  • Katie Holmes Stars In New Film And Olay Ad Campaign

Katie Holmes is incredibly busy right now.

The Dawson’s Creek alum has been working on her directorial debut of All We Had, a book-to-movie adaptation that looks really promising.

In addition to that, Katie Holmes will reprise her role as an uncanny Jackie Kennedy in The Kennedys sequel, The Kennedys-After Camelot.

The Kennedys was a brilliant execution of storytelling based on the lives of one of the world’s best known families,” Reelz CEO Stan E. Hubbard said in a statement.

He added, “Katie elegantly portrayed Jackie Kennedy in the first miniseries and now will continue the role as Jackie grows into the Jackie O that the world knows best. Katie is brave, committed and perfect for this role. She is a strong, talented woman who understands how special and respected Jackie Kennedy, and then Jackie Onassis was, as an international icon.”

Katie Holmes will also be helping as an executive producer for The Kennedys-After Camelot and will direct one of the episodes in the four-hour miniseries.

But, that’s not all on Katie Holmes’ plate!

Holmes will begin a new role as Olay’s Global Brand Ambassador and star in a new ad campaign for the skin care company.

“We’re thrilled to have Katie Holmes help us inspire women to realize their best beautiful in the new creative,” says Leigh Radford, Vice President Global Skincare and Olay Franchise Leader.

“Katie – a confident, modern woman – represents Olay and the voice of women worldwide who never settle in skincare.”

Never settle seems to be the theme for Olay’s campaign with Katie Holmes.

Olay recently revealed a survery that discovered that a majority of women feel like it’s never okay to settle.

In the ad campaign, Katie Holmes encourages women around the world to be their best beautiful, whether that is in their lives or their skincare. The campaign will feature Olay’s Regenerist line and other Olay products.

How does Katie Holmes do it all?

  • Katie Holmes Is The New Face Of Olay

Katie Holmes Is The New Face Of Olay

Olay has a new brand ambassador and it is none other than the beautiful Katie Holmes.

It has been ten years since Holmes made her Hollywood debut on the hit show Dawson’s Creek, but her face doesn’t look as though it has aged a bit. This is one reason why we are not surprised that the skincare company decided to sign her as their first ever global ambassador to represent their product.

Holmes, who is a Toledo, Ohio native, recently opened up to People about her decision to partner with the company. The fact that the company is based out of Ohio really helped to tip the scales.

“It’s an Ohio company, so it feels like home to be working with them,” Holmes said. “They really mean something to women. I remember buying Olay in high school because I wanted to look pretty.”

Nowadays, Holmes tries to “feel beautiful on the inside and outside,” and Olay helps her achieve that goal. “Olay is a brand I respect, trust and believe in,” Holmes told Us Weekly in a statement. “I love the products and message to women to never settle and put their best face forward, every day.”

Holmes recently started filming her first set of commercials for the brand in New York City and said she couldn’t wait to use the slogan “Because I’m worth it.”

“I’ve waited my whole life to say: ‘Because I’m worth it’ It is something that has been around since before I was born,” Holmes told E! News. “I’ve always believed that you have to be confident in yourself. Anything can happen if you really work at it. Never give up.”

  • Study Reveals Brand Preferences by Political Party: Are you a BMW or a Jeep?

Buyology Inc.’s new study takes a look at subconscious brand attachments and reveals some interesting contrasts between Democrats and Republicans. What they found is that sometimes the values of your political party give rise to certain brand preferences.

Not surprising, of the over 200 brands included in the study, the two parties mostly disagree about which are the best, but there was some consensus. Both Democrats and Republican agree that Coca-Cola is their favorite beverage. They also both indicate that Visa is their number one credit card of choice.

Who is number one in technology and gadgets? They both chose Apple and Google as the top most desired brands (I am sure most would agree). Beauty products, which seems like an odd place to find consensus, had them both agreeing that Olay is their favorite brand.

Gary Singer, Founding Partner & CEO of Buyology Inc. comments on the interesting results of the study:

“Both candidates and brands have never fought harder for our affection and our votes,”

“It’s never been more important to understand why people make the choices that they do. Brands can learn a lot by having a deeper understanding of the deep-seated connections that drive our decision-making.”

So, now for the contrast you’ve all been waiting to hear about; are you a Jeep or a BMW? But I think you already know the answer to that one. If you’re a Republican, you most likely prefer a BMW, and if you’re a Democrat, you most likely desire a Jeep. Almost cliche, is it not?

Republicans prefer Sharp for electronics and Democrats prefer Sony. As far as gaming systems, Republicans prefer XBOX and Democrats prefer Wii. Coffee? Starbucks for the Democrats and Dunkin’ Donuts for the Republicans.

Most Democrats chose the NFL as their most desired sport, while Republicans chose MLB. The most desired restaurant? Republicans said Subway and Democrats said Wendy’s.

As far as what they watch on television, Democrats like Animal Planet, and Republicans prefer the History Channel. Most Democrats prefer Progressive for insurance coverage, while Republicans typically go with Allstate.

Interesting results. As with any good research study, the results seem to reflect what many could have guessed, especially when we are talking about automobiles and television programming preferences. I doubt this knowledge will help them do a better job running the country, but it’s still fun to take a look at.

It makes me wonder, what’s going on with families that have a BMW and a Jeep in the driveway?
