  • Nicole Scherzinger: How Her New Album, ‘Big Fat Lie,’ Helped Her Overcome Her Battle With Bulimia

Nicole Scherzinger revealed in 2012 that she had overcome an eight-year battle with bulimia.

She recently shared more details on how she overcame the devastating eating disorder. And not surprisingly, she found comfort and new-found self-esteem through her music.

The former 36-year-old X Factor judge said that writing her new album, Big Fat Lie, was like “therapy.”

“It’s a very personal album to me,” she told the Evening Standard. “It’s a transitional album, and it’s very honest and authentic.”

Scherzinger also shared more details on her eating disorder, which she first revealed in a candid 2012 interview. For eight years, the singer said she felt like “I wasn’t enough, that I wasn’t pretty, that I was fat, and that I wasn’t worthy of more.”

Much has changed over the past few years for the former Pussycat Dolls singer.

“I’m in a different place in my life now,” she says. “I feel a bit more confident and comfortable in my own skin to be able to talk about things that I hadn’t talked about before.”

“It feels good to be truthful, because not everyone’s perfect,” she says. “Everyone always has these pre-conceived notions that you’re glamorous, you don’t have any problems, you don’t have any issues, and we all battle with our own issues.”

The singer says she hopes fans will be able to relate to the difficult issues she addresses in songs on the album.

“I’m addressing some issues and things I’ve battled with in my life in the album and hopefully people can feel like they can relate to it,” she said.

  • Nicole Scherzinger Reportedly Inking $4.5 Million Record Deal, Torn Over X-Factor Future

Former Pussycat Dolls’ singer Nicole Scherzinger has definitely gotten off to a good start for the new year.

According to NBC News, Scherzinger has reportedly landed an impressive $4.5 million recording contract with Sony Records.

The Sun reports that the brunette is actually in the final stages of the contract negotiations needed to effectively secure the deal.

While the 35-year-old singer has yet to confirm or deny the claims, she did take to Twitter and Instagram with an evasive message that insinuates her anticipation for fresh opportunities to come in the new year.

The X-Factor: UK Edition judge also posted a breath-taking Instagram picture, with an inspirational message that also left fans to wonder whether it was relative to landing her new record deal.

The caption for the picture read, “2014! Here’s to new beginnings, a new road, new path, to a #NEW year! #NeverGiveUp on what ur dreams & what ur meant to do & be!”

While Scherzinger appears to be quite elated over her latest feat, it appears she’s still torn over how her future on X-Factor will unfold. In addition to her new record deal, the Killer Love singer is also said to have a ‘number of lucrative endorsement deals’ lined up for 2014.

However, Independent reports that the singer is ‘conflicted about career pursuits’. The Sun also stated that Scherzinger still doesn’t know whether or not she’ll return to X-Factor. An insider close to Scherzinger shared some of the details.

“She’s torn between the two — she loves the show and loves working on it but is conflicted,” the insider said.

“She is taking time out at home with her family to decide what move is best to make. Nicole was the most popular member of the X Factor panel this year and is the real winner in terms of bank-ability,” the insider detailed.

The insider concluded with Scherzinger’s recording contract news. “She is set to sign with Sony and can’t wait to get back to her music, which took a back seat during X Factor.”
