  • Second Overdose Death At Mad Decent Block Party

During an outdoor music festival organized by record label Mad Decent in Columbia, Maryland on Friday, two fans died of apparent drug overdoses, and an additional 19 were transported to an area hospital.

An unnamed 17-year-old male from Virginia, who was hospitalized since Friday and in critical condition, died Monday. This comes after 20-year-old Tyler Fox Viscardi, of Raleigh, North Carolina, died after being rushed to the hospital at 9 p.m. EDT after overdosing at the all-day Mad Decent Block Party, the Howard County Police Department said in a statement.

Authorities believe that MDMA, also called “molly” and ecstasy, was prevalent at the event, and Viscardi’s family has suggested in a statement that Tyler was unknowingly slipped the drug – “We are devastated by the sudden loss of our beloved Tyler. He was the victim of a terrible mishap. Details are not clear yet, but we know this much. He was attending a music festival in Maryland with some friends. According to his close college friend who was with him, the afternoon was hot and he drank water that was given to him by others who were in the area. We believe that this contained a substance, unbeknownst to him, to which he had a toxic reaction. He was taken to a nearby hospital, but the reaction proved fatal. This tragic accident has taken Tyler from us. He will always be in our hearts.”

The concert took place at the Merriweather Post Pavillion, roughly 20 miles southwest of Baltimore, and featured pop and dance artists including Cashmere Cat, Flux Pavilion, Diplo, Sleigh Bells, Wave Racer and Wolfgang Gartner.

Here is the Mad Decent Block Party 2014 Trailer:

Operators of the Merriweather Post Pavillion said in a statement, “Our hearts go out to the family as they face the unimaginable… We can spend every minute of the day making sense to our children regarding the perils of drugs, but sometimes it’s impossible to convince them that this is relevant to their world.”

In all, 20 concertgoers were hospitalized, roughly 60 fake IDs were confiscated and 50 underage drinking citations were handed out by police.

Mad Decent adjusted their initial statement on the incident – “We were shocked and saddened when we heard the news from Friday’s event at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this.”

  • Wiz Khalifa and Miley Cyrus Smoke Together: “She’s Just Blowin’ Like a Train”

It’s pretty evident that Miley Cyrus’ go-to drug is molly, since she highly references it in her song “We Can’t Stop”:

“So la da di da di
    We like to party
    Dancing with Molly “

But, it appears that mary jane is one other drug that Cyrus just can’t stop smoking.

Sorry. Let me put it in simpler terms-Marijuana or weed to be exact.

Wiz Khalifa has now confirmed even more that the racy Pop singer likes to hit nearly every five minutes!

During an interview on The Arsenio Hall Show Monday, he’s asked about his experience collaborating with Cyrus for his new album Black Hollywood.

That conversation soon veered off course.

“Insane! But in a good way though,” Khalifa said. “Like, she’s just a ball of energy, you know what I mean? And she smokes a ton.”

Of course that was strange coming from Khalifa, because surely the rapper smokes quite a “ton” of weed every day.

Hall asked him to define “a ton” and he responded: “I don’t know. She’s younger so it’s different…she kept being like, ‘Wiz, you don’t have a joint rolled? What’s up?’”

Hall was quite astonished himself as he mentioned how “small” and “tiny” Cyrus is, and Khalifa couldn’t agree more.

“Right. And she’s just blowin’ like a train.”

According to a Q&A interview with Rolling Stone in October, Cyrus mentioned how Hollywood was a “coke town” and that she preferred getting happily high off of molly and weed.

“Those are happy drugs—social drugs,” Cyrus said. “They make you want to be with friends. You’re out in the open. You’re not in a bathroom. I really don’t like coke. It’s so gross and so dark.”

I suggest that Cyrus write a sequel to “We Can’t Stop,” but this time shine some spotlight on her other favorite drug:

“So la da di da di
    We like to party
    Smoking on some weed”

…or maybe that’s not such a good idea.

  • Miley Cyrus Opens up about Drug Use

20-year-old, Miley Cyrus has been in the spotlight a lot lately. Her most recent accomplishment is being featured on the cover of Rolling Stone. In an interview with the magazine, she opens up about her recent actions, including her VMA performance, her tongue, and her drug use.

“I think weed is the best drug on earth,” she told Rolling Stone. “One time I smoked a joint with peyote in it, and I saw a wolf howling at the moon. Hollywood is a coke town, but weed is so much better. And molly, too. Those are happy drugs – social drugs. They make you want to be with friends. You’re out in the open. You’re not in a bathroom.”

Despite her love for weed and molly, she says she doesn’t like cocaine. “I really don’t like coke. It’s so gross and so dark. It’s like what are you, from the Nineties? Ew.”

She also discussed the infamous tongue and VMA performance. She said she knew exactly what she was doing when she performed at the VMAs. “I know what I’m doing. I know I’m shocking you. When I’m dressed in that teddy bear thing, I think that’s funny.”

And the tongue? “I just stick my tongue out because I hate smiling in pictures. It’s so awkward. It looks so cheesy. Now people expect it, like, “Put your tongue out!” It’s just easier that way. Taking pictures is so embarrassing. But there’s also something about it that I think is cool. Every other girl is so serious – like, this is my moment on the red carpet, I’m in my ball gown, looking pretty. There’s something empowering about what I’m doing right now. Especially having “short hair don’t care.” I think it’s empowering for girls. Because there’s not one thing that defines what beauty is.”

Drug ‘Molly’ Causing Arrests and Death

Two people were pulled over on Saturday night a little after 7:00 in Brookline, MA. They were on the intersection of Commonwealth Ave and Pleasant Street. Police officers smelled burned marijuana coming from the car and saw what looked like the two passengers smoking something.

When officers asked the passengers about the marijuana, the driver handed them a marijuana joint that he and the passenger had been smoking.

22 year old Jillian Manos of Danvers, Ma was driving the car. She was charged with a possession of a class B drug, Oxycodone. She also was carrying less than an ounce of marijuana, which caused her to get cited for possession.

30 year old Kyle Dussourd of Brighton, MA possessed 2 pills that had a brown coating around them. They contained a brown crystal substance inside. One of the police officers recognized this as being the drug ‘molly’. According to boston.com, the officer recognized “the drug “Molly” because of the recent overdose and death of a patron at the House of Blues in Boston and a flyer published by the Boston Regional Intelligence Center about the drug, according to a police report.”

The police repost also contained information on a warrant that was previously out for Dussourd’s arrest for a motor vehicle offense. When they searched him, they found the ‘molly’ along with Bupropion and some other drugs.

Many other case involving ‘molly’ have recently been in the news. Many young adults take what they think is ‘molly’, but actually turns out to be something more potent, such as bath salts. Since 2004 the number of emergecy room visits involving ‘molly’ has doubled, according to NBC News.
