  • Peyton Manning Misses Practice, Will He Still Play?

Peyton Manning has been playing through an injured ankle for a few weeks now, but it got much worse last week, during their win against the San Diego Chargers. Manning is a veteran quarterback, and will likely bounce back quickly.

He was missing from practice on Wednesday, however it is still likely that he will be able to play against the Chiefs in their next game.

If there is any game that the Broncos need Peyton Manning for, it would certainly be in their game coming up on Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs.

In a surprise to most fans, the Chiefs have a record of 9-0 under their new coach Andy Reid, and quarterback in Alex Smith.

The Chiefs rank No.1 in scoring defense and sacks, while the Broncos lead the league in total offense in scoring. It is certainly a big game that Manning, quarterback of the 8-1 Broncos, would not miss unless something drastically changes. Broncos fans can breathe a sigh of relief in knowing that they will still have their starter on Sunday.

He received a low hit from Corey Liuget last Sunday, and had an MRI in order to find out the seriousness of his injury on Monday. It does not seem to be serious enough to keep him off of the field, which is good news for the Denver Broncos.

Manning has been one of the elite quarterbacks throughout his career, and continues to be one of the smartest play-makers even at this stage of his game. He has been setting records as the quarterback of the Broncos, and had the best first month of any quarterback ever, dominating teams on a weekly basis. Although he missed practice on Wednesday, for the fourth time in three weeks, he has not missed any games yet, and says that this week will be no different.

Peyton Manning knows what it means to play in a big game, and will not miss the opportunity to do so against the Chiefs. He recognizes the importance of the game when saying “It’s big game because it’s a division game. I know there’s a lot of other things that go into it, but it’s an AFC West game. It’s kind of different only playing our third division game this late in the season. That’s why it’s important.”

Denver Broncos fans will be happy to know that Peyton Manning will be seen in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, in what is sure to be one of the most competitive games of the season.

  • Peyton Manning Injures Ankle In Broncos’ Win

Peyton Manning, the all-star quarterback for the Denver Broncos, is apparently not invincible. He was shown limping off the field during their win against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. Manning suffered an injury to his ankle, which is forcing the veteran quarterback to have a MRI on Monday.

Except for a couple mistakes, the Denver Broncos have proved to be a team that is almost unstoppable throughout the 2013 season. Peyton Manning is certainly a big part of their offense, and an integral part of the Broncos team when they win games. If he is to be out, it would certainly crush their team, but they will not know for sure until the results of the MRI come in. They defeated the Chargers 28-20, and have a record of 8-1.

Manning’s ankle was giving him trouble, and following their victory, he said “I’m pretty sore. They kind of got me twice in that lower area. [I’ll] get an MRI tomorrow and will know more then.

Peyton Manning is one of the older quarterbacks, but although coming to the Broncos late in his career may have seemed like a surprising move, he has had incredible success with the team. The Broncos have been one of the most high-powered offenses all year, with Manning leading them to multiple blowout games, and in some cases coming from behind to win.

Despite the injury, and although he does not know what the MRI will say yet, he is still planning to play against the Chiefs next Sunday. The ankle has been bothering him for a while, but he hopes to play next week and says “I had (an MRI) a couple weeks ago. I took a couple hits today, so just kind of an update to see what it says. I’m hoping for no change.”

If there is any regular season game where they truly need him, it would be against a Kansas City Chiefs team that has a record of 9-0. If he is able to play against the Chiefs, he will also be facing off against a vicious defense that has recorded more sacks than other defense in the league.

Peyton Manning was sacked twice by the Chargers, after only being sacked 11 times previously. Although the ankle was bothering him, that didn’t stop him from throwing for 330 yards and four touchdowns, with no interceptions, or just another day in the life of Peyton Manning.

  • Percy Harvin Expected To Return In Week 11

Percy Harvin will finally be making it into the lineup of the Seattle Seahawks in week 11. He is expected to return to practice after week 10, and will likely play in their next game against the Minnestota Vikings.

The Vikings are his former team, and it would certainly make a statement for him if he were able to come back during that game and play against his old team.

Harvin was acquired from the Seahawks during the off-season, in a trade from the Vikings. He had hip surgery on August 1st in order to repair a torn labrum.

The Seahawks are one of the top teams in the league, and while they were looking forward to using him in the lineup, they have still remained to be one of the great teams, and continue to dominate in the NFC especially.

He has been in rehab since his injury occurred in August, and has been forced to miss more time than was originally expected. He seems to be getting better, and his coach is looking at his return positively when saying “All of the signs are really encouraging. He feels good. He’s not having any issues after he works out the next day, so I think we’ve built up enough days here to take a real good positive step. I don’t know what that means in terms of playing next week, but we’re hoping he’ll be able to get some extra work and really jump back into it.”

Percy Harvin would certainly want to make a return against the Vikings especially, in a dramatic entrance that is sure to make the game even more exciting. The return of Percy Harvin will be an even bigger boost for an already stellar Seahwaks team, and put the fear in their opponents. The quick and versatile receiver signed with the Seahawks on March 12 in a deal that sent the Vikings a first-round and seventh-round pick from Seattle in 2013, along with a third-round pick in 2014.

Harvin is one of the most dynamic receivers in the NFL, and will be a key addition to the team, as they near the end of the season, and look to be successful in the playoffs again. Throughout his career, he has recorded 280 career receptions for 3,302 yards and 20 touchdowns.

  • Geno Atkins: Season Ending NFL Injury

Geno Atkins has become the latest victim to fall to injury in the NFL. In a season that seems to be filled with injuries like no other in recent years, the defensive tackle, went down with an injury in their game on Sunday night. It has since been discovered that his injury is a torn ACL, keeping him out for the remainder of the season.

The news of Atkins being out will be a big blow to the Bengals defensive line, and a team that was 6-2 going into the game on Thursday, which they lost 22-20 in overtime on a safety from Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake.

The Cincinnati Bengals were one of the top teams in the league, but with a 6-3 record and the loss of Geno Atkins, their future is uncertain, and will certainly need some help along the way.

Atkins is a defensive tackle who has been in the league for four years, and has made it to the Pro Bowl. While they are slipping up with a loss and an injury to a top defender, they are lucky to be in a division that is struggling this year, and are the only team to have a record above .500.

The injury to Geno Atkins is certainly a big loss to the team, especially after already losing four players to injury just four days before in their win against the New York Jets. He was initially ruled out with a knee injury, after his leg appeared to roll up underneath one of his teammates and a Dolphins ball carrier who was being tackled at the end of a 3-yard run.

He was forced to roll over onto his side and take off his helmet, looking for help as soon as the play was over. He will be missed by his teammates and especially those on the line with him. Nose tackle Domata Peko said of his teammate, “I think all of us are going to have to get better missing big Geno. He’s a lot to the defense and a big part of this team.”

Geno Atkins even took to twitter to thank everyone for the support, and show his excitement for returning next year.

In their next two games following Geno Atkins’ departure, the Cincinnati Bengals will face off against two other teams in their division. They play against the Ravens and Browns, which will be important games to win if they want to stay at the top of the division.
