  • Meghan Trainor, ‘All About That Bass’ Singer, Suffering Hemorrhage On Vocal Chords, Postpones Gigs

Meghan Trainor has had to postpone a couple of gigs after it was discovered that she was suffering a hemorrhage on her vocal cords.

Trainer, 21, announced Thursday night via Instagram that doctors diagnosed a hemorrhage on her vocal cords, saying that she will need to rest her voice to allow healing. The diagnosis forced the singer to postpone two gigs of her MTrain Tour.

“I have never missed a tour date before so this is killing me,” she told fans on Instagram. “I love you all very much and want to get healed quickly so I can show you this amazing tour we’ve been working on.”

Meghan apologized to fans for canceling the gigs and letting fans down.

Meghan Trainor also posted a video to Instagram from New York where she expressed her thoughts via text on her phone screen.

The All About That Bass singer also posted a video to Instagram from New York City, where she is getting a doctor’s second opinion, sharing her distress via text on her phone screen.

“So frustrated, but cant make any noise,” she captioned the pic.

These singers need to give those powerful voices a rest. Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger and Sam Smith have also had issues with their vocal cords this year.

On Friday, Meghan thanked her “Megatronz” for “sending so much love” via Twitter.

Give it a rest Meghan Trainor. Your fans just want you to heal up properly.

  • Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne Ready to Start Family

Chad Kroeger, member of the band Nickelback and husband to Canadian singer Avril Lavigne, recently announced they are ready to settle down and have children of their own, as soon as they can find time.

When the two are apart, they steer away from alcohol as well as nightclubs. They like to avoid temptation at all costs. That is, when they are apart. They do not like to be away from each other for more than two weeks at a time. Ground rules such as these are one of the main reasons why their major is so strong.

They love to make time for each other and put a large effort into doing so and try enjoy the small things in life. “I crave the time I can snuggle up with her and watch a movie.”, Kroeger told People.

The couple got married on the French Riveria this past July after seeing each other for just a little over one month. They have been happy ever since and even wrote multiple songs together for Lavigne’s new album.
“We bonded like crazy. It was like we’d known each other forever. It’s a very intimate process, and you have to really open up when you’re songwriting. When it was over and I had to go work with other people, it sucked. So I called him and asked him to come back to L.A. to do some more writing with me, and he was like, ‘Hell yeah!’ ” she told People Magazine, about working with her husband, Kroeger.

One of the first times the pair performed together was at the wedding. They surprised the audience by singing a song they wrote, “If I Said I Love You” while dancing to it.

While Lavigne is working on promotional projects with her new album, Kroger is touring Europe with his band.

  • Instagram and Nickelback Collide to Make Hipster Heads Explode

Ah-look at this photograph-a. Seriously. Look at it. It’s my lunch, and it’s art.

While Instagram mimics actual photography, Nickelback mimics actual music. Therefore it’s fitting that the two would be combined to create this awesomely bad musical parody of the Nickelback song “Photograph.” Check out “Look at this Instagram” below:

  • Avril’s Ex Has A Stunning Halloween Costume

If you were once married to Avril Lavigne and then had to bear the burden of watching her shenanigans with new future hubby Chad Kroeger (of Nickelback fame), you’d probably be a little bitter. Well, Halloween is the perfect time for bitterness, especially when the people involved are easily recognizable with the addition of a wig and a t-shirt.

    (image)

Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley decided to be Avril for Halloween this year, but when he realized he needed a wingman to be Kroeger, he turned to his girlfriend, Best Sport of the Year Ari Cooper. The pair had their laughs–and got quite a few, I’d imagine–before Kroeger got in on the joke and addressed the costumes on Twitter:

    Sick burn, Kroeger.

  • Avril Lavigne Gets Skrillex Hair, Talks Wedding Gown

Avril Lavigne made headlines last month when it was announced that she’ll be marrying Nickelback frontman and fellow Canadian Chad Kroeger after just six months of dating; now she’s promising us the punk rock wedding of her dreams.

When Lavigne married Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley in 2006, she went a somewhat more traditional route rather than following her rocker sensibilities and wore the long white dress. This time around, she says, will be different. The designer in her is coming out during the planning of the nuptials.

“Either it’s something I’m going to design, or partner up with, collaborate with another designer. It might be something that I buy a few different dresses and rip them up and put them all together and dye them,” she said.

No word yet on what hairstyle she’ll be going with yet, but for now she’s rockin’ the Skrillex cut with some pink and green highlights. Perfect for a wedding.

  • Avril Lavigne Engaged To Nickelback Frontman Chad Kroeger

Avril Lavigne engaged is something I thought I would never hear again. The “punk” rock star was already married once to Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley, but split up in 2010. I thought that she would be done with the whole marriage thing for good. It turns out that she wants to give it one more shot with the frontman of the most reviled band on the planet.

That’s right, folks, Avril Lavigne is now engaged to Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger. I’m sure the two found some kind of chemistry to make this work, but I’m just not seeing it. I can at least stomach, and maybe even enjoy, some of Lavigne’s more popular hits. I guess quality of music doesn’t come into play when two musicians get married.

There is plenty of commentary to be had on the announcement, but why waste my breath? The fine folks on Twitter have sharper tongues than I.

  • NickRoll’D: Latest Meme Leads Victims To Nickelback YouTube Video

If you’ve spent any amount of time on the Internet, then you’ve probably been RickRoll’D. For the off chance that a few of you aren’t familiar Rickrolling, it’s an Internet meme form of bait and switch. Someone will send you a link to something you’d be interested in, upon clicking the link you’re taking to YouTube where you’re greeted with the 1987 Rick Astley song “Never Gonna Give You Up“. The video is below for your viewing pleasure:

It now appears that Rick Astley has some competition for his meme crown as the NickRoll is here, and it’s awful.

Nickelback’s latest travesty song, When We Stand Together, is being passed around the Internet, but not necessarily because people like it. Just like the the RickRoll, people are being directed to the video under the assumption that it’s something that they’d actually like to watch. Sadly they’re greeted with the Chad Kroeger repetitiously screeching the word ‘Yeah‘.

If you’d like to punish yourself, check out the video below.

“When We Stand Together” just went up YouTube on November 23, 2011, and it already has over 39 million views. To be fair, tons of people like terrible music, so all those views shouldn’t be attributed to NickRolling.

Let this be a warning to everyone out there: the NickRoll is alive, and it will strike when you least suspect it… just listen to these poor Twitter users:

  • Nickelback to Play Lions/Packers Halftime Show? Not If These Petitioners Have a Say

There are few things more American than Thanksgiving Day football, and there are apparently few bands easier to hate than Nickelback. So when those two forces collided, it didn’t take long for there to be some pretty harsh blowback.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Canadian multiplatinum recording artists Nickelback would be playing the halftime show at this year’s Thanksgiving Day NFL game between the visiting Green Bay Packers and the hosting Detroit Lions. According to the Oakland Press, “It’s not known what Nickelback will perform, but the group will be promoting a new album, “Here and Now,” which comes out Nov. 21.”

And things had just started to turn around for the Lions this season…

If you’ve seen discussion of this news on Twitter and Facebook over the last couple days, you probably realize that this isn’t the most popular decision that’s been made in the interest of the NFL.

And now, angry fans have started an online petition at popular site change.org to protest the choice of musical entertainment. The petition asks the Detroit Lions to replace Nickelback as the halftime performance at the all-important Thanksgiving Day game. Here’s the petitioner’s rationale:

This game is nationally televised, do we really want the rest of the US to associate Detroit with Nickelback? Detroit is home to so many great musicians and they chose Nickelback?!?!?! Does anyone even like Nickelback? Is this some sort of ploy to get people to leave their seats during halftime to spend money on alcoholic beverages and concessions? This is completely unfair to those of us who purchased tickets to the game. At least the people watching at home can mute their TVs. The Lions ought to think about their fans before choosing such an awful band to play at halftime.

The petition just reached 1,500 signatures and is growing rapidly.

In the “why people are signing” comment area, here are some of the top reasons:

They could not have chosen a worse band? What are you trying to do to your loyal fans?

Nickelback is the worst band ever.

The Lions are having a remarkable season for the first time in… well, quite some time. *Quite some time.* I honestly understand what a pain in the ass it would be to reschedule this appearance, but please, at least 80% of anyone cognizant of Nickelback’s presence during halftime will be utterly disgusted, whether it’s a legitimate feeling or not. Also you could probably get Kid Rock to do it for free.

Twitter is pretty amused by the prospect of Nickelback playing the halftime show:
