  • Aaron Hernandez Found Guilty of First-Degree Murder

Aaron Hernandez had the world at his fingertips–a contract with the New England Patriots–and a potential future of fortune and fame. Just moments ago he was found guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Odin Lloyd, and saw that life come to a very abrupt end.

In addition, Hernandez was found guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

When the verdict was read, Aaron Hernandez was visibly upset–fidgeting and taking deep breaths. His lawyer put an arm around his shoulders.

When Aaron Hernandez looked over and saw both his mother and fiancee–Shayanna Jenkins–weeping, he mouthed to them, “It’s okay.’

CNN is now reporting that Aaron Hernandez will once again go to trial–next month, in fact–in the murder of two men outside of a Boston bar.

Aaron Hernandez was on trial for the shooting death of Odin Lloyd. Lloyd’s body was found in an industrial park in Massachusetts not far from Aaron Hernandez’s home.

According to CNN, prosecutors say Lloyd was seen June 17, 2013, around 2:30 a.m. with Hernandez and Hernandez’s friends, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace, in a rented silver Nissan Altima. Later that day, a jogger found his body. He had been shot multiple times.

Odin Lloyd, who was working for a landscaping firm at the time of his death, played football for the Boston Bandits, the oldest semi-pro team in Boston.

Aaron Hernandez will now spend the rest of his life behind bars.

  • Shayanna Jenkins: Aaron Hernandez’s Fiancee Spends Second Day Testifying

Shayanna Jenkins, the fiancee of Aaron Hernandez and mother of his two-year-old daughter, spent her second day testifying at his murder trial for the killing of Odin Lloyd on Monday. She is testifying under a grant of immunity.

On Monday, Jenkins was asked about having removed a box from Aaron Hernandez’s basement, at her fiance’s request. Prosecutors believe the box may have contained the weapon used to murder Odin Lloyd. Shayanna Jenkins explained that Hernandez called her and asked her to remove a box from the basement.

“I believe he said it was important, I’m not too sure,” Shayanna Jenkins said.

She also said she did not ask and was not told what was inside the box. She admitted, however, that she put the box inside a black trash bag and put baby clothes on top of the box inside the bag “just so nothing was exposed.”

“I wasn’t necessarily hiding it from certain individuals,” Jenkins added.

Shayanna Jenkins then claims she put the box in the trunk of her sister Shaneah Jenkins’ car. Shaneah Jenkins was the girlfriend of the murder victim, Odin Lloyd.

Shayanna admitted she was nervous while driving with the box insider her sister’s car, and that those nerves likely prevented her from remembering where she deposited the bag of trash.

“I found a random dumpster, I don’t know exactly where it was located,” she said.

“I really had to play a neutral role as far as trying to comfort my sister. Everyone’s emotions were kind of on me,” Jenkins said when asked how she didn’t remember where she threw out the box in question.

Despite the fact that Aaron Hernandez has likely committed a murder (Shayanna Jenkins said in Friday’s testimony that she asked him once after she learned Lloyd was murdered whether he had killed him, and he said no) Shayanna Jenkins still seems to be covering for him. Do you expect she is doing so out of love and loyalty or maybe out of fear for her own well being.

Aaron Hernandez definitely doesn’t seem like the All-American athlete the New England Patriots signed before his familiarity with dead people started making news.

Shayanna Jenkins does admit that Aaron Hernandez cheated on her in the past, however.

Yet despite his cheating and the fact that Aaron Hernandez is on trial for murder–and will face trial in the murders of two other men–she still wears the sizable engagement ring he gave her.

Will Shayanna Jenkins crack? Or will she maintain that Aaron Hernandez is innocent in the murder of Odin Lloyd?

    Do you think she’s lying?

  • Aaron Hernandez: Former NFL Star Involved In Jail Fight

Former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez, 24, may face more charges due to an altercation he had with an inmate on Tuesday at the county jail in Bristol.

Hernandez is held on weapons and murder charges for Odin Lloyd’s death. Prosecutors also said that he is one of the suspects in a drive-by shooting resulting in two deaths, which happened in 2012. The former football star has pleaded not guilty for the murder charge and is awaiting trial.

According to Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson, an investigation will be conducted on how the two men encountered each other. Hernandez is housed in segregation since he is considered a high-profile inmate. In the unit where he stays, only one inmate is allowed to be out at a time. They will also be studying security videos and doing interviews to know how and why the incident happened. Both Hernandez and the unnamed inmate did not sustain serious injuries.

The brawl was over in just about a minute, as three guards were there to stop the fight. After the investigation, authorities will be deciding if there will be criminal charges or disciplinary action against the two.

Reports say that Hernandez is not allowed to have any kind of contact with other inmates even during mealtime or when doing recreational activities. Hodgson also stated that they will be looking into the possibility of a systematic failure on the jail’s procedures or a bad judgment from a staff member that allowed the two men to get in contact. Authorities also said that they have no evidence of the two men having any relationship in the jail or anywhere else.

Hernandez and the other inmate have since been moved to different jail units until all investigations on the matter have been completed.

There was no comment from Hernandez’s lawyer.

  • Aaron Hernandez: His Link to 2012 Double Murder

A search warrant released on Wednesday details why Aaron Hernandez, a former New England Patriots player, is considered a suspect in a double murder that took place in 2012. Hernandez is already the main suspect in the murder of Odin Lloyd this past June, and is behind bars awaiting trial.

The warrant states that authorities received an anonymous tip about the 2012 murders shortly after Aaron Hernandez’s arrest in the Odin Llloyd case. The tip combined with their own knowledge and memory of that double murder prompted them to investigate Hernandez for the double murder, too.

Police have seen surveillance tapes from 2012 and have determined that Hernandez was in a Boston nightclub called Cure at the same time the murder victims were there. He is also believed to have been inside an SUV that sprayed bullets at a silver BMW shortly thereafter, killing two men inside. Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado were both killed in the shooting. There is some evidence that Odin Lloyd was murdered for talking to others about this 2012 double homicide.

Odin Lloyd’s body was found about a mile from Hernandez’s North Attleboro, Massachusetts home in June.

It wasn’t long after his arrest that the New England Patriots cut ties with Hernandez.

Shortly after Aaron Hernandez was arraigned for the murder of Odin Lloyd, news broke about his possible involvement in the double homicide from 2012.

Things don’t look particularly positive for Hernandez regarding both of these murder cases. He has yet to be arrested for any involvement in the 2012 double murder. It will definitely be interested to learn if a development of that sort takes place in the near future, or if investigators will continue to develop an iron clad case, knowing he is in jail at least until his trial for the murder of Odin Lloyd.

  • Aaron Hernandez Linked To Boston Double Homicide

Details from a search warrant filed in Connecticut show that former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez may have been involved in a 2012 double homicide in Boston.

The warrant does not reveal who pulled the trigger or the motive behind the shooting of  Safiro Teixeira Furtado and Daniel Jorge Correia de Abreu .

Abreu and Furtado were gunned down on July 16, 2012 after leaving Cure Lounge with three other friends when someone in a SUV pulled up next to their vehicle and shot them. The warrant alleges that Hernandez was the driver of that vehicle, a Toyota 4Runner SUV, which matches the one parked at the home of  Hernandez’s uncle in Bristol. No charges have been filed yet and Hernandez’s lawyer was not immediately available for comment.

Hernandez, 24, has already been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of Odin Lloyd. Lloyd was a semi-professional football player whose body was found on June 17 near Hernandez’s Massachusetts home. He pleaded not guilty in that case.

There is yet another case where Alexander Bradley, an acquaintance to Hernandez, filed a civil suit against him for shooting him in the eye in February. Bradley does, however, have a checkered past as he is known for confrontations with police. Bradley was held in a Connecticut correctional center last fall for a drug-related crime. He also has a warrant for his arrest for evading authorities who tried to subpoena him to appear as a witness before a jury investigating the double homicide.

The latest search warrant was reported by the Hartford Courant and was filed in Bristol court. It details phone call recordings and surveillance camera recordings possibly linking Hernandez to the Boston murders. The surveillance video shows Hernandez and Bradley entering the nightclub shortly after Furtado and Abreu. Hernandez and Bradley then leave the nightclub 10 minutes later and Hernandez is seen driving a SUV out of the parking lot. Shortly after, the shooting victims are seen leaving the club at around 12:10 am heading toward the parking lot and Hernandez’s SUV passes by them twice. According to a third man that was in the car with  Furtado and Abreu, a SUV pulled up next to them and shots were fired into their vehicle. Police now say that prison phone call recordings show Hernandez discussing details of the Boston murders between Oct. 4 and Oct. 15.

  • Aaron Hernandez Sued By Victim’s Family

Aaron Hernandez Sued By Victim’s Family

On top of being charged with murder, former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is now being sued by the victim’s family.

On Monday, the family of Odin Lloyd filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against Hernandez in Bristol County Superior Court in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

The wrongful death lawsuit states Hernandez “maliciously, willfully, wantonly, recklessly or by gross negligence caused Odin Lloyd to suffer personal injuries that directly resulted in his death.”

Lloyd’s family are also requesting a judge issue restraining orders to keep the New England Patriots from paying Hernandez the more than $3 million left on his contract, as well as a restraining order that would prohibit Hernandez from putting his North Attleborough home on the market which has been appraised for $1.25 million.

On Thursday Fall River attorney Kevin J. Phelan will explain the “merits” of the restraining orders at a hearing in New Bedford. Phelan represents Ursula Ward, Lloyd’s mother, and the Lloyd estate. Phelan stated in his filings that if the restraining orders are not granted the Lloyd estate will endure “irreparable harm.”

Hernandez was charged in the shooting death of Lloyd on June 17, 2013. The former NFL star has pleaded not guilty.

And in further news involving Hernandez – a woman linked to the former New England Patriot has died.

Tabitha Perry died on Monday after she was found “unconscious and not breathing” in her home. Perry had a child with Thaddeus Singleton III, a friend of Hernandez who died in a car accident in June. A car accident that Perry survived.

Perry’s death requires further study according to the state medical examiner’s office and police are are awaiting the toxicology results before moving further.

Sgt. Jeffry Dobratz said, ”There were no suspicious circumstances found at the time of the investigation.”

Perry is the third person linked to Hernandez who has died in the past six months.

  • Shayanna Jenkins Removed Box Day After Murder

Shayanna Jenkins, the fiancé of former New England Patriot football star Aaron Hernandez, has admitted that she removed a box from their home on the day following the death of Odin Lloyd, which happened on June 17th.

Assistant District Attorney Patrick Bomberg said that Shayanna Jenkins was not forthcoming with information about the location of the box.

“She was asked what she did to the item that Mr. Hernandez instructed her to get rid of; she repeatedly told the grand jury that she couldn’t remember, she didn’t know, she’d thrown it in a dumpster, and she couldn’t tell anybody where it was,” Attorney Bomberg said during his request to have Shayanna jailed and placed on a $5,000 bond.

Janice Bassil, the defense attorney for Shayanna Jenkins, considered the situation differently and attempted to explain her view.

“It seems to me that this is overreaching. The indictment is overreaching. The statement by Mr. Bomberg is overreaching. And the request for bail is overreaching,” Janice Bassil said.

Judge Thomas F. McGuire Jr. was of a similar mind with Bassil and denied the prosecution’s request for bail; however, he did order that Shayanna be present at the next hearing due to take place on November 9th.

At the hearing on Tuesday, Shayanna Jenkins pleaded not guilty to the charge of perjury.

Many questions remain. Investigators noted that Shayanna Jenkins had described Odin Lloyd, who was dating her sister, as being involved in using and selling drugs. District Attorney Bomberg alluded that her description could have had underpinnings of defamation of character.

“The only rational reason she possibly have had to have said that about a man who, it’s important to note, was dating her sister, and about whom purportedly she had just learned had been killed, and the body recovered in North Attleboro, was that there was some motive for her to suggest that he had engaged in untoward conduct, but in fact, that was never true,” Bomberg said.

Janice Bassil explained that her client’s relationship with fiancé Aaron Hernandez “in many ways had elements of what I would refer to as don’t ask don’t tell.”

Officials are still searching for the .45 caliber gun.

  • Odin Lloyd Murder: New Details Emerge

New details have emerged recently in the murder of Odin Lloyd. Aaron Hernandez, formerly of the New England Patriots, was arrested and charged with Lloyd’s murder yesterday afternoon.

During Hernandez’s arraignment today in Boston, a text conversation between Lloyd and his sister, Olivia Thibou, was presented:

Lloyd (3:07 AM): “Did you see who I am with?”
    Lloyd (3:11 AM): “Hello?”
Thibou (3:19 AM): “My phone was dead. Who?”
    Lloyd (3:22 AM): “NFL.”
Lloyd (3:23 AM): “Just so you know.”

A jogger discovered Lloyd’s body at 5:30 PM the following day in an industrial park. He had been shot multiple times, including two shots in the chest while he was on the ground, which were fatal. Thibou testified that she had seen Lloyd leave his home at 2:30 AM with Hernandez and two other men. Surveillance footage from the industrial park shows a Nissan Altima matching the one Hernandez had rented entering the park at 3:23 AM and departing it at 3:27. Workers at a nearby plant reported hearing gunshots around the same time.

Hernandez was arrested yesterday for one count of first degree murder and several firearms related charges. He has pleaded not guilty.

Prior to his arrest he lost a sponsorship deal with CytoSport. Following his arrest he was released by the New England Patriots.

The motive for the murder is unclear, but authorities have recently connected Hernandez to a 2012 double murder. It has been speculated that Lloyd, who was dating Hernandez’s sister’s fiancée, may have had information about that incident.

  • Aaron Hernandez Loses Endorsement Amid Murder Probe

No news has been good news for Aaron Hernandez over the past 24 hours. Despite days of “arrest warrant forthcoming”-type headlines, the former Florida Gator and current New England Patriots tight end remains a free man.

But the ongoing murder investigation that has swirled around Hernandez the past few days is starting to hit his bottom line.

CytoSport, makers of Muscle Milk and other athletic nutrition supplements, has officially ended its relationship with Hernandez.

Hernandez is currently being investigated in connection with the murder of Odin Lloyd, 27, who was found shot dead about a mile from Hernandez’s home in North Attleboro, Mass. Lloyd, a semi-professional football player and friend of Hernandez’s, and the Patriot’s star had been out on the town together the evening of Lloyd’s death.

Once he was identified as a person of interest in the murder investigation, Hernandez allegedly smashed his cell phone and home security system. He also brought a team of cleaners into his home before police could search the premises. Police have now visited Hernandez’s home multiple times.

Hernandez was one of several players cited in a 2012 Sporting News article about rampant behavioral problems during former University of Florida head coach Urban Meyer’s tenure. Prior to the 2010 NFL Draft, Hernandez’s admission that he’d failed multiple drug tests while at Florida damaged his draft stock.
