  • Most Desirable Woman of 2014: The Mother of Dragons

Khaleesi, the Mother of Dragons, has officially taken over Katniss Everdeen. The results were published on Tuesday for AskMen’s 13th edition of its annual 99 Most Desirable Woman in the World List. Game of Thrones British beauty Emilia Clarke, 26, took the top spot away from last year’s number one hottie, Jennifer Lawrence, who finished in the fourth spot this year.

The poll is not just about sheer sexiness. The magazine asked readers to vote for the females that “most match their ideals, voting on more than just sex appeal and taking into account other criteria such as character, talent and potential of 2014.” The poll received more than a million votes.

The top five spots, in order, went to: Emilia Clarke, Alison Brie (Community), Emily Ratajkowki (from the Blurred Lines video), Emma Watson (Harry Potter.)

One would think that A-List Hollywood film actresses and top fashion models would dominate this sort of list, but surprisingly, it was television actresses who repeatedly made the cut. AskMen publisher James Bassil said, “More than a third of the finalists are from TV series.”

Fanboys definitely had their say. Not only was Clarke at the top of the list but her Game of Thrones co-stars Oona Chaplin came in at #43 and Rose Leslie at #61. A few other television stars making the list included: Kerry Washington #7 (Scandal), Kat Dennings #12 (2 Broke Girls), Zooey Deschanel #17 (New Girl), Amy Poehler #23 (Parks and Recreation), Taylor Schilling #38 (Orange is the New Black), Sofia Vergara #40 (Modern Family), Robin Wright #95 (House of Cards.)

And since it’s Olympic time, don’t forget about all the desirable female athletes out there. Lolo Jones #15, Alex Morgan #45, Hope Solo #78 and Hannah Teter #92.

Tell us what you think. Did the AskMen voters get it right? Who do you think should have been included on the list or placed in a different spot?

  • Most Desirable Woman: Emilia Clarke Snags The Honor In 2014

There is no doubt that Game Of Thrones has hit a new level of popularity, with Emilia Clarke being selected as the most desirable woman. Clarke was picked as the top choice after a rigid electoral process that had over 1 million votes.

The list of the Top 99 Most Desirable Women in the world was just released, and she is also not the only member of the Game Of Thrones cast to make the list. The full list was compiled by Askmen.com users, and also included her co-stars Oona Chaplin and Rose Leslie.

Emilia Clarke plays Daenerys Targaryen on the hit HBO show, which is set to begin its 4th season on April 6th.

In addition to being a star on one of the most popular shows on television, Clarke is also set to play Sarah Connor in the upcoming reboot of the Terminator series.

Joining Emilia Clarke in the top five are a couple of young actresses that most people will expect to see like Emma Watson, coming in at No. 5, and Jennifer Lawrence, No. 4. They appeared in two of the biggest film franchises of all time, and have both been looked at as a couple of the hottest actresses around since their roles as Hermione Granger and Katniss Everdeen, respectively.

Surprisingly, the two others who appear in the top five are not movie stars, and the average person probably has no idea who they are. Alison Brie, who has been seen in select television shows such as Mad Men, came in 2nd place, while model/actress Emily Ratajkowski is ranked third. It is also worth noting that Beyonce was left out of the top 10.

To think about Emilia Clarke as the most desirable woman may show that television has now become just as popular as film. Also interesting? The age of many women on the list.

The list will supposedly appeal to men of any age, but this year’s most desirable woman is only 26-years-old, and those that join her in the top five are even younger than her. Other youngsters such as Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus are also included on the list.

Although a select few veteran actresses such as Kate Winslet and Robin Wright are included on the long list of desirable women, many of the women that are included on the list are barely legal or are at least young enough to be the daughters of many of the men who are desiring them.

While the “honor” went to Jennifer Lawrence last year, this year’s most desirable woman has been voted on, and it’s Emilia Clarke’s year.

Most Desirable Woman: Kim K Gets Dropped

There are many factors to take into consideration when compiling a list of the most desirable women in Hollywood, and if one of them is overexposure, you can bet it won’t be in that person’s favor.

An AskMen poll released today has Jennifer Lawrence in the top spot for the title, which doesn’t come as much of a surprise; the “Hunger Games” star has proven herself to be easygoing, charming, funny, and approachable during interviews and appearances on talk shows. She’s wildly attractive and yet still attainable, the girl-next-door who could be your hilarious best friend at the same time she’s stealing your heart.

Coming in at number two is the “Sexiest Woman Alive“, Mila Kunis, who attained that achievement earlier this year according to Esquire Magazine. Kate Upton, Rihanna, and Emma Stone round out the top five.

But one name was suspiciously absent from the top ten, or even the top twenty, this year: Kim Kardashian. She’s been a mainstay on lists like these for a while now after proving she’s not afraid to flaunt her assets, and being business-savvy doesn’t hurt, either. But Kim K. took a big hit this year, dropping from the number 8 spot on last year’s list to number 98 out of 99. Ouch.
