  • Michael Jordan and Yvette Prieto Having Twins

Ex-basketball great Michael Jordan has been known to reach double figures on the court, now he’s expecting double bundles of joy, as he and his wife Yvette Prieto have recently announced they’re expecting identical twin girls, according to TMZ.

Word first came on Nov. 30 that the married couple was expecting, and up until this point they’ve done a pretty good job of keeping news of their twins under wraps.

Prieto is a 34-year old Cuban-American model and Jordan at 50 years of age already has three grown children with former wife Juanita Venoy.

Prieto and Jordan tied the knot back in April of this year at Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, Fla and reportedly the 300-person event ran the couple a cool $10 million, which is most likely just a drop in the bucket to Jordan, who still earns $80 million a year, according to Forbes.

The lavish event was attended by celebrity guests like Spike Lee and Patrick Ewing and performances were given by soul singer Robin Thicke and Usher.

In other Jordan news, the Tar Heels alum failed to unload his 56,000-square-foot mansion in the Chicago area during a recent bidding. The asking price for the colossal sized home was $13 million, which dropped from the original asking price of $29 million back in 2012.

The lavish digs include 9 bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, a cigar room, a beauty parlor, a billiard parlor, a library and a basketball court just for starters and it sits on 7-acres of land in Highland Park, Ill.

Currently, Jordan and Prieto share a 28,000-square-foot mansion in Jupiter, Fla., which holds 11 bedrooms, a state-of-the-art gym and other luxurious amenities, so there’s no doubt there will be plenty of room for the newly married couple and their twin girls.

According to a TMZ source, mother and the two babies are doing “just fine,” however they’re hardly providing any information about the delivery date and other details, which is probably a smart move for the celebrity couple.

  • Patrick Ewing Signs on as Charlotte Bobcats Assistant Coach

The Charlotte Bobcats this week hired legendary NBA star Patrick Ewing as an assistant coach.

According to the Charlotte Observer, the NBA team has hired Ewing to serve as “top” assistant to head coach Steve Clifford. His title will be “associate head coach.”

Ewing retired from NBA basketball in 2002, after a 16-year career. He was the first pick in the 1985 NBA Draft, and played for the New York Knicks for 15 years before finishing his career with the Seattle SuperSonics and the Orlando Magic. He was named an NBA all-star 11 times during his playing days, and was NBA Rookie of the Year in 1986. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008.

After retiring, Ewing began his coaching career as an assistant coach with the Houston Rockets. In 2007 he moved on to an assistant coaching position with the Orlando Magic, working under coach Jeff Van Gundy until now.

  • Patrick Ewing to Interview with the Bobcats Next Week

Patrick Ewing’s rumored interview with the Charlotte Bobcats for the head coach position is scheduled to go down next week, according to the Associated Press. However, Ewing is one of several individuals who are interested in filling the vacancy, so there’s no guarantee that the Hall of Famer will be working his magic on the team next year. No pun intended.

An source speaking anonymously told AP that a handful of people have already interviewed for the job, including Golden State assistant coach Michael Malone and Bobcats assistant Stephen Silas, the latter of whom is the son of exiting coach Paul Silas. Additionally, the Bobcats are also interested in speaking with Indiana assistant Brian Shaw, Cleveland assistant Nate Tibbetts, and St. John’s assistant Mike Dunlap.

The Charlotte Bobcats finished out this season with the worst winning percentage in NBA history. When everything was said and done, this year’s record was 7-59. If Ewing does snag the position, he’s going to have his work cut out for him.

There’s been a lot of negative chatter on Twitter about Ewing’s interview with the Bobcats. You can read a selection of these thoughts and feelings below.

  • Patrick Ewing to Interview for Charlotte Bobcats: Twitter Reacts

Patrick Ewing, NBA legend and “Space Jam” co-star, is all set to be interviewed by the Charlotte Bobcats for the head coach position. This news comes shortly after it was announced that current coach Paul Silas would not return next year. Ewing will meet up with Charlotte officials as soon as Orlando is eliminated from the playoffs. Ewing, as you may know, is the assistant coach for the Magic.

Ewing has a history of mentoring large young men; he performed the same task for the Magic as well as Washington Wizards. It’s rumored that he will do the same thing for Anthony Davis should the Bobcats snap him up during the NBA draft. Ewing will have his work cut out for him, as the Bobcats managed to obtain the lowest winning percentage in league history. That isn’t the sort of honor people tend to brag about, so I’m sure Charlotte is hoping that Ewing and Davis could turn the program around.

Are you excited that Ewing may coach the Bobcats? Is this one of the worst decisions to NBA star has ever made? Let us know in the comments section. For your viewing pleasure, have a look at what some people are saying about the news on Twitter.
