    NeNe Leakes Released From Hospital

    NeNe Leakes, Real Housewives of Atlanta star was hospitalized after doctors found blood clots in her lungs. Leakes said that she had been feeling bad for a few days. When she became short of breath and had trouble breathing, she went to the doctor and was shocked to find out about the blood clots.

    Leakes tweeted several messages to her fans during her stay in the hospital and sent out a heart felt message to everyone who was concerned about her health. She said,

    “I’m thankful to be alive as the doctor advised me that most people don’t recognize the symptoms of blood clots and don’t go to the doctor and that’s when the big problems start happening,” she continued, “Contrary to published reports I did not have a heart attack.”

    Blood clots spread quickly through the blood stream and if they reach major organs such as the lungs or heart and are not caught in time, they can cause heart attacks and strokes. While doctors were able to catch Leakes’ blood clots before they were able to cause any serious problems, many other people are not as lucky.

    Leakes’ co-stars of Real Housewives of Atlanta sent well wishes her way and seemed confident that she would be back to herself in no time. Leakes has been released from the hospital and is being cared for by her husband Gregg Leakes in their home.

  • NeNe Leakes Recovers At Home After Health Scare

    “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star NeNe Leakes is thankful to be alive. In a message she posted on her website, she wrote  “I’m thankful to be alive as the doctor advised me that most people don’t recognize the symptoms of blood clots and don’t go to the doctor and that’s when the big problems start happening.”

    The Daily News reports that she was hospitalized after feeling short of breath and was diagnosed as having blood clots in her lung. NeNe has since been released and is now recovering at home.

    NeNe took time while recovering to reassured her fans that she did not have a heart attack as earlier reported. Part of the statement posted by the 45-year-old Leakes read:

    “Late last week I wasn’t feeling well and was feeling a little short of breath…I know my body and I know when I should be concerned so I went to the hospital to get checked out.”

    “After some routine tests I was diagnosed with blood clots in my lung,” she continued. “I’m told this happened to me because of the constant traveling around the country that I do for my job.”

    She also posted a photo of her dressed in a hospital gown and lying in a hospital bed while hooked up to IV’s.  “My arms are hurting with these IV’s,” she tweeted Monday along with the photo. “I have been very sick for the past couple of days,” she continued. “But I wanted 2 Thank my tweetie pies.”

    NeNe Leakes is recovering after having to be hospitalized last week after several blood clots were found in her lungs. NeNe says the clots were discovered after some routine tests, and she posted on her blog that she is “thankful to be alive”.

    First and foremost, I so dearly love and appreciate each and every one of you for your concern and your prayers. Late last week I wasn’t feeling well and was feeling a little short of breath. I know my body and I know when I should be concerned so I went to the hospital to get checked out. After some routine tests I was diagnosed with blood clots in my lung. I’m told this happened to me because of the constant traveling around the country that I do for my job.
    I’m thankful to be alive as the doctor advised me that most people don’t recognize the symptoms of blood clots and don’t go to the doctor and that’s when the big problems start happening. Contrary to published reports I did not have a heart attack. I am fortunate to have had a wonderful experience with the doctors and nurses who took care of me. I’m blessed to be home with my wonderful Husband and family! Look who crawled in the hospital bed with me….

    The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star recognized that something was wrong when she started experiencing shortness of breath. Had she not noticed the symptoms of the blood clots, things could have been a lot worse. Rumors originally spread that Leakes had had a heart attack, however she explained on her blog that she had not.

  • NeNe Leakes On New Spinoff, “Bridesmaid-zillas”

    NeNe Leakes has her own spinoff show now after appearing for several seasons on the hugely successful “Real Housewives of Atlanta”, and she recently sat down for an interview with Entertainment Tonight to dish about “I Dream Of NeNe” and how it differs from her other reality show.

    Leakes, who remarried her ex-husband Gregg Leakes in June, says that one of the biggest differences is that now that she’s the star–and executive producer–the load is much heavier to bear.

    “I’m having to shoot three scenes a day, changing clothes three times in one day to do different scenes, so I’m just constantly working. You know, when it’s your show, you got to promote it, you have to push it, you have to make this thing work. Now, when I’m on RHOA, it’s six of us pushing and pulling, so the work isn’t as heavy a load, because they’ve got all the pushing and pulling. But this time, it’s all about me,” she said.

    Leakes was offered a spinoff deal before her wedding, with Bravo asking to film the affair as part of the first season. She says one of the biggest worries during her big day was actually the women who were supposed to be helping her.

    “The most difficult people were Marlo Hampton and Diana Gowins. When I say difficult, it was unbelievable that they could not step outside of themselves and say that this is a wedding for NeNe, our friend, and let’s just be here to support her. They argued most of the time, they were never really satisfied. They were very difficult in different ways. After working with Marlo on the show, I could see why she was not a housewife, because she’s super difficult. She’s super extra….They’re definitely bridesmaid-zillas. They forgot that the word bridesmaid ends in “maid.” Just wear what I ask you to wear, just do that.”

    When a magazine as popular as Elle makes a mistake on a social media site as popular as Instagram, people are bound to notice in a hurry. And when someone from the magazine mistakenly captioned a photo of “The Walking Dead” actress Danai Gurira as Nene Leakes from “The Real Housewives Of Atlanta”, the incident gained some negative attention pretty fast.

    “#NeNeLeakes looking gorgeous in #alexanderwang and @hot diamonds #ellewitv”, read the caption, and followers immediately responded. They also took to Twitter to call out the perpetrator for making such a blatant mistake and demanded an apology. The caption has since been taken down and replaced with, “Apologies—clearly someone on our team needs glasses! The fabulous Danai Gurira looking stunning as ever!”
