    Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres have been in the headlines for weeks now following de Rossi’s stint in rehab, and now rumors are flying around the web that the couple are headed to therapy in order to save their relationship.

    The couple have reportedly been fighting quite a bit lately, and the situation wasn’t helped when de Rossi had to seek help in rehab for alcohol abuse. She allegedly secretly filmed an argument with Ellen while she was under the influence and threatened to leak it online to expose her as controlling and manipulative, and allegedly believes Ellen had an affair while she was away.

    “Ellen is domineering and Portia is passive. Ellen always calls the shots, and Portia never complains. She felt like a prisoner in her own home. She went from sipping white wine occasionally to drinking at least a bottle or more a day and topping it off with a pill. It got to the point where she was out of it four nights a week. They’ve had vicious shouting matches — with both of them yelling cruel, soul-crushing put-downs that they both deeply regretted,” a source said recently.

    The couple have not publicly confronted the rumors; in fact, Ellen has denied that there is any problem, saying the couple never have fights.

    “It’s so ridiculous to me. There’s not one ounce of truth to any of it. I’m very happily married. In fact, the only thing we ever argue about is who loves who more. That is all. It really is true. And we argue if we’d let a kangaroo carry us around in its pouch for a year. I would. She wouldn’t. She’ll change her mind. Who wouldn’t want to be in the pouch of a kangaroo for a year? Hopping around. And she’s like ‘no’ but anyway,” Ellen said earlier this year.

    Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s marriage has been a topic of discussion for weeks now.

    The famed comedian and talk show host has been accused of cheating on the Australian actress and model with a mutual friend. Ellen’s alleged infidelity is reportedly the reason for her alcoholism.

    Back in May, Portia entered rehab for her drinking problems, which sent the media into a frenzy. Shorty after, reports began circulating about a fight between the two that had been caught on tape.

    According to Yahoo! Celebrity, a source close to the couple even opened up about the alleged fight, with shocking claims about their relationship.

    “They got into an ugly fight,” a source close to the couple revealed to In Touch Weekly. “Portia hadn’t been happy for a while and was drinking and isolating [herself], and Ellen confronted her.”

    “Portia lost it and blamed Ellen for driving her to drink because of her controlling ways and said she wasn’t in love with her anymore. Ellen was crushed and screamed at Portia to get out,” the source revealed.

    Divorce rumors have also been reported by several media outlets for months, but the couple is determined not to validate any of the claims. Celeb Dirty Laundry reported the couple has sought therapy in an effort fix the problems in their marriage.

    “It’s going to take a lot for Portia to trust Ellen again,” the source said.  “They kept up with the therapy after Portia got out of rehab, but they still have a long way to go. They are on their way to repairing their marriage. It won’t be easy. Portia will always be battling these demons. But they love each other,” the source explained.

    Ellen DeGeneres or Portia de Rossi have yet to address any of the latest divorce rumors. However, back in February, Ellen denied that the two were having any marital problems.

    Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been in the headlines for weeks, with headlines of divorce rumors, meltdowns, and a stint in rehab for Portia thrown straight into the public eye. Now one source says Ellen cheated on Portia right before that rehab stay. It seems Portia believes that Ellen had an affair with a mutual friend right before she headed off to rehab in May.

    Ellen DeGeneres reportedly wants her save her marriage, however–she hasn’t publicly admitted to this affair–and the two have long been engaged in couples therapy.

She and Portia de Rossi are known for flipping homes. This particular house was reportedly named as among the reasons behind a recent blow up and Portia’s return to drinking. It seems she shouldered most of the renovations to the home–ones that she and Ellen were supposed to do together.

    Ellen DeGeneres, of course, is steering clear of any of these personal issues when addressing the media. Her on-air persona hasn’t changed, nor has her apparent compassion for what’s going on in the world around her. On Friday, what would have been Nelson Mandela’s birthday–Nelson Mandela Day–she shared her thoughts about the late, great leader.

    Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are likely making headlines in part because of Ellen’s constant media presence. The talk show host and comedienne is known for being kind, generous, loving, and funny. Is this how she behaves behind closed doors or is there a side of Ellen that very few people have seen? This is no doubt a very intriguing aspect of the Ellen and Portia debacle–at least for those on the outside looking in.

    It would be sad to imagine Ellen DeGeneres isn’t who she is on TV. Hopefully time will prove these rumors to be just that–unfounded rumors–and Ellen and Portia de Rossi will wind up living their happily ever after–both in the Hollywood celebrity realm and behind closed doors.

    Ellen has been a daytime darling for several years with her Emmy-winning talk show, and when she and De Rossi went public with their relationship, their fans were overjoyed for them. For a long time, it seemed they were the perfect couple, but recent stories about Ellen’s alleged controlling ways have made their way onto celebrity gossip sites, as well as rumors of excessive drinking on De Rossi’s part.

    Portia de Rossi has allegedly recorded some seriously heated arguments with wife Ellen Degeneres and threatened to release them to the public.

    A source apparently told In Touch magazine that de Rossi, 41, recorded the arguments, telling DeGeneres that she would release them publicly to expose her abusive nature if she didn’t stop treating her badly.

    “Portia secretly taped some of their arguments. She was drunk. Then she threatened to expose Ellen as controlling and manipulating,” said the source.

    According to the source, Degeneres, 56, became very angry when she realized their argument was being recorded. She then allegedly checked de Rossi’s email to be sure the videos had not been sent to anyone.

    The source also revealed to the magazine what life is like for de Rossi.

    “She felt like a prisoner in her own home. She went from sipping white wine occasionally to drinking at least a bottle or more a day and topping it off with a pill. It got to the point where she was out of it four nights a week. They’ve had vicious shouting matches — with both of them yelling cruel, soul-crushing put-downs that they both deeply regretted.”

    Despite these latest allegations, the couple are reportedly working hard at making their six-year marriage work. They were spotted in June smiling and shopping arm in arm at a furniture store.

    “Portia going to rehab was the first step in saving their marriage,” a source said. “They want their marriage to work more than anything.”

    Like any couple, this isn’t the first time, nor the last time they will try to weather difficult times. A source close to the couple said de Rossi is “good at seeking help when she needs to.”

    ”They’ve worked out difficulties in the past, and no doubt they’re trying to work out any problems right now.”

    In May, the couple renewed their wedding vows, proving that the couple are still very much in love.

In fact, sources close to the couple believe they may even renew their wedding vows some time in August. It seems an argument the couple had sent Portia packing–to a rehab facility for treatment of alcohol and drug problems. The former Ally McBeal actress suffered from an eating disorder in the past as well.

    A source close to the couple says Portia de Rossi is “good at seeking help when she needs to.”

    ”They’ve worked out difficulties in the past, and no doubt they’re trying to work out any problems right now.”

    Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have bought and renovated properties since before their marriage. It seems the argument that sent her packing for rehab stemmed from her belief that she had endured most of the work involved in their most recent project alone. The couple recently resold the home for a $15 million profit as seen in the video clip above.

    ”At times Portia felt overwhelmed at all that goes into redoing a house and moving to another, no matter how lucrative it may be,” the source claims. ”She felt like she was doing everything herself and needed some downtime.”

    Friends of both Portia and Ellen have lots of confidence in their marriage, however, and believe that the couple will continue to work things out. Next month the pair will celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary and that’s when it’s expected they might renew their wedding vows. Both Ellen and Portia were excited to tie the knot when it became legal for same sex couples in California to do so.

    “They both love to celebrate special occasions and holidays, and their wedding anniversary is no different. They usually celebrate with a big party and invite a lot of friends. They really are a lovely couple. They enjoy being married, and it shows,” the source adds.

    Portia de Rossi is clearly out of rehab now. The couple was spotted furniture shopping in New York in recent days.

    Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres have been making headlines for quite some time due to rumors about their alleged marital problems.

    Despite their six-year wedding anniversary approaching in August, speculation of cheating and divorce continues to run rampant.

    As a matter of fact, the media has reported so many claims that it’s difficult to decipher what’s true or false. However, People magazine reports that the famed couple is “taking it all in stride.”

    An inside source has reportedly shared a few details about their marriage, but in a nutshell, they’re just like any other couple. “They’ve had their ups and downs,” the source admitted.

  • Sofia Vergara: Friendship with Ellen Sparks Jealousy

    When you go through hard times, you reach out to friends for support. However, according to actress Portia De Rossi, her wife’s relationship with Modern Family star Sofia Vergara is getting too close for comfort.

    Talk show host and comedienne Ellen DeGeneres sparked up a friendship with the 41-year old Colombian actress after she began to appear on Ellen’s show regularly. The two ladies also bonded while co-starring in ads for Cover Girl.

    But, despite that fact that Vergara is obviously straight and has shown no indication of “changing teams,” Ellen’s 41-year old wife is not comfortable with the relationship.

    “Portia always resented Ellen’s friendship with Sofía, and that Sofía is leaning on Ellen for support, she’s even more jealous,” an insider told OK! Magazine.

    Vergara, recently appearing in the film Chef, may seem to have a fabulous Hollywood life now, but that hasn’t always been the case. In Colombia, she was married at 18, had a child at 19, and was divorced at 20. Five years later Vergara’s older brother was murdered and in 2011 her younger brother was deported from the United States to Colombia after being arrested. She was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2000, had it removed, and, although she made a full recovery, she takes daily medication to control the symptoms of hypothyroidism.

    Recently, Vergara’s relationship to businessman Nick Loeb was called off after a 2-year engagement. Having a friend like Ellen sounds like exactly with Vergara needs. But De Rossi’s jealousy continues.

    “Portia has always thought Ellen was a little too touchy-feely with Sofía, they’ve fought about it before, but Ellen convinced Portia she was blowing the situation out of proportion and that the women were just good friends,” the insider said.

    After months of tabloid speculation as to whether Ellen and De Rossi are calling it quits, this friendship only seems to add fuel to the fire. But Ellen continues to fend off allegations.

    It is reported that de Rossi is having jealousy issues over her wife for talking to other women; more specifically, actress Gillian Anderson. de Rossi caught DeGeneres texting Anderson, and is afraid that there may be more to their relationship than just a simple friendship.

    “Ellen and Gillian have been close friends for years and set tongues wagging when they were caught sharing a steamy lip lock in 2000,” a source revealed.

    “Ellen has always had a major crush on Gillian, but she’s sworn up and down to Portia nothing happened between them. But Portia doesn’t believe her,” the source continued. “Ellen and Gillian adore each other. Portia’s not too happy about it and wants them to stop communicating. She’s afraid Ellen will be tempted to stray, even though the funnygal insists that would never happen.”

    However, according to what DeGeneres told PEOPLE magazine back in March, she is completely happy with de Rossi and falls more in love with her all the time. “The truth is, and this is corny, I fall more in love with Portia all the time.     It’s hard to believe that Ellen DeGeneres is 56 years old, because she has a child-like exuberance that’s suited her well throughout most of her career, and it made her one of the most beloved talk show hosts of all time.

    And just think, there was a time not too long ago when her career was in question because she announced to the public that she was gay.

    Believe it or not that was 17 years ago, and if you remember, the controversy that followed her announcement was huge, and DeGeneres said the whole thing really took her for a loop.

    “I thought everyone knew me and I didn’t think that one little adjective was going to define me,” she said in an interview with People magazine. “I didn’t have perspective for a while.”

    The stand-up comedian also said that’s she’s removed from the entire experience, like it happened to somebody else. “Now I look at it as a movie that I saw that someone went through,” said DeGeneres. “And I only experience the amazing life that I have right now.”

    And part of the reason her life is so amazing is because her relationship with actress Portia de Rossi is so solid, she says, and people shouldn’t believe the tabloid stories that say the two of them are on the rocks.

And I thought, ‘Oh that’s so sweet, they’re honoring us.’ But then I read the headline underneath. And it said, ‘Ellen and Portia Marriage Crumbles.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, what happened? They seemed so happy.’ And then I was like, ‘Wait, I’m Ellen.’ And I should know if that was happening. It’s so ridiculous to me. There’s not one ounce of truth to any of it. But when James Lipton asked the Arrested Development and Ally McBeal actress during an interview with “Inside the Actors Studio” about the first time she came out as a lesbian in public, de Rossi finally decided it was time to tell the story.

    She spoke candidly about her anxiety and fears. “Ellen and I had been together for a month and I was very, very nervous going to that (The Golden Globe Awards) because I knew that I was going to meet up with her after the show… we actually stepped out together as a couple but, for me, it was the first time that I stepped out as a gay woman.”

    Portia de Rossi opened up recently about when she came out as a lesbian and how nervous she was to do it. After dating Ellen DeGeneres for only a month, she knew that the 2005 Golden Globe Awards was where she would take her first steps in public as a gay woman, and she was extremely nervous about it.

    “Ellen and I had been together for a month, and I was very, very nervous going to that, because I knew I was going to meet up with her after the show. And that there was press,” she said in an interview with her “Arrested Development” costars. “That was the first time we stepped out together as a couple, but for me, it was the first time I stepped out as a gay woman, really.”

    The Australian actress says that when she was younger, she rejected the idea of being a lesbian because there was no one for her to take guidance from.

    “I just didn’t want to be a lesbian,” she told Amanda de Cadenet earlier this year. “I’d never met one for a start, and I just thought they were strange and that they hated men and they were very serious, and I had these ridiculous images in my head and there were no out celebrities or politicians or anybody that I could look to and go, ‘Oh, I could be like that’…. I didn’t like people thinking of me as a sexual being, and I was just terrified that people would know that I was gay.”

    Now, however, de Rossi has been with Ellen DeGeneres for nine years; the two married in 2008 but moved in together after just a couple of weeks of dating.

  • Did Ellen DeGeneres Buy A $26.5M Home?

    Ellen DeGeneres is apparently riding high on the news that her day time talk show was renewed as she may have just bought a $26.5m mansion.

    TMZ reports that DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, dropped $26.5 million dollars on a new home in Santa Barbara. As for the details, the house features over 10 square feet, has nine fireplaces, six bedrooms, six bathrooms and is spread across 13 acres. In short – this is the kind of house that you can only wish you had.

    Of course, this is just the latest in a number of properties DeGeneres owns in the area. It’s reported that she owns homes in Beverly Hills and Hidden Valley.

    In other Ellen news, the comedian will be reprising the role of fan favorite Dory in the Finding Nemo sequel – Finding Dory. We can only speculate that the advance from Disney for the 2015 film helped to pay for at least part of the new home.
