  • Olivia Munn and Stephen Colbert Have Fun with Her Engagement Rumors

Olivia Munn is not engaged to longtime boyfriend and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, according to Munn herself. But that hasn’t stopped the internet rumor mill from turning.

Earlier this week, tabloid reports said that Munn and Rodgers had gotten engaged over the holidays.

Munn publicly denied the rumors, posting this hilarious text conversation with her mother on Instagram:

But Stephen Colbert wasn’t done confusing Munn’s mother. Munn appeared on The Late Show this week, and Colbert decided to have some fun.

Colbert asked is he could text Munn’s mother, and she obliged.

“Kim, Colberto here. So happy for the engagement!” he texted.

Munn later posted her mom’s response:

Once again, Olivia Munn is not engaged. Watch her say it herself:

  • Olivia Munn Shoots Down Engagement Reports with Funny Text from Mom

Olivia Munn has finally responded to all the rumors that say she got engaged to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers over the holidays.

And she’s done so in hilarious fashion.

It looks like some of those rumors made their way to Munn’s mom, who texted the actress to find out why she wasn’t the first to know.

“Hey why don’t you tell me first,” Munn’s mom apparently texted her.

“Oh my gosh Mom no. You shouldn’t beleive gossip on the internet. If I was engaged, I promised you’d be like the 8th person to know. Maybe 9th. But definitely way before the internet,” Munn replied.

Munn shared the text conversation on Instagram:

    So, there it is.

A recent tabloid report said that Rodgers proposed during a romantic dinner sometime around the holidays.

  • Olivia Munn, Aaron Rodgers Reportedly Got Engaged Over the Holidays

Are Olivia Munn and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers engaged?

That’s the word from one tabloid, which claims the couple got engaged over the holidays.

According to OK Magazine, “Olivia wasn’t expecting it, but they’re so in love he just couldn’t wait.” Apparently, Rodgers proposed during a romantic dinner.

The couple has been dating since 2014.

There’s been no confirmation of this on Olivia Munn’s social media accounts, where she’s pretty active.

Munn and Rodgers’ relationship has been the subject of some trumped-up controversy. During a mid-season slump, some Packers fans and a few sports writers suggested that Munn could be to blame for Rodgers’ string of less-than-stellar performances on the field.

Munn was having none of that nonsense, and hit back at those suggestions.

So, if Munn is now planning a wedding she’ll be splitting time between that and a new CW show she’s developing. She’s producing and co-writing a show about a female sportscaster in the 1970s.

  • Olivia Munn and Aaron Rodgers: Avid “Star Wars” Fans Dress the Part–But Who is the Bigger Fan?

Olivia Munn and Aaron Rodgers are avid Star Wars fans, and they recently dressed the part in a photo posted on social media.

There is definitely some competition between the actress and the Green Bay Packers quarterback, as Olivia Munn wants to know which one of them appears to be the bigger fan.

“Who’s the bigger #StarWars fan…The one who bought this awesome shirt at @oldnavy or the one who already owned his own Obi-Wan Kenobi robe? ?” she captioned the post.

A photo posted by Olivia Munn (@oliviamunn) on

A little friendly competition is good in every relationship. How do you suppose Olivia Munn planned to determine which of them really is the bigger fan? Would she rely on comments? Might she take a count of how many chose her as opposed to Aaron?

Olivia Munn and Aaron Rodgers are no doubt counting the days until Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters. They are down to less than a week.

Do you expect Rodgers might take some ribbing from teammates about his penchant for portraying Obi-Wan Kenobi? Has Olivia Munn outed him against his wishes?

There’s no question as to where Olivia Munn and Aaron Rodgers will be on Thursday night. Will they wear their Star Wars gear to the film? There are sure to be other fans in similarly supportive attire.

  • Olivia Munn Was Pretty Excited About Aaron Rodgers’ Miracle Hail Mary

Olivia Munn was pretty excited about the Green Bay Packers’ shocking win on Thursday Night Football.

“I just lost my voice,” she tweeted, followed by about 20 emojis.

Munn was happy, of course, because boyfriend Aaron Rodgers pulled off a miracle on the final play of the game, giving the Packers the win over the Detroit Lions.

Here’s the no-time-life-on-the-clock Hail Mary, in all its glory:

It was the longest game-winning Hail Mary in the history of the league.

Munn recently hit back at both sportswriters and fans who blamed the Packers’ struggles on her and Rodgers’ relationship.

“A longtime NFL agent told me recently that when he sees one of his top-performing clients play differently, as Rodgers has of late, the first thing he wonders is if something is going on in his personal life. There’s no indication that Rodgers’ relationship status has changed. Lions reporters said they spotted Rodgers’ girlfriend, actress Olivia Munn, at Lambeau Field on Sunday. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that professional athletes have lives away from the field, and you never know what could be going on in their personal lives,” Rob Demovsky wrote for ESPN.com a couple of weeks back.

Munn wasn’t happy with this, and hit back on Twitter.

“Playing it fast & loose w/the journalism @RobDemovsky. Your professional skills are lacking… you must be having personal problems at home,” she wrote.

The Packers, and especially Aaron Rodgers, are looking better now.

  • Olivia Munn Rips Into Journalists Who Blame Her For Aaron Rodgers’ Declining Performance

Olivia Munn didn’t take too kindly to being blamed for her boyfriend’s slump.

Olivia Munn is dating Greenbay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and when his performance seemed to slip recently, ESPN reporter Rob Demovsky tried to pin the blame on her.

In an article titled “Five reasons why Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is struggling”, he wrote, “A longtime NFL agent told me recently that when he sees one of his top-performing clients play differently, as Rodgers has of late, the first thing he wonders is if something is going on in his personal life.”

He added, “There’s no indication that Rodgers’ relationship status has changed. Lions reporters said they spotted Rodgers’ girlfriend, actress Olivia Munn, at Lambeau Field on Sunday. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that professional athletes have lives away from the field, and you never know what could be going on in their personal lives.”

Olivia Munn was quick to hit back at Demovsky.

    Olivia Munn didn’t stop there.

In another tweet, Olivia Munn fired shots at other sports journalists who took a cue from ESPN and ran with it.

Olivia Munn even attacked the source for Demovsky’s possible conclusion.

It turns out, Aaron Rodgers wasn’t having personal issues with Olivia Munn at all. He was playing with an injured throwing shoulder.

Do you think Olivia Munn overreacted a little to the article or do you think she is justified in setting the record straight in such a direct way?

  • Olivia Munn Calls Out Jounalists For Blaming Aaron Rodgers’ Slump On Her

Olivia Munn was none too happy when ESPN journalist Rob Demovsky put her as number five on a list of five reasons why Greenbay quarterback, and Olivia Munn’s boyfriend, Aaron Rodgers might be having a slump.

In his article, Demovsky seems to point blame at Olivia Munn, writing, “A longtime NFL agent told me recently that when he sees one of his top-performing clients play differently, as Rodgers has of late, the first thing he wonders is if something is going on in his personal life.”

After the article came out, Olivia Munn was quick to kick back.

Olivia Munn also called out other sports news outlets that took Demovsky’s idea and ran with it.

As it turns out, the problem isn’t Olivia Munn at all, but a shoulder injury on the arm he throws with.

It seems Aaron Rodgers kept playing with an injured shoulder to keep his locker room pride intact.

He said in an interview, “Some people use the injuries as an excuse. But I think for the guys in this locker room who are out there battling, it’s a source of pride.”

Do you think Demovsky was “playing it fast and loose with the journalism” when he tried to blame Olivia Munn for Rodgers’ recent performance?

  • Olivia Munn Goes On a Rant After ESPN Writer, Others Suggest Actress Is An ‘Off-Field Issue’ for Boyfriend Aaron Rogers

Olivia Munn is not too thrilled with how she was depicted by an ESPN writer, who suggested she is an “off-field issue” for NFL boyfriend Aaron Rogers, or the resulting media response.

After ESPN’s Rob Demovsky suggested in an article on posted on Thursday that the actress may be one of five possible reasons why the Green Bay Packers quarterback “is struggling,” Munn fired back.

“A longtime NFL agent told me recently that when he sees one of his top-performing clients play differently, as Rodgers has of late, the first thing he wonders is if something is going on in his personal life,” Demovsky wrote. “There’s no indication that Rodgers’ relationship status has changed. Lions reporters said they spotted Rodgers’ girlfriend, actress Olivia Munn, at Lambeau Field on Sunday. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that professional athletes have lives away from the field, and you never know what could be going on in their personal lives.”

The 35-year-old The Newsroom alum fired back in a tweet.

“Playing it fast & loose w/the journalism @RobDemovsky,” she tweeted back at him. “Your professional skills are lacking … you must be having personal problems at home.”

Several other media outlets, including Fox Sports and The Washington Post joined in the fray, siding for the most part with Demovsky, to which Munn continued to defend herself.

Olivia Munn found it particularly offensive that Fox and the Post used comments by a “fan” that she labeled a racist.

So what are your thoughts? Is Olivia Munn becoming a liability for Rogers or should everyone just back off?

  • Olivia Munn Hits Back at ESPN Article Blaming Aaron Rodgers’ Struggles on Her

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has struggled recently, there’s no debating that. But why?

According to one ESPN writer, it could be problems at home.

In an article titled “Five reasons why Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is struggling”, Rob Demovsky suggests that it could be the lack of superstar wide receiver Jordy Nelson that’s contributing to Rodger’s struggles. It could be changes to the play-calling. It could be the fact that he’s hiding an injury.

Or, it could be problems with his girlfriend, actress Olivia Munn?

“A longtime NFL agent told me recently that when he sees one of his top-performing clients play differently, as Rodgers has of late, the first thing he wonders is if something is going on in his personal life. There’s no indication that Rodgers’ relationship status has changed. Lions reporters said they spotted Rodgers’ girlfriend, actress Olivia Munn, at Lambeau Field on Sunday. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that professional athletes have lives away from the field, and you never know what could be going on in their personal lives,” Rob Demovsky wrote for ESPN.com.

Munn is none too thrilled with this characterization, and has hit back on Twitter.

“Playing it fast & loose w/the journalism @RobDemovsky. Your professional skills are lacking… you must be having personal problems at home,” she wrote.

When a Twitter follower told Munn not to feed the trolls, she responded by saying,

“The trolls can have their comments, it’s not them I’m calling out, it’s the journalists. Thanks for the love though.”

If you read the comments, there’s a mix of those chastising the writer and ESPN for publishing “such garbage,” and those saying that Munn in “wearing out” the quarterback.

    Trolls gonna troll.

  • Olivia Munn Shows Serious Psylocke Skills In Instagram Video

Olivia Munn is absolutely ready to become Psylocke.

Judging by the video Olivia Munn posted to Instagram, in which she showcases her martial arts skills, she will have no trouble at all.

X-Men: Apocalypse is still filming, with a release date of May 27, 2016.

But, fans of the X-Men and Psylocke can get a sneak peak here, thanks to Olivia Munn:

Olivia Munn previously spoke to Entertainment Weekly about her role as Psylocke and, in particular, that costume.

She said, “It doesn’t matter what I’m wearing as long as we’re all aware of who she is. She’s very strong and she’s very lethal and she’s very powerful, and it doesn’t really matter what she’s wearing as long as you have that strength and that presence.”

That’s great sentiment from Olivia Munn, but she admitted that ideal or not, the costume can be hard to deal with.

She said, “Now, it fits like a glove, but it’s kind of hard because there’s been times where I’m pulling and it pops like a balloon, which did happen day one.”

She added, “Day one, I was like, ‘Uh, guys, uh, do we have a backup? Sorry I popped my crotch.’”

  • Oliva Munn, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender of ‘X-Men’ Offer Hilarious Read of ‘The Big Lebowski’

Olivia Munn, Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender of X-Men: Apocalypse took part in a hilarious table read of the 1998 Coen brothers hit comedy The Big Lebowski.

The reading of The Big Lebowski, a cult-classic film that starred Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, Steve Buscemi and John Turturro, took place during Friday’s Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal.

Also helping out at the festival were Patton Oswalt, Dennis Quaid, Mae Whitman, Mike Judge, Martin Starr and T.J. Miller, People magazine reported.

Olivia Munn and her co-stars took part in the celebrity reading that was organized by director Jason Reitman.

A crowd of about 1,300 were treated with the reading.

According to UPI, one of the funniest moments came when Oliva Munn, who was reading the lines of Bunny, accidentally read a line meant for Jennifer Lawrence, who was reading Maude’s lines. The error resulted in complete confusion for the cast.

“It was highlighted, mother[expletives,]” Olivia Munn said before switching script pages with Jennifer Lawrence.

“We’ve been waiting three hours to get to my part and it’s all falling to [expletive,]” Lawrence joked about the error.

For Friday’s table reading, Michael Fassbender read the part of The Dude (originally Jeff Bridges) while Jennifer Lawrence played Maude (Julianne Moore). Patton Oswalt played Walter (John Goodman), Olivia Munn was Bunny (Tara Reid) and Dennis Quaid made a surprise appearance as the Big Lebowski (David Huddleston).

    Well done Olivia Munn!

  • Olivia Munn Has a Black Belt in Karate, Works Out More Than You

Olivia Munn turned heads when she said she had to be lubed up to slip into her Psylocke costume for the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. While Munn is known for her roles in The Newsroom and Magic Mike, tackling a superhero role in a skintight suit will be a whole new game.

It’s a good thing Olivia Munn stays in shape.

“I’m the fourth of five children,” Munn said recently. “All of us started karate at around age five and studied it until we were about 16 — and we weren’t allowed to stop practicing until we had achieved black belts. The things that stayed with me the most from that training were the discipline not to give up when something feels too hard and the confidence that comes from knowing that if I keep working hard, I’ll achieve my goal, even if it feels impossible.”

While Munn’s martial arts background has given her the confidence necessary for a Hollywood career, she still has anxiety issues. She started seeing a therapist for those, but got a surprise benefit at one session.

“I was going to a hypnotist to help me with my OCD and trichotillomania. One day I told him I didn’t work out, and he said, ‘What do you mean?’ I replied, ‘I don’t know. I just kind of don’t. I yo-yo.’ He said, ‘You have to! It’s good for your anxiety and depression.’ So during one of our sessions, he hypnotized me.”

What happened after that may well be something Munn was grateful for the day they lubed her into that Psylocke costume.

“I’m not exaggerating: That was on a Friday, and by Monday I was working out every day at 6 a.m. If I missed a session, I’d double up and do it the next day. Now I feel so much stronger. I remember running up the steps one day and thinking, This is strange. I could do this a hundred times and be totally OK.”

Olivia Munn is in a well-known relationship with another person who has to stay in great shape, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He also pushes Olivia Munn to be and do her best.

“My boyfriend’s healthiness inspires me. Aaron is different than every other man I’ve ever met … there’s so much I could say. Everything a good person can be, he is. He’s in such great shape, and especially lately, he’s been eating so well and working out. Having somebody in your life like that is so motivating.”

  • Olivia Munn Tells How She Was Hoodwinked by ‘Medium’ Theresa Caputo

Olivia Munn revealed recently that she believes in Theresa Caputo, star of the TLC reality show Long Island Medium. Munn told the story of her meeting Caputo and the conversation that took place between them that convinced her Caputo was the real deal.

“Theresa Caputo and I met at Live With Kelly and Michael in 2012. Within five minutes of meeting me, she said, ‘You had a necklace of your grandmother’s, but I feel like you don’t have it anymore — like it was given away by accident. Does that make sense?’

“It did: When I was little, my grandmother had a glass locket with gold chips in it. I felt a connection to it — but when she passed away, for some reason I gave it to my cousin Carrie. Years later, I found out Carrie no longer had it [it turns out Olivia’s mom had taken it!], which made me upset. So I decided to get another necklace that looked just like it.

“I didn’t tell anyone I had done that; not one person in the world knew. But Theresa did. She said, ‘Your grandmother wants you to know that even though you don’t have the original anymore, she’s really happy that you had a replica made.’ I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh.’ She has a gift.”

Notice in Olivia Munn’s recounting of her meeting Caputo that she was asked, “Does that make sense?”

Why does a question like that matter in the consideration of whether Theresa Caputo is a charlatan or has some real ability to receive messages from dead people?

James Randi, famous for exposing psychic charlatans, points to that as a technique people like Theresa Caputo uses.

“Caputo does what’s known in my trade as ‘cold reading,’” Randi explains about Olivia Munn’s friend. “The very best practitioners can pick up enough information in what seems like innocent, idle conversation to convince you that they know very specific things about you. The scientific phenomenon is called the Forer effect — giving credence to vague observations that seem personal.”

Randi goes on to explain how someone like Olivia Munn may be fooled by Caputo’s performance.

“That technique consists of simply tossing out initials, names and situations to the subject, asking casual questions while guessing, and a handful of other manipulative psychological techniques to appear to be demonstrating psychic powers.”

“’Is there an anniversary coming up?’ A birthday or something?’”

“’He/she just said to me …’ ‘He’s proud of you’ and the ever-popular ‘Do you understand?’ — to which the answer is always a nod of assent. What else is a beguiled believer to do when told: ‘She’s happy in Heaven?’”

  • Olivia Munn Sees Spirit Medium for Anxiety Issues

Olivia Munn once lived through a horrible ordeal that changed her for life.

“About four years ago, I was almost in a plane crash,” Munn says. “Everybody on the plane thought we were going to die … even the flight attendants were crying and screaming. It made me question everything.”

Makes you think twice about punking someone with a “we’re all about to die” stunt, doesn’t it?

Olivia Munn is 35 years old. But her issues began before that. At age 26 she developed a compulsion to yank at her eyelashes. This is called trichotillomania, an OCD disorder. Munn began seeing a therapist that specializes in hypnosis treatments for help with that. Her therapist also helped her enjoy working out.

Still Munn has times when her anxiety kicks in hard.

“With my anxiety, if I’m not in the mood to go out to dinner, I can’t; I almost feel paralyzed,” Olivia Munn reveals. She leans on her friends, particularly her friend Jessica. “When I say, ‘Want to come over to watch TV and sit around in misery?’ she’ll say, ‘Yeah, I want to do that.’ I really admire the ability in a friend to be there for somebody emotionally. That’s a great quality.”

Even her dog Chance is around to help her.

“I was having a tough time earlier this year; one day I broke down on the floor, crying,” Olivia says. “Chance came up and snuggled with me. He’s so smart, so kind … he’s got my heart.”

Friends, a dog, even a hypnotherapist is not too unusual. But Olivia Munn also sees spirit medium Theresa Caputo. The pair met on a talk show.

“After [the plane crash scare], Theresa helped me open up” Olivia Munn says. “Now I believe in God, or whatever you want to call it. I believe that our souls exist past this — and that as long as we’re good to each other, that’s all that really matters.”

  • Olivia Munn Says She Gets Her Fit Body from Hypnosis

Olivia Munn has come a long way since she played video games on TV. Her successful stint on Newsroom made her a household name, taking her out of the shadows of nerd-dom and into the spotlight.

Now Munn appears in the tabloids almost as much as any other hot celebrity, particularly since she is also in a celeb relationship. Boyfriend Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, gets his own share of press. But now Munn tells Good Housekeeping that Rodgers is also her inspiration to saty fit.

“My boyfriend’s healthiness inspires me. Aaron is different than every other man I’ve ever met … there’s so much I could say. Everything a good person can be, he is,” Olivia Munn said.

“He’s in such great shape, and especially lately, he’s been eating so well and working out,” Munn continued. “Having somebody in your life like that is so motivating.”

But even with an inspiring partner to encourage her, Munn was having some difficulty working out. So she went the extra mile, talking with a therapist.

Munn has used therapy to help her with other issues before. She works to control her OCD and trichotillomania — a disorder that is often characterized by a person pulling on their eyelashes, sometimes pulling them out.

“I was going to a hypnotist to help me with my OCD and trichotillomania. One day I told him I didn’t work out, and he said, ‘What do you mean?’ I replied, ‘I don’t know. I just kind of don’t. I yo-yo.’ He said, ‘You have to! It’s good for your anxiety and depression.’ So during one of our sessions, he hypnotized me,” Munn revealed.

Whatever you may personally think of hypnosis as a therapeutic measure, it worked for Olivia Munn.

“That was on a Friday, and by Monday I was working out every day at 6 a.m. If I missed a session, I’d double up and do it the next day. Now I feel so much stronger. I remember running up the steps one day and thinking, This is strange. I could do this a hundred times and be totally okay.”

  • Olivia Munn Outshines Boyfriend Aaron Rodgers With Sword Fighting Skills

Olivia Munn has a new skill, and it’s one in which she seriously outshines her boyfriend. Now bear in mind that her boyfriend is Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and this is a physical skill.

Yes, Olivia Munn had to learn sword fighting for her action-packed roll in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse–due out in 2016. And she’s better at it than Aaron Rodgers.

A couple of days ago Olivia Munn posted a short video clip on Instagram, highlighting some of those sword fighting skills. And her opponent in the clip is none other than Aaron Rodgers.

“Learned some new tricks,” the Newsroom actress captioned her post.

A video posted by Olivia Munn (@oliviamunn) on

What do you think of Aaron Rodgers’s photo-bombing skills? They’re actually better than his sword fighting skills–by far.

Olivia Munn and Aaron Rodgers began dating back in 2014, and things appear to be going very smoothly for the couple.

This past January she dished to Conan O’Brien about the first time she met the handsome NFL star.

“When I met him, I said, ‘So, what do you do?’ And he’s like, ‘Oh, I play football,’” Munn told the late night host. “I go, ‘Cool, what college?’ He’s like, ‘Oh no, I play professionally.’ I go, ‘Cool, what position?’ He’s like, ‘Quarterback.’ That was kinda it, not knowing that he’s like, you know, Super Bowl MVP, or any of those things,… All I saw was that he was really attractive. I didn’t really care what he did.”

Since then, Olivia Munn and Aaron Rodgers have been inseparable. Fortunately she doesn’t hold his sword fighting skills–or lack thereof–against him.

Aaron Rodgers seems quite smitten with Olivia Munn, too.

“I’m real happy in my relationship,” he said in a recent interview. “I understand what comes with it…The last couple years, I’ve learned a lot about perspective and what’s important.”

Do you think Olivia Munn and Aaron Rodgers are in this for the long haul? Might she impress upon him the need for improving his sword fighting skills or simply accept that she’s far better at it than he is?

  • Olivia Munn Shows Up Beau Aaron Rodgers During Training

Olivia Munn has been training hard for her role in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse film, and she recently posted a video on Instagram showing just how well her training has gone.

Munn–who will be playing Psylocke in the 2016 movie–shows off her impressive sword-play moves, spinning it with one hand until it becomes a blur as her boyfriend tries–and fails–to mimic her moves. Green Bay Packer Aaron Rodgers practices with his own staff in the video and doesn’t quite make it, much to the amusement of Munn’s Instagram followers.

The video already has over 35,000 likes on the image-sharing site and has garnered over 3,500 comments, with many of her fans excited to see a sneak preview of her skills.

    Learned some new tricks…

Munn told Conan O’Brien recently that when she first met Rodgers, she didn’t know what he did for a living, much less understand how big he is in the football world.

“When I met him, I said, ‘So, what do you do?’ And he’s like, ‘Oh, I play football.’ I go, ‘Cool, what college?’ He’s like, ‘Oh no, I play professionally.’ I go, ‘Cool, what position?’ He’s like, ‘Quarterback.’ That was kinda it, not knowing that he’s like, you know, Super Bowl MVP, or any of those things,… All I saw was that he was really attractive. I didn’t really care what he did,” Olivia said.

For Rodgers, dating an actress came with the need for understanding regarding the media and how tabloids race to cover their relationship, but he told ESPN that he’s okay with it.

“For one, I’m real happy in my relationship. And I understand what comes with it. And two, the last couple years I’ve learned a lot about perspective and what’s important. And, that you cannot, when you’ve had success individually and collectively as a team and you are highlighted for the things you’ve done on the field and off the field, you cannot hide from the spotlight. You have to learn to embrace it.”

  • Olivia Munn Experienced Racial Frustration from Both Sides

Olivia Munn is all the rage nowadays. Between her own acting career taking off and her headlines with Green Bay Packers boyfriend Aaron Rodgers, Olivia Munn is now a household word.

But it was certainly not always that way. Olivia Munn, like many Americans, is of mixed ancestral heritage. Her mother Kim Schmid is of Chinese descent, and her father Winston Munn is American/European.

Her mother and step-father raised her in Japan from the time she was two years old. So she also speaks Japanese fluently. But in her early days of acting, trying to audition for roles, she says she was often batted back and forth between two different objections.

“I’d go out for so many auditions, for everything. And then I’d be told, ‘You’re too Asian,’ or, ‘You’re too white.’”

It was hard for Olivia Munn to land roles for which there were preconceived notions about the race of the character. But she knew that would one day change.

“I remember someone telling me, ‘Don’t feel bad. One day they won’t be trying to match you to fit with anyone else. You’ll just be hired for you.’ So you can’t help but get frustrated. That’s part of it all. There’s always competition in any business. And all it takes is one role. Not even necessarily a great role. Just one job that makes you feel like you’re a working actor. One job can turn your whole life around.”

Regarding her speaking Japanese, she says it does not really come up much in the context of her work as an actor.

“No, not really. But I was lucky on The Newsroom, because (Aaron) Sorkin wrote an amazing episode where I could [speak Japanese]. He asked me if he could put a few Japanese words in, and I said sure. Then he said, ‘Do you mind if it’s a sentence or two?’ And of course that was fine. And then I get the script and its full-on massive dialogue. Sorkin dialogue is hard enough to do in English – imagine doing it in Japanese … But I was very happy to use it. Even though I’m half Asian, most people didn’t know that I could speak a second language.”

  • Olivia Munn: Did She Unveil Her Psylocke Costume?

Olivia Munn shocked fans when posted a picture to Instagram featuring someone, presumably Munn, in blue spandex and blue gloves.

There is just one side of Olivia Munn’s body that is shown in the pic, but due to symmetry and all, we can make a guess as to what the full costume looks like.

Did Olivia Munn reveal her Psylocke costume for her new role in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse?

    Perhaps.

Olivia Munn’s character, Psylocke, is known for her love of revealing attire, and this outfit would certainly fit the bill.

    If the latex fits…

Then there’s the caption, which reads, “If the latex fits…”

Seems likely that Olivia Munn is dropping a hint that this getup is what we can expect to see her in when she becomes Psylocke.

However, Olivia Munn has admitted to getting a kick out of dressing up in superhero garb.

Olivia Munn once said in an interview with Ask Men, “When I dress up as Wonder Woman, I actually think that I’m more powerful. That is definitely a geeky attribute, when you put on a costume and be like, ‘Oh yeah! I can totally kick ass!’ – when you truly can’t.”

Well, Olivia Munn just might get some practice in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Psylocke didn’t show up in the Marvel universe until 1976. She began in the Marvel U.K. series Captain Britain as Betsy Braddock.

Braddock was a white British woman with the ability to see the future. Betsy Braddock didn’t become Psylocke and part of the X-Men unitl a decade later with the American series, New Mutants Annual.

At that point, she had the power of telepathy. Then in the 90’s, an Asian woman named Kwannon fused minds with Psylocke and they switched bodies.

Olivia Munn as Psylocke should add a very interesting flavor to the X-Men mix.

What do you think? Are you excited to see Olivia Munn as Psylocke?
