    Pretty Little Liars has been exceedingly popular in recent years and has drawn quite a dedicated fan base.

    However, the creators of Pretty Little Liars say that there isn’t much more to be told.

    In an interview recently, creator of Pretty Little Liars I. Marlene King told a little bit about season seven.

    She said, “We have the beauty of one season — a relatively short amount of time — to complete this story, which allows us to go gangbusters in terms of pacing. And there is still a lot of story to tell, so it’s going to unfold and unravel more quickly than we’ve ever told a story before.”

    She added, “Which as storytellers, we love the ability to speed up the story. The finale really was explosive, and it launches the beginning of the end of PLL (Pretty Little Liars) as we know it.”

    Of course, some of the cast of Pretty Little Liars have whipped up speculation that season seven could be it for the show with some of their recent comments.

    When asked about whether or not the end is truly coming for Pretty Little Liars, King said, “We’re thinking right now about going out with a bang and ending this storyline in a way that is satisfying for everyone who works here, everyone who watches.”

    She added, “That’s my immediate goal. And that’s all I’m 100 percent focused on right now.”

    Pretty Little Liars star Keegan Allen, who plays Toby on the show, isn’t even sure how it will end. However, he knows how he would like it to end for Toby.

    He said, “I’m a hopeless romantic. I would like to think of it as The Notebook scenario. He builds this house, and he’s growing old. And Spencer comes back, and they live happily ever after. And I would like the show to end with some sort of mystery.”

    She told Health magazine, “It’s come up a few times in the last few years, like, ‘You’re too fat for this.’ I get told all the time to lose weight. I’m just sitting here like, ‘Wait, what? Do you want a skeleton?’”

    She added, “But, I feel good. I don’t want to lose 20 pounds, because I don’t need to.”

    However, Ashley Benson does have some body envy when it comes to other celebrities.

    When she was asked who she would trade bodies with if she could, Ashley Benson said, “Jenna Dewan-Tatum. She is, like, the cutest thing. Her body right now is so incredible—and she’s had a kid!”

    She added, “I would obviously say, like, every supermodel, like Candice Swanepoel and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley—but that is just so not my body.”

    She may feel good about her body most of the time, but when she doesn’t, Ashley Benson just does what the rest of us do.

    She said, “I’m still working on it. Really, honestly, if I have to go to an event and I’m not feeling my best? Spanx all the way. Literally. Even if you don’t need them.”

    Ashley Benson, one of the gorgeous stars of Pretty Little Liars, opened up to Health about some body image issues that even she has faced in the grand world of Hollywood.

    Everyone knows that Hollywood and media have a sickeningly unrealistic idea of what women should look like. But, Ashley Benson, at a size two, knows firsthand.

    She said, “I get told all the time to lose weight. I got that a month ago. It’s just weird. With my stuff recently, it’s been, ‘You have to be skin and bones or you’re not getting it.’”

    She added, “There was a point where it was getting to where a size two was great. I’m a size two, but I think that a size four is healthy. I think that all of these sizes are healthy.”

    Ashley Benson doesn’t feel the pressure to fit a certain mold and she doesn’t want to be involved romantically with a guy who does cave to that pressure.

    Ashley Benson said of her ideal man, “He has to make me laugh, 100 percent. Be respectful. Personality is key. Likes to travel, and… I don’t really like guys who work out.”

    When pressed on the supposition that she is into flabby guys, she clarified, “Like, there are guys who work out, and there are guys who work out, in the mirror every day, with protein shakes and ‘I’m at the gym for 12 hours.’”

    She added, “I don’t like big guys like that. I like skinnier guys. If there’s a guy who’s super in shape, out the door! Making me laugh is number one. And being adventurous, because I love to just do things last-minute.”

  • Lucy Hale Goes Sexy Goth at People’s Choice Awards

    Lucy Hale rocked a sexy Victorian Goth style at the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday. The Pretty Little Liars star wouldn’t take credit for how fabulous she looked, either, instead giving all the credit to her makeup artist Kelsey Deenihen and her hair stylist Kristin Ess.

    “Kelsey and I spent New Year’s together and I already knew what dress I was going to wear then so we started planning our look together,” Hale tells People magazine. “Kelsey, Kristin and I also always get on a group chat together and send inspiration back and forth.”

    Deenihen claims Lucy Hale’s dress was the inspiration for the whole look.

    “After we saw the dress, we wanted to go for a Victorian Goth look,” Deenihan says. “We also decided that since her hair was back, we wanted to do a pop of color and decided to go for a dramatic lip.”

    Regardless of how amazing Lucy Hale looked at the People’s Choice Awards, her glam team says it only took about 90 minutes to get her ready for the awards show.

    Using a combination of mark and Chanel products, Deenihen highlighted Lucy’s cheekbones with blush and outlined her lips with lip liner, filling them in with a deep matte color.

    Both her makeup artist and her hair stylist shared Instagram posts of Lucy Hale’s hair and makeup.

  • Ashley Benson Rejected For A Role Because She Was ‘Too Fat’

    Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson may have the body every girl dreams to have, but apparently, it was a little too chunky for Hollywood.

    Benson talked about her career and the showbiz industry’s unrealistic beauty standards in an interview with Ocean Drive magazine.

    The 26-year-old actress revealed she cried for half an hour after she was told she was too fat for a part even though she has a petite size two body frame.

    “I was just told I was too fat for a part,” Benson recalled the rejection. “I’m a size two! I cried for 30 minutes, but then you have to let it roll off your shoulders or it could cause a serious eating disorder.”

    She further told the magazine: “A lot of people in this industry hear they need to lose weight more times than they should. It does make you stronger, though. Because if you let that affect you, you can’t be in this industry—you’d go crazy.”

    Benson also talked about how Photoshop had created an unrealistic image of her, saying she was disappointed because could barely recognize herself.

    She also told the magazine that she hates it when girls think she has a perfect body and skin. “I have pimples just like they do,” the young actress shared.

    Proving that no one is perfect, Benson posted an Instagram photo of herself with zit cream dotting her face in October for her 10.4 million Instagram followers to see.

    Talking about her life in the limelight, the actress is aware that many of her fellow child stars had gone off track. She acknowledges that temptation comes with fame and money. While some of her friends spend a lot of time partying, Ashley Benson said she would rather focus her energy on her career.

    “I’d rather have dinner and drinks at someone’s house than go bats–t crazy in public. It’s not my scene,” she concluded.

    Sasha Pieterse of Pretty Little Liars fame is engaged. The 19-year-old said yes to Hudson Sheaffer’s proposal on Tuesday.

    On Wednesday the actress shared photos of the big moment via Instagram.

    “The best day of my life ? Thank you @jonnieandgarrett for capturing the moment,” Sasha Pieterse captioned the first shot.

    The second photo wasn’t captioned, but simply featured a photo of Hudson Sheaffer holding Sasha Pieterse in his arms.

    Sasha Pieterse’s fiance shared a photo via his Instagram account, too.

    Sasha Pieterse got some not-so-happy news on the same day she got engaged, however. Pretty Little Liars creator I. Marlene King confirmed that season seven will be the last for the show.

    That means Sasha Pieterse will be engaged–maybe even married by then–but out of work.

    Ashley Benson joined the many past and present cast members of Days of Our Lives who joined together this week to celebrate the soap opera’s 50th anniversary. Did you know the Pretty Little Liars star actually got her start on Days of Our Lives?

    It was back in November of 2004 that Ashley Benson premiered on the soap–playing the role of Abigail Devereaux–the daughter of Salem’s beloved Jennifer Horton. She played the role until May of 2007.

    It was at the Hollywood Palladium in L.A. on Saturday that Ashley Benson met up with her old co-stars. She enjoyed catching up with Casey Deidrick, Alexis Thorpe, and Heather Lindell, all of whom worked with Benson on Days of Our Lives.

    Ashley Benson has certainly come a long way since her days as a soap opera star. In fact, she recently listed her Beverly Hills mansion for sale, with an asking price of $4.4 million. Soap opera stars don’t live in multi-million dollar mansions, making it clear that Ashley Benson has definitely worked her way up the ladder in her acting career.

    Is Ashley Benson of Pretty Little Liars fame dating The Fault in Our Stars actor Nat Wolff? It seems the two were spotted together–holding hands–in New York City on Saturday evening.

    While no one has either confirmed or denied any PDA between these two, there are some definite connections.

    Nat Wolff has worked a few times with James Franco, who starred with Ashley Benson, Selena Gomez, and Vanessa Hudgens in Spring Breakers. He will star again with Selena Gomez in an upcoming James Franco film called In Dubious Battle. Nat Wolff also starred in the film Paper Towns, alongside actress and model Cara Delevingne. Delevingne is a good friend of Selena Gomez.

    If you followed all of that–great. And if not, it really doesn’t matter. The benign facts serve as nothing more than a backdrop that shows a few degrees of separation between Ashley Benson and Nat Wolff. Not one of them indicates whether the two are an item or not, or if they were simply holding hands in NYC on Saturday.

    It bears mentioning, however, that Ashley Benson and Nat Wolff would make an adorable couple.

    Lucy Hale of Pretty Little Liars says her biggest beauty secret is “all about concealer.”

    Like many women, Lucy Hale leads a busy lifestyle and needs to find those little secrets that help make her as beautiful as she can be.

    Working on the hit ABC Family series and in her role as brand ambassador for Avon’s Mark range can take its toll, but Lucy Hale has learned a few beauty tricks along the way.

    “I do live a pretty busy life and I’m always travelling or on set or doing something,” Lucy Hale told StyleCaster. “There are the times when you can only get four hours of sleep and it’s all about concealer.”

    Lucy Hale, 25, says working for Avon has taught her much about using makeup in unexpected ways, with wonderful results.

    “I’ve got to do a lot of fun photoshoots and explore a lot of different looks and mainly they’ve just exposed me to things that I never in a million years thought that I would do,” Lucy Hale said. “Like for instance at our last shoot I wore an orange lip and I wore this really cool cat eye blue liner and you know I never thought that I could do that, or pull it off so it’s mainly been exposing me to a whole new world of make-up and different looks that I didn’t know existed.”

    One big change for Lucy Hale is shorter locks.

    “I pretty much had the same hair cut since forever, I wrapped season five of [Pretty Little Liars] and I was like ‘I need to do something drastic, I’m just gonna do it’ so I chopped it off I can’t ever remember having long hair, so I think it’s going to stick around a little bit,” said Lucy Hale. “I think next will be like a hair colour situation.”

    Lucy Hale is rocking super short hair this month, and she shared a photo on Instagram that highlights the sweet bob as well as several of her co-stars.

    Hale often changes up her look when it comes to hair styles, but she rarely ventures away from her signature chestnut color. However, she mentioned in a recent interview with mark.girl that she may be looking for a new shade.

    “We wrapped season 5 of PLL and I was like, I’ve gotta do something drastic,” Hale said of chopping off her hair. “I think next will be like, a hair color situation.”

    Hale–who, along with her co-stars, is a style icon among the younger generation–says her stylists have helped her break away from her comfort zone and try new things, such as orange lipstick and blue eyeliner for a recent photo shoot.

    Hale and several of her Pretty Little Liars co-stars sat down for interviews for the season five DVD and gave their insights as to how their characters have changed since season one. Hale says she feels like they’ve all been through so much that they had to grow up faster than normal.

    “I feel like they’re a little jaded toward life because they’ve had to experience so much, and they’ve had to grow up so quickly,” Lucy said.

    Tuesday night’s season six premiere found the girls–Aria, Emily, Hanna, Spencer, and Mona–where the last season left off: stuck inside a pen of A’s making, dressed like beautiful dolls. Executive producer I. Marlene King said that the episode was heavily influenced by another creepy show.

    “Last season’s finale and this season’s premiere episodes were heavily influenced by the TV show The Twilight Zone. They had a lot of creepy dolls in that show! …”A” has literally fenced in his dolls,” King said.

  • Shay Mitchell: ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Star Makes Big Bucks Selling Hollywood Home

    Shay Mitchell of Pretty Little Liars fame listed her Hollywood home on the market back in April. She made a nice profit for having done so, too.

    Having purchased the Spanish-style house in the Beverly Grove area of Hollywood back in 2012–for $1.35 million–she sold it for $1.95 million. And that was three percent above her asking price.

    The Los Angeles Times says of the property, “it has a redesigned kitchen featuring subway tile. One room was converted into a dressing room/closet complete with a wall for jewelry, shoe cubbyholes and a cabinet for handbags.

    A high-ceiling living room, a formal dining room, three bedrooms and three bathrooms are within the 2,041 square feet of living space. A converted garage serves as both home office and gym.

    A flagstone-surrounded swimming pool with a spa sits off a covered patio in the backyard.”

    So why did Shay Mitchell sell such a great home?

    Some suspect it’s because she’s spending lot of time on the road, filming her series called Shaycation. The YouTube travel show requires lots of visits to exotic locales all around the world.

    Shay Mitchell has starred on Pretty Little Liars since 2010. The show’s sixth season is set to premiere in June.

  • Janel Parrish, Val Chmerkovskiy Share ‘DWTS’ Kiss

    Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy shared a kiss on Dancing With the Stars this past Monday evening, to the delight of their fans. The kiss started out as part of America’s choice where viewers got to have a say in the routines. In this case they voted for Parrish and Chmerkovskiy to kiss at the end of the dance. Instead of a modest peck, however, Janel and Val’s kiss turned rather hot and heavy as the audience cheered on.

    Hollywood Life reports that the two are definitely an item, and that their passion extends well beyond the dance floor.

    Fans of Janel Parrish are not only excited about her kiss with Val Chmerkovskiy, however. They’re also excited Janel is returning to Pretty Little Liars.

  • Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy: DWTS Couple?

    Janel Parrish of Pretty Little Liars and Val Chmerkovskiy—Dancing With the Stars pro–are partnered this season on DWTS, and some suspect there’s a different kind of partnering going on. Do you suppose there’s any truth behind this rumor, or the one that they’ve been caught kissing–twice–backstage?

    Val has performed for several seasons on Dancing With the Stars. The brother of Maks Chmerkovskiy–who has since left the show–was excited to kick off the show’s 19th season. He is noted for his professionalism and his sex appeal.

    Brother Maks did interject his two cents worth about the kissing rumor, however. Is he aware of the situation between Val and Janel Parrish–or is he maybe even a little jealous?

    Before Val ever met Janel Parrish in person, he had a feeling there might be a connection.

    “When she sees me and I see her this is going to be a match made in heaven,” he told the camera in a promo clip.

    What kind of match might this turn out to be?

    Epoch Times says Janel has a boyfriend–one Payson Lewis–and that Val Chmerkovskiy is single. What a difference a day–or a dance–can make, however.

    Wetpaint already reports that the two looked cozy on the red–or rather blue– carpet in L.A. at the People StyleWatch Denim Event at The Line. Janel Parrish rocked a black and white plaid skirt with a tight black crop top. She paired the look with adorable black booties and big hoop earrings. Val looked fashionably casual–sporting a light denim shirt with dark denim pants. He topped his ensemble with a fedora and low-cut brown leather boots.

    The two had fun after the blue carpet stroll, too.

    So what do you suppose the real scoop might be? Is there more between Dancing With the Stars pair Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy than their dance moves? Fans will likely have to watch and wait, and see what the coming weeks–both on and off the dance floor–bring.

  • Val Chmerkovskiy Excited About ‘DWTS’ Season 19

    Val Chmerkovskiy is back and excited about the 19th season of Dancing With the Stars. The brother of longtime DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Val is paired this season with Pretty Little Liars star Janel Parrish.

    Val recently spoke with Time magazine about Janel and their season 19 competition.

    “Janel is one of those kids who grew up having a natural flair for performance,” Val told them. “She did singing and acting, but musical theater was the thing she really loved to do. She took some dance classes to complement that. She knows how to move and has some stage presence and she kept up with it, so she has been introduced to dancing before, but has never worked on ballroom dancing in her life.”

    Val Chmerokovskiy is well aware that their combined resumes may indicate to fans and audience members that their performances should be stellar, and recognizes that it would behoove them as a dancing pair to exceed those expectations.

    “I am humbled by the fact that people have a lot of expectations for her and myself. I want to surpass those expectations,” he says. When asked if he thinks he and Janel have it in them to take home the Mirror Ball Trophy this year, he diplomatically replies: “I think everybody on the show should think that way about their partners and their opportunities.”

    “I’m not obsessing about the result as much as the process. I want to make this season great for her,” he also added.

    NorthJersey.com asked Val Chmerkovskiy if he’s sad he’ll be the only Chmerkovskiy on DWTS this season.

    “I’m ecstatic about that,” Val laughed. “Finally, he’ll stop hogging the spotlight.”

    But, in all seriousness, the younger Chmerkovskiy recognizes a special time has ended if they are never “DWTS” pros together again.

    “I’m definitely going to miss being able to share such a platform with him,” he said. “We’re constantly together, so it’s not something where I’m never going to see him again. But in terms of the blessing that was both of us being on the show, for our family, that was a huge privilege — for our grandparents, for our parents, for our friends. To be able to make it to this level in the profession is one thing, but to be able to do it with your brother is something that happens very rarely. I don’t take that for granted. I really appreciated that. But all good things come to an end.”

    Even after just one night’s performance thus far for season 19 of Dancing With the Stars, Val Chmerkovskiy has already pegged a frontrunner.

    “Alfonso Ribeiro is a great performer and I’m sure he’s going to be a highlight,” said Chmerkovskiy.

  • ‘Dancing With the Stars:’ Who Are These Stars?

    Dancing With the Stars hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews announced the new season’s cast a few days ago, leaving some fans to ask, “Where are the stars?” Of course it was pretty likely from the inception of the show that they would eventually run out of real stars–but Tommy Chong? He and Cheech Marin made up the duo famously known as ‘Cheech and Chong.’ The two smoked enough pot back in the 1970s to leave them with a life long case of the munchies.

    In addition to Tommy Chong, who will be paired with dance pro Peta Murgatroyd, is a lineup of cast members who might become stars by appearing on Dancing With the Stars, but really aren’t stars as of yet. A few were stars, but haven’t had that claim to fame for a very long time.

    Sadie Robertson is Phil Robertson’s granddaughter and she sometimes appears on Duck Dynasty, so that makes her a ‘sort-of’ star–maybe even a ‘star in training.’ Sadie will compete on Dancing With the Stars with Mark Ballas.

    Michael Waltrip is a star if you’re a pro racing fan. He will temporarily trade in his race car for dancing shoes and is paired with DWTS pro Emma Slater.

    Lolo Jones is an Olympic star, unless you count her efforts on the bobsled during the 2014 Winter Olympics. She will dance with Keo Motsepe, and can at least outrun everyone on the show if she feels she’s too embarrassed to continue on with the competition.

    Jonathan Bennett joins Dancing With the Stars following (no one said ‘following soon thereafter’) his appearance in the 2004 film Mean Girls. He won’t be dancing with Lindsay Lohan, but rather with dance pro Allison Holker.

    If you loved Back to the Future, you’ll remember Lea Thompson, who played Marty McFly’s (Michael J. Fox) love interest Lorraine Baines. She has come back to the present to dance with Artem Chigvintsev.

    Antonio Sabato, Jr. earned his stardom on General Hospital and Melrose Place, meaning when the drama gets ridiculous on Dancing With the Stars, he just might be involved. Cheryl Burke–his dance partner-in-crime–will likely hold him accountable for his actions, however.

    Randy Couture is a champion mixed martial artist who is trying to become a star as part of The Expendables franchise. In the meantime he is dancing with Karina Smirnoff on Dancing With the Stars.

    Janel Parrish plays the role of Mona Vanderwaal on Pretty Little Liars. Hopefully she leaves Mona’s cunning personality on that set as she comes to the DWTS set to compete alongside the very handsome Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

    Designer Betsey Johnson is a star in the fashion world. Might she be there to help out with the costumes she and partner Tony Dovolani will wear during this season’s competition?

    Bethany Mota comes to your TV straight from YouTube. She is a beauty expert with more than seven million followers. How does that even happen? She is dancing with just one Dancing With the Stars pro, however–Derek Hough–whose sister Julianne Hough will be sitting at the judge’s table this season.

    Alfonso Ribeiro comes from 1996–the last year The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air aired. He played the role of Carlton Banks opposite Will Smith. Will couldn’t be his dance partner on Dancing With the Stars (oh–he wasn’t asked?) so Alfonso is dancing with pro Witney Carson instead.

    Rounding out this season’s contestants is Tavis Smiley. The talk show host (most of us don’t know where he did that talking) will dance with Sharna Burgess.

  • ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Picked up for Two More Seasons

    Pretty Little Liars fans can breathe a sigh of relief — ABC Family has picked up the show for an additional two seasons.

    “Pretty Little Liars has taken its place in the zeitgeist and reigns supreme in pop culture,” said ABC Family president Tom Ascheim. “I am glad to bring another two seasons to our audience because ‘A’ has a lot in store for our Liars.”

    The announcement came Tuesday — the same day as the fifth season premiere.

    The show continues to hold the record as the most-tweeted scripted-series telecast of all time and is the No. 1 series in the history of ABC Family.

    The season five premiere is called “EscApe From New York” and rejoins the drama with Aria and the Liars reeling from Ezra’s shooting at the hands of “A.”

    Ali’s return added even more drama to Ezra and Aria’s love story and there are speculations that a love triangle might bring even more plot twists.

    “There’s also a chance for another love triangle that some fans have been talking about and that’s Alison, Emily and Paige,” said show creator Marlene King.

    King hinted that Caleb and Hanna might get it on again since Caleb is returning to the show.

    The new season is expected to focus on Ali and the mystery of her disappearance. Some fans suspect that the real Ali is actually dead and it is her twin Courtney who is the real ‘A’, creating mayhem in the other liar’s life.

    “Next season, it really is all about Ali coming back,” said King. “Has she changed? Can we trust her? How does her being back affect the liars, and affect their friendship, their dynamic and their relationships with boys and girls so it’s going to be fun.”

    The sixth season is set to debut in mid-2015, while the seventh season is expected to bow in mid-2016.

    Pretty Little Liars Season Finale Recap

    Warning: If you did not get to watch the season finale of Pretty Little Liars, STOP reading. Spoilers are ahead.

    The Pretty Little Liars season four finale just ended, leaving viewers with even more questions than they had before.

    In the episode Ali Tells All, Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hannah finally track down Alison. She has been staying above a restaurant while the owner was out of town. He agreed to let her stay if she kept an eye on the place.

    Alison tells the girls that she is ready to tell them everything that has happened to her, and what she says is shocking! Not only did Spencer not kill Ali, Ali’s mother buried her alive. Yes … you read that correctly.

    Spencer had been fighting memories of the night Ali was supposedly killed, thinking that she had been the one to murder her while she was still using drugs. However, Ali reveals that she and Spencer did have a fight, but she was sleeping soundly when she left the barn.

    Alison had been receiving messages from A for quite a while, but it had not progressed to any physical harm until that night. While Ali was looking through the window at her mother, someone threw a rock at her, knocking her unconscious. Alison’s mother then proceeded to bury her daughter, not realizing that she was still breathing. Alison revealed that her mother kept talking to someone saying, “what have you done”, over and over hysterically.

    Ali manages to get out of her shallow grave, and is found by Mona walking down the street. Mona plays Alison and pretends to help her, when she was helping A the entire time.

    While Alison is telling her friends all of the details, the police are searching for them. They locate Spencer’s car, but not the girls. At the end of the episode, someone shattered the glass of the restaurant window and started shooting at the girls. They ran up the fire escape, to the roof, but find that there is nowhere else to go. After reaching the top of the building, Ezra appeares, but he is not the shooter. He yells at the person holding the gun, who then shoots at Ezra. Hannah grabbs the gun and pointed it at the person who had been chasing them, and all of the girls start yelling at him to take off his mask. However, he jumps off of the building, leaving his identity still unknown.

    The girls are left standing there in shock. Aria walks over to Ezra, and then realizes that he has been shot. He falls to the ground and closes his eyes with all of the girls surrounding him screaming. Then, in true Pretty Little Liars fashion, we are left hanging, wondering who was trying to kill the girls and if Ezra is going to live.

    Sadly, we will have to wait until summer to find out the answers to our questions. Season five is scheduled to premiere on June 10, 2014.

  • Brittany Murphy: Film to Release Years After Her Death

    Brittany Murphy died more than four years ago and now word has come that her final film will soon be released. Something Wicked will premiere first in theaters in Eugene, Oregon on April 4th. The film was actually shot in that location. From there it will head to Seattle and Portland, and then on to theaters in other parts of the country.

    The indie film is described as a “hauntingly seductive thriller about obsession and young love gone wrong.” In addition to Brittany Murphy, One Tree Hill’s Shantel VanSanten and Pretty Little Liars star Julian Morris also star in Something Wicked.

    Back in 2010 Shantel VanSanten sang the praises of her late costar.

    “She had the most infectious personality and it was really great to work with her,” the actress said of Murphy, who died back in December 2009. “I was completely shocked when I found out that she passed away.”

    Brittany Murphy is said to have died of pneumonia combined with anemia and multiple drug intoxication. In a very bizarre turn of events it was just five months later that her husband Simon Monjack also died of pneumonia and anemia. Just a few months ago Murphy’s father Angelo Bertolotti issued a claim saying his daughter had been poisoned. He accused investigators of “failure to conduct toxicology tests on the specimens” of his daughter’s hair. The county coroner later dismissed those charges however.

    In addition to Something Wicked, Brittany Murphy starred in films including Clueless, Girl, Interrupted, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Don’t Say a Word, 8 Mile, Just Married, Uptown Girls, Little Black Book, and Sin City. It will be interesting to see if the late actress has the kind of pull in death that she had in life. Will her fans flock to see her film now that she has been gone for more than four years?

    It is always a strange thing when a film is released after an actor in it has passed on. It will likely be very painful for those who were closest to Brittany Murphy.

  • Pretty Little Liars Continues To Unveil Secrets

    Tuesday night’s episode of Pretty Little Liars looked a little different, spending most of the time in the black and white noir world of Spencer Hasting’s mind.

    The episode starts as per usual, in color, with Spencer, Hannah, and Emily going into Ezra’s classroom to find something that will prove he is “A” – or at least has something to do with “A.” While Hannah is looking in Ezra’s filing cabinet and Spencer and Emily go through his desk, Spencer finds Ali’s diary that had been stolen from the girls at a cabin earlier in the season.

    While at Spencer’s house, the girls flip through the diary (which was WAY too easy to find). They decide to take a break from brainstorming. and Hannah and Emily leave Spencer with her thoughts – and pills. Spencer has been taking pills to keep her awake so she can put all the pieces together to prove Ezra is “A,” but this time when she pops the pills, she opens her eyes to find herself in a black and white noir world.

    In this black and white world where things happened (but really didn’t?), Toby was a trench-wearing-detective, Ezra was blunt with his evilness, Hannah was more useful than normal (being single is working for this girl), Aria shared the secret that she is seeing Ezra again, and nobody has the cojones to tell Aria that Ezra is “board shorts.”

    The damper to this black and white episode was how secretive Emily and Paige had to be about their relationship. Lesbians weren’t exactly public about their relationships in the 1940s, and it was rather heartbreaking whenever Emily and Paige had a scene together. Or even when Paige was having a conversation with Aria about Emily.

    During one scene, Ezra and Toby are having coffee and Ezra lets it slip that Ali is alive. Toby takes this information to Spencer and tries to find out if she knew and how much she knew.

    Ezra continues to let it slip that Ali is alive during a conversation with Aria. (Can this guy not keep a secret or does he really want to let everyone know?)

    Later Hannah informs the girls that she has found Ali, and off the foursome go to a nightclub where Ali is a dancer? A showgirl? I don’t know, but she is not happy to see the Liars, least of all Spencer, who she repeatedly tells she has no guts because she has yet to tell Aria about Ezra. During their argument a gunshot rings through the nightclub and the ladies run through a warehouse until they hear Ezra’s voice. Aria wants to go to him, because of course she still thinks he’s the bee’s knees, but the rest of them try to talk her out of it. She walks toward a shadowy figure until they all realize it’s Toby. As Ali heads in a different direction, the Liars get in Toby’s car after he tells them he knocked out Ezra.

    While in the car Toby keeps telling Spencer she has figured it all out, but Spencer doesn’t understand. Then POOF we’re back in present-day Rosewood and Spencer realizes why it was so easy to find the diary. She shares with Hannah and Emily that Ezra changed some of the words and dates in the diary, but little does Ezra know, Spencer has photos of all the pages on her phone!

    The girls head to Aria’s house to tell her the news only to find her kissing Ezra as they look through the window.

    Fans of the show seemed to enjoy the episode, but then again, they pretty much enjoy every episode.

    Although at least one person was not a fan of the black and white episode.

    According to Pretty Little Liars executive producer Joseph Dougherty, the noir episode was the networks idea. Dougherty told Entertainment Weekly, “It was the brainchild actually of ABC Family. Visually, Pretty Little Liars doesn’t look like anything else on the network. We are a place of darker shadows and more mysteries and more scares, and it was kind of like the network calling us out. They said, ‘Listen, we know where you’re going, we’d like to give you permission to go all the way, would you like to do one that’s in black and white?’ And I was a little shy about it because I couldn’t believe they were asking. They gave us permission to go as far as we wanted to go, and that was a dangerous thing to say because we went all the way and ended up with something I’m incredibly proud of. I’m proud of everybody who worked on it.”

    So what can we expect in the next episode and the rest of this season? Dougherty tells EW, “Aria’s going to have to find out what the hell is going on. It’s a question of how she finds out and from who she finds out and how the hell she takes it. And we do have the reality of Ali out there as well and what her situation is. There’s an increased tempo in the episodes that are coming up that lead you to the finale…Pound-for- pound, there’s more going on in this finale than I think has been going on in any other finale, certainly since Mona dove off the cliff. But again, every answer you get gives you three more questions.”

  • Lucy Hale Talks About Her New Country Album

    Who knew that Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale would debut her first country music song and album this year?

    Hale dropped her first single You Sound Good to Me on January 7, and it is already ranked #2 on the country iTunes charts, and #46 overall.

    “The single got released,” Hale told E! News while standing on the red carpet at the People’s Choice Awards on January 8. “The response, for the most part has been just really welcoming,” she added.

    Hale revealed that she was unsure about the response she would get when she came out as a country artist, but she said the reaction she is getting from people is mainly just confusion. “People are a little like confused by it, but it’s been really awesome,” she said. “I’m just trying to soak it all in. I’m on cloud nine today. Like, I can’t believe it.”

    Although it is new for us, Hale says that country music isn’t just a new hobby for her. She says that she has always been an aspiring singer, and has looked up to singers including Martina McBride and Faith Hill since she was a child. “I don’t have to hide behind a character, wardrobe or dialogue,” she tweeted. “My music is 100% who I am and where I’m at in life.”

  • Pretty Little Liars Has A New Clothing Line

    Pretty Little Liars, for those who might not know, is a hit television show that airs on ABC Family, with the story line revolving around a group of friends who, as IMDb puts it, “band together against an anonymous foe who threatens to reveal their darkest secrets, whilst unraveling the mystery of the murder of their best friend.” And when the writer says this show is a hit, she means it; the show is incredibly popular among high school-aged viewers, as are the books the show is based on. So popular, in fact, that there is a new clothing line being launched with the show’s name on it.

    The clothing line surely won’t come as a surprise to fans of the show; the lead characters are often dressed to the nines, and style is a very important part of the show’s aesthetic. With that in mind, it’s certainly not surprising that Aeropostale would pick up the show’s fashionable, up-and-coming clothing line. Fans of the show won’t be disappointed, either; the clothes are being designed by the show’s costume designer, Mandi Line, for a four-season collection.

    Line, when asked about her involvement, seemed very excited about the opportunity and positive about her creations. She was quoted as saying, “I knew that if the cards aligned this would be the ideal show for a clothing line. It’s just so popular- a combination of the books, and edgy, savvy team, and a cast that embodies everything. The line is only going to get better and better.”

    Fans will also be pleased to hear that they can get their hands on a piece of the clothing just in time for the show’s return to the silver screen by shopping on the website, with the pieces being divided by character. This allows the line to feature all kinds of styles, ranging from “tomboy” to “girly,” meaning that any fan will surely be able to find something stylish to add to their wardrobe while supporting a show they love. And with all the pieces being between $18 and $72, a new addition to a budding fashionista’s wardrobe won’t break her bank, either. It seems like everyone wins with this line!
