  • OJ Simpson: DNA Test Results For Knife Found On His Estate Still Pending

A spokesman from the Los Angeles Police Department has quashed claims that a knife found buried on the estate of OJ Simpson does not contain the fallen athlete’s DNA, key evidence that would prove his guilt in the 1994 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman.

The controversial case – which ended in an acquittal in 1995 – hit headlines again a couple of weeks ago when a small folding knife was unearthed from OJ’s former LA estate 2001. The construction worker who discovered the knife turned it over to a police officer, who kept the item with him until January when he finally turned it over to the LAPD’s Robbery and Homicide Division.

No statement has been released regarding the results of the DNA test, but gossip site TMZ published a report on Tuesday claiming that a reliable police source confirmed the absence of OJ’s DNA from the knife.

According to the report, forensic experts were unable to recover any DNA from the knife because “microbes in the soil degraded any DNA to the point it was impossible to get a meaningful result.”

LAPD officer Jane Kim spoke with USA TODAY to refute TMZ’s report, saying that the knife’s lab tests are still underway and that the results could take a week or more to be released.

Another entertainment website called The Wrap also reported that the case’s lead investigator has yet to receive official information from the crime lab. Meanwhile, LAPD officer Ricardo Hernandez has stated that their department cannot provide specific details about the issue at the moment.

Despite the LAPD’s disclaimer, TMZ seems adamant that their source provided them accurate information regarding this latest development in the OJ Simpson case, and that the testing process for the knife has been over for some time.

  • Kim Goldman Not Happy With New O.J. Simpson TV Series, Says Her Brother Ron Was A Hero

Kim Goldman Not Happy With New O.J. Simpson TV Series, Says Her Brother Ron Was A Hero

Kim Goldman, whose brother Ron Goldman was brutally stabbed to death alongside Nicole Brown Simpson more than 20 years ago, is not one of the many people raving about FX mini-series American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.

The series, which premiered its first season on Tuesday, revisits the so-called “trial of the century,” which put former Buffalo Bill O.J. Simpson as the prime suspect of the dual murders. The first episode garnered the highest ratings of any FX show, and while audiences are fascinated by the events of the controversial trial, Kim Goldman says that it has brought back a lot of painful memories to her family.

In an appearance on TODAY on Wednesday, Kim Goldman expressed her disappointment over the show’s lack of acknowledgment for her brother’s bravery and loyalty.

“What I think is unfortunately going to get lost in this is that my brother was doing a good deed. (He) walked in on what we believe was a horrific crime and he didn’t run,” said a tearful Goldman.

“They don’t show that in this and that really sucks. My brother could’ve run and saved his own life and he stayed to help his friend. I want people to remember my brother was a hero.”

The sole portrayal of Ron Goldman in the episode is seen in the opening scene, in which a neighbor of Nicole’s discovers the two dead bodies.  The series consists of ten episodes, so it remains to be seen whether Ron’s story will be given any airtime in the succeeding nine.

Ron Goldman was 25 years old at the time of his murder. He had been working as a waiter at the trendy Italian restaurant Mezzaluna Trattoria, which Nicole Brown Simpson and her friends frequented. Ron had stopped by Nicole’s condo to drop off her mother’s eyeglasses when he was suddenly attacked and stabbed to death just outside the front gate.

Kim Goldman is not Happy with the New O.J. Docu-Series

“I’m forced now to have to endure this week after week,” said Kim Goldman about the harrowing experience of seeing people talking about the case.

O.J. Simpson was infamously acquitted of the murder charges, although he was later found liable for wrongful death and battery against Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

  • Sarah Paulson: Marcia Clark Was Let Down By Women

Sarah Paulson portrays the hard-nosed prosecutor of the highly controversial O.J. Simpson murder trial, Marcia Clark, and while it certainly is the role of a lifetime, she has also discovered some shocking truths about her what her character went through during the ordeal.

The 41-year-old actress stars in the FX mini-series, The People v. O.J. Simpson, which revolves around the events of O.J.’s murder case based on lawyer and legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin’s book, The Run of His life: The People v. O.J. Simpson.

Sarah Paulson Plays Marcia Clark in the First Season of ‘American Crime Story’

During and prior to filming, Sarah Paulson said that she boned up on the details of the case and devoured books, articles, and interviews that she could find about Clark. Needless to say, she ended up becoming a fan of the lawyer and deeply empathizing with her struggles as lead prosecutor in the case.

In an interview with Business Insider, Paulson described the harsh sexist treatment that Clark had to endure while battling it out with O.J.’s high-profile, all-male defense team.

“Because she’s a woman she got the harsher side of the spotlight, and she had no support,” said Paulson. “And this woman in a man’s world, being ripped apart for her appearance, it’s pretty shocking.”

But what shocked her even more was the treatment that Clark received from her fellow women, particularly during a focus group discussion organized by a jury consultant. Most of the female participants criticized Clark for her aggressive presentation and even her appearance, which they deemed un-feminine.

Openly bisexual and a staunch supporter of gender equality, Sarah Paulson expressed her dismay toward the double standard that women are subjected to in the professional world.

“Any of the words, the negative words to describe Marcia Clark, would be positives in a man: aggressive, strong, tough,” she remarked.

Marcia Clark Sings Sarah Paulson’s Praises on ‘The View’

Clark recently appeared on the daytime talk show, The View, and praised Sarah Paulson for her portrayal of her.

“I think it took guts and vision,” said Clark of the way the show dealt with the main issues of the case. “And I got the gift of all time to be played by Sarah Paulson.”

  • Selma Blair Sings Kris Jenner’s Praises Ahead of “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” Tuesday Premiere

Selma Blair Sings Kris Jenner’s Praises Ahead of “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” Tuesday Premiere

Selma Blair took on her role in the upcoming The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story expecting to embody Kris Jenner as best she could. She never imagined the close friendship that would develop between her and the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star.

During a recent interview with E! News, Blair talks about the role and the friendship.

“When I started this little role, I was just so excited to be working with Ryan,” Selma Blair says of producer Ryan Murphy. “But I gained a friend that I cherish, I really do. She’s a warm and generous and open and giving woman. And this was her best friend. This isn’t a story about Kris Jenner, my character, but Nicole Brown Simpson was a young woman with a group of friends who loved her and I know Kris hopes this raises some awareness for domestic violence by revisiting this case and Nicole.”

Blair first met Kris Jenner a day after learning she’d been cast in the role.

“She just told me really intimate sweet things about their friendship,” Selma Blair says, “and the guacamole that [Nicole] made and just things to make it really human to me. Because I watched the case when it happened and it was just nice to have little personal things to put in my back pocket. And to realize that Kris loved her.”

When The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story premieres tonight–Tuesday, February 2–fans will see Selma Blair as Kris Jenner attending the funeral of Nicole Brown Simpson.

“It was right in front of us,” Selma Blair as Kris Jenner whispers through tears. “He always had that temper. He’d be smiling and then she’d mention some guy and he’d start screaming.”

“Did you ever see the pictures of her face after he laid into her?” Connie Britton as Faye Resnick asks. “You know she hid them away, just in case something happened.”

It definitely sounds as though Selma Blair will portray a side of Kris Jenner that most–only aware of her Keeping Up With the Kardashians “momager” persona–are completely unfamiliar with. It also sounds like the show will cast a light over many of the aspects of this tragedy that even those who diligently watched the O.J. Simpson trial back in 1995 missed.

Will you be tuning in this evening to The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story to see Selma Blair as Kris Jenner, Cuba Gooding, Jr. as O.J. Simpson, John Travolta as Robert Shapiro, David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian, and countless others reenact what came to be known as the trial of the century?

Tune in to FX at 10 p.m. for the first of 10 episodes.

  • Kathryn Edwards Finally Confronts Faye Resnick After Holding A Grudge For 21 Years

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Kathryn Edwards finally confronted Faye Resnick over an unresolved issue from 21 years ago.

Last Tuesday’s episode of RHOBH was filled with drama and angst, as Edwards released her resentment towards Resnick. Their dispute stemmed from Resnick’s tell-all book Nicole Brown Simpson: The Private Diary of a Life Interrupted.

The book alleged that Nicole Brown, O.J. Simpson’s wife, had an affair with Edwards’ ex-husband, Marcus Allen, which led to her murder.

Edwards, outraged by the accusation, said Resnick exploited the unfortunate event for fame. She said she had never met or even heard of Resnick before the book was published. Edwards denied the allegation written in the book.

“She capitalized on a tragedy. She wrote a book about it, she posed for Playboy, I’m sure she loved the limelight, I mean come on, she was having her 15 minutes,” she added.

“There’s very few people in my life that I’ve carried a dagger for…She’s one of them,” Kathryn Edwards told her co-stars at a barbecue party organized by Kyle Richards. “For twenty years,” she stressed.

Resnick tried her best to avoid talking about the past, and seemed surprised when Kathryn Edwards told her why she hated her so much. The tension was high as the two women addressed their feud. However, Edwards was not satisfied at all, “There’s a part of me that feels a little cheated ‘cuz I was ready,” she confessed moments after their confrontation. “I was ready to just, like, annihilate her.”

On Bravo blog, Kathryn Edwards, a former model, revealed Faye Resnick has a “sordid past.” She said she only wanted the other party to apologize for what she had done not just to her but to her friend, Brown’s memory. “Desperate people do desperate things,” she wrote of Resnick.

  • Nicole Brown Simpson: Kris Jenner Talks About Her Friendship With Her Ahead of “American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. SImpson”

Nicole Brown Simpson and Kris Jenner were very close friends. Amidst hype over the upcoming American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, Jenner spoke with People magazine about some of the very special moments the two girlfriends shared.

“Nicole was an amazing friend,” Kris Jenner says. “There were some really great precious moments we shared, [ones] that you have when you spend your life with someone.”

Nicole Brown Simpson even helped Jenner through a very difficult time in her life.

“Before I got pregnant with Kendall, I had a miscarriage at three months,” Jenner says. “Nicole really got me through that.”

After healing from the miscarriage, Kris Jenner and Nicole Brown Simpson became workout partners.

“I had never run before,” Jenner explains. “And Nicole would encourage me. She got me running–and she told, me, ‘I promise you’ll get pregnant [again].’”

“In the middle of that, she said, ‘I’m going to give you all of my maternity clothes.’ Allen Schwartz made Nicole this entire wardrobe of maternity dresses. She had them in every color. And she gave them all to me,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star adds.

Kris Jenner did get pregnant again–with Kendall Jenner and later with daughter Kylie Jenner–but Nicole Brown Simpson didn’t live to see either of Kris’s pregnancies.

Kendall Jenner is named Kendall Nicole in memory of Nicole Brown Simpson.

“One day I’ll hopefully be able to say to God, ‘Why did you take her so young?’ But [until then], it gives me great comfort to say my prayers and talk to her. I loved my friend really hard. And [her death] was a loss for so many,” Kris Jenner says.

American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson will detail the trial in which O.J. Simpson was charged with the murders of both Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. It premieres February 2 on FX.

  • Lisa Rinna Reconnects With New “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Star Kathryn Edwards

Lisa Rinna Reconnects With New “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Star Kathryn Edwards

Lisa Rinna reconnected with the new Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kathryn Edwards at fellow co-star Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant. Lisa Rinna and Kathryn Edwards first met when Rinna starred as Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives back in the 1990s.

“She’s either sold her soul to the devil, or she has some sort of special cocktail that she drinks, because she looks exactly the same,” Lisa Rinna says.

When Lisa Rinna brought up O.J. Simpson, however, her conversation with Kathryn Edwards ended rather abruptly.

It was long rumored that Edwards’s ex-husband had an affair with the late Nicole Brown Simpson after she separated from O.J. Simpson in 1992. These allegations first appeared in Faye Resnick’s 1994 tell-all. Resnick has appeared off and on throughout the years on RHOBH.

On Tuesday night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, in addition to Kathryn Edwards’s debut, the topic once again turned to the O.J. Simpson scandal, with Edwards saying she was upset that Lisa Rinna brought the topic up when the two reconnected.

Kathryn and her then-husband, Marcus Allen, were friends with O.J. Simpson and Nicole Brown Simpson. In 1994, after Nicole was murdered, Faye Resnick wrote a book, Nicole Brown Simpson: The Private Diary of a Life Interrupted. In the book, Resnick said Marcus had an affair with Nicole.

“Lisa Rinna is someone I have known for over 20 years, and although we hadn’t kept in contact over time, she’s always someone I enjoy running into. What I wasn’t happy about was that the first thing out of her mouth was O.J….really? OK, if that’s what you think when you see me, I guess I haven’t made much of any impression on you. Beside the fact that I don’t think Rinna ever saw me once with O.J., but whatever. I’ll give her new memories,” Edwards said.

Lisa Rinna wasn’t the only one to bring up the Nicole Brown Simpson affair. Kyle Richards also brought it up, much to Kathryn Edwards’s dismay.

Have Lisa Rinna and Kyle Richards induced unnecessary drama by bringing up a decades old topic to their newest cast member?

How might this all play out in upcoming episodes of RHOBH?

  • Nicole Brown Simpson: OJ Admits To Physical Abuse In Newly Released Interrogation Tapes

Nicole Brown Simpson was brutally murdered in front of her home on June 12, 1994, along with her friend, Ronald Goldman.

After accusations that her ex-husband, OJ Simpson, was the murderer and a lengthy and controversial trial, OJ was acquitted.

However, many continue to believe it was he who committed the crime and he was eventually found responsible for the murders in a later civil trial and was ordered to pay the family of Nicole Brown Simpson $33.5 in damages.

Many of us old enough to remember the trial can conjure up images of a the car chase involving OJ Simpson in a white Bronco after the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, and many could probably tell the tale of the too-small gloves that led to the “if it doesn’t fit, you must acquit” defense battle cry.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKc715al9kg

But, thanks to forgotten footage of an interrogation before the later civil trial involving Nicole Brown Simpson’s family, there will be even more evidence to add to our knowledge about the inner workings of that tumultuous relationship.

In the tapes, which will air in the upcoming documentaries O.J. Speaks: The Hidden Tapes on Oct. 1 and The Secret Tapes of the O.J. Case: The Untold Story on Sept. 30, OJ Simpson admits to physically harming Nicole Brown Simpson.

The tape shows Goldman family lawyer Daniel Petrocelli questioning OJ Simpson. In one instance, Petrocelli asks, “Did you physically hurt her?” to which Simpson simply replies, “Yes.”

He added, “Because I shouldn’t have handled the situation the way I did. I’ve – all my life with Nicole, no matter what was going on, I handled it without being physical with her. And that time I got physical with her and I’m ashamed of it. I wish it not had happened.”

Many other damning statements appear in the video and will be complete in the upcoming documentaries, but Ronald Goldman’s father calls many of the things that come out of OJ’s mouth in the tapes “unfathomable” among other things.

Are you looking forward to seeing yet another facet of the Nicole Brown Simpson murder case?

  • Khloe Kardashian Bedroom Guest: OJ Simpson!

Khloe Kardashian has been the subject of numerous rumors in her time with Keeping Up with the Kardashians. If she’s not fending off tall tales about who she is dating at the moment — or simply ignoring them — she is reading about herself and her old boyfriends or husbands.

Khloe has left everyone guessing about her relationship with French Montana. Khloe is still technically married to Lamar Odom. At any given moment, rumor might erupt about any number of people she has been associated with in the past. And Khloe doesn’t seem to fight these rumors all that much. Her name stays in the tabloids, and only she knows the truth.

But there is one Khloe Kardashian rumor that only Kris Jenner may know the truth about. For years, it has been rumored that Khloe Kardashian’s real father is none other than OJ Simpson.

In 1994, when OJ Simpson was on trial in Los Angeles on charges of murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, Khloe’s father Robert Kardashian was one of his attorneys. In fact, OJ and Nicole were friends of the Kardashian family.

Some have pointed at the physical differences between Khloe and her sisters as conspiratorial “proof” that Khloe is the love child of OJ Simpson and the former Kris Kardashian.

Now Kim Kardashian has revealed that, during the OJ trial, her father had OJ stay as a guest in their house. Kim was living with him at the time, she says.

“It was surreal, with Johnnie Cochran and Robert Shapiro and all these guys having meetings at my dad’s house,” Kim told Rolling Stone.

Kim says that Kris believed OJ was guilty. She and Nicole were close. Robert Kardashian’s defending OJ caused huge tension in the family.

“I definitely took my dad’s side,” Kim says. “We just always thought my dad was the smartest person in the world, and he really believed in his friend.”

What is more, Kim says, OJ Simpson stayed in Khloe Kardashian’s bedroom during parts of the trial.

In the end, of course, the glove didn’t fit, and the jury had to acquit. OJ walked free, and out of Khloe’s bedroom.

  • O.J. Simpson Still Haunts Reality TV Like KUWTK

O.J. Simpson is in jail. Not for killing Nicole Brown Simpson, of course. But many feel that he is where he belongs, nonetheless.

Even though the Trial of the Century, as the O.J. Simpson case was called, is ancient history in the perspective of today’s news cycles, the remnants of that time are still very much with us.

‘We may be through with the past, but the past isn’t through with us.”

One remnant of the O.J. Simpson media circus that is still very much alive can be found in the form of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. When most people first became aware of her brood, Kris Jenner was married to Bruce Jenner, the man who we may notbe able to cal “he” for much longer.

But that Kardashian surname was present in the O.J. Simpson trial in the form of the man Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, et al first called “daddy.” One Robert Kardashian was a member of O.J. Simpson’s legal defense team.

Recently, Kris Jenner released a cookbook that included recipes that she says she got from Nicole Brown Simpson. There are still rumors floating around that Khloe Kardashian is actually O.J. Simpson’s kid.

And now those threads are all coming together in the FX series American Crime Story: The People V OJ Simpson.

In the series, David Schwimmer will play Robert Kardashian, with Selma Blair as Kris then-Kardashian. Cuba Gooding, Jr. will play O.J. himself. And Courtney B. Vance will play Johnnie “if it doesn’t fit, you must acquit” Cochrane.

When the Simpson trial was burning through the 24-hour news cycle headlines, America’s love affair with reality television had not quite started. But this real-life drama played out like a slo-mo drive in a white Ford Bronco as America looked on. We learned more about DNA testing and ugly shoes than we wanted to know.

And O.J. Simpson walked free. Many people have walked free in media-rich trials since. But out reality TV has that all-too-familiar O.J. scent to it, even today.

  • Selma Blair to Play a Younger Version of Kris Jenner In ‘American Crime Story: The People V. OJ Simpson’

Selma Blair is the latest actor to be cast in FX’s upcoming — and much anticipated — miniseries American Crime Story: The People V. OJ Simpson and will play none other than Kris Jenner.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Selma Blair will portray a younger version of Kris Jenner, who was divorced from OJ pal and attorney Robert Kardashian at the time of infamous OJ Simpson 1994 murder trial.

Robert Kardashian and Kris Jenner had four children — Kim, Khloé, Kourtney and Rob, better known as the stars of Keeping Up with the Kardashians on E!

Kris Jenner married Bruce Jenner just one month after divorcing Kardashian, who died from cancer in 2003.

Selma Blair, 42, joins an amazing American Crime Story cast, which includes Cuba Gooding Jr. as OJ Simpson, David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian, John Travolta as defense attorney Robert Shapiro, Courtney B. Vance as lead defense attorney Johnnie Cochran, Connie Britton as Faye Resnick, Jordana Brewster as Denise Brown, and Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark.

This is not Selma Blair‘s first gig with FX. In 2012, she co-starred on the first season of Charlie Sheen’s FX sitcom Anger Management.

  • OJ Simpson Series: Selma Blair Cast as Kris Jenner in Upcoming ‘American Crime Story’ Run

An OJ Simpson series is coming to American Crime Story, and actress Selma Blair has been cast in the role of Kris Jenner. Then, of course, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians martriarch was better known as Kris Kardashian. Her husband Robert Kardashian defended OJ Simspon in the murder trial of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

Into the Woods star Billy Mangussen is set to play Kato Kaelin. David Schwimmer of Friends fame will play the role of Robert Kardashian, who was a close friend of OJ Simpson. John Travolta has been cast as attorney Robert Shapiro. Jordana Brewster will play Nicole Brown Simpson.

Courtney B. Vance of Law & Order: Criminal Intent fame will play attorney Johnnie Cochrane. Cuba Gooding, Jr. will play OJ Simpson.

There has been no word as to who will play Ron Goldman, or if he is even portrayed in the series.

It was back in 1994 that OJ Simpson’s ex-wife and her friend were murdered. OJ Simpson was acquitted after an eight-month long trial in October of 1995.

Will you be tuning in to watch American Crime Story: The People V OJ Simpson? Shooting has already begun on the miniseries in L.A.

Do you remember where you were when OJ Simpson graced TV sets all across the U.S. during his run from police in his infamous white Bronco?

  • Kim Kardashian, Kanye West Explore Kardashian Armenian Roots

Kim Kardashian, along with her husband Kanye West, sister Khloe Kardashian, and two Kardashian cousins visited the country of Armenia this week to explore the Kardashian family’s Armenian roots. Kim and Khloe Kardashian even met with the Armenian Prime Minister to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide.

When Kim Kardashian did a search of her immediate family history, prior to their trip, she learned that their “great-great paternal grandparents fled their small Armenian village of Karakale and the town of Erzurum (in what is now Turkey) in the early 20th century, at a time when it was ruled by Tsar Nicholas II–the last ruler of Russia.”

This meant they escaped the Armenian Genocide, as well as the Russian Revolution that followed.

Khloe and Kim Kardashian’s father, Robert Kardashian, was the son of Helen and Arthur Kardashian, whose grandparents on both sides left Europe for a better life in America in the early 1900s. Robert Kardashian, of course, was best known for his defense of O.J. Simpson during that highly publicized trial. Robert Kardashian died of cancer in 2003.

Even though Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and Khloe Kardashian have more money than the average person can even dream of, it’s nice to see they occasionally take time to reflect on the ways of the world, and on their roots. It’s at least a small testament to the fact that they’re not all about publicity.

Khloe and Kim Kardashian even shared their adventure with their ‘non-famous’ Kardashian relatives.

It’s too bad Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s daughter North West wasn’t a bit older. This could have been a very educational and emotionally powerful trip for her as well.

Perhaps the family will make another pilgrimage to their father’s family’s homeland in the future, when North West can grasp the meaning behind the visit.

  • John Travolta to Play Robert Shapiro on ‘American Crime Story’

John Travolta is headed back to TV for the first time in decades. He will soon play the role of Robert Shapiro in American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson . Sarah Paulson, Cuba Gooding Jr., and David Schwimmer help comprise the cast.

E! News reports that Travolta will portray O.J. Simpson’s defense attorney from the infamous 1990s trial. Paulson will play prosecutor Marcia Clark, Gooding is O.J. Simpson, and Schwimmer will play the role of Robert Kardashian.

Production is set to start early this year. American Horror Story guru Ryan Murphy will serve as director. The first season of American Crime Story is based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson. It follows the events of the trial from the prospective of Simpson’s attorneys.

This will be the first major TV role John Travolta has played since starring as Vinny Barbarino in Welcome Back Kotter . That show ran from 1975 to 1979. He currently stars on the big screen in The Forger alongside Christopher Plummer and Tye Sheridan. He recently wrapped filming of Criminal Activities.

In addition to starring in American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, John Travolta will also serve as producer for the 10-episode series.

  • O.J. Simpson Tries Another Appeal; Last One Failed

O.J. Simpson was tried and convicted in 2008 of kidnapping and armed robbery. He is serving nine to 33 years in a Nevada prison for his role in leading group of men, some of whom were armed, into a Nevada hotel to confront two memorabilia dealers. Simpson says the men had property of his that was stolen from him and were trying to sell it.

After his conviction, Simpson filed an appeal in 2010. He alleged then that he should receive a new trial because some of the prospective jurors were dismissed simply because they were black. The Nevada Supreme Court rejected that claim, which listed eight issues with the trial, saying they were all “without merit.”

Simpson’s attorney Yale Galanter said in 2010 that he planned to fight on with “a very long line of appeals.”

The Nevada Supreme Court did overturn the conviction of one of Simpson’s cohorts because they felt his ability to get a fair trial was hurt by Simpson’s notoriety.

Now Simpson is trying again, this time with another common tactic: He is blaming Yale Galanter, his now-former-lawyer.

Simpson’s new lawyers are saying that Galanter actually knew about the confrontation Simpson was convicted for before it took place. They argue that evidence at the 2008 trial “tended to indicate that Galanter was involved in the alleged conspiracy.”

“Galanter’s personal interest in hiding his pre-incident involvement is sufficiently substantial to indicate the existence of an actual conflict,” their appeal argues.

Simpson insists that he did not know that any of the men that were with him were armed when they confronted the memorabilia dealers. Therefore he feels he should only have been convicted of a lesser crime. He argues that Galanter did not pursue that as a line of reasoning to get him a lighter sentence.

A Clark County District Court judge has already heard Simpson’s argument on this matter and ruled that he failed to demonstrate how Galanter’s actions led to his conviction. Now Simpson’s hope for earlier release lies with the Nevada Supreme Court again.

Currently, Simpson is not eligible for parole until 2017. Many see Simpson’s conviction and imprisonment on these charges as fitting but late punishment for the killing of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman back in 1994. Simpson was acquitted of those charges in one of the most celebrated trials ever. But a later civil trial did find him responsible for their deaths.

  • OJ Simpson Files Appeal For His Jail Release With Nevada Supreme Court

The fate of OJ Simpson now lies with the Nevada Supreme Court after the football star’s lawyers filed an appeal to get him released from jail. Simpson’s lawyers are contesting that a judge had been wrong to deny him a new trial for his 2008 kidnapping and armed robbery conviction in light of information that hadn’t surfaced before.

Patricia Palm, Ozzie Fumo and Tom Pitaro, the lawyers of Simpson, filed the submitted final brief one month after Clark County prosecutors submitted documents saying that there was no need for a new trial for Simpson. Simpson’s lawyers argued that his lawyer in the 2008 trial, Yale Galanter, had conflicted interests and spoiled his client’s defense. Meanwhile, Galanter reportedly denied that any conflict existed.

Simpson is currently serving nine to 33 years in prison after he was found guilty on multiple felony charges for leading a group of men in a confrontation with two sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel in 2007. Two of the men reportedly testified that they had brought guns to the encounter at the request of Simpson.

Simpson didn’t testify during his first trial, but he testified in May 2013 that he didn’t know the men had been carrying guns during the encounter. Clark County District Court Judge Linda Marie Bell heard his claims of ineffective counsel but ruled that he did not deserve a new trial in November 13 because the evidence was overwhelming against him. Bell also said that any errors at the original trial wouldn’t have affected its outcome.

Simpson’s lawyers are arguing in the brief submitted to the Nevada Supreme Court that the outcome would have changed if the issues raised now were raised then. They said Galanter should have challenged the multiple convictions and punishments of Simpson, and that the jury should have been given the option of lesser kidnapping and theft offenses upon deliberation.

  • OJ Simpson Files Appeal in Nevada Court

OJ Simpson Files Appeal in Nevada Court

Football hall of famer O.J. Simpson filed an appeal to be released from a Nevada prison Friday, where he has been serving a 33-year sentence, after being convicted of kidnapping and armed robbery stemming from an incident in a Las Vegas hotel in 2008. The case is now being reviewed by the Nevada Supreme Court.

In September, 2007, Simpson, along with three other men, allegedly broke into a Palace Station hotel-casino room and robbed two men of sports memorabilia at gunpoint. Simpson was initially questioned by police, but denied any wrongdoing, and was released. He was arrested two days later, and was charged with criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, assault and robbery, while using a deadly weapon.

Attorneys Patricia Palm, Ozzie Fumo and Tom Pitaro contest that Simpson was wrongly convicted, because he and his trial lawyer, Yale Galanter, had conflicting interests. Galanter also represented Simpson during a previous appeal in 2010, which the Nevada Supreme Court denied.

Clark County prosecutors filed documents on September 24, saying there was no need for another trial.

Out of roughly 2,400 appeals filed annually, the Supreme Court typically hears only 100 oral arguments. Any decision on the case of “The Juice” isn’t to be expected anytime soon.

Apparently, Yale Galanter, who had denied any conflict existing between he and Simpson, does not possess the same skill set of Johnny Cochran:

Simpson, 67, was infamously acquitted of the 1995 stabbing deaths of his ex-wife and her friend. In 1997, a civil jury in Santa Monica, California, deemed Simpson liable for the wrongful deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. He was fined $33,500,000 in damages.

An auction of Simpson’s Heisman Trophy in 1999, along with various other memorabilia, raised roughly $500,000. The funds went to the Goldman family.

Regarding the Las Vegas incident, it can be assumed that The Juice doesn’t like to let go of his totems.

Simpson will become eligible for parole in 2017.

  • Kris Jenner: New Cookbook Includes Recipe from OJ’s Murdered Wife, Nicole Brown Simpson

Kris Jenner’s new book, titled In the Kitchen with Kris: A Kollection of Kardashian-Jenner Family Favorites, has only been out a few days, but it has already amassed a paltry one-and-a-half star rating on Amazon.

Billed as “a new cookbook and entertainment guide filled with Kris Jenner’s very own insightful tips and favorite recipes” in the description on Amazon, the book touts “nearly 70 favorite recipes that have become the centerpiece of Kardashian-Jenner family traditions.”

It would be one thing if Jenner were just getting bad reviews from people who don’t like the show, and there are plenty of those.

“Save your money. Buy a real cookbook written by someone who actually cooks,” writes one reviewer.

“Just another ploy by the Kardashian clan to make a ton of money without any talent to back it up,” said another.

But some people point out some particular things that make the book cringeworthy.

“Including dead Nicole Simpson’s Chicken Nachos recipe is disturbing,” one reviewer crowed. “This woman has no shame and is everything a Mother should not be. Don’t waste your money on this KOOKbook from HELL!”

“I found the book incredibly pretentious,” wrote another, “with references to her late husband amd also Nicole Simpson, and their ‘favourite dishes’. I definitely don’t think it was the right platform to make a tribute to a murdered woman, for your own personal gain. It was distasteful & unnecessary.”

Kris Jenner was married to Robert Kardashian, a member of O.J. Simpson’s legal defense team that got him acquitted of the murder of wife Nicole. After Robert’s death, Kris was romantically linked to O.J. in the tabloids. There has been speculation that O.J. is actually Khloe Kardashian’s father, but this is repeatedly denied.

At least some people gave the recipes an honest try.

“These recipes in here are bland and tasteless, I made the macaroni and cheese and you would think with all the different varieties of cheese used it would be flavorful but instead I got a very expensive unedible [sic] mass of oily noodles.”

“Please, save your money. I tried 2 recipes. Horrible!”

“Okay, So you figure, ‘How bad could it be?’ Let me tell you. Eat the book itself, it will taste better than the recipes within.”

Kris Jenner’s recent split with husband Bruce Jenner is the latest in her personal branch of reality programming that feeds the massive empire that is Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

  • Does O.J. Simpson Really Have Brain Cancer?

Former NFL football player OJ Simpson has the media swarming! The headlines are endless, but now he’s pushed things to an uncharted level. With his alleged confession to murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown-Simpson, and his claims against reality TV star Kris Jenner, Simpson will stop at nothing to garner attention.

Now, he claims to have brain cancer. So, he’s seeking clemency, and begging President Obama to pardon him due to the terminal illness. Since Simpson has become widely known for publicity stunts, the burning question most are asking is whether he really has cancer or not. Well, the National Inquirer claims he actually does.

The publication reports that Simpson, who is currently serving a 33-year prison sentence at the Lovelock Correctional Centre in Nevada, does have substantial medical reports that have traced a cancerous tumor on his brain. It has also been reported that Simpson suffers from an ‘extreme case of diabetes’. However, he is still undergoing extensive test to confirm whether or not he has terminal brain cancer, reports the Daily Mail.

A source close to ‘The Juice’ even weighed in on Simpson’s condition with the Inquirer. “O.J. says his memory is slipping and he gets painful headaches and other symptoms,” the source stated. “He began suffering dizzy spells; nausea, lapses in memory – and the frightening symptoms continue to get worse,” the source explained. “He put off the doctors for weeks after he first started experiencing the symptoms because he was afraid of what they would find. Now the prison docs are telling him they believe he has a brain tumor. They plan to run a series of tests on him, MRIs and CT scans.”

The only way Simpson could get out of prison at this point is by clemency, since he won’t be eligible for parole for another four years.

The publication also reports that the 1968 Heisman trophy winner has even taken the initiative to personally write to the president about his confinement. He reportedly wrote, “Mr President, I know my life is coming to an end. Please, don’t let me die in prison. I feel the end coming. But I don’t want to die in prison like common jailhouse scum.”

It has been cited that Simpson has been highly inactive throughout the course of his current sentence, only impelling to consume unhealthy foods filled with sugar. “OJ’s doctors have told him he could be dead in as little as three months because of his out-of-control blood sugar and blood pressure,” another source said.

“But OJ doesn’t care. He knows he’s never going to get out of prison, so he refuses to take care of himself.” If the source’s perception is accurate, that would definitely justify Simpson’s weight gain since his imprisonment.

However, the question still looms. Does O.J. Simpson have terminal brain cancer or not?

  • OJ Simpson Allegedly Confesses to Nicole Brown Murder

The year of 1995 became quite a fortunate year for O.J. Simpson, as he was acquitted of double murder charges for the brutal killings of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. The victims were found slashed to death outside Nicole’s condo in Los Angeles, CA.

The O.J. Simpson murder trial became the most publicized case in US history, aptly called “Trial of the Century”. It was the longest trial ever held in California, at a daunting nine months, and costing over $20 million to fight and defend.

When the verdict was delivered, it is said that 91% of the television viewing audience watched it and an unbelievable 142 million people listened on radio to hear the verdict delivered on October 3, 1995.

The biggest percentage of the population believed him guilty. However, he was set free and walked away.

Now OJ is in prison presently, on 12 charges, including armed robbery and kidnapping. Simpson is due for parole in another four years, but because of the news he received recently about the state of his health, he has requested clemency from the president.

The Inquisitr reported that O.J. Simpson has recently been diagnosed with a tumor on his brain which, according to numerous reports, is in fact an advanced form of brain cancer.

In a personal letter to President Obama, pleading for clemency asking that the president show mercy on him due to his deteriorating health, He wrote:

“Mr. President, I know my life is coming to an end. Please, don’t let me die in prison. I feel the end coming. But I don’t want to die in prison like common jailhouse scum.”

Celebritylaundry.com reported that in early January, because of deteriorating health and in a state of depression, Simpson had lost hope and allowed his health to deteriorate further.

According to sources, because of the news of the brain cancer and with just three months to live, is allegedly when the shocking confession came. Apparently inmates repeatedly asked Simpson if he’d murdered Nicole Brown to the point where he admitted that he had.

O.J. Simpson even went a step further and said that he would do it again in a heartbeat if he were faced with the same situation. The witnesses say that since he believes he is a ‘dead man walking’ he doesn’t care what people think anymore.

Unfortunately this is all speculation and there has been no official confession made. Just wait – if he’s turned down for clemency to “die at home” as he has requested … we might just learn more.

  • Kris Jenner Denies Claims That She Used Ecstasy

Kris Jenner’s personal life has been posted all over the news, with her daughter Khloe Kardashian possibly getting a divorce, her separation from her husband, Bruce Jenner, and her youngest daughters, Kylie and Kendall, taking a walk on the wild side, it seems that Jenner may be at her wits end. However, new allegations are being thrown at her by O.J. Simpson’s manager, Norman Pardo, that Jenner once enjoyed “ecstasy fueled parties.”

“Kris was known for having a good time. O.J. says there was a lot of partying going on back then. O.J. always says, ‘[There was] a lot of ecstasy,’” Pardo said. Maybe Pardo has nothing better to do because this is the second time in only a couple weeks that he has made claims against Jenner. The most recent being that her daughter, Khloe, could be the daughter of O.J. Simpson as well. ‘It’s all going to come out sooner or later. Khloe could be OJ’s kid,” Pardo said.

When Jenner was married to her late husband, Robert Kardashian, the couple was very close to Simpson and his wife, Nicole Brown. The went on vacations together and were known to spend most of their time with each other. Kardashian even served as Simpson’s defense attorney during Simpson’s 1995 murder trial where he was acquitted of murdering his wife and her friend, Ron Goldman. “They all took their vacations together. There was a lot of partying going on back then. Kris cheated on Robert – she was known for having a good time,” Pardo continued.

Despite the allegations, Jenner remains firm in saying that she has never used drugs, and that she knows, for a fact, that Robert Kardashian is Khloe’s father. “I have never touched ecstasy in my life,” she said. And as far as Khloe goes, she says, “I have never heard such crap in my life. I was there, right. I gave birth, I know who the dad was. Everything’s good. We’re all good. It’s the family joke because Khloe was blond and not dark-haired. People just … get a life.”
