  • Miranda Lambert Ditches Signature Platinum Blond Hair Before ‘Certified Platinum Tour’ … What?

Miranda Lambert will kick off her Certified Platinum Tour in Evansville, Indiana, on Thursday, but she shocked fans Tuesday by surprising fans in Nashville with a popup concert and a new hair color that is anything but platinum.

Miranda Lambert treated about 80 fans with a concert with only a few hours notice sent out earlier in the day.

According to The Tennessean newspaper, Miranda Lambert told the assembled crowd that she and her band “were just ready to play for some people” when they took the stage just three hours after making the announcement.

However, when Miranda Lambert took to the small stage, few noticed her sexy leather short-shorts over sheer tights and a skimpy T-shirt with Nashville written across the the front. Oh no. All eyes were on Miranda Lambert’s darker hair.

The ashy-brown hair completely changes Miranda Lambert’s look and is an ironic twist just before the launch of her tour.

The blond superstar went full-on platinum last summer. Miranda Lambert said the look was inspired by Marilyn Monroe.

“Who wouldnt want to look like Marilyn Monroe? With the album being [called] Platinum I got lighter in my hair because I wanted to pay homage to the title of the record,” she said in July.

Miranda Lambert’s tour will also feature Justin Moore, RaeLynn, Sunny Sweeney, Ashley Monroe and Danielle Bradbery.

  • Miranda Lambert Shocks Fans With Impromptu Show

Miranda Lambert and her band put together a surprise performance for Nashville locals on Tuesday and debuted some new hair in the process.

They gave their fans in Nashville about three hours to get ready and be at the Exit/In club.

According to the Tennessean, Miranda Lambert and crew “were just ready to play for some people.”

“We’re going to do our set with some stuff scattered in,” she said to the audience.

She ten added, “Thanks for waiting in the cold.”

Miranda Lambert played more than 30 songs before the night was over, to the delight of her fans.

She also showed off her new locks.

Miranda Lambert’s platinum shoulder-length ‘do was replaced by shorter, darker hair.

The platinum hair has been Miranda Lambert’s signature look since the release of her Platinum album. The look was inspired my Marilyn Monroe, according to her.

She is even mentioned on Platinum a couple of times.

“I think Marilyn’s an icon to pretty much everybody,” Miranda Lambert said.

She added, “She should be on the record 100 times.”

Well, the darker look is great, but no word yet on what prompted Miranda Lambert to adopt it.

Tuesday’s impromptu show was complete with an over-zealous fan who had to be taken down by security.

“Someone just got tackled,” Miranda Lambert said after the guy tried to make his way onstage.

She added, “It’s not really a club show if someone doesn’t get tackled, have a cat fight, or get thrown out. This is where I got my start.”

That sounds fun! What do you think of Miranda Lambert’s new look?

  • Miranda Lambert Earns First Billboard 200 No. 1 with ‘Platinum’

Miranda Lambert earned her first Billboard 200 No. 1 with the debut of her most recent album Platinum.

The album is Lambert’s fifth, and sold 180,000 copies in the week ending June 8. It released on June 3.

That sales figure marks a 35 percent increase over Lambert’s previous album, Four the Record.

“In addition,” Lambert’s website boasts, “she becomes the only country artist in the 50-year history of Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart to have each of her first five albums debut at [No.] 1.”

“THANK YOU to the music lovers who believe in albums and spent your hard-earned money on 16 songs! 16 songs that all say something important to me,” Lambert enthused. “I hope that they also speak to you, and I hope you enjoy listening to Platinum. Thank you to the incredible musicians, songwriters, producers, and artists that put this record together. I’m the luckiest girl in the world, blessed with the best fans!”

The last female country music artist to earn her first Billboard 200 No. 1 was Taylor Swift with Fearless in November 2008.

Platinum’s lead single “Automatic” hit No. 1 on Mediabase, marking Lambert’s sixth No. 1 solo single in addition to the No. 1 she earned for “We Were Us,” her duet with Keith Urban.

Lambert said she wrote “Automatic” as “a reminder to herself to slow things down, enjoy the moment and remember what it’s like to live more simply.”

“… [W]hen it came time to decide on what would be the first single, “Automatic” felt like the right choice because it’s so true to me and where I am in my life,” Lambert said.

Apparently Lambert’s husband, country music and The Voice star Blake Shelton plans to help his wife take her own advice. He’s gotten their boat in working order so the two can spend time relaxing on Lake Texoma near their Oklahoma home when Lambert gets some time off next week.

“I know when she gets back she’s going to want to do something like that,” Shelton said. “She’s going to want to just go float around and drink or be pulled on a tube …”

  • Miranda Lambert: Hubby Blake Shelton Plans Break

Miranda Lambert has had an incredibly busy, hectic and at times scary week, and it looks like it’s only going to get busier in the weeks to come as she promotes her number one album, Platinum. However, the country singer has something to look forward to — hubby Blake Shelton is preparing a little get-away for his wife.

Speaking with reporters at a news conference Tuesday while promoting his upcoming summer tour, The Voice star said he’s got a plan in place to offer Lambert a relaxing break when she finally gets to return to Oklahoma sometime next week. Shelton said the pair owns a boat on Lake Texoma and he took some time Sunday making sure it works before returning to Nashville.

“I’m not a mechanic, but I managed to get this thing running because I know when she gets back she’s going to want to do something like that,” Shelton said. “She’s going to want to just go float around and drink or be pulled on a tube, something like that. So I figured I’d get me some points here and get the boat running. I’m actually proud of myself.”

Lambert had a scary moment this week when a private jet taking the country music star back to Nashville from New York made an emergency landing in Clarksburg, West Virginia.

The plane lost pressure and the group was forced to spend about three hours on the ground while the plane was repaired, said Wes Vause, Lambert’s publicist. While on the ground, Lambert hung out with firefighters, trying on their appropriately shiny hazmat (Platinum) suits, listening to country music and posting pictures to Instagram.

“All in all, it was a pretty good day,” said Vause.

They really are the sweetest couple.

  • Miranda Lambert: ‘Platinum’ Debuts at Number One, Blake Shelton Plans Break

Miranda Lambert’s new album ‘Platinum’ debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 album chart, beating out both Frozen and 50 Cent’s new album. This is Lambert’s fifth album, and it sold 180,000 copies in its first week. One of the album’s tracks, called ‘Priscilla,’ is about Priscilla Presley and what Lambert imagines life must have been like for her enduring the wrath of the paparazzi while married to Elvis. She was shocked to received a message from Presley herself about the song.

Priscilla Presley included an Instagram photo of herself and her daughter listening to Lambert’s song.

Miranda was humbled by the recognition and quick with her reply.

It was during this incredibly crazy and exciting week for Miranda Lambert that she experienced a pretty scary ordeal as well. The private jet that she and her team were traveling on had to make an emergency landing after losing pressure. After the plane landed safely Miranda shared a photo of herself and her friends captioned, “Our plane had an emergency landing in Clarksburg WV. But don’t worry, we found platinum fire suits. Yes! #platinum”

In light of the excitement and the frightening aspect of Miranda’s crazy week, hubby Blake Shelton decided she needed a break, so he has made the appropriate preparations. So did The Voice coach arrange to send Miranda to a spa or is he taking her to an exciting city where they’ll stay in a 4-star hotel and check out the sights? No. Instead he fixed up their boat. The two own a boat that’s moored at Lake Texoma.

“I’m not a mechanic, but I managed to get this thing running because I know when she gets back she’s going to want to do something like that,” Blake Shelton said. “She’s going to want to just go float around and drink or be pulled on a tube, something like that. So I figured I’d get me some points here and get the boat running. I’m actually proud of myself.”

Sounds like Blake knows exactly what Miranda needs. And it sounds like the perfect way to cap off the hectic promotion of ‘Platinum’ and the scare in the air that Miranda Lambert and her crew experienced.

The thrill of having a number one album has to mean a great deal to Miranda and Blake Shelton is no doubt incredibly proud of his wife. However at the end of the day both Blake and Miranda are country folks, and nothing takes the place of a quiet, relaxing day like the one they’ll enjoy when she gets back home.

  • Miranda Lambert: “People Are Very, Very Mean”

Miranda Lambert has made a name for herself in the country music world as one of the most successful female artists of all time.

However, with the fame comes the tabloids, gossip, and non-stop rumors. “People are very, very mean,” she said of the tabloids that are constantly trying to bring her down.

The main topic seems to be about her and her husband, another fellow country music superstar Blake Shelton, getting a divorce. Miranda is constantly having to slam these rumors and put the speculation to rest. “There are people who literally, their only job is to make other people miserable, and that’s a terrible way to live your life,” Lambert explained.

The tabloids specifically are one of the many subjects that helped Miranda write the songs for her new album Platinum. Her song Priscilla takes on the tabloids directly, and she wrote it alongside songwriter Natalie Hemby. In the song, Miranda sympathizes with Priscilla Presley and the troubles she must have endured by being Elvis’ wife.

“When I get to write with her I think she just lets her hair down,” Hemby said. “She doesn’t have to be Miranda. I’ve known her before she was big and famous … and I asked how she was doing. She said, ‘According to the press I’m pregnant or I’m fat or I’m getting divorced.’ It just went on and on and I just kind of laughed and said, ‘Well, then you must be really successful.’”

Miranda explained that Platinum is all about her life; the good, bad, and ugly. She has put the trials and tribulations of her life into music, and has created one of her best albums yet. “Loretta Lynn said you’ve got to live a life in order to sing about it,” Miranda said. “That’s what I’m doing. The good, the bad and the ugly is on this record. It’s who I am.”

  • Miranda Lambert Takes on Tabloids in Song from New Album ‘Platinum’

Miranda Lambert knows full well the cruelty the tabloids can inflict. She and husband Blake Shelton have been the subject of several tabloid rumors–most of them saying their marriage is over or that The Voice coach is cheating on his young wife. Lambert is striking back in a sense on her new album Platinum. Her song ‘Priscilla’ takes in account how Priscilla Presley once experienced the same kind of tabloid cruelty that she and Blake have endured.

“People are very, very mean,” she says. “There are people who literally, their only job is to make other people miserable, and that’s a terrible way to live your life.”

In ‘Priscilla’ Miranda takes on the tabloids in a very straightforward way. She identifies with the wife of Elvis Presley, imagining how difficult the tabloids likely made their lives, too.

Songwriter Natalie Hemby worked with Miranda Lambert as she gathered material for Platinum.

Miranda Lambert is learning to ignore what the tabloids say and to live her life in the spotlight more comfortably and confidently. She says her recent significant weight loss is a result of learning to control her emotions. The 30-year-old looks fabulous, but then again most people thought she did before she lost the weight–except maybe those tabloid reporters.

Rest assured that Platinum isn’t all about the tabloids. It also features songs about dumping a boyfriend, her love of flea markets, and how she dislikes getting older–all typical fodder for country music songs. It even features a duet with country superstar Carrie Underwood for whom Lambert bought a motorcycle following their recording session.

Miranda is making the rounds doing TV shows this week to promote her new album. On Tuesday she’ll sing in Times Square as she visits Good Morning America.

Monday night she’ll visit with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.

“Loretta Lynn said you’ve got to live a life in order to sing about it,” Miranda Lambert said. “That’s what I’m doing. The good, the bad and the ugly is on this record. It’s who I am.”

Fans love who Miranda Lambert is. She needs to look to them for validation rather than to the tabloids, whose main purpose is to tell lies and cause trouble.

  • Miranda Lambert Announces Album Release Date

Exciting news for all of you Miranda Lambert fans … Miranda has announced the release date for her newest album Platinum.

It has been three years since Miranda released her last album Four The Record, and although a date for the release has been set, fans may be a bit disappointed to know they will have to wait until June 3 to pick up their copy.

So, why Platinum? Miranda explains that it is her favorite color. “Platinum is my hair color, and my wedding ring, and the color of my Airstream and the name of one of my favorite beers,” she said. “It’s about a lifestyle.”

Even though she hasn’t released an album recently, she has still been working diligently on making her next album perfect. She has been spending time working with the Pistol Annies on their latest album Annie Up, and writing songs for Platinum; she wrote over half of the 16 songs.

“From the day you kinda go I need to start looking for songs and writing songs, it feels like no matter how much time you have, you’re rushed,” Miranda said. “And so I didn’t want to rush it at all. To me it’s all about timing and making sure that you can feel like you can finally sit there and go, OK, the album’s done, and never have a moment where you go, I wish we could change that or I wish we had a different song.”

Miranda reveals that Platinum will still exemplify girl power, but in a more toned down sort of way. “There’s humor on this album, and nostalgia, and it’s feminine,” said Miranda. “There’s girl power, not in the ‘I’m gonna burn your house down and kill you, but more where I am as a 30- year-old woman and wife. I’m more settled in life, embracing the good and the bad, and that’s all reflected on Platinum. I still blaze around – but in a less chaotic way.”

  • Miranda Lambert: New Album Release Date Set

Miranda Lambert announced that the release date for her new album Platinum has been set–and it features a duet with Carrie Underwood. June 3rd is the day fans can get their hands on Platinum–and they’ll no doubt be marking that date on their calendars. It’s been a whole two years and eight months since her last album release. Lambert, who is also part of the all girl country band the Pistol Annies extended her tour with the group in 2013, and she released an album with the trio last year, too. This meant she needed a bit more time to perfect her solo efforts.

“From the day you kinda go I need to start looking for songs and writing songs, it feels like no matter how much time you have, you’re rushed,” Lambert said during a recent interview. “And so I didn’t want to rush it at all. To me it’s all about timing and making sure that you can feel like you can finally sit there and go, OK, the album’s done, and never have a moment where you go, I wish we could change that or I wish we had a different song.”

Sources say this is Lambert’s “most ambitious effort yet.” Platinum will feature 16 songs–which is a lot for one album. Producers actually urged her to cut back on the number of tracks, but she bucked convention. A new single released from the upcoming album, called Automatic, soared to the top of the country charts following its release just three weeks ago.

Miranda’s collaboration with Carrie Underwood is called Something Bad, but it’s no doubt going to result in something very, very good for both singers. The two just happen to be at the top of the list of everyone’s favorite female country music stars.

“We’re really rocking in country music and we’re coming together as a force,” Lambert said of the collaboration. “To me, like, if you’re sitting on the front row, you might want to scoot back. It’s a force. It just feels exciting to me. I’m ready to rock.”

Miranda was excited to share the release date and the cover of Platinum with her Twitter fans.

Blake Shelton is no doubt very proud of his wife, and manages to reference her on The Voice every time an opportunity presents itself. Platinum may just go platinum, and that will give Miranda Lambert and her hubby something very big to celebrate together.

  • Miranda Lambert Going ‘Platinum’ in June

Miranda Lambert Going ‘Platinum’ in June

Miranda Lambert has completed her new album, Platinum, the highly anticipated follow-up to her smash album Four The Record, which will be released June 3.

This is the first solo album in more than two years for the CMA-award-winning country singer. She released an album with her Pistol Annies trio in 2013, but this is her first solo album in several years.

The 30-year-old Lambert says this latest endeavor, her fourth album, took a little longer to complete than anticipated.

“From the day you kinda go I need to start looking for songs and writing songs, it feels like no matter how much time you have, you’re rushed,” Lambert said. “And so I didn’t want to rush it at all. To me it’s all about timing and making sure that you can feel like you can finally sit there and go, OK, the album’s done, and never have a moment where you go, I wish we could change that or I wish we had a different song.”

She has released her first single from the album, Automatic, and collaborated with Carrie Underwood on the song, Something Bad, bringing two of the most popular country singers together for the first time.

In a recent Good Morning America interview, Lambert commented on just how good her life is these days and how settled she’s become.

“There’s humor on this album, and nostalgia, and it’s feminine. There’s girl power, not in the ‘I’m gonna burn your house down and kill you, but more where I am as a 30-year-old woman and wife. I’m more settled in life, embracing the good and the bad, and that’s all reflected on Platinum.”
