–the Duchess of Cambridge–welcomed their baby girl into the world on Saturday, weighing in at eight pounds, three ounces. Speculation as to what they’d name a princess has run the gamut for weeks.

Here are some thoughts on a few of the ideas for the royal baby’s name.

If the princess is named Charlotte, it could be a nod to Prince Charles. French in origin, George IV named his only child Charlotte, but she died in childbirth at the age of 21. George III’s wife was Queen Charlotte.

If Will and Kate decide on Alice as the royal baby’s name, it would honor the great-grandmother of Queen Elizabeth’s husband, Philip.

While many wonder if they will choose Diana as the royal baby’s name, sources say it’s far more likely they would use it as one of the princess’s middle names instead.

Prince William, Kate Middleton, and the new royal baby had several visitors on Sunday. Pippa Middleton, as well as Kate’s parents–Carole and Michael Middleton–traveled from Bucklebury to see the princess. Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles arrived a bit later in the day. It’s uncertain whether Queen Elizabeth has been to visit the baby yet or not. Prince Harry won’t get to see the royal baby until he returns home from Australia later in May.

What do you suppose the royal baby’s name will be? Might WIll and Kate stick with tradition or forego what might be expected of them instead, and name their daughter–her first name, that is–after Princess Diana?

  • Prince Harry Talks New Royal Baby, Calls Niece ‘Absolutely Beautiful’

Prince Harry issued a statement via Kensington Palace, about the birth of the new royal baby–his niece. Kate Middleton and Prince Harry’s brother, Prince William, welcomed a princess into their family on Saturday, weighing in at eight pounds, three ounces.

Prince Harry, who has obviously seen photos of the new princess, called his niece “absolutely beautiful.”

Currently serving with the Australian Defense Force in Australia, the prince–who is 30–won’t be home to meet his niece until sometime near the end of May.

Prince Harry was spotted taking part in an Australian game of football at about the same time word broke about the royal baby’s birth.

Even though the newest princess hasn’t met her prince of an uncle, she has met other members of her family this weekend. On Sunday, she–along with Kate Middleton and Prince William–were visited by Pippa Middleton, Carole and Michael Middleton, Prince Charles, and Camilla Parker Bowles. It’s uncertain whether or not Queen Elizabeth has yet met the royal baby.

Do you think once Prince Harry returns from Australia that his first stop will be an in-person meeting with his niece? Or will he–far truer to Harry form–visit the London ladies and hit up a few pubs first?

  • Carole Middleton, ‘Happy Granny,’ Meets Royal Baby Ahead of Prince Charles

Carole Middleton is said to be a ‘happy granny.’. And well she should be. Not many grannies can boast not just one, but two royal babies as their grandchildren. Carole Middleton even beat Prince Charles at meeting the new royal baby, who was born on Saturday to Kate Middleton and Prince William. The new baby, of course, joins big brother, Prince George.

It was Saturday afternoon when Carole Middleton was spotted driving through Bucklebury, where she and her family live. She opted to forgo the crazy crowds in London, celebrating the birth of the royal baby outside of the hospital where she was born. Instead, Carole joined daughter Pippa Middleton, traveling to visit Kate, Will, and the new little princess on Sunday instead.

“She looked absolutely radiant. I have never seen her looking so happy,” a source tells People magazine of Carole Middleton as she drove through Bucklebury Saturday. “She was on her own and looked absolutely wonderful. As happy as a bean. She is one very happy granny.”

Both Carole Middleton and daughter Pippa were spotted inside a black Range Rover, driving into Kensington Palace on Sunday. Prince Charles and wife Camilla, visited a short time later, followed by Carole Middleton’s husband, Michael Middleton. At one point the new royal baby had all four grandparents in the room at the same time.

How do you suppose Kate Middleton is taking to all of these visits? After all, she’s the one who just gave birth to the royal baby? Even though she appeared radiant when first stepping outside of the London hospital where the princess was born, she has to be exhausted.

Queen Elizabeth has yet to meet the new princess. Sources say she may visit later on Sunday.

  • Pippa Middleton, Carole Middleton Meet New Royal Baby

Pippa Middleton experienced a bit of angst earlier this weekend when her car broke down and brother James Middleton came to the rescue. Fortunately the mishap didn’t take place when Pippa–along with mom Carole Middleton–were en route to London for their first visit with the new royal baby.

Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed their little princess on Saturday, weighing in at eight pounds and three ounces. She joins big brother, Prince George. The royal baby’s name has yet to be announced.

Pippa Middleton is now ‘Auntie Pippa’ to both Prince George and the new royal baby. Carole Middleton is no doubt thrilled to be grandmother to two royal babies.

Pippa Middleton first made news when her famous derriere graced the pages of tabloids and fashion magazines around the world when Kate Middleton and Prince William married. Pippa garnered almost as much attention as the new Duchess of Cambridge,

The media initially reported that Carole and Pippa Middleton arrived to see the new royal baby on Saturday, but new reports say that wasn’t true. They arrived on Sunday instead, as did Kate and Pippa Middleton’s dad, Michael Middleton.

It’s uncertain what Kate Middleton and Prince William will name their little princess, but Alice, Olivia, and Charlotte seem to top most lists generated thus far. Many wonder if she might be named after William’s late mother, Princess Diana.

As of early Sunday, Queen Elizabeth had yet to meet the new royal baby. Perhaps she will make her visit once Carole and Pippa Middleton have made theirs.

Despite who visits when or what the royal family names their new bundle of joy, there is no doubt lots of activity around Kate Middleton and Prince William–and that is likely to continue for at least the next few days. As anyone can attest, bringing a new baby home–royal or not–is an incredibly busy time.
