  • Here’s Nas Giving A Talk At Google

    Rap star Nas, who has been getting a lot of media attention for the 20th anniversary of his landmark album Illmatic, recently stopped by Google’s New York office to have a conversation with Sacha Jenkins as part of the “Talks At Google” series.

    Illmatic has been re-released as Illmatic XX, which features a second disc full of remixes. Google is using the opportunity to promote the album on Google Play.

  • Coachella 2014 Reunites OutKast, Blows up Twitter

    The annual two-weekend, three-day Coachella Festival features 184 artists this year, with headlining acts including a reunited OutKast performing on Friday, Muse headlining the Saturday shows, and Arcade Fire set to close out Sunday nights.

    The 2014 festival also features notable acts including Lorde, Pixies, The Replacements, Beck, Neutral Milk Hotel, Queens of the Stone Age, Nas, Calvin Harris, Broken Bells, Motörhead, Haim, Neko Case, MGMT, Girl Talk, Foster the People, Lana Del Rey, Pharrell Williams, Chromeo and Mogwai.     The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is held yearly at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, located in the Inland Empire’s Coachella Valley, situated in the Colorado Desert. The 2014 festival began on April 11, and will continue tonight, and again on April 18, 19, and 20. General admission tickets were sold out in less than 20 minutes, while VIP tickets which went for over $5,000 sold out in under 3 hours.

  • Nas Will be a Speaker at 2012 SXSW Festival in Austin

    Every year people flock to Austin to attend the South by Southwest Music Conference and Festival (SXSW) to become informed about a range of music genres and topics. This year Nas will be one of the high profile speakers at the SXSW festival.

    The festival has been around since 1987 and afforded the somewhat geographically isolated metropolitan city of Austin the opportunity to rise as a seasonal empire in the music industry. Many corporate executives, actors, musicians, and agents from around the world come to gain visibility and do business.

    Nas, a well established rapper from Queens, will be interviewed by his former manager Steve Stoute at the Austin Convention Center at 3:30 pm on Friday, March 16th. His first album debuted in 1994 and he is now adored by millions of fans for his memorable lyrics and stories. This platinum earning artist has triumphed over several controversies and is considered by Music News to be on of the greatest rappers to ever live.

    His new album is under is under construction and will be a collaborative project with Bob Marley’s youngest son, Damian Marley.
