  • Megan Fox Gushes About Her Teenage Ninja Turtle Crush

Megan Fox may be starring in the new Michael Bay-directed reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but her deep admiration for the famed 1980s cartoon is nothing new. As a matter of fact, she’s had a thing for one ninja turtle in particular for quite some time.

According to Cover Media, the 28-year-old actress recently sat down for an interview with MTV. She discussed details about the upcoming film, and shared some personal information about her love for the series. She revealed that she’s had a crush on Michelangelo since she was a teenager. He was actually her “first crush.”

“My first crush, and everyone thinks this is really weird, but little girls have crushes on animated characters, and my first crush was Michaelangelo,” Fox laughed.

The Transformers actress, who stars in the new science-fiction action-comedy film alongside Will Arnett, Johnny Knoxville and Whoopi Goldberg, also shared her excitement and anticipation toward the release of the movie. “So I’m super excited. They were my favorite movies as a kid. That was my thing. Way, way more so than Star Wars or in later years, still more than Lord of the Rings. It was always Ninja Turtles.”

Arnett also weighed in with interesting facts about the upcoming film, sharing a few details about the set and production. “There is time in the sewers. There is time in the lair. There’s all of it,” Will said of the movie’s sets. “I think we’ve done a really good job in staying true to the mythology and then telling a new story, telling a new version.”

The new film will be Fox’s first since welcoming her second son, Bohdi, with her husband, former 90210 star Brian Austin Green back in February.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on August 8, 2014.

  • Emily Blunt Dissed ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ Co-star Tom Cruise? Yes, She Did!

Emily Blunt used to feel some kind of way about Tom Cruise!

However, her sentiments were much less than admirable. As a matter of fact, she didn’t like him very much.

Back in 2005, the 31-year-old actress reportedly told The Telegraph that she’d much prefer taking low-budget theater jobs for the rest of her life than star “as a spear carrier in a Tom Cruise movie.”

The infamous comment was definitely a low-blow to the famed Last Samurai actor. However, the Edge of Tomorrow actress is now insisting that she never said such a thing. “I never said that!” Blunt said when she spoke with The Telegraph again on Sunday, May 25. “What an awful  thing to say.”

Although Blunt denied the allegations, the reporter had hard evidence – a copy of the newspaper clip where she was quoted. The reporter made it clear that she actually did make such an “awful” comment. The actress could only burst into laughter, and accept the cold hard facts!

“That is so funny,” Blunt said. “Well, at least I’m not a spear carrier,” she quipped. The ironic part about the whole debacle is that she and Cruise are now co-stars in the highly anticipated, science fiction film Edge of Tomorrow. In the film, Blunt portrays Rita Vrataski, a futuristic Special Forces soldier who teams up with Major William Cage (Cruise) for a combat mission against aliens.

Surprisingly, Cruise is actually responsible for Blunt securing the starring role. On Tuesday, May 27, Cruise and Blunt sat down for an interview with Access Hollywood to discuss the upcoming film. The 51-year-old actor revealed that he pleaded with the film’s director Doug Liman to have Blunt added to the cast for the film.

“I saw her work very early on and her work as an actress, and I just really admired [her],” Cruise said of Blunt. “She’s got great taste, as her choices in terms of within scenes, tremendous power on screen,” he said. “Right from the very beginning, [I knew] this woman can really act,” Cruise doted. “The versatility of  her ability is incredible—from comedy to drama and also romance,” he said.  “She’s a great leading lady but a character actor. So I’ve been watching her for a long time.”

Edge of Tomorrow hits theaters nationwide Friday, June 6.

  • Zoë Saldana, Sam Worthington To Star In Next Three ‘Avatar’ Sequels

The sequels to the 2009 Blockbuster film Avatar are officially in motion, and the film’s stars Zoë Saldana and Sam Worthington are back onboard!

E! News confirms Saldana and Worthington will reprise the starring roles of Neytiri and Jake Sully in the next three installments of the Avatar film series. The publication also reports that the film’s director James Cameron will be filming the sequels back-to-back with projected annual release dates for three consecutive years in a row.

The second installment of the epic science fiction action film is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide in December 2016. The third installment will be released the following year in December 2017, with the fourth to be released right after in December 2018.

Cameron recently discussed the distinct similarities and variations of Saldana and Worthington’s characters, also expressing his gratification of the two returning for the upcoming sequels. “Jake Sully is a rare combination of passion, strength, street smarts and soul, which requires a lot from an actor. Sam brought to the role a combination of sensitivity, vulnerability and strength,” Cameron explained.

“Zoë captured every aspect of the character I envisioned, bringing to Neytiri a mix of delicacy, fierceness and incredible physicality. I am beyond pleased they’ll be returning with us to Pandora.”

The direction and production of the Avatar sequels will be a collaborative effort between Cameron and his producing partner Jon Landau. An A-list team of screenwriters have also been incorporated to develop the scripts for each film.

The notable screenwriters include War of the Worlds‘ Josh Friedman, Rise of the Planet of the Apes‘ Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver and Savages‘ Shane Salerno. All three screenwriters have lauded success with the development of science fiction and thriller-themed scripts.

Avatar is still considered the highest-grossing film of all time at the box office with a worldwide total of $2,782,275,172. Due to the success of the first installment, the highly anticipated sequels are definitely expected to meet or exceed expectations. Although the amazing feat will be quite challenging to top, there’s no doubt that the possibilities are endless.
