  • School Stabbing Note: Pennsylvania Teen Detailed Plans

Alex Hribal, the teen suspect in the shocking Pennsylvania stabbing case, may have offered up an explanation for his violent attacks after all.

In a note recovered by law enforcement officials, the 16-year-old allegedly wrote that he couldn’t wait to see the “priceless and helpless looks on the faces of the students of one of the ‘best schools in Pennsylvania’” after he killed them.

The note was apparently signed and dated a mere three days before Hribal showed up to the Franklin Regional High School in Murrysville, Pa. and started stabbing his fellow students.

According to an affidavit, Hribal wounded 20 students and a security guard during the school stabbing incident that occurred roughly two weeks ago.

Aside from this portion of Hribal’s note, nothing else written has been released to the public.

This small section letter is hugely significant as it seems to show the state of mind of the suspect ahead of the violent attacks.

The teen has been charged with numerous counts of attempted homicide, and no doubt this signed note will act as a huge piece of evidence in the case against the suspect.

Patrick Thomassey, a defense attorney for Hribal, declined to comment regarding the note’s content, specifically the fact that the words directly contradict his claims about how the suspect felt about his actions.

Thomassey painted his young client as a frightened teenage boy who was remorseful about what he had done to so many people.

The note paints a remarkably different picture of Hribal. It shows him as almost gleeful about the deaths he intended to cause.

Vice-principal Samuel King said that Hribal had refused to drop the knives during the attack. Allegedly Hribal responded by saying, “No, I am not dropping them, my work is not done, I have more people to kill.”

With eyewitness accounts and his own words to be used against him, it may prove impossible to get Hribal’s case transferred to the juvenile court, which was Thomassey’s intent.

As of now Hribal has been charged as an adult with no less than 20 counts of attempted murder and 21 counts of aggravated assault.

  • Pennsylvania School Stabbing Suspect To Be Evaluated

The 16-year-old responsible for the stabbing of 21 other students and a security guard may be the subject of a mental evaluation. His defense attorney is making the request in order to ensure that his client is tried in juvenile court rather than as an adult.

Attorney Patrick Thomassey admitted during an interview with Good Morning America that Alex Hribal had been responsible for the stabbings.

He said that he expects that any defense put forth regarding the crime will more than likely be based on Hribal’s mental state.

Pennsylvania law dictates that Thomassey will have to prove to a judge in juvenile court that Hribal can be rehabilitated through juvenile court.

A benefit of getting his client’s case moved to juvenile court is that the youth system only has authority over juvenile offenders until the age of 21. If Hribal is tried and charged as an adult, he could be put away for many years.

Thomassey described his young client as “confused, scared, and depressed” and feels that while Hribal understands what he did, he doesn’t appreciate “the gravity of what he did.”

Said Thomassey, “I’m sure that as he wakes up this morning it will start to sink in where he is now and what’s going to happen to him.”

Hribal’s parents have not seen their son since the incident according to his defense attorney.

“They send their best wishes to anybody involved in this,” said Thomassey. “They could not have predicted this was going to happen.”

They also wished for him to express to the public their personal shock and horror at what their son had done.

Despite Hribal’s parents and community being caught off-guard by the violent stabbings, some theories are being floated in an effort to explain the tragic event.

Persons on social media sites are suggesting that Hribal acted out after being a victim of bullying.

Thommassey said that he had “heard that rumor”. For now he’s denying that bullying was the potential reason for his client’s actions.
