  • Nancy Grace Grills Love Ranch Owner Dennis Hof Over Lamar Odom

Nancy Grace interviewed Dennis Hof, the owner of the “Love Ranch” on Wednesday. This is the Las Vegas brothel where Lamar Odom was found unconscious on Tuesday. According to witnesses, Odam had used cocaine and herbal Viagra pills.

Hof told Grace that Odom had called his manager on Saturday, wanting to “come out and stay for four or five days.” He went on to say that Odom was just having a good time, wanted to drink some cognac and “hang out with the girls”. He was with a couple of them, he said. He was having a good time and doing some “herbal supplements,’ Hof said, adding that he didn’t think he “was doing any drugs.”

Everything was fine until Tuesday morning, he said, adding that the girls had last seen him at six o’clock in the morning when they “went to do some things and he was going to sleep.” Staff took food into him at about noon while he was still sleeping. They went back at 3:15 and he was unconscious, foaming at the mouth.

When they called 911, they were told to roll Odom onto his left side, so they did, and he proceeded to throw up, according to Hof.

Hof also mentioned that a publicist for the Kardashians asked him not to appear on Nancy Grace, and that he told them to “go to hell.”

On Friday, CNN reported that source had said Odom’s condition was a “tiny bit better”. ESPN reported that he was conscious and breathing on his own, and had even spoken a few words.

  • Nancy Grace Sued for Repeatedly Calling Innocent Man a “Selfie Stalker”

Back in February, Benajmin Seibert found himself in a bit of a mess. Police were looking for him in connection with a break-in in Denver, Colorado. A woman in Denver had just put her kids to bed and went downstairs to look at her cell phone. On the phone, she found a picture of a man she did not know.

It appeared that someone had broken into her home while she was upstairs, taken a picture of himself on her phone, and left it for her to find. She called police, who started hunting for the man. A Crime Stoppers alert was issued, and the man’s picture was posted on television.

National talk show host Nancy Grace started talking about this incident on her show, referring to the man as the “Selfie Stalker,” and saying that his behavior was a “textbook serial killer’s calling card.”

The problem was, the picture on the woman’s phone was Benjamin Seibert. And Benjamin Seibert was nowhere near Denver.

Police investigated and discovered that the picture on her phone was actually from Seibert’s Facebook account. Police determined that Seibert’s story was true — he was in California when the whole “break-in” took place. So they declared publicly that he was not suspected of anything. The picture had somehow accidentally made its way to the woman’s phone — possibly an accidental screenshot while perusing pages.

But Nancy Grace did not let up. She continued to refer to Seibert as the “Selfie Stalker” on Facebook and Twitter. Now Seibert is suing Nancy Grace, charging defamation.

“It’s still very hard to deal with that as your reputation with millions of people,” said Seibert.

Seibert’s attorney said they asked Nancy Grace repeatedly to issue a retraction, post a correction.

“It’s very clear that despite a number of attempts to have this cease, it did not. Ms. Grace continued. It’s all described in the pages of the complaint and we had no alternative but to send a message taken more seriously,” said John Pineau, Seibert’s attorney. “He’s very much hoping that those responsible are held accountable. He would like to correct the record he’s not a serial killer.”

Seibert is suing Nancy Grace and Turner Broadcasting.

  • Nancy Grace Being Sued For Defamation By Man She Labeled The ‘Selfie Stalker’

Nancy Grace has been slapped with a defamation lawsuit.

According to KDVR, Benjamin Seibert filed the lawsuit against the talk show host in a Denver court on Monday, stating that she had continued to implicate him in the crime even after he had been cleared of any wrongdoing. She also aired his photograph for the entire nation to see, earning him the nickname “selfie stalker.”

The incident Grace was referring to on her show occurred in Denver, Colorado in February 2014. A woman put her children to bed and then proceeded to check her cell phone, where she found a picture of Seibert. She assumed that the man had broken into her house and taken the photo and called the police.

Unknowingly to the woman, Seibert’s photo had actually been added to her phone through her Facebook app, and Seibert was working in California at the time of the alleged incident.

One of Seibert’s friends contacted him after his photo was shown on the media, and Seibert immediately called the police and told them where he was located and they cleared his name from being associated with the home invasion.

However, despite being exonerated, Nancy and the organization Crime Stoppers continued to associate Seibert with the crime and circulate his photograph, even labeling him a serial killer. Seibert has called the incident humiliating and said that Grace and Crime Stoppers have ruined his name.

“It hasn’t been easy for him as a result of this,” Seibert’s attorney John Pineau said during a recent interview.

Seibert and Pineau are hoping that other people will come forward stating that Grace has wrongly implicated them of a crime. “We are interested based on the history of the research we’ve uncovered – we’re pretty confident there are other victims – and so we’re asking for other victims to come forward,” Pinea said.

  • Nancy Grace Sued for Labeling ‘Selfie Stalker’

Nancy Grace is being sued for defamation by a man she labeled the ‘Selfie Stalker.‘ She allegedly falsely accused Benjamin Seibert of breaking into a woman’s Denver home and taking a photo of himself. It was on TV that Grace made these claims, also calling the alleged photo a “textbook serial killer’s calling card.” Grace’s fans hopped on board the blame wagon at that time and perpetuated her claims, which soon went viral.

“It hasn’t been easy for him as a result of this,” Seibert’s attorney, John Pineau, said during an interview with the Associated Press.

It was last February when Benjamin Seibert first heard about the alleged crime. Police learned that the photo on the woman’s phone was actually a photograph of the man’s Facebook picture. Once police exonerated Seibert publicly, Nancy Grace allegedly continued referring to Seibert as the ‘Selfie Stalker.’

Despite being cleared by police, Grace continued with her television show on February 10, posting on Twitter and Facebook, branding him a serial killer.

In addition to Nancy Grace, Seibert’s lawsuit names Crime Stoppers. The suit alleges they never withdrew Seibert’s photo from their pages even after police confirmed he wasn’t a criminal.

Benjamin Seibert is looking for additional people who believe they have also been wronged by Nancy Grace. He is urging them to join in his lawsuit against the HLN TV host.

Nancy Grace has a cult following. There are some who believe her word is the end-all with regard to criminal activity. It’s easy to see how she might have damaged Benjamin Seibert’s reputation by continuing to call him the ‘Selfie Stalker’ even after police cleared his name. Do you think Seibert can win this lawsuit?

  • Nancy Grace Cited as Reason for Dismissal of a Juror in Jodi Arias’ Sentencing Retrial

Nancy Grace was cited as the reason for the dismissal of a a second juror after he reportedly approached a journalist and asked her if she was the HNL television personality.

The first juror was released Tuesday because of family issues.

The second juror on Wednesday allegedly approached legal analyst and freelance journalist Beth Karas, who is covering the trial for her website, and asked if she was Grace.

Karas reported the incident to the judge after realizing he was a juror. A hearing was held and the judge dismissed the juror.

A jury deadlocked on the first sentencing of the 34-year-old Arias, who was convicted of murder last year in the 2008 death of her lover, Travis Alexander.

It took several weeks to select the jury from a pool of 400. There are now only four jury alternates left.

    The sentencing retrial began Tuesday.

During his opening statement, prosecutor Juan Martinez showed a photo of the slit throat of Alexander, who also was shot and suffered about 30 stab wounds in his Mesa, Arizona home.

Prosecutors portray Arias as a vicious killer who brutally attacked her boyfriend in a fit of jealousy and rage after he broke up with her and said he wanted to see other women.

Defense lawyer Kirk Nurmi, on the other hand, said Arias should be given a second chance at life, citing Arias’ clean criminal record. He also claims she suffers from mental illness and is a victim of child abuse.

“It’s up to you to write the final chapter to this story,” Nurmi told the new jurors, who are deciding on whether she deserves death for her crime.

The sentencing re-trial was set to begin reconvene Thursday morning in Phoenix.

  • Jodi Arias Files Restraining Order Against Nancy Grace?

Jodi Arias may have been convicted of first degree murder, but her story is far from over.

Ahead of her retrial, scheduled for September of this year, Arias is taking desperate steps to garner attention and sympathy.

Arias lashed out at Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who Arias bitterly blames for her allegedly deteriorating health. She also believes the law enforcement official has secret cameras hidden in her cell.

TMZ reported that Arias has hit Arpaio with a restraining order. In the documents, the gossip organization learned that Arias apparently feels the sheriff is to blame for her contracting Hepatitis C. Arias said she was infected after being given a tuberculous shot with a dirty needle.

Arias also claims that her left breast implant has started to leak and has caused a fungal growth to develop. She said that she’s not getting proper medical treatment for her ailments.

Arpaio seems puzzled as to what she expects the restraining order to accomplish.

When it comes to her claims of illness, Arpaio said, “This is something that comes under the correctional health, the county. They take care of our inmates.”

The sheriff said that he would look into the matter next week.

In a bizarre twist, Arpaio was not the only person featured in Arias’s restraining order. Television personality Nancy Grace was also named.

Arias claims that Sheriff Arpaio leaked sensitive letters to Grace.

The sheriff said of Arias’s post-conviction antics, “I know that she wants publicity and the only way she can get publicity is to go after this controversial sheriff, and she’s won because I am talking to you.”

He believes that this is just Arias’s desperate way of drawing attention to herself ahead of the sentencing phase to begin in the fall.

The upholding of the restraining order would mean that neither Sheriff Arpaio nor Nancy Grace would be able to infringe upon Arias’s privacy during sentencing.

  • Jodi Arias Claims She Contracted Hepatitis C in Jail

Jodi Arias – who was convicted last year of murdering her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander and is awaiting the death penalty phase of the case – claims she has Hepatitis C, blaming it on Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

To add to that, she believes there is a conspiracy between Arpaio and journalist Nancy Grace.

Arias has reportedly filed for restraining orders against Sheriff Arpaio and Grace, claiming that it’s a violation of her privacy and could affect her death penalty outcome.

Arias believes that a tuberculosis shot she received while in the Maricopa County Jail was contaminated, infecting her with Hepatitis C.

She also accuses Arpaio of giving sexual letters between her and Travis Alexander’s cousin to Grace.

And finally, Arias says her breast implant leaked – causing a fungal growth – but was denied medical help.

    Is that it Jodi?

Sheriff Arpaio gave ABC15 his first response to claims, saying he has no knowledge of any Hepatitis infection and thinks she is probably using the story as a media ploy.

“I have no knowledge of that,” said Arpaio referring to Arias’ claims that she contracted Hepatitis C while in the Sheriff’s care. “That comes out of the county medical agency. Looks like she just wants more publicity. I cut off her meetings in jail a while back and she’s in court right now, so she’s probably using me as a vehicle to get some connection with her court testimony. Everything she is saying I have no knowledge of and it doesn’t even make sense.”

Arpaio also rejects claims that Arias’ does not get fed in the jail until she recites patriotic songs.

What will this woman think of next?

Twitter is having fun with her latest allegations.

Let’s all relive the sentencing, shall we?

  • Nancy Grace Bashes Legalization of Marijuana

Nancy Grace says those who agree with the legalization of marijuana are likely “lethargic on the sofa eating chips…fat and lazy.” She totally bashed the notion of pot being available to anyone in an over-the-counter form during an interview with CNN’s Brooke Baldwin. The HLN personality’s biggest concern is definitely children. As a mom herself she asked if people really want to know that their babysitter or their cab driver or bus driver–anyone who could potentially have the lives of their or her children in their hands are smoking pot whenever they want.

“I don’t think it’s best for our society,” she said toward the end of the interview, despite the fact that she made her point loudly and abundantly clear at the beginning of the conversation.

A concerned “fat and lazy” person immediately weighed in on Nancy Grace’s comments via Twitter.

Nancy Grace stuck to her outspoken beliefs via Twitter just the same.

Grace has no doubt sparked a conversation to be weighed in on by people all over the United States. Unfortunately since she is such a controversial figure to begin with–most people either love or hate Nancy Grace–there is seldom any middle ground here–folks will join in simply to bash her, rather than to intelligently contribute to the conversation being had all around the country.

  • With #ToiletBaby, the Hashtag Has Officially Jumped the Shark and Nancy Grace Is Our Water-Skiing Fonzie

You could argue that the hashtag jumped the shark when social media users began using it not to categorize or clarify, but instead to simply say something that they should have just said in the actual message. #IDontwanttogotoclass, #massivesunburnonmyface, and #YOLO, anyone? Maybe the death of the hashtag happened when Facebook users started using it despite Facebook’s lack of support (Facebook has since added hashtags).

If you argued that, I don’t think I could argue against you. But in my mind, the hashtag was still alive until about 17 hours ago, at which point legal talking head Nancy Grace made this tweet:

    Yes. That’s a #ToiletBaby hashtag you see.

The story goes like this: An Allentown, Pennsylvania woman is being held without bail after she allegedly gave birth to a baby in a pub bathroom, and proceeded to suffocate it with a garbage bag and leave it in the toilet. She later returned to her friends to finish watching a pay-per-view wrestling match.

This is horrible, obviously. And the story is definitely right up Nancy Grace’s alley. But #ToiletBaby? That’s…well…that’s something. Yes, Nancy Grace, #ToiletBaby is an apt description of the story and you’re even using the hashtag properly – to categorize tweets about a specific topic! But dude…

The #ToiletBaby-ing went on for a couple of hours:

    (image)

And Nancy Grace asked her viewers to hashtag #ToiletBaby on her HLN show:

    (image)

Now, #ToiletBaby isn’t an entirely new hashtag. It’s been around for a while. But in the past, people have generally used it to describe, well, large production in the bathroom – maybe after a burrito of unusual proportions? This is about a kid dumped in a bar restroom so its mother to continue to watch WWE Summerslam.

  • Nancy Grace: Parking Lot Interview Gets Weird

Nancy Grace has almost as many detractors as she does loyal followers, so it’s no surprise that after an odd interview popped up on CNN between her and Ashleigh Banfield, screenshots began making their way around the web faster than you can say, “When I was a prosecuting attorney”.

Grace has been in Arizona to cover every moment of the Jodi Arias trial, but found herself at a disadvantage when news broke earlier this week that three kidnapped women had escaped their tormentor in Cleveland, Ohio. Unable to get to the scene, Grace had to rely on CNN to patch her through to Banfield so she could get caught up via a split-screen interview. The thing is, Banfield was in Arizona, too. In the same parking lot.

Video of the interview shows the same cars rolling by in the background of both women, just a few seconds apart. Apparently, they’re chillin’ in the same forty feet of space, but are squinting into the camera and holding the earpieces firmly in their ears as though they’re on opposite sides of the world. It should also be noted that Banfield held another split-screen interview with someone else who was in the same parking lot.

  • Why Are These News Anchors Holding A Satellite Interview In The Same Parking Lot?

CNN has become somewhat of an Internet joke the past few weeks with its botched coverage of the Boston bombings and subsequent manhunt. That story is mostly behind us, though, and CNN can now work on delivering news without something silly happening, right?

The Atlantic Wire has the absolutely bizarre tale of two anchors – Ashleigh Banfield of CNN and Nancy Grace of Headline News – holding an interview in the same parking lot. Now this wouldn’t be so strange if both women were in the same shot talking to each other. Instead, CNN has a split-screen set up indicating that both women are far away from each other. The background, however, tells a different story (gifs courtesy of The Atlantic Wire).

    (image)

    (image)

It’s painfully obvious that this interview is being held in the same parking lot. What makes it so sad is that these two anchors are not even that far away from each other. By watching the background car movements, you can tell that they are no more than 50 feet away from each other.

Some are taking this as a sign of wholesale deception, but that’s a little extreme. It’s probably just CNN being the sad kind of silly yet again. Either way, we’ll hopefully get another hilarious Jon Stewart spoof out of it.

  • Casey Anthony Sued For $3 Billion, Nancy Grace Involved

Casey Anthony, who made international headlines when she was accused and then acquitted of the murder of her two-year old daughter, Caylee, is now being sued by a woman who says Anthony caused her emotional and mental distress and threatened to kill her.

Naomi Riches claims that between 2009 and 2011, Anthony called her at her home and threatened her life, telling her that people were watching her and had poisoned her drinking water. RadarOnline has published some of the alleged claims from the suit, which Riches hopes will net her $3 billion.

“Casey Anthony is an Illuminati actress who has used the summers 2009-2011 to mock and harass my current circumstances,” the lawsuit reads. “Casey Anthony and Nancy Grace are working in cahoots with one another to fill the media with propaganda so that American Citizens believe there is Justice in this country… Casey Anthony called my house August 2011 and told me that my life was being exploited and that I was a hated nation wife, she told me she would come to my house in Fort Collins, Colorado and kill me just as they did Peggy Hettrick in 1987. She let me know that my left eye would be stabbed out as a part of the Illuminati symbolism. She told me that the government was going to find a way to tap into my water pipes and poison my water supply. I was terrified to shower and drink water for months. I had to spend $600.00 on bottled water….She (Casey Anthony) told me that there were cameras lodged in the back of my eyes and that my life is a reality show for the Elite. Because of her, I suffer from severe psychological damage. For months I couldn’t use the bathroom to go number 1 or 2 without thinking there was some sick wealthy pervert watching me through cameras Casey Anthony claimed were lodged in the back of my eyes.”

It’s been reported that Judge David Baker has dismissed the case–as well as a temporary restraining order–on the grounds that the allegations against Anthony are “fantastic” and don’t meet the plausibility standard. However, this isn’t the first time Anthony has been sued; a defamation lawsuit was brought against her by Zenaida Gonzalez in May after Anthony testified that a woman by that name had been babysitting Caylee and had kidnapped her. In reality, the women had never met.

    More on Casey Anthony here.

  • Nancy Grace Wins After Casey Anthony Verdict

While Casey Anthony may or may not be celebrating the not guilty verdict, perhaps the biggest winner of the Anthony verdict fallout is Nancy Grace — at least in social media since. Sure, most of the reaction tries to vilify Anthony and the United States justice system, but it’s awfully clear Grace was one of the biggest recipients of the post-verdict attention, if only to make fun of, and/or mock her.

Apparently, Grace said something along the lines of “of course the jury is going to find her guilty” or something similar. Now, it seems like a lot of users on Twitter are actually satisfied with the verdict, if, for nothing else, than to see how Grace will react. Shortly after the verdict was announced, Nancy Grace was listed on the Twitter trends list, and the resulting tweets about her reaction were awfully biting, if not downright disturbing; but that’s what you get when you put yourself out in front of the firing line with a “I’m infallible” type of approach.

For an idea of what’s being referenced, check out the following videos:

So that’s Nancy Grace in a nutshell, and with those, you can see why the Twitter reaction was swift and, in some cases, violent:

Please don’t, Ryan. Besides, you’ll probably be found not guilty. More of the Nancy Grace fun, where many Twitter folks were hoping her head would explode:

In case you’re unaware, here’s Bo Pelini in action, as only Bo Pelini can do it:

Oddly enough, Pelini’s brilliance is not the only athletic entity associated with the Anthony verdict. True, Pelini’s association is because of a tweet, but still, he’s so awesome on the sideline, he deserves to be included. Here’s a real reaction from Candance Parker, one of the greatest women basketball players around:

It’s Nancy Grace’s world, if only for people wanting to see her react to the Anthony verdict. There’s been a couple of update posts on her Facebook page, but nothing representing the white-hot reaction many are expecting. It should make for some entertaining television viewing. It should be noted that while Grace and Anthony should be considered winners after the verdict, so far, there’s only one loser, and it’s one who should not be forgotten:

    Caylee Anthony.
