  • Outdoor Furniture: Trends You Need To Know About

After months of being practically being held hostage indoors thanks to a seemingly never-ending barrage of snow and cold, temperatures have risen at long last.

Isn’t it great to feel warm weather breezes and cool (rather than absolutely freezing!) rainfall?

With so much time spent inside, it’s also wonderful to be able to get outside and soak up all the sunshine. That’s why you should be looking into outdoor furniture.

After all, you can lounge outdoors and enjoy the sunny weather just as easy as stare at it from inside your home. And if you have the space and the option to jazz up your outdoor space, you should strongly consider doing so.

There are some great outdoor trends that you should be aware of when it comes to outdoor furniture. We’ve come a long way since a simple gazebo and lawn chair.

    Bright And Earthy Tones Dominate

When you think of “earthy tones”, don’t assume the dull browns and olive greens are what are the rage. Think bright colors: Lime greens, sky and baby blues, and bold espresso browns.

Bright colors are also a good for making small spaces seem larger than they are.

If you aren’t interested in sticking to greens, blues, or browns, there are other bright colors to make any space pop. Think yellows and oranges. For a more feminine touch, light purples and pinks are always a good idea.

Bring Light To Outdoor Furniture Spaces

Brighten up your outdoor space with more than just fabulous colors. Consider having dinner outdoors under the lights of an outdoor chandelier.

The combination of tree branches and elegantly lit outdoor tables makes for a fun change from being sequestered indoors due to the weather. Imagine how nice it would be to have dinner under the stars.

An Outdoor Fireplace For When You Feel Chilled

Whether you want to set a romantic mood or enjoy outdoor warmth on those rare cold evenings, you should consider the glow of an outdoor fireplace.

There are all sorts of unique designs that you can do yourself or have built for you. Whichever look you eventually go with, be mindful of space constraints and how the fireplace fits into the overall color and texture scheme of your outdoor space.

Remember, outdoor furniture can and should be every bit as comfortable and colorful as what you’d want to see indoors. Happy shopping!

  • Outdoor Patio Furniture Trends For 2014

Outdoor Patio Furniture Trends For 2014

As the weather starts to warm up more and more people are getting out their outdoor patio furniture or buying new furniture for their decks, patios and porches. Outdoor furniture is great for relaxing and entertaining guests and there are colors and prints to make everyone happy. If you are planning to buy new furniture this spring or want to give your old furniture a makeover, you may want to let one of the 2014 patio furniture trends inspire you.

    Furniture Pieces
This season, outdoor sectionals and conversation sets are more popular than ever. These pieces are perfect for large families or people who have a lot of parties, cookouts or get-togethers at their home. Since these pieces can tend to be expensive, it is best to choose a neutral color or pattern so you can add small details and bursts of colors with throw pillows or other accessories and easily change them when you are ready for something new. You can expect to find outdoor sectionals and conversation set prices starting at around $1200.

    Colors
If you want to make sure your deck or patio is decorated with the most modern furniture, choose one of the hot colors of 2014. Black and white is always in style and a safe choice. Bold colors like teal and dark purple are also hot this year. You can even mix and match colors to make a statement on your deck or porch.

    Patterns
If you aren’t a fan of the chevron pattern, you may be in trouble. Chevrons are everywhere this spring from clothing to wallpaper and even patio furniture. There are numerous colors to choose from and you can always accent your pattern with a solid colored throw pillow. Large floral prints, stripes and paisley prints are also in style, along with bold, solid colored pieces.

The 2014 spring outdoor patio furniture trends are all about being bright and bold and making a statement. Of course, you can always choose to come up with your own trend or combine your own tastes with current trends to come up with something fun and unique.

  • Outdoor Furniture: 3 Ways To Spruce It Up

Outdoor Furniture: 3 Ways To Spruce It Up

It’s officially spring and that means the weather is nice enough to spend more time outside. If you enjoy time outside with your family or friends, you know how important it is to have outdoor furniture where everyone can sit, relax and enjoy each other’s company. If you have had your outdoor furniture for a few seasons, you may notice that it is getting dull and dingy. Before you spend a lot of money on new outdoor furniture, try these tips to spruce up the old.

    Power Wash
Sometimes grime and dirt can get stuck on your outdoor furniture and make it look a lot more worn and old than it really is. You can use a power washer and some extra-strength detergent to get it clean and looking good as new. Be sure to spray from the top to bottom and in all the nooks and crannies. Even if your outdoor furniture doesn’t look as good as you thought when you have finished power washing it, you will still have a better idea of what you are working with.

    Paint
If you want to give your outdoor furniture a new life, a fresh coat of paint can do the trick. If the furniture has cushions, be sure to remove them before painting. Use outdoor paint that is made for the type of material that your furniture is made from. Certain types of furniture may need to be sanded before being painted.

    New Cushions And Throw Pillows
If you have outdoor furniture that is looking old or boring, some new cushions and a few throw pillows can make it look new again. You can purchase new cushions almost anywhere that has a lawn and garden department and you are likely to find it on sale in early spring or late fall. Even if your outdoor furniture doesn’t currently have cushions, you may still want to add some to create a new look.

Before you go out and buy new furniture, work with what you have to see if you can make it look good again. You can give your old outdoor furniture a makeover much cheaper than you can buy new.
