Morena Baccarin: “One Million Years Pregnant” And Getting Ready To Deal With Custody Battle

Morena Baccarin is slowing down these days now that Gotham, the show she films with her baby’s soon-to-be dad Ben McKenzie, has ceased filming and she has wrapped touring to promote Deadpool.

Though, Morena Baccarin admits, slowing down when she already has a toddler running around is nearly impossible.

Morena Baccarin said recently, “I’m one million years pregnant! I’m feeling good, and I’m now at the point where I can chill out a bit.”

She continued, “With a toddler, chilling out is hard to do,” and added, “I’m nesting.”

Morena Baccarin is due any day now with her second child, but soon afterward, she’ll have to deal with some custody drama.

Morena Baccarin shares custody of her son, Julius, 2, with her estranged husband, Austin Chick. The couple had previously agreed to share custody and Chick moved to New York, where Baccarin was filming Gotham, to co-parent.

However, when Chick found out about her romance with Ben McKenzie, he changed his mind and moved back to Los Angeles and challenged her for custody of their son.

Court papers said Chick “shipped some furniture there and actually stayed there with the child for approximately two weeks in July. Apparently he changed his mind and returned to Los Angeles with the child when he learned that [Baccarin] had a new boyfriend.”

A hearing was set for the custody proceedings, but Morena Baccarin was put on bedrest by her doctor. So, the actress will have to deal with it after the birth of her second son.

Hopefully Morena Baccarin can get her custody battle ironed out so that she can begin living her life with McKenzie.

What do you think about Morena Baccarin’s upcoming battle with estranged husband Austin Chick?

  • Morena Baccarin, Ben McKenzie Show Off Baby-to-Be at Gotham Independent Film Awards, Following Child and Spousal Support Order

Morena Baccarin and Ben McKenzie were showing off her pronounced baby bump and clearly wearing the glow of impending parenthood at the Gotham Independent Film Awards on Monday. The two are expecting their first baby together.

It was less than a couple of weeks ago, however, that Morena Baccarin received an order from the court to pay both spousal support and child support to estranged husband Austin Chick. She will have to pay more than $20,000 in spousal support, as well as $2,693 per month in child support until their son Julius–who is now two–turns 18, according to a report from People magazine.

The Gotham costars wowed the crowd at the awards show. Morena Baccarin wore a white dress that accentuated that burgeoning belly–she is in her second trimester–and Ben McKenzie wore a black pinstripe suit.

Baccarin and McKenzie began working together on Gotham in 2014. They announced this past September that they were dating, and just days later shared their baby news, too.

This will be the first child for Ben McKenzie– a former O.C. star. He and Morena Baccarin plan to marry, but she obviously will need to finalize her divorce with Austin Chick before that can take place.

Morena Baccarin Boasts Visible Baby Bump On NYC Date Night With Ben McKenzie Amidst Custody Turmoil

Morena Baccarin got all dressed up for a date night with boyfriend Ben McKenzie on Wednesday, but despite her efforts on just perfect dress, makeup, and hair, all eyes were on her baby bump. It’s growing rapidly, making Morena Baccarin a positively adorable pregnant woman.

It was at the Sierra Club’s Act in Paris that Morena Baccarin and Ben McKenzie enjoyed their date night. His arm was lovingly draped around her, as she sported a black and white sparkling dress that hugged her belly.

The former Homeland star is expecting her first child with Ben McKenzie. She already has a two-year-old son with estranged husband Austin Chick. Morena Baccarin and Chick are presently engaged in a bicoastal custody battle over Julian. Chick was going to relocate to New York to co-parent the little boy. That’s where Gotham, in which both Morena Baccarin and Ben McKenzie star, is filmed. When Austin Chick learned Baccarin and McKenzie were both seeing each other and expecting a baby together, he refused to relocate, preferring instead to remain in L.A.

“Austin was totally shocked when he found out about the affair,” a source tells E! News. “Totally blindsided. When Morena left him for Ben, Austin was devastated — completely shocked.”

Morena Baccarin is unable to travel frequently between New York and L.A. because of both her pregnancy and work.

Do you think Austin Chick will eventually relent and move to New York so he can spend more time with their son? Or will he fight for Morena Baccarin to start making the trip more frequently after her baby is born?

  • Morena Baccarin Returns as Sexy, Seductive Erika Flynn on ‘The Mentalist’

Morena Baccarin fans received some good news this week with the announcement that the actress will return to season seven of The Mentalist this fall.

The Firefly alum will reprise her role as Erika Flynn in the season’s third episode. Fans first got to know the character in season three after she murdered her husband, John Flynn. She was convicted of murder and sent to prison, but not before she tried to cover up the crime. The character reappeared in season four and helped Patrick Jane, played by Simon Baker, solve a crime from her prison cell. Jane fell for the sexy prisoner and let his guard down, which enabled Flynn to escape.

Flynn and Jane will reunite once again in the third episode this year. The reunion will take place in Beirut, where Jane and Teresa Lisbon, played by Robin Tunney, are working to stop an international weapons dealer. Flynn agrees to help the duo in exchange for a full pardon and the opportunity to return home to the U.S.

Baccarin is a frequent guest star on many series. Along with her role as Inara Serra on Firefly, she has also appeared as Jessica Kivala on Heartland, as Isobel Swift on The Good Wife, as Anna on V, and as Jessica Brody on Homeland.

She will also be lending her voice to the new animated horror thriller Malevolent, alongside Ray Wise and Bill Moseley.

Season seven of The Mentalist will air this fall on CBS.

  • Morena Baccarin To Reprise Role On “The Mentalist”

Morena Baccarin is making a return to the hit show The Mentalist.

The 35-year-old Baccarin will reprise her role as the seductive Erika Flynn in episode three of the upcoming season.

CBS is going to air the seventh season of its immensely popular show in mid-season. Morena Baccarin played a sociopath who murdered her husband. When she offered help from prison on another case, she seduced Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) and escaped.

Entertainment Weekly gives the setup for the upcoming season of The Mentalist and Morena Baccarin’s role:

“Jane teams up with Erika Flynn [Morena Baccarin] in Beirut, Lebanon, where he and Lisbon have gone at the request of the CIA to take down an international weapons dealer,”

It continues of Morena Baccarin’s character, “Erika has agreed to help Jane and the CIA in exchange for a pardon on the murder charges she’s still facing and the chance to return to the U.S. But as always Erika has agendas of her own, one of which may, or may not, be inserting herself between Jane and Lisbon.”

That sounds pretty exciting! For fans of The Mentalist, this season ought to be one of the best so far with the addition of Morena Baccarin.

She seems to add some class and edge to any show she joins. Morena Baccarin has also starred in Homeland, Heartland, and The Good Wife. However, many remember her as the classy companion on Firefly.

But The Mentalist is not all that Morena Baccarin has going on these days. She reportedly just landed a voice role on the new animated horror thriller Malevolent, which will also star Ray Wise and Bill Moseley.

Good luck to Morena Baccarin as she continues down her impressive career path! She is sure to continue to be a hit as Erika Flynn.

  • Morena Baccarin: ‘Homeland’ Role Downgraded

    Morena Baccarin: ‘Homeland’ Role Downgraded

Morena Baccarin was recently lauded by Jimmy Kimmel Live for her role on Homeland, but come September the actress will no longer be a series regular. Baccarin’s role as Jessica Brody has been downgraded significantly. In fact, her contract wasn’t even renewed. She has been given the option to appear as an occasional guest star on the show. Morgan Saylor, who plays Jessica Brody’s daughter Dana, was given the same option by Showtime.

Baccarin received an Emmy nomination in the best supporting actress category, but it doesn’t seem even that was enough to keep her around full time for season four. She was pregnant during most of season three and was pretty much nonexistent on the show. The storyline shifts during season three make it pretty much unnecessary for her to return at all.

The season three finale airs Sunday night. Do you expect the finale will be among the most talked about topics on Monday?

Alex Gansa explains why the show’s focus was on Dana during season three.

“Because Brody was not onscreen and not part of the story in those first couple of episodes, we really wanted to tell the aftermath of the bombing in a more personal way,” he said. “The relationship between Dana and her father is very strong. It’s stronger than his relationship with Jessica and certainly stronger than his relationship with [son] Chris [Jackson Pace].”

Viewers already sense that changes are coming in the Homeland cast.

If you’re a Homeland fan it sounds like big changes are coming your way. After everyone has digested the almost-loss of Morena Baccarin, it will be interesting to learn what they say about the series finale and the fall premiere of season four.
