  • Erin Andrews Gets Payback From Basketballer Marshall Henderson

They say that what goes around comes around. And that’s certainly the case for Marshall Henderson who waited two years to get back at Erin Andrews.

After Ole Miss guard Marshall Henderson was suspended from the team for a failed drug test, the FOX Sports reporter took a jab at the player and tweeted “He mocking anyone now?” along with a link to a news report.

The NCAA rebel promptly fired back and warned Andrews that he’ll be remembering that particular burn with his tweet “@ErinAndrews ima save that and you will be the first person ill mock.

The suspension did hurt Henderson’s NBA dreams and for the next two years, he played in other countries, most recently in Baghdad, Iraq. But he was apparently quietly biding his time all along, waiting for the perfect opportunity.

And that opportunity happened when Andrews’ NHL player boyfriend Jarrett Stoll was arrested for having cocaine and ecstasy on his person on April 17.

The L.A Kings player was caught with 3.3 grams of cocaine and 8 grams of the substance known as Molly during a security check at the WetRepublic pool party.

Henderson was quick to capitalize on the issue and took to Twitter to take a jab at the Dancing with the Stars host.

While Henderson might find the incident amusing, it’s a good bet that Stoll is not laughing as the incident could hurt his already dwindling prospects with the L.A Kings. The athlete has been on a downwards spiral and had a career low of 17 points in 73 games this season.

Going back to Henderson, it seems his quest for vengeance has already been sated. His tweet has already been removed from his feed.

It’s so refreshing to see that not everyone has a short memory these days.

  • Erin Andrews Dissed by Marshall Henderson for Jarret Stoll’s Drug Arrest

Erin Andrews was no doubt dismayed over boyfriend Jarret Stoll’s drug arrest in Las Vegas on Friday. Former Ole Miss basketball player Marshall Henderson got his digs in at the Fox Sports reporter and Dancing With the Stars costar–definitely adding some insult to her injury.

The Washington Post reports that Marshall Henderson has long awaited the perfect moment for payback directed at Erin Andrews. With Jarret Stoll’s arrest, his time has come. He dissed Andrews solidly via Twitter.

Why did Marshall Henderson want to get back at Erin Andrews? What did she do to him?

It seems Erin Andrews made mention of the fact that Marshall Henderson tested positive for drugs while playing for Ole Miss. He was all too pleased when learning of Stoll’s arrest to diss the sports reporter.

Jarret Stoll was arrested Friday when a security guard uncovered a “pink baggie with white powder and numerous gel-caps with an off-white powder inside consistent with the drug ‘molly’ [the street name for Ecstasy],” the New York Post reports. An attorney for Stoll said that “it’s absolutely premature” to rush to an assumption of guilt. Stoll, 32, was jailed on multiple counts of drug possession–felonies in Nevada–and released after posting $5,000 bail.

Erin Andrews hasn’t publicly replied to Marshall Henderson’s tweet. Do you expect she will?

Or will she simply ignore the diss and take the high road?

Erin Andrews has more to deal with at the moment than worrying about Marshall Henderson’s tweet. She has to decide just how much she loves Jarret Stoll.

Do you think the two will stay together in light of his drug arrest?

  • LSU Fan Dies: Had A History of Heart Problems

It’s been confirmed by officials that the man who died of a heart attack at the LSU-Ole Miss football game on Saturday night had a history of heart issues. The LSU Sports Information Department released a statement regarding the incident. Brian Tingley, 59 years old, had a heart attack during the fourth quarter of the game.

An emergency medical team tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate Mr. Tingley while in the stands. He was sitting in the lower portion of the south end zone when the incident occurred. The Saturday night game at Tiger Stadium reached a record-tying attendance of over 102,000 fans.

A report by Baton Rouge’s Advocate stated, “An Acadian Ambulance spokesman confirmed that its crews responded to ‘a medical call’ in the stands at the stadium at 10 p.m., shortly after the game’s end. He said crews were unsuccessful in efforts to revive him and that a physician on the scene pronounced the man dead.”

No. 24 LSU shocked No. 3 Mississippi in the final seconds of the game. Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace threw an interception, picked off by safety Ronald Martin, with only 2 seconds left in regulation. The pick gave LSU a 10-7 upset victory.

The interception probably should not have even happened. Ole Miss was lining up for a game-tying field goal from 42 yards out. However, after they were called for delay game, LSU coach Les Milles called a timeout. Ole Miss then opted not to kick the field goal and instead ran a play. The decision resulted in Wallace’s first interception in a Southeastern Conference game this season.

It is believed that Mr. Tingley died at the end of the game while celebrating the interception and LSU victory. Director Michael Bonnette said the incident was unrelated to excited fans rushing the field to celebrate the LSU win.

  • Old Miss Frat Chapter Suspended Over Racist Prank

We are not yet out of February which means that Black History Month is not over. This means that somewhere at this very moment a child may be reading about James Meredith. In 1962, Meredith was the first African American student admitted to the previously segregated University of Mississippi.

Almost fifty years after Meredith’s historic graduation from Ole Miss, three students thought it would be funny to hang a noose around his statue. Also around tied around the statue’s neck was the old Georgia state flag and the Confederate battle flag.

The incident occurred last weekend and it resulted in an outpouring of condemnation and outrage.

A $25,000 reward was offered for any information that would lead to the identity of the party or parties responsible. By Wednesday three students were identified as responsible for the “desecration” of the Meredith statue.

The three teens, whose identities have not been released, are said to be white freshman and each 19 years of age.

There is allegedly enough evidence for Ole Miss to build a case against two of the three young men and possibly punish them.

Though law enforcement officials are seeking to try the students criminally for the act, there is no certainty as to whether there is any precedence that would allow for a criminal prosecution. FBI Special Agent Daniel McMullen has said that officials would be expanding their investigation to see if there were any federal violations.

The students are said to have each retained the services of a lawyer.

The three young men were expelled from the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, which also stated they are suspending the Ole Miss chapter indefinitely.

Brian Warren Jr., the organization’s chief executive, said that it was an embarrassment to the fraternity that these young men were previously among their ranks.

“SigEp has championed racial equality and issues on diversity since 1959, when it became the first national fraternity to invite members of all races, creeds and religions to join its membership.”

  • Mitt Romney Spotted Tailgating At Ole Miss

How do previous presidential candidates spend their free time? In Mitt Romney’s case, one spends time tailgating for Ole Miss. It appears that businessman and politician, Mitt Romney, still strives to remain in contact with former employees as his previous employee, Garrett Jackson, was also enjoying the Ole Miss tailgating festivities.

Garrett Jackson, who graduated from Ole Miss in 2009, had at one point served as Mitt Romney’s personal aide. Garrett at least partially contributed to Mitt’s reason to spend leisure time on the tailgating field as well as sitting in the stands observing the game. Since it isn’t every day that the 70th Governor of Massachusetts and the 2012 Republican Party’s nominee for President of the United States visits a game, Garrett shared news of the personal visit on his Twitter page.

Though sixty-six-year-old Romney completed his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young and his joint Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degree at Harvard, he wore the Ole Miss shirt proudly in support of the team. Seeing the former presidential candidate walking among the trees must have been quite the shock for fellow tailgaters. Many took to Twitter in order to share images of their encounters.

  • Ole Miss Gay Slurs: Football Players Being Investigated

Many people are calling for some Ole Miss football players to be suspended following the news that players made gay slurs during a school play on Tuesday. University of Mississippi officials apologized on Thursday for the “borderline hate speech” and are investigating the situation.

The anti-gay slurs occurred during a theater production of The Laramie Project, which is about the 1998 murder of gay college student Matthew Shepard. Garrison Gibbons, a student in the play, said that the atmosphere at the play was “radically different” and that gay slurs could be heard from the audience.

“They were laughing at lines that spoke in negative ways about gay people,” Gibbons said. Gibbons also said that he felt “an incredible amount of judgment and laughter” when his character in the play comes out as gay and even saw some people snapping pictures of him with their phones.

The football players involved apologized to the cast after the play, but Gibbons said that they didn’t find the apologies sincere. “One spoke up and said they were sorry and didn’t mean to hurt our feelings,” Gibbons said. “Another said they found humor in the play and then they were gone and the academic advisor who was with them basically said they had never been to a play before and didn’t know what to expect.”

The University of Mississippi condemned the behavior in an open letter issued on Thursday:

While we work to determine with certainty who disrupted the Laramie Project play, we want everyone within our university community and beyond to know that we strongly condemn the behavior exhibited Tuesday night. As a member of the Ole Miss family, each of us has a responsibility to be accountable for our actions, and these individuals will be held accountable. Our investigation will determine the degree to which any and all students were involved.

Do you think the football players should be suspended or kicked off the team for using gay slurs? Respond below.

Head coach Hugh Freeze also said condemned the gay slurs on Twitter.

The situation has outraged many people, including FOX Sports’ Clay Travis. “I love the South, it’s my home and always will be my home, but I hate ignorance much more than I love the South. And we have way too much ignorance down here, always have,” Travis said. Travis went on to say that if Ole Miss doesn’t take action against the players, then the SEC needs to.
