  • Aaron Carter Gets Backlash After Tweeting Support For Donald Trump’s Presidential Campaign

    Former child star Aaron Carter tweeted on February 27 that he supports Donald Trump’s bid for the U.S. presidency. A huge backlash from his followers and anti-Trump netizens ensued, citing the GOP frontrunner’s homophobic political stance.

    In an attempt to get Carter’s side, GQ featured the “I Want Candy” singer in an interview on March 12.

    When asked whether he knew that his endorsement would get him a lot of attention from social media, the 28-year-old responded that he somewhat expected that because “it was more than just a tweet.”

    He also said that he takes everything personally because he is “so personable.”

    Carter went on to describe what he liked about Trump, and emphasized that he does not like everything the presidential candidate says or believes in.

    “I support Donald Trump. I don’t support every little thing. Trump goes his own way. He’s a leader, not a follower, and he’s proven that by humbling the other campaigns,” he said about Trump, who has recently brought home major primary victories on Super Tuesday 3.

    One of the things that Aaron Carter said he disagrees with Trump is building a wall, which he thinks is “totally outrageous.” He also does not agree that the TV personality plans to ban gay marriage, especially since he had previously shown support for the gay community.

    But what if the current Republican candidate frontrunner and potential U.S. President fails to change his previous stances on some political issues?

    “If Trump can’t change some of his ways of thinking, then I’m just going to sit this one out,” the “I’m All About You” performer said.

    Aside from talking about his endorsement of Donald Trump, Aaron Carter also claims that he was the one to whom Michael Jackson passed the torch before his death.

    Selena Gomez Steals Billboard ‘Chart Topper’ Crown From Iggy Azalea, Album ‘Revival’ Still Going Strong

    American singer and actress Selena Gomez has successfully clinched the top spot of Billboard’s Chart Topper this year.

    According to a report, Gomez, 23, will be handed the award at the annual Women in Music event, which will take place on Dec. 11, at the Cipriani Midtown in New York City.

    The Chart Topper award provides recognition to artists who have achieved “major career milestones” on Billboards charts all throughout the year.

    The “Come and Get It” singer reached the top of the Billboard 200 earlier this month with her album Revival, which managed to sell more than 117,000 equivalent album units during its first week.

    Meanwhile, her single “Good for You” featuring A$AP Rocky has become Gomez’s fastest ever platinum seller and highest-charting single for Billboard Hot 100. The single has also been at the pinnacle of the Top 40 list for three weeks already.

    “In the last few months, Selena has broken onto the scene as an adult, and come into her own as an artist with the success of Revival,” said the co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media’s Entertainment Group, Janice Min.

    Currently, Gomez has now sold a total of almost 6.7 million album units, and over 22 million sales for her singles.

    The Texas native recently thanked her fans because of Revival’s huge success.

    “I just wanna say thank you to all you guys for the past few weeks,” she told her 34 million followers on Twitter. “Reminds me of why I do what I do!”

    The recipient of Billboard’s Chart Topper award last year was Iggy Azalea, after her single “Fancy” surpassed Lil’ Kim’s as the longest-leading single in chart history.

    Other awardees in this year’s Women in Music event include Lady Gaga as Woman of the Year, and Brittany Howard as Powerhouse artist, among others.

    Demi Lovato has a twin sister and her name is Poot Lovato.

    Recently, Poot has been making headlines as she charmed her way to social media with her cuteness. For those who are not in the know, Poot is a meme borne out of a not-so-flattering photo of Lovato.

    A Tumblr user posted her photo and wrote in the caption that it was not the famous pop singer but her twin sister who has been locked in a basement. The Tumblr user with the handle name “cstcrpt” added that the picture was taken the first time Poot went outside.

    One creative fan even put up a Wikipedia page dedicated to Poot Lovato while someone put her in a Finding Nemo Poster then captioned it with the hashtag #Freepoot.

    One Twitter user suggested Poot join show business and launch an album called “Poot for the Summer,” while another user thought she could be a  great world leader named Vladimir Pootin.

    Poot now has her own unofficial Twitter account and a fan fiction entitled The Secret Life of Poot Lovato. The meme was such a huge hit around social media that people reposted it numerous times unitl Demi herself saw it. The “Cool for the Summer” singer responded to the circulating meme and it looks like she is not onboard. In a series of tweets (which were deleted afterward) Lovato expressed her feelings about the twin Poot meme.

    “Cool to see a shitty angle turn into a meme that circulates the Internet to people’s amusement ha,” Lovato wrote on her Twitter and added “make actual headlines.”

    With all of these silly memes, it is not surprising that Lovato was not amused at all.

    Selena Gomez Clinches Top Spot On U.S. Chart With ‘Revival’ Album

    Just last week, Selena Gomez reached the top of the Billboard 200 Chart with her album Revival, which sold 117,000 equivalent album units in the week ending on Oct. 15.

    A new report, however, states that the 23-year-old singer has reached her highest ranking on the Billboard Artist 100, since cracking the list more than a year ago. Gomez reportedly made a jump from 9th place to 2nd to reach her highest rank in her 55th week on the list. The jump was primarily the result of Gomez’ latest album selling 85,000 copies. This has boosted her ratings by 182 percent, and contributed 65% of her total Artist 100 points. Gomez sent a tweet to her followers and fans to express her gratitude for supporting her.

    “I just wanna say thank you to all you guys for the past few weeks. Reminds me of why I do what I do!” she said.

    Meanwhile, Canadian singer and songwriter The Weeknd has returned to No. 1 on the Artist 100, led by “The Hills”, which sits at the top of Billboard’s Hot 100. His eight weeks at the top of the list is only second to Taylor Swift’s 31 trips to the weekly rankings’ summit.

    The Artist 100 list ranks artists based on Billboard’s other charts, including the Billboard Hot 100, Top Album Sales, and Social 50. Billboard then uses these statistics and combines them with album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming, and social media popularity to come up with the top artists of the week.

    Also included in this week’s Artist 100 are Drake, who slides from the top spot to No. 3, Swift goes down one level from 3 to 4, and The Game re-enters the top 5 with his new album The Documentary 2.

    Taylor Swift is known for bringing big celebrities and awesome talents to her concert and shows. The “Bad Blood” singer did not disappoint her fans when Mary J. Blige appeared on stage as her special guest in her August 22 Los Angeles concert.

    The singers performed an awesome duet oto Blige’s “Doubt” and “Family Affairs” at the Staples Stadium in Los Angeles. The crowd enjoyed the concert as Blige hit the high notes with usual ease. Moreover, the song “Doubt,” meant so much to them and they can easily relate to the song because of their struggles.

    After the concert, the 44-year-old RnB diva complimented the “Bad Blood” singer.

    “It was just beautiful singing with her, because she has a beautiful, strong voice and an amazing soul. I was honored and it was a blessing to be up there with her,” the RnB singer told Yahoo.

    Blige admitted that she accepted Swift’s invitation because she has always been a fan of Swift. She added she has so much respect for the fellow singer as a woman and businesswoman and most especially as an artist.

    The 25-year-old “Bad Blood” hit maker shared a photo of her and Blige embracing.

    The concert also featured comedian Chris Rock, Friends actor Matt LeBlanc and model Sean O’Pry who was in Swift’s “Blank Space” music video. The three guys appeared on stage when Swift performed “Style.”

  • Rita Ora Gets Therapy For Having Extreme Fear Of Death

    Rita Ora admits she has an extreme fear of death and this led the singer to seek professional help. The X-Factor judge has been attending therapy since she was little.

    Her fear stemmed from her experience when she was seven years old. In an interview with The Guardian, she made mention of a traumatic experience while playing hide and seek with her friends in Earl’s Court in London.

    “I was seven – no-one found me and I thought I was going to get stolen by ghosts,” said Ora, recalling how terrified she was at the thought of being abandoned in a cemetery.

    She remembered how she had panic attacks as a child after that.

    The “Poison” singer confessed that she has been going to therapy since then and she tries to go for therapy once a week now.

    But looking at the bright side, Ora’s experience made her see life in a new perspective. She has grown from a scared child to a wise woman.

    Ora said, “I started to value things, see things differently. This world can really eat you up and you can forget who you are.”

    At the age of 24, the singer has accomplished so much and the thought of dying makes her even more grateful for the blessings she has. Ora had been a judge on The Voice and now she is an X-Factor judge. Ora is also the new face of an Italian underwear brand Tezenis.

    However, recently, Ora has been criticized for working with RnB singer Chris Brown. It seems like people cannot forget Brown’s beating of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009.

    Ora says she believes Brown is a “good person with a good heart,” she spoke with The Sun in June.

    When asked about her rumored rivalry with Rihanna, the singer said she was a “huge fan” of the singer.

  • Carly Rae Jepsen Drops New Single ‘Warm Blood’, New Album Coming

    Canadian singer and songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen gifts us with another taste of her upcoming album E•MO•TION. This new single dubbed “Warm Blood” stayed true to the album’s theme that features a new breed of ‘80s-inspired pop songs.

    “Warm Blood” follows “I Really Like You” and “Run Away With Me” as the frontrunners of Jepsen’s summer album. This new single has an electro-pop feel to it that becomes better as the synth kicks in.

    The new album has Jepsen calling all the shots, from the theme right down to the release. E•MO•TION was presumably due for an early 2014 release but Carly Rae opted not to rush the album to assure its quality.

    Now, the Canadian Idol 2nd-runner up plans to premiere a new track off her album every Friday leading up to Aug. 21.

    These new array of tracks could potentially put Jepsen in a new light. The pop star was judged as a one hit wonder after the release of the hit single “Call Me Maybe.” The song was tagged as a novelty and considered to have only been commercially successful due to its catchiness.

    Her second album Kiss—which many critics are calling the best pop album of the year—didn’t receive the commercial success it deserved and only sold 289,000 copies in the U.S.

    Despite her underrated status, Jepsen continues to write and create her own brand of music, evolving herself and the pop genre in the process.

    “My desire now is to see how far I can stretch pop,” said Jepsen.

    This third album shows more mainstream promise as its filled with not only songs of substance, but also songs perfect for radio and sing-alongs.

  • Justin Bieber in More Trouble With the Law?

    Justin Bieber might be in trouble with the law again. The Confident singer is now being investigated for attempted robbery following a recent incident in L.A. A female victim has filed an official complaint and officers arrived at her home on May 13th to talk with her about the situation.

    It seems the victim and her daughter were enjoying their day at Sherman Oaks Castle Park on May 12th when they spotted Justin Bieber there as well. The mother took out her cell phone in hopes of snapping a few photos of the pop star when all hell broke loose.

    Justin Bieber saw what was happening and demanded that she hand over her phone to him. When she refused he grabbed her purse and removed the cell phone from it.

    TMZ reports that the woman “began wrestling with Bieber, trying to get her phone back,” and that the singer apparently gave up when he was unable to get through the password required to access the phone’s content. The woman then showed Justin Bieber that she hadn’t in fact taken any photos of them and was actually only hoping that he might come over and say hello to her and her 13-year-old daughter.

    Bieber allegedly said to her, “You’re humiliating yourself in front of your daughter. Why don’t you just get out of here?”

    What is with this kid? Why does he feel he has the right to treat people in such a disrespectful manner? These people who want to say hello or take his photo are the ones who have made him wealthy. They buy his albums and concert tickets for their kids.

    A couple of tweets sent out by the Biebs seemingly lend themselves to the matter at hand. Might he have been harassed instead of having been the harasser? Or is he simply trying to cover his tracks?

    Do you think Justin Bieber has a drug problem? His belligerence is one of the characteristics of an addict. At least that would be somewhat of an excuse for his poor behavior. Otherwise that means the singer is nothing but an ill-mannered jerk instead.

  • Lady Gaga’s ‘Brooklyn Nights’ Track Leaks Online

    A song that was supposed to be included in Lady Gaga’s 2013 album ARTPOP made its way online over the weekend. The track with the title “Brooklyn Nights” was said to be recorded almost four years ago when the singer was working on her 2009 EP The Fame Monster.

    Gaga revealed the title of the song in a Q&A session on Twitter on September 20 last year, in anticipation of ARTPOP’s release. However, the song, produced by DJ White Shadow, was nowhere to be found in the album’s final track list. The singer later revealed that the track would be available to audiences via the ARTPOP mobile app.

    In the pop ballad “Brooklyn Nights”, Gaga sings about a failed relationship. The song is somewhat nostalgic, and gives listeners a glimpse of the once-happy relationship: “I always thought it was you / You always thought it was me / We always thought we were it / Seemed like a real perfect fit”.

    The thoughts are of a young couple in love, no doubt. This was confirmed in the next lines that say even though they were young, they could grow old together until the very end. However, this love was short-lived: it doesn’t appear that they can be together forever. Things have changed from when they spent happy nights in Brooklyn.

    The relationship must have gone toxic, and the couple had already gone their separate ways. This is where Gaga starts reminiscing about the old times and their domestic life, from missing their old chandelier to watching Rocky IV.

    So what went wrong?

    The song doesn’t say, but in the next lines we hear about how she found an old pair of keys to the apartment that she shared with her significant other, and it made her want to see him again to see if they can “make it work”. It’s been seven years and she had had a string of bad dates, and was hoping that she could spend a night hanging out with “the old you”. Maybe then, she sings, they can be themselves and tell the truth.

  • Eurythmics To Perform At Beatles Tribute Jan. 27

    On Monday it was announced that Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart of Eurythmics will be reunited on Jan. 27 when they perform as a duo for “The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles”. The event, which will be taped at the Los Angeles Convention Center, will come a day after the Grammy Awards.

    “When it came around to booking this show, what I felt was important was to try and find those artists who not only would be able to interpret Beatles songs, but would also have an … understanding of what they meant,” said the show’s producer Ken Ehrlich in an interview.

    Eurhythmics is a hugely successful pop/rock band that has sold millions of albums worldwide. One of the top hits of the group was “Sweet Dreams,” which was released in 1981. Ehrlich said that the two performers were thrilled to perform at the occasion. However, Ehrlich wouldn’t say which of the Beatles tunes the two musicians would perform. However, it’s already known that John Legend and Alicia Keys will perform “Let it Be” together while Keith Urban and John Mayer will pair up to perform “Don’t Let Me Down”

    The taped event will air February 9th on CBS, 50 years after the Beatles made their U.S. debut on “The Ed Sullivan Show”. The Beatles’ appearance on the show marked a major moment in Western pop culture.

    Ehrlich did not confirm whether Beatles surviving members Paul McCartney or Ringo Starr will be at the event but said more performers will be announced later.

  • Demi Lovato Reveals “Neon Lights” Tour, Kicks Off in February

    Platinum-selling singer/songwriter, Demi Lovato, has been quite a busy beaver these days. But, with today’s massive announcement, it’s quite evident that she’ll be heavily engrossed in her world of music for quite some time – at least for the next six months straight. This morning, entertainment powerhouse company, Live Nation, issued a press release revealing details for Lovato’s highly anticipated “Neon Lights” North American tour.

    The tour bares the name of Lovato’s “Neon Lights” single from her 4th studio album. The single was recently declared double-platinum by the RIAA, which signifies why the heavily favored song was chosen as the name for the tour. The press release went on to furnish the North American dates for the upcoming tour.

    The 27-city tour kicks off February 9, 2014 in Vancouver, BC. After leaving Vancouver, it is scheduled to make various pit-stops in some of the continents most attractive cities like Atlanta, Houston, Charlotte, East Rutherford, and Tampa just to name a few. Lovato’s camp also announced that UK girl-group, Little Mix, and UK rapper, Cher Lloyd would be joining her on the tour. However, Cher Lloyd won’t make her first appearance until the tour makes waves in St. Louis on March 20, 2014.

  • Mandy Moore Says She Wants To Shave Her Head

    Mandy Moore has recently said that she wants to shave her head. The pop star is certainly not the only one feeling edgy after Miley Cyrus recently did the same thing. Is Moore doing it for the same reasons though? It seems that Miley Cyrus just wanted more attention, as if that were possible, and Britney Spears did the same thing years ago as well, as we all remember.

    Mandy Moore, the pop singer and actress has been out of the spotlight for some time now and an act like this one would certainly get her recognized, but is that the way she wants to be known? She said that she has always wanted to cut her hair really short, and might even consider shaving it. In a statement to People Magazine, she mentioned “I’ve always thought about shaving my head too. That’s always intrigued me.” People also reports that she has always considered doing it, but it is just a matter of giving into the impulse for her.

    After growing up in Florida, Moore rose to fame after the release of her single, “Candy” in 1999 and then appeared in the hit teen romance film, A Walk To Rememeber shortly after. A Walk To Remember was released in 2002, a film where she played a high school girl dying of cancer, singing and acting alongside Shane West. Her hair has always been one of her defining features, and fans would certainly have mixed feelings if she were to pull off the act.

    She is also married to Ryan Adams, a fellow singer, and she was questioned on what he would think as well. Men can sometimes be critical when their girlfriends or wives decide to do something drastic like this to themselves, but upon being questioned on the idea, she said “He would totally be down for that. I think he’d think it’d probably be pretty punk!” According to E Online, Mandy realizes that there is a huge difference between wanting to chop off all your hair and actually getting doing it. She says that she wants to do something drastic and cut it really short, but only time will tell if she really ends up doing it.

  • Chubby Checker Penis Length App Lawsuit Moves Forward

    Back in February, a lawyer for famed “The Twist” singer Chubby Checker filed a lawsuit against HP. The lawsuit concerns a (now ancient, in tech terms) app that was released for the Palm OS in 2006. The app is accused of violating the “Chubby Checker” trademark, associating it with “obscene, sexual connotation and images.” The lawsuit claimed that the app damaged Checker’s reputation.

    Titled “The Chubby Checker,” the app supposedly estimated penis length based on shoe size. The app was reportedly offered in the webOS catalog until September 2012 – well after HP had acquired Palm. Though it had been on offer for years, The Chubby Checker was downloaded less than 100 times.

    When the lawsuit was filed, it was easy to dismiss it as frivolous and more about Chubby Checker PR than recompense for a cleverly-named joke app on a dead mobile OS. However, a U.S. District judge has now given the go-ahead for the lawsuit to proceed.

    According to a Reuters report, the Northern California judge has ruled that Chubby Checker can sue HP for trademark infringement due to The Chubby Checker. This is despite arguments from HP’s legal team that neither HP nor Palm created the app, and that they have since removed it from all Palm and HP websites. The judge rejected those claims, finding that HP (Palm at the time) had an app approval process in place, and can thus be held responsible for any trademark violations.

  • Chubby Checker App Lawsuit Filed Against HP For Penis Length Estimator

    In the bizarro lawsuit news of the day, webOS Nation is reporting that a lawyer representing singer Chubby Checker has filed a lawsuit against HP.

    The case revolves around an app for Palm OS called “The Chubby Checker,” which estimated penis length based on shoe size. Palm was acquired by HP in 2010, and the app remained in the webOS catalog until September 2012.

    Though webOS Nation reports that the app was downloaded less than 100 times over the years, the lawsuit claims that HP and Palm violated the musical artist’s “Chubby Checker” trademark and associated it with “obscene, sexual connotation and images,” damaging the man’s reputation significantly.

    The lawsuit is clearly ridiculous, as Chubby Checker’s reputation is almost entirely based around the early 60s song and dance craze “The Twist.”

    It has, however, brought to light the fact that penis length estimator apps are rather popular, at least for Android devices. An app called the Penis Size Calculator, for example, has over half a million downloads and a few hundred of the funniest app reviews that can be found in Google Play.

    If the WebProNews office is any indication, the lack of knowledge about the Chubby Checker app, as well as the nostalgic glee induced by the video below, mean that Chubby Checker’s reputation was probably not damaged by Palm’s penis estimator in any way. The lawsuit is probably more about reminding people that Chubby Checker is still touring rather than repairing the singer’s reputation.

  • Shakira Mixes It Up With A Sea Lion In Africa

    While visiting Cape Town in South Africa, pop singer Shakira got too close to some local sea life and got a show of her own. She commented on the incident on her Facebook page in great detail. Obviously she does’t watch very much Animal Planet or Discovery or she would know that wild animals are not just animated stuffed toys.

    Here’s a couple candid comments from her post about an attack from a sea lion:

    “I thought to myself how cute they were so I decided to get a bit closer than all of the other tourists and went down to a rock trying to pet them doing a baby talk while taking pictures… Suddenly, one of them jumped out of the water so fast and impetuously that it got about one foot away from me, looked me in the eye, roared in fury and tried to bite me.”

    “I just kept eye contact with it while my brother “Super Tony” jumped over me and literally saved my life, taking me away from the beast.”

    “I believe what happened is that it confused the shiny reflection of the blackberry I was taking these pics with, with some sort of fish.”

    It was a close call for Shakira, but it would have been nice if one of the other tourists had explained to her that going down into a wild creatures habitat is same thing as a member of the press climbing to her second story window to snap photos as she leaves the bath; it will piss you off!
