The Neely divorce comes as quite a shocker for everyone!
The successful Food Network couple appeared to be on top of the world.
With their popular cooking show, Down Home With the Neelys, and best-selling book, Back Home with the Neelys: Comfort Food from our Southern Kitchen to Yours, no one would have guessed there was trouble in paradise.
The couple, who closed down their Memphis barbecue restaurant last year, were reportedly soaring to new heights with business ventures on a national level. According to News Channel 11, the couple has a deal for a food line with Green Giant Foods and a partnership with Family Dollar. So, things definitely appeared optimistic.
But, unfortunately, it doesn’t look like they’ll be involved in any joint ventures going forward.
The publication also specified that Gina Neely has filed for divorce after 20 years of marriage. The television stars, who reportedly cited “irreconcilable differences” for the divorce, also released a joint statement in reference to their decision to part ways.
“Today we announce that we are ending our marriage of 20 years for irreconcilable differences. This was a tough decision, but we believe it is the best decision for us,” the statement read.
“As parents of two beautiful adult daughters that we love dearly, we will continue to be involved in each other’s lives as parents and friends. Together we have built a strong brand as The Neely’s,” the statement continued.
“Moving forward our focus will be on our individual brands and we are optimistic about our respective futures. We ask for your prayers as we go through this transition and honor our request for privacy at this time.”
Pat Neely reportedly hasn’t issued a response to the divorce filing. But, fans are definitely responding. Needless to say, most fans find their decision disheartening. Although neither have stated why they’ve chosen to split, sources close to the couple revealed they’ve reportedly drifted apart.
