  • Kate Beckinsale: Will “The Face of An Angel” Star Get Pregnant Again?

We all know that Kate Beckinsale is the sexiest woman in the universe.

Her beautiful curves, angelic face and enchanting smile coupled with her ferocious on screen presence makes her a formidable, even deadly foe. You definitely want to be on the friendly side of Kate, especially when you are out and about trying to navigate the Underworld. If not, you urgently need to start praying for a long life, because she will likely suck your vitality, given that she is a vampire warrior.

So what is Kate up to these days? Her twitter feed has been dormant for more than 21 months. Her last tweet was about…you guessed it right, Underworld: Awakening, for which she thanked her fans profusely:

But now we hear via Deadline that Kate is joining Daniel Bruhl and Cara Delevingne in Michael Winterbottom’s new film, The Face Of An Angel. Paul Viragh has been tapped to write the script, based on the book Angel Face – available at Amazon – by author Barbie Latza Nadeu.

The film is loosely about Amanda Knox, the young American sojourner in Italy, who, along with her boyfriend was accused of brutally murdering her housemate. Her prosecution and travails were obsessively covered by a trivialities enamored media, that habitually shies away from more substantive national and international issues such as inflation, monetary and fiscal crisis.

Beautiful Beckinsale plays a journalist in hot pursuit of the case, and the film’s production will commence in Tuscany, Italy. Kate has never shied away from controversial roles, even if she was required to flaunt three breasts instead of two in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Total Recall.

Leaving aside Kate’s professional life, fans are curious what exciting developments are happening in her personal life. Beckinsale parted from actor Michael Sheen, who fathered her only child, when she found love with director Len Wiseman. Kate and Len Wiseman are now married for 9 years, and Kate is having two minds (or many minds) about having another baby.

Just last year, after the release of Underworld: Awakening, the 40 year old said that

“At some point the decision will be made for me, when my ovaries dry up and die…We’ll see. There’s nothing that makes me go, ‘And now I must have triplets.’…I got back and forth on it,…I feel very lucky in that we navigated a pretty bumpy situation and that Lily’s OK. So my resistance is along the lines of, ‘Do I want to upset the apple cart?’”

She added: “There’s absolutely part of me that goes, ‘I’d love to have a baby in the relationship I’m in, and have that experience when the relationship’s really good and exclusive,’ but I’m just not sure.”

The vampire seductress is not sure. But with such a beautiful DNA, her starry-eyed fans sure want Kate to have those triplets. And the sooner the better. Because time and tide (and fertility too), wait for none.

  • David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson Spark Rumors

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson Spark Rumors

The truth is out there. It was a fanboy’s dream. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, you may know them better of course as Mulder and Scully, both participated in a 20th Anniversary X-Files Panel in New York City. The popular mis-matched FBI duo agreed to answer questions for reddit’s Ask Me Anything forum.

It’s been over a decade since the uber-popular Fox science-fiction drama went off the air. And since that time, two X-Files films have been made. The first in 1998, simply called X Files and the second one X Files: I Want to Believe was made ten years later in 2008. But could there be a third X Files film on the way?

When asked about the possibility of a third movie, Duchovny may have fueled the fire, “I think Chris is working on a script. Chris is shooting a pilot right now, so he might not be working on a script, but he claims to be working on a script, and if he does do that and Fox wants to make it … Gillian will do it, I will do it, so start your writing campaign now. Seriously. We’d all love to do it. The ball is in Fox’s hands. And not Fox Mulder, Fox the studio.”

The pair sat for almost two hours and answered fan’s questions about any and every aspect of the show. Does Duchovny actually believe in aliens? He responded, “Odds are we are not alone.” And how about Anderson, “It wouldn’t surprise me. It’s just the fact of it. The universe is bigger than big.”

The X-Files ran on the Fox network for nine seasons. Although, it may have began as a cult show, the intriguing paranormal storylines and the “will they or won’t they” sexual chemistry between Mulder and Scully turned the show into a water-cooler crowd-pleaser.

  • Jennifer Hudson Sober: Actress Reveals She’s Never Had a Drop to Drink

Singer and actress Jennifer Hudson shocked Chelsea Handler during an interview on Chelsea Lately with the revelation that not only has she never been drunk, she’s never had so much as a drop of alcohol to drink. Ever.

That’s hard to believe considering 2 out of 3 adults have an alcoholic beverage on a regular basis, but that’s exactly what the Dreamgirls Oscar winner told Handler while discussing her upcoming movie, The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete.

“I love this new movie,” Chelsea Handler said during the interview. “It’s great because you play a heroin addict, which is the only drug I’ve never tried. You’ve never done heroin?” That seems like a strange question to ask, but Handler was curious as to where Hudson drew her acting inspiration.

“I’ve never done anything, so that was hard to play this role. I’ve never had a drink in my life. I’m sober,” Hudson said.

Handler, who is quite vocal about her love for vodka and even write a book called Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea, was stunned. “What do you mean you’ve never had a drink?” Handler asked. “What are you waiting for?”

“I don’t know. I’ve never been interested. Nobody ever believes it,” Hudson said. “When I got this role, I was like, ‘Oh my god, what am I gonna do? What am I gonna pull from to play the role?’ Normally as an actor, you have things to pull from. I was like, ‘I don’t know what it’s like to feel any of that.’”

While the former American Idol contestant has never done drugs or had any alcohol, she did admit to one source for recreating the feeling of getting high, something that probably resonated well with Chelsea Handler: the feeling she experiences when having sex.

“They took me through each and every step of what it’s like of how you get addicted to drugs and what it feels like when you are high. She told me it was like an orgasm. I was like, ‘I could do that part,” Hudson said.

Jennifer Hudson plays a mom who is addicted to heroin and works as a prostitute in the movie The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, which opened on October 11. Interestingly enough, another American Idol alum, Jordin Sparks, also has a role in the film. Check out the trailer below.

  • Theo James To Star In New Independent Film, Franny

Theo James, the young British actor, has been cast in Franny. Franny is an upcoming film that has already cast Richard Gere and Dakota Fanning. The plot features a philanthropist who meddles in the lives of newly-married couples in an effort to relive his past. Richard Gere will play the main character, while Fanning and James are set to play one of the couples that he gets involved with, Olivia and James.

James was most recently involved with the film Divergent, a based on a young adult novel, and which also stars Shailene Woodley and is set to be released on March 21, 2014. He made his debut in the Woody Allen’s film, You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, but is most notable for his role in Downton Abbey as Kemal Pamuk, according to E Online. He also got the lead on CBS’ new drama Golden Boy. Before his role on Downton Abbey, he also appeared in the BBC series, Bedlam.

James joins Fanning, who gained much of her recognition as a young child star in films such as War of The Worlds and I Am Sam. The pair seem a bit oddly matched, especially with their age difference, in order to play a married couple. James is 28, while Fanning is only 19, which can be a very big difference at the point in their lives. In addition, as Fanning is known for her child roles, it is hard to think of her being grown up and in a marriage with someone older than her. Fanning also had a role in one of the Twilight films.

Fanning’s most recent film was The Last of Robin Hood, about the later years of Errol Flynn, also starring Susan Sarandon and Kevin Kline. The new film Franny, is brought to audiences from a new filmmaker, making his directorial debut. Deadline mentions that Andrew Renzi is directing the film from a script that he wrote, after developing it at this year’s Sundance Screenwriters Lab. The pair of young actors are also excited about joining the veteran actor Richard Gere, who is just coming off of his Golden Globe nomination for his film Arbitrage.

  • Chucky Returns in Latest Movie, “Curse of Chucky”

There’s one classic series of horror films that always seems to bring Halloween to life, and after nine years, one character in particular comes back to life – Chucky. The demonic doll makes his way back to the big screen in “Curse of Chucky.” It started out as a mere rumor, or maybe it was more of a longing for horror movie enthusiasts. But whatever, the case, he’s definitely back with a vengeance.

The “Curse of Chucky” is the sixth film in Don Mancini’s Child’s Play installment, marking the 25th year anniversary of the first release. The new film centers around the character Nica, who is a paraplegic due to defects from birth. She and her mother receive an eerie package in the mail, only to find Chucky in the box. Her mother dismisses the doll throwing him in the trash. Later that night, she dies mysteriously.

In wake of their mother’s untimely death, her sister, brother-in-law, and their daughter, Alice come into the picture. Alice begins playing with the doll. Following the mysterious events surrounding her mother’s death, Nica starts to have eerie reservations about the toy doll her niece is playing with. While she constantly reassures herself the doll is fake, she can’t help but question the recent turn of events that have occurred upon the doll arriving. It’s been nothing but vile bloodshed and utter chaos since they arrived.

In an exclusive interview with USA Today, Child’s Play veteran star, Jennifer Tilly, widely known for her role as Chucky’s love interest Tiffany, briefed the fans on her return to the highly anticipated film.

“It was really fun to drag out the push-up bra, the seven-inch heels and put on the blond wig again,” admitted Tilly, It’s a fantastic moment when Tiffany materializes in the movie.” While Tilly’s role is only a cameo, she was ecstatic to relive the warped love affair that Chucky and Tiffany shared on camera. “I think Tiffany will always be in love with Chucky no matter how horribly he treats her,” said Tilly.

“Curse of Chucky” is scheduled to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 8, 2013 in the United States.

  • Dakota Fanning to Star in Indie Drama, “Franny”

With an already laudable portfolio, actress Dakota Fanny is set to add yet another notch under her belt. This time around, the 19-year-old “Twilight” star along with “Underworld: Awakening” actor, Theo James, will move into the indie circuit. The two are lining up to join veteran actor, Richard Gere in the new production, “Franny.”

According to IMDB, “Franny” is an indie drama that centers around a philanthropist, portrayed by Gere, with a reputation of meddling in the involvements of newly married couples. However, most people don’t know that his reasoning lies in the imperfections of his own past. Deadline reports that Fanning and James portray Olivia and James, the dominant newlyweds in the production.

“Franny” was written by up-and-coming filmmaker, Andrew Renzi. He compiled the script during the Sundance Screenwriters Lab earlier this year. Renzi, who has been lauded with high regards for his prospective future as a prominent filmmaker, also debuted his short films “Karaoke!” and “The Fort” at Sundance.

Renzi will be making his director’s debut with the production of “Franny” which is scheduled to begin on October 21 in Philadelphia.

  • Justin Bieber to the Big Screen?

On Friday, Justin Bieber posted a picture on Instagram that spread like wildfire, sparking the curiosity of millions around the country. Standing in a mirror holding up a manuscript for the upcoming Warner Brothers’ film “Batman vs. Superman,” Bieber captured a snapshot of the script with his iPhone. Then, if the picture alone didn’t raise speculation, the caption which said, “#robin,” did the trick. So overall, the gist of the story is that Justin Bieber insinuated, without words, that he would be playing the role of Robin in the new “Batman vs. Superman” film.

    http://instagram.com/p/eOODXzgvpq

Hours prior to posting the Instagram picture, Bieber tweeted an evasive quote where he mentioned that he was off to ‘do something funny or die.’ However, it wasn’t until hours later when the script picture popped up on Instagram that the tweet finally made sense.

Now, the question floating around is whether the script in the picture is authentic or not. While some sources claim the script is a fake, and Bieber only posted the picture to fuel rumors for publicity purposes, no concise answer has been given to explain it. So, here it is. According to USA Today, Justin Bieber is, indeed, reading for the part of Robin, which indicates that the script in the picture is authentic. However, no decisions has been finalized as to whether Bieber will play the role of Robin in the upcoming film.

“Batman vs. Superman” will be the sequel to “Man of Steel.” As of August, Ben Affleck will star in the film as Batman, while Henry Cavill has been cast as Superman. They are the only two actors that Warner Brothers’ have officially announced to star in the film, which is tentatively set to be released July 17, 2015. So the avid ‘Beliebers’ will just have to wait and see what the final directorial decision will be.

  • Scarlett Johansson: “Don Jon” Movie Premiere

Scarlett Johansson looked stunning as she walked the red carpet at the New York City premiere of her most recent movie, “Don Jon” at the SVA Theater on Thursday, September 12. Her newest accessory, a huge diamond engagement ring from her fiancé, Romain Dauriac, caught a lot of attention.

On September 4, just a day after the Venice International Film Festival where she was premiering “Under the Skin”, Johansson’s rep confirmed the engagement. “I can confirm that Scarlett and Romain are engaged. They haven’t chosen a date for the wedding.”

Johansson is co-starring in the movie, “Don Jon”. The film is about an Italian-American man who, despite his devotion to his family and religion, becomes addicted to online pornography. Joseph Gordo-Levitt plays the lead role of “Don” and Johansson plays his girlfriend, Barbara, who quickly becomes tired of his obsession with porn.

While promoting the film, Johansson opened up about her views of love and relationships. “We all are guilty of holding our partner or our imaginary partner up to these standards that are sort of impossible to fulfill. It would be much easier if the people we fell in love with behaved the we wanted them to,” Johansson said. “I’ve learned over time that what makes life interesting, relationships interesting, are the complexities of relationships and people and the fact that we can become more evolved ourselves if we are forced to compromise and accept the differences amongst one another.”

“Don Jon” will open in theaters on September 27.

  • Robert De Niro Stars in “The Family”, In Theaters Today

If there’s anything Robert De Niro has a knack for, it’s bringing the Mafia world to life on the big screen. With memorable films like “Good Fellas” and “The God Father”, De Niro has an impeccable reputation of portraying the brash, callous Italian mobster. Now, he’s made his way back to theaters with “The Family”.

According to ABC News, the Luc Besson-directed film, centers around the Manzoni family. When Giovanni Manzoni (De Niro) snitches on a few of his mob friends, he becomes an exiled entity and a target within the mafia, which places his family in imminent danger. As a result of his confessions, the family is placed in the Witness Protection Program, abruptly uprooted, and relocated to Normandy, France. The objective is to lay low, and that just happens to be the crux of the problem. Introversion is not a trait that runs in the Manzoni family. So remaining unseen and unheard is nearly impossible, which is how all hell breaks loose.

The film has been coined as a dark comedy, with De Niro reincarnating his ever-popular, ‘Mr. Focker’ persona, fusing it with his signature, cynical nature as a mobster. The quick-wit banter of the film puts a fresh new spin on big screen Mafia life.

According to Today, De Niro stars alongside Michelle Pfeiffer in “The Family”, which only adds even more anticipation, given their on-screen reputation to deliver laudably. “The Family” opens in theaters nationwide, today Friday Sept. 13.

  • Harry Potter Spin-Off Movie Announced

Good news Potter fans. Warner Bros. today announced that it will be producing a new series of movies based on the Harry Potter world. The studio has signed an agreement with Potter author J.K. Rowling to adapt her spin-off Potter book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them for theaters.

The movie adaptation will not feature Harry Potter himself, though it will be set in the same world filled with wizards and muggles. The fictitious author of Fantastic Beasts, Newt Scamander, will be the focus of the movie, set 70 years before the birth of the boy who lived. According to Warner Bros., the movie will feature “magical creatures and characters,” and the studio even teased that there will be characters “familiar to devoted Harry Potter fans.”

“Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for seventeen years, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world,” said Rowling. “The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt’s story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry’s gets underway.”

In addition to the new movie, the agreement Rowling signed with Warner Bros. covers other consumer and digital products. The “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” theme parks will be expanded as well as the popular Pottermore website. New Harry Potter-themed video games are also a possibility.

“We are incredibly honored that Jo has chosen to partner with Warner Bros. on this exciting new exploration of the world of wizardry which has been tremendously successful across all of our businesses,” said Kevin Tsujihara, CEO of Warner Bros. Entertainment. “She is an extraordinary writer, who ignited a reading revolution around the world, which then became an unprecedented film phenomenon. We know that audiences will be as excited as we are to see what her brilliant and boundless imagination conjures up for us.”

  • The “RoboCop” (2014) Official Trailer

    The “RoboCop” (2014) Official Trailer

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INmtQXUXez8

It seems to be a Hollywood trend now-a-days to resurrect and remake 80’s movies. Heck, even Judge Dredd and Total Recall were remade no more than a year ago.

Now RoboCop is the one that’s going to get the modern-era Hollywood makeover, and will be hitting theaters on February 7, 2014.

The story follows Alex Murphy, a Detroit police officer who practically dies at the hands of a group of cruel criminals, and is resurrected by the ominous corporation OmniCorp. Originally in the 1987 version he’s killed by a gang lead by Red (Kurtwood Smith) from That 70’s Show. The murder scene back then was so graphic that it had to be cut down and edited in order to avoid a potential X-rating. In the new movie, Murphy is blown up by a car bomb, and lives. The blast leaves him suffering from permanent paralysis from the waist down, and he is given an option to undergo a taboo operation that would make him completely mobile, but turns him into, you guessed it, a cyborg police officer.

Part of the appeal of RoboCop back then was not seeing a killer cyborg dish out street justice by executing criminals every two seconds, but the fact that he was still a human. The man that was Alex Murphy had a wife and kids, and every now and then we would get to see his emotional traumas materialized in angry expressions as he goes romping around remembering important life moments from his past.

After the first RoboCop movie in 1987, the world changed forever.

RoboCop was so cool and popular back then that he got two movie sequels (RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3), seven video games (RoboCop vs. Terminator, anyone?), a cartoon adaptation, multiple comic books, bed-sheets, a TV series, toys, coffee mugs; RoboCop was so marketable that he’s still selling big time almost three decades later – and the movie is testimony to that.

I mean, did you ever see the Terminator eating fried chicken and lifting refrigerators in Korea?

Or how about that time when he rescued World Wrestling Entertainment star Sting from a cage during a live match?

    (image)

Hell, RoboCop is so culturally significant that Kick Starter managed to raise the funds to erect a $50,000 statue in Detroit:

    (image) (Credit: AV Club)

As for the reboot, fans reactions have been mixed after seeing the trailer.

Here’s hoping that RoboCop never dies, and that the new movie further complements the franchise without Hollywood messing it up.

  • Daniel Radcliffe Channels Ginsberg in ‘Kill Your Darlings’ Trailer

Earlier this year, a film by first-time director John Krokidas titled Kill Your Darlings gained positive buzz at the Sundance Film Festival. The movie is a semi-historical account of the event surrounding the murder of David Kammerer in 1944.

The movie brings together several young actors to play beat-generation writers in 40s New York City. Notably, Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter fame is once again donning glasses, this time to play the role of Allen Ginsberg. Dane DeHaan, who starred in last year’s surprise hit Chronicle, will play Lucien Carr, who was eventually convicted of manslaughter for killing Kammerer. Kammerer will be played by Michael C. Hall, who has just wrapped up his long-time role as Dexter Morgan in the TV series Dexter.

Other roles include Ben Foster as William Burroughs, comedian David Cross as Allen Ginsberg’s father, and Jack Huston as Jack Kerouac. Elizabeth Olsen, who was recently rumored to be playing the Scarlet Witch in the upcoming The Avengers: Age of Ultron, plays future Kerouac wife Edie Parker.

The first full trailer for Kill Your Darlings was released this week. The movie is set for release in the U.S. on October 18.

  • Seth Rogen, Zac Efron Clash in ‘Neighbors’ Red Band Trailer

The comedy movies of 2013 have been mostly misses, but critics and theater-goers generally agreed that This is the End is a genuine hit. It’s unsurprising, then, that the new Red Band trailer for the upcoming Neighbors touts the flick as being from “the guys who brought you This is the End.” The “guys” in this case would be the Point Grey Pictures, the production company founded by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

The movie stars Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne as a nice couple living in a quiet suburb with their young child. Zac Efron stars as the leader of a fraternity that moves in next door. While the couple is, at first, welcoming to the frat brothers, the partying and squalor they bring eventually leads to conflict with the neighborhood.

The Red Band Trailer for the flick was released this weekend. It shows that the conflict between the fraternity and the couple quickly escalates, going from raunchy pranks to violence and what appears to be outright terrorism:

Neighbors is scheduled to hit theaters on May 9 of next year.

  • McConaughey, Leto, and HIV in New ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ Trailer

Late last year, photos of Matthew McConaughey looking sickly hit tabloids. The actor had lost more than 30 pounds off his frame to star in the upcoming movie Dallas Buyers Club. Jared Leto also made headlines by dressing in drag for the same movie.

This week, the fruits of McConaughey’s crash diet can be glimpsed in the new official trailer for Dallas Buyers Club. The movie stars McConaughey as a Texan named Ron Woodroof who was diagnosed with HIV in the mid-80s. He and “Rayon” (played by Leto) band together with other HIV-positive people create a club to import unapproved HIV medications into the U.S.

The movie has a December 6 release date in the U.S., but will also be screened at the Toronto Film Festival next month.

  • Into The Wild Teen Death Leads To Family Reactions

Can passions become our downfall? The heart-breaking story of an admirable eighteen-year-old with the wide smile has left many devastated. People say that life imitates art, which unfortunately has tragic meaning to the young Johnathan Croom, who was passionate about the film Into The Wild where some are describing the interest as an obsession.

David Croom, the father of the beloved youth, shared his feelings about protecting and guiding the younger generation.

“John made us feel like he was OK, but he was really hurting inside. It’s really important that we pay real close attention to what our kids are saying and that we remind them that we love them, because there are influences in the world that tell them otherwise. John is loved by many. I appreciate all the help and what everyone has done. My instincts told me this could happen. I’m trying to be strong for my community,” David said.

Speaking before Johnathan Croom’s body was discovered, David Croom contemplated the reason behind his son’s absence. “He’s been watching the movie a lot,” he said. Mr. Croom added, “Maybe he said, ‘I want to do it.’ That’s our theory, because he kept talking about the movie.”

There are still many questions surrounding this situation. “We still don’t know what happened, but he was lost in the wild. He got in over his head, and things didn’t go well,” the grieving father said.

While many questions may always remain unanswered, one answer has already been answered. The father has spoken about his concern that parents tell their children how much they are loved daily and not wait. Life as wonderful and beautiful as it may be ends far too soon. When people hear about Johnathan Croom, hopefully they will think of the joyous, smiling individual who posted videos of himself enjoying life such as the one below.

  • ‘The Hobbit’ Trailer Recreated With LEGOs

Back in June, the long-expected trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was finally released. The preview gave Tolkien fans their first glimpse of the dragon Smaug, voiced in this adaptation by Benedict Cumberbatch.

This week, the dedicated artists of the Brotherhood Workshop have re-created the entire trailer using only animated LEGOs. The artists claim that the project took two months and “countless” man-hours to complete. Even the teaser phrase cut-aways and title from the trailer were painstakingly spelled out in LEGO.

The Brotherhood Workshop has also provided a side-by-side comparison of their animation and the original Hobbit trailer. It shows exactly how precise and detailed they were in their recreation:

The entire project, from start to finish, has been chronicled on the Brotherhood Workshop’s Facebook page. The page states that the group is simply a few “quirky artists who love to be creative” and who dream of someday creating movies. The group has created LEGO animations in the past, many of them also Tolkien-related. In addition to a humorous take on the Battle of Helm’s deep, the group has also parodied the Harry Potter movies.

  • ‘Pompeii’ Disaster Movie Teased in New Trailer

It appears that disaster movies may be making a comeback. Director Paul W.S. Anderson of Resident Evil, Alien vs. Predator, and The Three Musketeers fame is directing a big volcano disaster movie set for a February 21, 2014 release. Unlike disaster flicks set in modern times, this one will tackle one of the most famous natural disasters in human history.

Titled Pompeii, the movie will follow the events surrounding the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 CE. The bits of story revealed so far include a slave and the woman he loves, as well as a gladiator that becomes trapped in the Pompeii coliseum. The movie stars Kit Harington (Jon Snow in HBO’s Game of Thrones) as “Milo” and Emily Browning (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, Sucker Punch) as “Cassia.” Other stars to appear in the movie include Kiefer Sutherland, Jared harris, and Carrie-Anne Moss.

The first teaser trailer for Pompeii was released this week. It begins where the movie will inevitably end, with the ash-covered forms of Pompeii’s dead. It then segues into the exciting parts, previewing plenty of fighting, desperate romance, and destruction.

  • Ninja Turtles Movie Delayed Again, Pushed to August 2014

The Ninja Turtles Movie seems to be in a bit of trouble. Since director Michael Bay announced in March 2012 that the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would actually be space aliens, fans of the franchise have been giving the Transformers director hell on Twitter. This backlash continued as it was revealed that the movie’s title would be shortened to just Ninja Turtles.

The movie project has also been delayed repeatedly, from its original holiday 2013 release date to May 2014, and then again to June 2014. Now, the movie has been delayed yet again, according to a report from Deadline. The report states that Ninja Turtles will now be released on August 8, 2014, nearly a year after it was expected to be in theaters.

The reason for this latest delay reportedly has to do with Paramount’s film release schedule for summer 2014. The former Ninja Turtles release date of June 6 was close to the release of another Michael Bay-directed Paramount movie on June 27 – the upcoming sequel to the Transformers franchise. The Deadline report rumors that the toy merchandising campaigns for the two movies were conflicting.

Michael Bay’s Ninja Turtles movie will see the Turtles defend the earth from an alien invasion. The cast includes Megan Fox as April O’Neil and William Fichtner as Shredder. Other cast members include Will Arnett and Whoopi Goldberg.

  • Julianne Hough, Russell Brand in New ‘Paradise’ Trailer

Since her Oscar-winning screenplay for 2007’s Juno, Diablo Cody has seen consistent success in Hollywood. In addition to writing the screenplays for Jennifer’s Body and Young Adult, Cody created the Showtime series United States of Tara. Now, having established herself as more than a one-hit writer, Cody is moving into the director’s chair.

Cody has written and directed a movie called Paradise. The movie stars Julianne Hough as a woman named Lamb who survives a plane crash, suffers terrible injuries, and then questions her conservative faith while in Las Vegas. Russell Brand, Nick Offerman, Holly Hunter, and Octavia Spencer also star in the flick.

Not much else is known about Paradise, so today’s new trailer for the movie is a big reveal. It appears as if the movie will be a loss-of-innocence tale crossed with a bucket list/hangover theme, all set in Vegas. The movie is set for an October 18 release in the U.S.

  • Curse of Chucky Red Band Trailer Released

Just like most of their antagonists, horror franchises never die. It’s an unwritten rule of some sort. So, the fact that a movie titled Curse of Chucky is on the way should come as now surprise to movie-goers.

Though the Child’s Play series has certainly gotten silly enough for a “gritty” reboot, Curse of Chucky isn’t quite that. Instead, the movie is set in a time shortly after Child’s Play 3, cutting out Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky entirely. Brad Dourif is back as the voice of Chucky, and Don Mancini (the writer of all the Child’s Play movies and the director of Seed of Chucky) is back as the movie’s writer/director.

The movie also seems to be trying to capture more of the creepy horror elements from the first two Child’s Play flicks. The story involves a woman visiting family after the death of her mother, and a young niece who loves a red-haired doll that mysteriously showed up in a package. As seen in the new red band trailer below, people begin dying in horrible ways:

Curse of Chucky won’t be hitting theaters this Halloween. In a series first, the movie will be straight-to-DVD, with a release date of October 8.
