  • Watch This Guy Beat Ocarina Of Time In Less Than 20 Minutes

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is one of the most revered video games of all time and for good reason. It established almost all of the 3D action adventure conventions that many games still use to this day. It also has become one of the most popular titles among speed runners as of late, and those speed runners are performing some impressive feats.

On Thursday, Cosmo Wright beat The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in 19 minutes and 15 seconds. He broke the previous record of 19 minutes and 20 seconds and became the new world record holder in the process.

Now, wait a minute. Isn’t Ocarina of Time an epic action adventure game that takes a minimum of 15 hours to beat? Under normal conditions, that would be the case. Speed runners operate a little differently, however, by exploiting in game bugs and glitches to skip entire sections of a game. What you’ll see below is Wright exploiting a recently discovered glitch that allows the players to transport directly from the first dungeon to the end of the game:

One particular thing of note is that Wright’s playing Ocarina of Time on the iQue player. For those unaware, the iQue player is a Chinese “game console” that Nintendo released in the nation to get around the infamous console ban. There’s some controversy surrounding its use in speed runs, but Wright argues that it’s perfectly acceptable.

  • This Wii U Kid Will Be Remembered As The N64 Kid Of His Generation

Getting a new game console for Christmas is exciting, especially for children. Some kids, however, take it to another level with just how excited they get. It began with the N64 kid of viral videos past, and now a new star is born.

YouTube user Deongello Vanorsby was dad of the year to his son this Christmas when the young lad was presented with a brand new Wii U. His son got a little too excited though and we’re presented with the viral gold that these kind of videos bring.

In this situation, crying tears of happiness would be the appropriate reaction as the Wii U was the number two most wanted item this holiday season. The additional screaming upon receiving Madden 2013 is just icing on the viral cake.

Years from now, this small boy will look back with fond memories of how his dad put a video of him crying over a game console on YouTube for thousands to see. Kind of like how the N64 kid will forever be associated as such even ten years after the fact.

  • Ocarina Of Time Completed In Less Than 25 Minutes Thanks To Exploit

Exploits and bugs are sometimes a marvelous thing. They allow the player to access areas before they should be allowed to or just create all kinds of goofy problems with character animations or the geography. Sometimes an exploit is so rare or hard to find that it takes players over a decade to find – this is one of those exploits.

A YouTube user by the name of ZeldaFreaksGlitcha has used a recently found exploit to complete the seminal Nintendo 64 classic Ocarina of Time in less than 25 minutes. Let’s put that into perspective here: It took me over 30 hours to beat Ocarina of Time when I first played it years ago. I have tried to do speed runs before and it still took me about 15 hours to get through the entire game.

I’m sure many of you are wondering how a massive game like Ocarina of Time can even be completed in that time without the use of cheats. This is where the exploit comes in. If you fight the boss of the Deku Tree, Queen Gohma, in such a way that kills Link as soon as Queen Gohma dies, you can use an exploit that transports Child Link to the end of the game right as Ganondorf dies.

It’s an impressive feat and made all the more impressive by the fact that it took gamers over a decade to find it. Just to clarify, this is a legitimate exploit with the player not using any kind of cheat. This means that you can go bust out that copy of Ocarina of Time and try it for yourself.

If you don’t want to watch the entire 25-minute run, just skip to the end to watch the hilarious fight between Child Link and Ganon. Nothing is better than watching Link kill Ganon with a Deku Stick.
