Mark Wahlberg Finally Gets His Hole-in-One

Mark Wahlberg just missed scoring a hole-in-one about a month ago during the Pebble Beach Pro-Am at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club Shore Course. Just inches away from the big moment, the actor spun a 153-yard-shot for what wound up a rather disappointing birdie.

On Friday morning, however, luck was on Mark Wahlberg’s side. The actor achieved his hole-in-one at Pelican Hill Golf Club. He was using one of Rory McIroy’s balls. He proudly displayed it when sharing his excitement on social media.

Rory McIlroy lauded Mark Wahlberg–and remarked about the ball.

Golf isn’t Mark Wahlberg’s only sports passion. In 2013, the former rapper bought into the Barbados Tridents cricket franchise.

“I am a huge cricket fan now,” he said at the time. “I’m excited to be a part of the Limacol Caribbean Premier League because I know cricket is huge in the Caribbean and a rich part of the region’s heritage,” Wahlberg said in a statement. “Sports and entertainment are a powerful combination, and the LCPL will appeal to a huge audience worldwide.”

The brother of actor and New Kids on the Block singer Donnie Wahlberg, Mark Wahlberg and his brothers are partners in a restaurant venture, too, called Wahlbergers.

Mark Wahlberg was nominated for an Academy Award for his role in Martin Scorsese’s 2006 film The Departed.

After Friday’s score, do you think Mark Wahlberg would say he favors acting or golfing more?

  • Nelly: Rapper Arrested on Drug Charges in Tennessee

Nelly was arrested in Tennessee on Saturday on meth and marijuana related charges. The rap star, along with six others, were driving through Tennessee en route to St. Louis when the arrest took place. State troopers pulled over the bus in which the ‘Hot in Herre’ and ‘Country Grammar’ artist was a passenger, and smelled weed. That gave them the probable cause they needed to search the bus. The bus was stopped for not displaying a sticker from the Tansportation Department and the International Fuel Tax Association, which is a requirement for tour buses.

In addition to the marijuana found inside the bus, state troopers also found five rocks that tested positive for methamphetamine. They also discovered drug paraphernalia and guns including a gold-plated Desert Eagle pistol, a 45-caliber Taurus pistol, and a .500-magnum Smith & Wesson.

According to a report from the Washington Post, Nelly was arrested and charged with felony possession of drugs, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Brian Jones, a passenger on the tour bus, was arrested and charged as a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

Both men were taken to Putnam County Jail in Cookeville, Tennessee. Nelly was released on $10,000 bond a short time later, according to the Associated Press.

Nelly is scheduled to appear in court on June 19, which also happens to be the day he is scheduled to be in Philadelphia for his tour with New Kids on the Block and TLC.

Nelly hasn’t made an official announcement about his arrest.

Do you think the rapper will get out of court in time to make his concert date with NKOTB and TLC? There will no doubt be some very disappointed fans if he doesn’t.

Do you expect there will be fans who opts not to attend the show because of Nelly’s drug charges?

  • Donnie Wahlberg, Jenny McCarthy Won’t Add to Family

Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy tied the knot back in August after dating for about 13 months. Baby won’t make three for this couple, however.

Jenny McCarthy has a son named Evan, who is autistic. Donnie Wahlberg’s son Elijah is around the same age. The two have decided that these sons from before they met each other are plenty of children for them.

“When you work so hard and your kids are out of the diaper phase, out of the high chair and you get rid of all that stuff…to start over again? No way! I want to go towards the light with my husband while we still can walk,” McCarthy said in a recent interview.

She admits that bringing their blended family together wasn’t always easy for her and the Blue Bloods star.

“Integration is not easy for any family, so it took baby steps in some areas,” Jenny McCarthy said.

“We talked about this last night. We said, ‘It’s funny how we can see how each child is a blessing for each other.’ Like Evan is so influenced by Elijah, Donnie’s son who’s his similar age. And how Elijah means to me in my life that I didn’t necessarily get from anybody before. So if everyone can just realize that integration is for a reason and you look at it like blessings, it makes it so much easier to just accept what is and kind of go through those bumps and grinds with peace,” she added.

In addition to starring on Blue Bloods, Donnie Wahlberg is a member of the boy band New Kids On the Block. Jenny McCarthy launched her career thanks to Playboy magazine. She was a nude model back in 1993 and soon became Playmate of the Year. These days she hosts a radio show on Sirius/XM called Dirty, Sexy, Funny with Jenny McCarthy. She was in a relationship with Jim Carrey for several years. Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy just finished up season one of their A&E show Donnie Loves Jenny.

Are you surprised to learn that Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy won’t be adding to their family? With their careers and the sons they already have, it sounds like their schedules are likely maxed.

  • Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg Marry Sans Brother Mark Wahlberg

Jenny McCarthy and Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg were married Sunday.

The nuptials were held at the beautiful and historic Hotel Baker in St. Charles, Illinois, just outside McCarthy’s hometown of Chicago.

According to People magazine, the 41-year-old former The View co-host wore a gown she found during a July shopping excursion at Bergdorf Goodman.

The couple reportedly began dating last summer and became engaged in April in a very unique way.

McCarthy‘s 12-year-old son Evan gave Donnie a hand in the proposal by delivering notes to his mom with the words “Will” and “You” and “Marry,” followed by Donnie’s big entrance wearing a t-shirt that said “Me?”

McCarthy posted a photo on Instagram Saturday that appears to have been taken during weekend celebrations.

In attendance at the ceremony was McCarthy’s The View co-host, Sherri Shepherd, who posted an Instagram photo before boarding a plane to Chicago, with the caption: “Catching an early morning flight to @jennyannmccarthy & @donniewahlberg’s wedding … What a beautiful day to join as one before God! Congrats to two beautiful people!”

Donnie’s New Kids on the Block pals Jordan Knight, Danny Wood and Jonathan Knight also attended the ceremony.

The groom’s brother, Mark Wahlberg, was unable to attend, but tweeted his congratulations.

Mark also posted a congratulatory video on Facebook, which is no longer available.

“I love you, Donnie, we’re very happy for you,” he says in the video, surrounded by his wife and four kids. “Sorry we couldn’t be there, we’ll see you soon.”

    To which the groom responded:

This is the second marriage for both. Donnie also has two sons, 21-year-old Xavier and 13-year-old Elijah.

  • Jenny McCarthy: Mark Wahlberg Skipping Donnie Wahlberg Wedding?

Jenny McCarthy is reportedly marrying Donnie Wahlberg on Saturday, but rumor has it brother Mark Wahlberg won’t be in attendance. Why? That same rumor also claims he and his wife aren’t fans of the bride.

TMZ is reporting that multiple sources say Mark Wahlberg’s wife wasn’t happy about a recent interview Jenny McCarthy did with Howard Stern. She apparently felt Jenny was making her relationship with her brother-in-law to be out to be something it isn’t.

TMZ also reports that they contacted Mark Wahlberg, who said he won’t be at the wedding because he will be attending a birthday party for his daughter Ella–in L.A. The wedding is said to be taking place in New York. It’s up for debate as to which scenario is the bona fide truth it seems.

Hollywood Life reports that Donnie Wahlberg’s family is flying to New York for the Saturday wedding.

The former Playboy model and star of The View became engaged to Donnie Wahlberg back in April.

Jenny McCarthy said recently that paring down the wedding guest list was going to be difficult.

“The hardest part is we have to cut down the wedding list, because the place we’re getting married at, it’s very boutique. With Donnie’s 800 relatives – yes, 800. I’ve got 6,000 McCarthys,” she said.

Did the Blue Bloods star’s brother help pare down that list for her?

There’s been lots of chatter about the New Kids on the Block star marrying Jenny McCarthy. Not all of it has been positive. Perhaps once they tie the knot and get on with their married life, the Wahlberg family will hop on board?

What’s your take on Jenny McCarthy marrying Donnie Wahlberg? Do you expect Mark Wahlberg will show for the nuptials or is he really tied down at that birthday party in L.A.?

  • Simon Cowell Ticks Off The Twitterverse By Predicting One Direction’s Demise

Simon Cowell has got the Twitterverse in an uproar over his prediction that the British boy band, One Direction, will break up soon.

Not sure what his beef is with the much-adored band, but he has the well-refined reputation of being a “professional hater” with the power to destroy a musician or a band with one little quip. It’s not hard to forget how the music mogul could squash the dreams of some budding singer on American Idol — and later on X Factor — with one remark.

Cowell even mocked himself in a brief cameo in Scary Movie 3 as a harsh music critic, which ended with a crowd gunning him down.

This does come as a shock, however, because the boys in the band owe it all to Cowell. He was the man who put the boy band together on X Factor and started their career.

Cowell shared his views about a possible breakup to the Daily News.

“Bands don’t stay together forever,” he reportedly said. “I think they will make at least two more albums together and they are in the middle of one right now. … No, I don’t think that is going to happen for a while. Eventually I am sure they all will.”

He may have a point, especially with boy bands — New Kids on The Block and N’Sync did only last a few years — and there have been rumors that Harry Styles is working on a solo project.

When the prediction rumors started circulating on Twitter, fans began to cry out their fury and indignation, using the hashtag #1DtoLiveOnForever.

The band’s rep released a statement squashing the rumors.

“There are no plans for Styles to release any solo music at this time, any writing that he is doing is for potential One Direction songs. It’s common knowledge that the boys write separately and bring to each other for the album,” said the rep.

In July, Styles also addressed rumors of his going solo.

“I’m 100 percent in this band. I still want to be touring with One Direction in ten years. I’ll be doing it until I’m old and people are telling me to stop.”

  • Boston Marathon Featured New Kids On The Block, Marriage Proposal

Boston Marathon stories are popping up all over the web today after a successful race on Monday, but two of those stories are a bit unexpected.

The race had America glued to the television last year after news broke that bombs had gone off, and this year the security was heavily tightened. The threat of more violence didn’t deter runners this year, however, as a near-record 35,660 people signed up to take part. Included in that number were two familiar faces: Joe McIntyre and Danny Wood of New Kids On The Block.

The duo proudly finished the race and tweeted to their fans afterward, with fellow New Kid Donnie Wahlberg giving updates on the social media site during the run.

The horrific events of last year were at the front of everyone’s minds this time around, but Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick ensured those in attendance that every precaution was taken to keep them safe, including bans on bags, glass bottles, and large containers of any kind.

“We’re very alert. We’re very prepared, and we’re assuring people as much as we can that it’ll be a fun day and a safe one,” he said.

The day was more about showing Boston pride than about fear, however, and at least one runner decided to commemorate the day by ending it on a sweet note. Gregory Picklesimer dropped to one knee after finishing the race and proposed to his girlfriend, later saying, “After last year I realized the people you love can be taken away from you.”

  • Jenny McCarthy Engaged to Donnie Wahlberg

Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg are engaged. Yes, ladies, that means the NKOTB singer is once again officially off the market. The host of The View announced on the show Wednesday that she and Wahlberg got engaged this past weekend. The Blue Bloods star even involved McCarthy’s 11-year-old son Evan in the proposal.

“This weekend I was sitting with Donnie…and he went into the other room and Evan out came with a card that said ‘Will’ and he handed it to me,” she said. “Then Evan ran away and came in with a card that said ‘You.’ I started crying and then Evan came into the room with the word ‘Marry’ — but spelled wrong.”

She added, “Last, Donnie came out with Evan and Donnie’s shirt said ‘Me’ and he got down on his knee….Of course, I said ‘Yes.’ In that moment Evan yelled, ‘I have another dad!’ and it made all of us cry.”

Wow. Talk about creative and romantic. Any woman with a child will no doubt agree that Donnie Wahlberg did a great job with his proposal to Jenny McCarthy.

Before sharing her exciting news, Jenny McCarthy shared a rather cryptic message with her Twitter followers.

Following Wednesday’s airing of The View, she shared another tweet.

This will be the second marriage for the New Kids on the Block singer. Donnie Wahlberg was married to Kim Fey from 1999 to 2008. They have two children. Jenny McCarthy was married from 1995-2005 to John Asher. They are Evan’s parents. She also dated actor Jim Carrey for quite some time following her divorce.

No word has escaped yet as to when Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy will tie the knot. It seems quite likely, however, that Evan will play some sort of role in the wedding ceremony. When a child from a previous marriage or relationship is included in the remarrying process on some level, it usually helps make the transition into becoming a family much easier. Kudos to Wahlberg for the insight into what might be best for Evan’s future. Evan is autistic.

And congratulations are certainly in order to both Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg. Their engagement is likely a big topic of conversation among many people right now–both celebrities and fans. The only ones grieving are those diehard NKOTB fans.
